Field Model Test of the Non-power Soil Cleaning System (무동력 토사제거시스템의 현장모형실험)

  • Coastal and fishing facilities are gradually deteriorating in function due to the continual accumulation of soil sediments, which has affected local economic activities. Currently, there are many methods to remove soil sediments, but these methods are either a temporary solution or require a repetitive removal of the soil sediments, which is a huge financial burden for the maintenance of the facilities. To solve these problems, this study proposed a non-power soil cleaning system and evaluated field applicability by carrying out field model tests. The conditions for the evaluation focused on the drainage-elapsed time and drainage-outflow velocity according to the water level change in the water tank. In the field test, silty clay and sand were separately installed, and sedimentation soil removal test was practiced. As a result, the system was verified to have a sufficient outflow velocity for the removal of soil sediments. In addition, a generalization equation that can be used in different regions of the tide was suggested in this study. These results will greatly contribute to removing soil sediments in ports and dike gate facilities on the southwest coast. Since the system is an eco-friendly technology that does not require additional energy, thus it is expected to contribute to maintenance of sustainable facility performance as well as economic effect in the future.

  • Spatiotemporal databases support methods of recording and querying for spatiotemporal data to user by offering both spatial management and historical information on various types of objects in the real world. We can answer to the following query in real world: 'What is the average of volume of pesticide sprayed for cach farm land from April to August on 2001, within some query window' Such aggregation queries have both temporal and spatial constraint. However, previous works for aggregation are attached only to temporal aggregation or spatial aggregation. So they have problems that are difficult to apply for spatiotemporal data directly which have both spatial and temporal constraint. Therefore, in this paper, we propose spatiotemporal aggregate functions for analysis of spatiotemporal data which have spatiotemporal characteristic, such as stCOUNT, stSUM, stAVG, stMAX, stMIN. We also show that our proposal resulted in the convenience and improvement of query in application systems, and facility of analysis on spatiotemporal data which the previous temporal or spatial aggregate functions are not able to analyze, by applying to the estate management system. Then, we show the validity of our algorithm performance through the evaluation of spatiotemporal aggregate functions.

Seismic Stability Evaluation of the Breakwater Using Dynamic Centrifugal Model Test (동적원심모형 시험을 이용한 지진 시 방파제의 내진안정성 검토)

  • Recently, as the occurrence of earthquakes with a magnitude of 5.0 or higher in Korea increases, many studies and interests in seismic design are increasing. A lot of damage was caused by the Pohang earthquake in 2017, and port facilities such as a breakwater were also damaged. This study analyzed the dynamic behavior of the upright breakwater, an external facility, based on a centrifugal model experiment. A series of centrifugal model test was conducted by three different seismic waves such as Pohang Earthquake Wave, Artificial Wave I, and II. As a result, the dynamic behavior of upright breakwater was analyzed. The review showed that acceleration amplification tends to be suppressed as breakwater foundation ground increases support and stiffness through DCM reinforcement and riprap replacement.

A Study on the Evaluation of Thermal Performance of Aluminium Alloy Window Frame considering 2D Steady-state Heat Transfer applied to Educadtional Facility (2차원 정상전열해석을 통한 교육시설의 알루미늄 창호 열성능 평가에 관한 연구)

  • 본 연구에서는 기존 교육시설에 설치된 알루미늄 합금 창의 2차원 정상상태 전열해석을 통한 열성능 평가를 수행하였다. 교육시설의 주요 창호재료로 적용된 알루미늄은 열전도율이 $175 \;Kcal/m^2h^{\circ}C$ 정도로 플라스틱 소재와 비교하여 매우 불리하여 기존 시설에 설치된 알루미늄 창호는 열손실의 주요인으로 지적되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 점에 착안하여 충남 서산지방에 위치한 대학건물의 알루미늄 합금 창호의 열성능 평가에 관한 연구를 수행하여 다음과 같은 해석 결과를 도출하였다. (1) 2차원 정상상태 전열해석을 위한 경계조건은 국토해양부고시 건축물의 에너지절약설계기준의 [별표 6] 중부지방 냉난방장치의 용량계산을 위한 설계 외기온 기준과 [별표 7]의 실내온도 기준을 적용하여 여름철 실내 $27^{\circ}C$, 실외 $31.3^{\circ}C$, 겨울철 실내 $21.0^{\circ}C$, 실외 $-9.6^{\circ}C$ 로 설정하고 해석한 결과 열관류율은 알루미늄 합금 창호는 $U=9.631 \;W/m^2K$, 복층유리 $U= 2.382 \;W/m^2K$로 여름철과 겨울철 동일한 해석결과치가 산출되었다. (2) 산출된 열관류율 해석결과를 건축물의 에너지절약설계기준 [별표 3] 열교차단재가 적용되지 않은 금속제 창의 단열성능 중 일반복층창 성능기준인 $4.0 \;W/m^2K$와 비교할 때, 알루미늄 창틀을 통하여 225%의 열량이 손실됨을 보여 주고 있다.

