PURPOSES : The rumble strip installed at the highway near the tollgate has the purpose to reduce the vehicle velocity or prevent sleepiness by awakening people to the danger. These rumble strip has different vibration decibel from the rumble strip shapes, resulting in some fatigue damage to human because a driver suffers from a lot of stress and displeasure. In this connection, the objective of this paper is to analyze the vibration decibel perceived by a driver in the vehicle under some conditions. METHODS : The vibration decibel conveyed from the tire can be analyzed. The frequency analysis methods were used according to DFT (Discrete Fourier Transform) analysis, FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) analysis, CPB (Constant Percentage Bandwidth) analysis. But the frequency analysis method in this paper is the 1/24 OCT(Octave) band analysis because of the convenience of the analysis and the overall vibration amplitude along the frequency. RESULTS : By using the results of the vibration decibel after analyzing the 1/24 OCT band analysis, these results can be compared from some conditions (e.g., rumble strip shape, uniform velocity of a vehicle, road condition, mass of a vehicle). As a result, the numerical values of decibel are not directly proportional to the vehicle velocity. CONCLUSIONS : At the condition that a vehicle is passing by the rumble strip, the value of a vibration decibel at the rumble strip of the cylinder shape is smaller than the rumble strip of rectangular shape regardless of the rumble strip depth and width. At the mass condition, the more a vehicle is massive, the more the vibration decibel increases. At the road condition, the vibration decibel at the wet road is smaller than the value at dry road condition.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of sleep duration on suicidal ideation in Korean adolescents. Methods: This study used the data drawn from Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-Based Survey in 2013. A total data of 63,301 adolescents were included in the analysis. Included variables were general characteristics, health status variables, hours of sleep, and suicidal ideation. For sample description weighted percentage and means were used. Rao-Scott ${\chi}^2$ test and simple and multiple logistic regression with dummy variables were conducted with use of SAS 9.2. Results: Among general characteristics and health status variables, gender, grade, school level, school achievement, family's economic status, living with parents, subjective health, happiness, stress, and feeling of despair were found to be significantly related to suicidal ideation. Rates of having suicidal ideation were 22.4% in the case of students with less than 5 hours of sleep and 12.9% in students with 8 or more hours of sleep. After controlling general characteristics and subjectively perceived variables, hours of sleep was still significantly related to suicidal ideation. That is, compared to adolescents with 8 hours or more of sleep, those with less than 5 hours of sleep showed significantly higher risk for having suicidal ideation (adjusted odds ratio: 1.20, p<.001). Conclusion: These findings suggest that short sleep has negative effects on psychological health in adolescents. Particularly, less than 5 hours of sleep has harmful effect on adolescents' increased risk for having suicidal ideation.
Purpose: This study was a systematic review and meta-analysis to explore the factors related to quality of life in heart transplant recipients. Methods: To identify studies that suggested the factors related to the quality of life in heart transplant recipients, we searched the articles published from 1974 to November 2018 using Six databases, PubMed, CINAHL, EMBASE, Cochrane, KMBASE and RISS. Results: Factors related to quality of life in heart transplant recipients were categorized into six domains based on the health-related quality of life model introduced by Ferrans: individual, environmental, biological function, symptoms, functional status, and general health perception. In the meta-analysis, 34 factors were used and 17 factors having significant effect sizes were as follows: self-efficacy, demoralization, perceived control, current occupational status, age, marital status, health promotion life style in the individual characteristics; stress in environmental characteristics; physical function status, creatinine level, left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) in biological function; anxiety, depression, symptom frequency and distress in symptoms domain; coping, self-care compliance in functional status. Conclusion: The findings indicate that the multi-dimensional factors influencing the quality of life in heart transplant recipients and provide the evidence for developing effective interventions for improving the quality of life of recipients.
This study aimed to find out the factors influencing the fall of middle-aged women aged 40 to 64 and to use it as basic data for the development of a fall prevention program. The study was based on raw data from the 2019 Korea Community Health Survey. To establish the impact of fall experience of middle-aged women, descriptive statistics, chi-square test, and multiple logistic regression were used. Of the 43,917 people surveyed, 11.9% of middle-aged women said that they had experienced a fall. Falls were more common among women with increasing age or without a spouse. Those who experienced a lot of depression and perceived stress and were diagnosed with diabetes also had a higher fall experience. In the case of drinking, women who drank more than non-drinkers were more likely to fall. The results of this study can lead to a better understanding middle-aged women who have experienced falls, and they can be used as basic data for the development of related health programs.
This study was conducted in order to figure out sexual experience among in Korean adolescents and its affecting factors. For the research method, it was a secondary analysis using raw data from the 13th(2017) Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey Data and the data from 62,276 adolescents were used for the analysis in this study. For the data analysis, frequency analysis, ${\chi}^2$-test, and logistic regression analysis were conducted by using SPSS 23.0 program, As a result of the research, the factors on sexual experience in male students included grade, school record, living type, economic state, depression, perceived stress, suicidal ideation, drinking, smoking, drug, and experience of sex education(p<.001) while those in female students included grade, living type, father's education, economic state, depression, suicidal ideation, drinking, smoking, drug, and experience of sex education(p<.001). Therefore, it is necessary to approach for helping from clinical settings, communities, and school healthcare through effective education and programs for preventing sexual problems, which reflect the factors associated with sex experience among adolescents in future.
