중 탄산 및 인산염 완층액 처리가 노계육의 조직구조 및 열안정성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Bicarbonate and Phosphate Buffer Treatments on the Structure and Thermal Stability of Spent Layer Meat)

  • 0.05 M 중탄산 나트륨 및 0.04 M 인산염 완충용액 (pH 8.3)으로 처리한 노계육 가슴살 및 다리살 시료의 경우 근섬유 단백의 불안정화를 시사하는 열변성 온도의 저하가 관찰되었다. 이러한 현상을 근섬유 단백중 95 Kdalton 및 55 Kdalton protein의 추출과 관련 가능성이 있는 것으로 판단되었으며 처리 시료의 근섬유구조 변화(Z-line의 파괴)와도 관련 가능성이 있는 것으로 판단되었다.

A reaction-diffusion modeling of carbonation process in self-compacting concrete

  • In this paper, a reaction-diffusion model of carbonation process in self-compacting concrete (SCC) was realized with a consideration of multi-field couplings. Various effects from environmental conditions, e.g. ambient temperature, relative humidity, carbonation reaction, were incorporated into a numerical simulation proposed by ANSYS. In addition, the carbonation process of SCC was experimentally investigated and compared with a conventionally vibrated concrete (CVC). It is found that SCC has a higher carbonation resistance than CVC with a comparable compressive strength. The numerical solution analysis agrees well with the test results, indicating that the proposed model is appropriate to calculate and predict the carbonation process in SCC. The parameters sensitivity analysis also shows that the carbon dioxide diffusion coefficient and moisture field are essentially crucial to the carbonation process in SCC.

Flexural behavior of concrete beams reinforced with aramid fiber reinforced polymer (AFRP) bars

  • Due to the low elastic modulus of FRP, concrete members reinforced with FRP rebars show greater deflections than members reinforced with steel rebars. Deflection is one of the important factors to consider the serviceability of horizontal members. In this study flexural test of AFRP reinforced concrete beams was performed considering reinforcement ratio and compressive strength as parameters. The test results indicated that flexural capacity and stiffness increase in proportion to the reinforcement ratio. The test results were compared with existing proposed equations for the effective moment of inertia including ACI 440. The most of the proposed equations were found to over-estimate the effective moment of inertia while the equation proposed by Bischoff and Scanlon (2007) most accurately predicted the values obtained through actual testing.

Basis Mode of Turbulent Flame in a Swirl-Stabilized Gas Turbine using LES and POD

  • Unsteady numerical study has been conducted on combustion dynamics of a lean-premixed swirl-stabilized gas turbine swirl injector. A three-dimensional computation method utilizing the message passing interface (MPI) parallel architecture, large eddy simulation(LES), and proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) technique was applied. The unsteady turbulent flame dynamics are simulated so that the turbulent flame structure can be characterized in detail. It was observed that some fuel lumps escape from the primary combustion zone, and move downstream and consequently produce hot spots. Those flame dynamics coincides with experimental data. In addition, basis modes of the unsteady turbulent flame are characterized using proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) analysis. The flame structure based on odd basis modes is apparently larger than that of even ones. The flame structure can be extracted from the summation of the basis modes and eigenvectors at any moment.

Algorithm for Improving the Computing Power of Next Generation Wireless Receivers

  • Next generation wireless receivers demand low computational complexity algorithms with high computing power in order to perform fast signal detections and error estimations. Several signal detection and estimation algorithms have been proposed for next generation wireless receivers which are primarily designed to provide reasonable performance in terms of signal to noise ratio (SNR) and bit error rate (BER). However, none of them have been chosen for direct implementation as they offer high computational complexity with relatively lower computing power. This paper presents a low-complexity power-efficient algorithm that improves the computing power and provides relatively faster signal detection for next generation wireless multiuser receivers. Measurement results of the proposed algorithm are provided and the overall system performance is indicated by BER and the computational complexity. Finally, in order to verify the low-complexity of the proposed algorithm we also present a formal mathematical proof.

Full-scale experimental evaluation of a panelized brick veneer wall system under simulated wind loading

  • Brick veneer over steel stud backup wall is lighter and easier to construct compared to brick veneer over concrete masonry backup wall. However, due to the relatively low stiffness of the steel stud backup, the brick veneer tends to crack under wind load. This paper briefly introduces a new panelized brick veneer with steel frame backup wall system that is developed to potentially address this problem. The experimental study of the performance of this system under simulated wind loading is discussed in detail. The test setup details and the test specimens are introduced, results of major interests are presented, and performance of the new system is evaluated based on the test results.

  • This work describes a model development and numerical simulation of detailed combustion mechanisms of RDX/GAP/BTIN propellants. The analysis is based on the conservation equations of mass, energy, and species concentrations for both the condensed and gas phases, and takes into account finite-rate chemical kinetics and variable thermophysical properties. The model has been applied to study the combustion wave structures and burning characteristics of RDX/GAP/BTIN propellants over a broad range of pressures. Reasonably good agreement is achieved between the calculated and measured burning rate at atmospheric pressure. But the model calculation does not result in dark zone experimentally observed.

  • Measurements of global emissions, flame radiation and flame dimensions are presented for unconfined turbulent-jet and precessing-jet diffusion flames. Precessing jet flames are characterised by increases in global flame radiation and global flame residence time for methane and propane fuels, however a strong dependency of the NOx emission indices on the fuel type exists. The fuel type dependence is considered to be because soot radiation is more effective than gas-radiation at reducing global flame temperatures relative to adiabatic flame temperatures and reducing the NO production rate.

코사인 유사도를 이용한 이주패턴 변화의 정량적 측정 (Quantitative Measure of the Changes of Migration Patterns Using Cosine Similarity)

  • Migration is defined as the movement of people between residential places, and represents interactions between regions. Changes in migration involve changes in both the number of migrants toward/from regions and migration patterns across regions. However, most migration studies have focused only on the change in migrants, while no empirical study captures changes in migration patterns. In this paper, I present a function using the cosine similarity to measure changes in migration patterns, and apply it to 2001-2016 migration data of Korea. The results show that the migration patterns of Korea shifted in 2007, resulting in two distinct clusters. Local areas experienced various migration pattern changes despite few changes in the number of migrants.

In this study, analyze the impact of inventory to company's operating profit and the impact of distribution center consolidation to total inventory of company.