Development of Vertical Rainwater Harvesting Facility and Its Performance Evaluation using Weather Data (수직 빗물수집장치 개발 및 기상 자료를 이용한 성능 모의 평가)

  • 본 연구에서는 벽면을 통해 빗물을 모을 수 있는 수직 빗물수집장치을 개발하고, 기상 자료를 이용하여 장치의 성능을 모의해보았다. 빗물수집장치는 높이에 따라 총 3 가지 유형(1.00 m, 1.50 m, 2.00 m)으로 제작되었다. 본 연구는 빗물수집장치에 의해 모을 수 있는 빗물의 양을 추정하고 실제로 측정한 값과 비교해보았다. 빗물의 양을 추정하는 과정에서는 Cho et al. (2020)이 제안한 차단량 추정식을 이용하였다. 기상 자료를 관측하기 위한 장치로는 BloomSky 기상 관측 장치를 이용하였다. 수직 빗물수집장치와 BloomSky 기상 관측 장치는 고려대학교 공학관 옥상에 설치되었다. 본 연구에서는 2020 년 6 월 10 일부터 2020 년 9 월 7 일까지 총 16 개의 강우사상에 대한 빗물수집장치에 모이는 빗물의 양과 기상 자료를 관측하여 이용하였다. 그 결과, 빗물수집장치의 빗물의 양을 추정한 결과는 실제로 관측된 결과와 유사한 것으로 확인되었다. 16개의 강우사상에 대한 빗물집수량의 추정 결과와 관측 결과의 평균은 각각 1.770 mm/hr·m2 및 1.878 mm/hr·m2로 계산되었다. 표준 편차의 경우, 추정 결과는 1.269 mm/hr·m2, 관측 결과는 1.181 mm/hr·m2로 나타났다.

Study on Establishing Earthquake-resistance Reinforcement Measures for Earthquake Disasters in National Industrial Complexes (국가산업단지의 지진재난 내진보강대책 수립 연구)

  • Pupose: The purpose is to prepare safety management and seismic reinforcement measures that can effectively improve the potential risks of earthquake-resistant design and the deficiencies of safety guidance and inspection of factory facilities in national industrial complexes. Method: In this study, problems and improvement measures were derived through investigation and analysis of overall earthquake disaster safety management, such as safety management status and management system in preparation for earthquake disasters in national industrial complexes. was implemented to suggest improvement plans based on facility types and structural characteristics. Result: In conclusion, the problems of safety management and seismic reinforcement in preparation for earthquake disasters in national industrial complexes were summarized and classified into four types (seismic performance evaluation and related system supplementation, authority of tenant companies and local governments, seismic reinforcement and safety management support measures, organizational structure capacity building) to derive improvement measures. Conclusion: Based on this, seismic reinforcement measures that companies in national industrial complexes should implement in preparation for earthquake disasters were prepared, and detailed plans for each measure were presented.

  • Modern roundabouts referred to as relatively safer and more efficient traffic facility than the signalized intersections have been recently deployed and operated and accordingly more research efforts to improve its safety and efficiency have been made so far. This paper introduces a new traffic information system named as Smart Roundabout coupled with Connected Vehicle technique like Vehicle-to-Roadside communication, which has not been attempted before and evaluates its performance with a microscopic simulation model, VISSIM. The proposed system functions to collect driving information of circulating vehicles in the roundabout such as location, speed, critical headway, etc. and help approaching vehicles decide whether to enter the roundabout with an on-board equipment instrumented in the individual vehicle on the basis of calculated gap acceptance of interest. This new system is expected to secure more safety and increase the capacity of the modern roundabout.

  • According to the development of society and infrastructure, effective underground facility management is growing more important them ever. In the process various monitoring systems are studied and developed for water works pipe-network. Especially, RTD-1000 system with the based on Pc. Reflector-monitoring device is constructed and steered by several local governments. But, this system have to be improved result from based on PC system structure at the point of resource management, heat, power consumption and size. In this paper, RTD-2000 is proposed are a substitution of improved RTD-1000 with many respect and portable one. This system is designed and implemented with ARM-9 development kit based on WinCE and LCD eliminate TDR(Time Domain Reflector-Meter). Various surveillance programs based on windows are mounted on RTD-1000 are replaced with dedicated embedded application softwares. Simulation and evaluation for performance comparison are performed for the prove of effectiveness of RTD-2000.

  • Among various borehole seismic testing techniques for determining body wave velocity, crosshole seismic method has been known as one of the most suitable technique for evaluating reliably geotechnical dynamic properties. In this study, to perform successfully the crosshole seismic test for rock as well as soil layers regardless of the groundwater level, multi-purposed spring-loaded source which impact horizontally a subsurface ground in vertical borehole was developed and applied at major facility sites in Korea. The geotechnical dynamic properties were evaluated by determining efficiently the body wave velocities such as shear wave velocity and compressional wave velocity from the horizontally impacted crosshole seismic tests at study sites, and were provided as the fundamental parameters for the seismic performance evaluation and seismic design of the target facilities.

Fabrication and Evaluation of CdS/ZnS Quantum Dot Based Plastic Scintillator (CdS/ZnS 양자점 기반 플라스틱 섬광체 제작 및 성능평가)

  • Currently, gamma nuclide analysis is mainly used using inorganic scintillators or semiconductor detectors. These detectors have high resolution but there are less economical, limited in size, and low process ability than plastic scintillators. Therefore, quantum dot-based plastic scintillator was developed using the advantages of the quantum dot nanomaterial and the conventional plastic scintillator. In this study, efficient plastic scintillator was fabricated by adding CdS/ZnS based on the most widely used Cd-based nanomaterial in a polystyrene matrix. In addition, the performance of the commercial plastic scintillator was compared and it was analyzed through radiological measurement experiments. The detection efficiency of fabricated plastic scintillator was higher than commercial plastic scintillator, EJ-200. It is believed that this fabricated plastic scintillator can be used as a radioactivity analyzer in the medical and nuclear facility fields.
