The study aims to establish the systematic residential satisfaction index which reflected perception of high rise residents are demand on the Apartment housing. Apartment house is developed to reduce the housing shortage caused by urbanism after industrialization in Korea. It has increased constantly since the 1970s and has become the most common residential type of Korean city dwellers. It shows Korean dwelling pattern and culture. Furthermore, it can be an index of private wealth. The main purpose of the thesis is the highlight on systematic planning process for actual users' needs. In other words, city planners are eager to reflect each individual preference when he/she designs a house. More practical and accurate research in user's satisfaction of housing can be helpful to overcome limitations of city planner's personal preference which can't provide certain evidences. First, the study has carried out the survey of importance of design elements which were selected on the basis of the results of the POE, Residential Quality, Quality Of Life which were carried out for the same subject. Then, the data were analyzed by SPSS 12+ program package in terms of frequency, factor analysis and reliability analysis. The results reveals that the Residential Satisfaction Index of Apartment housing are consisted of 8 factors which had been sorted out in factor analysis which can be interpreted to be closely related to the Physical, Social psychological and General environment.

In this paper, the analytical appproaches are presented for jointly determining the profit-miximizing configuration of the fault-tolerance real time modular cell manufacturing system. The transient(time-dependent) analysis of Markovian models is firstly applied to modular cell manufacturing system from a performability viewpoint whose modeling advantage lies in its ability to express the performance that truly matters - the user's perception of it - as well as various performance measures compositely in the context of application. The modular cells are modeled with hybrid decomposition method and then availability measures such as instantaneous availability, interval availability, expected cumulative operational time are evaluated as special cases of performability. In addition to this evaluation, sensitivity analysis of the entire manufacturing system as well as each machining cell is performed, from which the time of a major repair policy and the optimal configuration among the alternative configurations of the system can be determined. Secondly, the recovery policies from the machine failures by computing the minimal number of redundant machines and also from the task failures by computing the minimum number of tasks equipped with detection schemes of task failure and reworked upon failure detection, to meet the timing requirements are optimized. Some numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the work.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze image factors of places located in natural and humanistically superior geographical locations. It aims to analyze image recognition and spatiality of scenically historical Sahmyook University, located northeast of Gangneung, through standardization. Method: The analysis method of landscape is composed of data investigation and research, and elements of how students, faculty, and visitors recognize a place's beautiful image will be examined. Result: A phenomenological approach was applied to how the images of beautiful place were set by FGI group meeting, and how such factors affect beautiful place's perception from the user's point of view. When looking at comprehensive ranking of image factors in recognition of beautiful landscapes, factors corresponding to forest landscapes appear at the top rank. In determining factors for its recognition, shared space with natural elements such as water, trees, flowers, etc. has been analyzed to have the biggest influence. Among factors corresponding to urban landscape, 'streets and pedestrian paths' is of medium importance and are recognized for it is artificial structure coexisting with natural elements shared with humans. The image corresponding to 'city area' and 'architecture' was analyzed to have insignificant influence on beautiful places' image recognition for artificial element was prioritized.

LBS(Location-Based Service) is one of the smartphone application services which has been receiving great attention recently. Various applications of smartphone use LBS to provide innovative services. However, use of LBS raises privacy concerns because the location information of users is constantly exposed. Privacy calculus perspective attempts to understand the characteristics of the user's privacy. It is based on the risk-benefit analysis in the economics' perspective. That is, when the benefit expected through personal information disclosure is higher than risk, we are willing to provide personal information. This research suggested a research model based on the privacy calculus perspective to clarify the effect of information disclosure intention of smartphone LBS application users. Based on the main factors of privacy calculus, perception of privacy risk and privacy benefit, the relationship of the perceived value and the information disclosure intention was empirically analyzed by utilizing structural equation modeling(SEM) methodology. According to the results of the empirical analysis, it was found that all relations have statistically significant explanatory power except the relation between privacy concern and information disclosure intention. This study showed a strong evidence of antecedent factors based on privacy calculus of personal information disclosure in smartphone LBS applications.

This study suggests the general support center with comprehensive services for the elderly. In general, the modifications of the elderly housing have a direct influence on the "Quality of life" and "Aging in place" for the elderly. But until now, the elderly housing modification has been carried out separately on the elderly welfare category. It is very inefficient and inconvenient for the elderly. Therefore, it is necessary to have a comprehensive organization that includes the implementation of modifications. To provide reasons for this insistence, this study analyzed the previous research, legal system guidelines, and others related things. And it researched the perception of the comprehensive institution and the need for housing modification through the recognition survey of the elderly and the early elderly. The study found that the current domestic legal system does not have an integrated system to carry out the entire process of applying and implementing the elderly housing modification. On the other hand, the results of the survey showed that the elderly hoped to introduce a comprehensive and user-friendly institution for housing modification.

