1989년과 1990년의 봄철에 전남,북과 경남일원의 신간계류에서 채집된 강도래 과의 Oyamia coreana Okamoto와 Kiotina decorata(Zwick) 2종에 대한 성충의 외부형태와 난의 전자현미경에 의한 미세구조 관찰을 실시하였다.

한국산 강도래목(Plecoptera) 3과 (Peltoperlidae, Perlodidae, Perlidae)의 성충, 유충, 난을 대상으로 분류학적 연구를 실시한 결과 총 3과 8속 8종으로 나타났다. 이 중 Perlodes stigmata n. sp., Kamimuria coreana n. sp., Neoperla coreensis n. sp., 3종이 신종으로 밝혀져 도판을 작성하고 기재하였다.

A new perlid stonefly, Chinoperla rhododendrona n. sp., is described from a tropical mountain stream in central Vietnam. The male adult of this species can be characterized by the strongly setous body and unique L-shaped genital structure. The female adult can be distinguished by the posteromedially sclerotized and widely notched subgenital plate. The egg is unique among its congeners as it has smooth chorion and long and narrow collar. Illustrations of diagnostic characters are provided.

The perlid stonefly Brahmana flavomarginata Wu, originally described from China from the male adult, is described using reared male and female adults and nymphs from Vietnam. The male adult of B. flavomarginata is distinguished from its congeners by the blackish-brown body color and distinct head marking, hemitergal triangular chitin plates, and a median semicircular smooth subgenital plate (hammer) on the abdominal sternum IX. The female adult has a large and round subgenital plate which extends to the posterior margin of the abdominal sternum X. The nymph can be distinguished by the relatively small compound eyes and the body covered by many long stout setae and short golden brown hair-like setae. This species is known in southwestern China (Yunnan Province) and northern Vietnam (Lao Cai Province, Cao Bang Province).

A new and rare perlid stonefly, Togoperla thinhi n. sp., is described from male and female adults and egg specimens from tropical central Vietnam. The male adult of T. thinhi n. sp. can be distinguished from other congeners by the distinct head markings, bilobed processes on the posterior margin of the abdominal tergum V, and S-shaped aedeagus. The female adult has a long and tongue-shaped subgenital plate on the abdominal sternum VIII, which extends to the posterior margin of the abdominal sternum IX. A male key to the Vietnamese species of Togoperla is provided. The finding of this new species provides evidence of an extension of the geographical distribution of Togoperla to tropical mainland Southeast Asia.

한국산 강도래목의 연구는 1921년에 시작되어 1980년대 이후부터 최근 20년간 연구가 가장 활발하였고.과별로 종수는 Nemouridae가 가장 많고, 다음이 Chloroperlidae였다. 한편 북한산 강도래목의 연구는 1938년에 시작되었고, 외국인에 의해 1970년대에 많은 진전이 있었고, 그 이후 적은 수의 종들이 추가적으로 보고되고 있으며, 과별 종수를 보았을 때 Perlidae가 가장 많고, 다음이 Nemouridae였다. 한국산 강도래목은 총 10과 25속 43종이었고, 북한산 강도래목은 총 10과 20속 37종이었으며, 남북한 공통으로 보고된 종은 13종이었다. 그리고 강도래목 국명표기는 한국은 우리말식과 한자식이 혼용되었으며, 북한은 우리말식 종명 표기가 많았지만 대부분의 종의 명명이 안 되어 있었다. 특히 국내 생물자원으로서 강도래목은 환경부가 지정한 '국외반출 승인대상 생물자원' 822종 중에 강도래목 9종이 포함되어 있으며, 한국 고유 생물종 2,322종 중 강도래목은 11종이 지정되어 있었다. 그리고 추가적으로 2속의 국명 신칭, 즉 Megaleuctra 속은 큰꼬마강도래속, Haploperla 속은 한녹색강도래속으로 신칭을 붙였고, 4종 국명 신칭 즉, Nemoura brevicercia는 민강도래, Nemoura espera는 꽃민강도래, Amphinemura baeisms 제주아가미민강도래, Amphinemura rai는 아가미민강도래로 신칭을 붙였다.