The aim of this study is to review phenomenological characteristics in Steven Holl's architecture through his design of St. Ignatius Chapel at Seattle University. To obtain this purpose, an analytical frame based on Holl's theory of phenomenological architecture is suggested to have a systematic study for St. Ignatius chapel. This chapel can be a good example of phenomenological architecture in that it is based on the concept of 'A Gathering of Different Lights' related to phenomenology and considered perception including multi sensory (as well as vision) as primary factors from site and program interpretation to spatial configuration. Unprecedented exterior of St. Ignatius chapel reflected on characteristics and function of rooms to magnify user's spatial experiences through inducing natural light and spatial effect. Holl used various openings and screen for natural light with colors to invoke religious inspiration. He also try to give spatial depth and multi foci for experiencing space through various ceiling forms. These phenomenological features originated in client's strong will as well as appropriateness of the function of facility's religious experiences through building to the purpose of phenomenological architecture.

This study investigates and analyzes (1) the status of neighborhood commercial facilities, (2) the location of neighborhood commercial facilities and (3) the users' viewpoint of them for the purpose of establishing the revitalizing factors of neighborhood commercial facilities within permanent rental housing complexes. This study attempts to determine the factors that revitalize neighborhood commercial facilities through quantitative factor analysis based on the analysis of the basic status and purpose of neighborhood commercial facilities using the basic status of permanent rental housing complexes and the quantitative data on neighborhood commercial facilities within these complexes. A survey investigating the residents' perception of neighborhood commercial facilities was conducted to analyze the qualitative aspects neighborhood commercial facilities within permanent rental housing complexes. The factors affecting the revitalization of neighborhood commercial facilities were analyzed by quantifying the actual problems perceived by the users and the elements of their use patterns. From these analysis results, it was found that the factors are not independent from one another, but organically affect one another. It is expected that more meaningful data will be obtained if future studies conduct correlation analysis and weighted value analysis on each factor based on the findings of the present study.

In this paper, we proposed a new hearing aid algorithm to improve SNR(signal to noise ratio) of noisy speech signal and speech perception. The proposed hearing aid algorithm is a multi-band loudness compensation based independent component analysis (ICA). The proposed algorithm was compared with a conventional spectral subtraction algorithm on behind-the-ear type hearing aid. The proposed algorithm successfully separated a target speech signal from background noise and from a mixture of the speech signals. The algorithms were compared each other by means of SNR. The average improvement of SNR by ICA based algorithm was 16.64dB, whereas spectral subtraction algorithm was 8.67dB. From the clinical tests, we concluded that our proposed algorithm would help hearing aid user to hear clearly a target speech in noisy conditions.

Upon reviewing the tendency of the large-scale hospital buildings constructed so far, we may well know that the architectural space of the hospital buildings has been designed for users' conveniences in terms of functional elements fulfilled, efficiency, uniform colors and lighting, which means that patients may well feel difficult to find their ways in the hospital. The result may be that the patients who are weak mentally and physically feel uneasy or tensed when they wander in the hospital, which may lead to their increased physical fatigue, higher blood pressure or other harmful effects. Thus, patients' way-finding emerges as a new design challenge for the hospital building. The purpose of this study was to define the environmental variables and factors affecting patients' way-finding in the hospital and thereby, determine the correlations between the variables/factors and way-finding to provide for some framework of analysis useful to solutions of patients' way-finding problems, while identifying the causes for difficulty of their way-finding due to differences of perception between hospital building designer and user groups.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to identify the role of digital shadow work(DSW) in the psychological mechanism that controls using and purchasing digital device accessories. More specifically, it is to reveal how the digital device user's perception of DSW is formed and how the formed DSW affects purchase and what results it will bring. Design/methodology/approach Ground theory method(GTM), one of qualitative appoaches, is adopted as research methodology. By interviewing total twenty five users, the data are analyzed by open coding amd axis coding. Two core codes are selected by selective coding and interpreted by DSW theory. Findings We find concern for potential DSW and generation of new DSW. Concern for potential DSW lead to the purchase of accessorie which would be supposed to reduce potential DSW. During purchasing accessories, quest type DSW, which provices flow experience and expertise, could be genterated. This means that there would be dynamics of DSW in the purchase process of digital device accessories.
