화상분석법을 이용한 하이브리드 콘크리트의 공극구조 특성 및 투수성 평가 (Estimation of Pore Structure Characteristic and Permeability of Hybrid Concrete by Image Analysis Method)

  • PURPOSES : In this study, an image analysis method is used to evaluate the pore structure characteristics and permeability of hybrid concrete. METHODS : The binder weight of hybrid concrete is set to $400kg/m^3$, $370kg/m^3$, and $350kg/m^3$, and for each value of binder weight, the pore structure and permeability of concrete mixture is evaluated. The permeability of hybrid concrete is evaluated using a rapid chloride penetration test(RCPT). RESULTS : The concrete pore structure characteristics of hybrid concrete reveals that as the binder weight is reduced, the entrained air is reduced and the entrapped air is increased. The permeability of the hybrid concrete for all values was measured to be below 1000 C, which indicates a "Very Low" level of permeability relative to the evaluation standard of KS F 2711. Additionally, as the binder weight is decreased, there is a significant increase in the permeability of chloride ions. CONCLUSIONS : In this study, the pore structure characteristics of hybrid concrete at different binder weights shows that as the binder weight is reduced, the entrained air is reduced and the entrapped air is increased. Consequently, chloride ion penetration resistance of the hybrid concrete is diminished. As a result, it is expected that this will reduce the concrete's durability.

  • This study was performed to observe the bacterial adhesion and penetration to e-PTFE membrane following guided tissue regeneration(GTR) procedure and to evaluate the association of the membrane exposure and bacterial contamination with the clinical outcome. For the study, ten infrabony defects in 9 patient were treated by mucoperiosteal flap operation including placement of the e-PTFE membrane. The treated teeth were monitored weekly for the membrane exposure, gingival recession and gingival inflammation. The membranes were retrieved after 4 to 6 weeks, examined by SEM for bacterial contamination and adherent connective tisue elements, and observed under LM for the bacterial penetration into membrane. Three months postsurgery, the defect sites were clinically reexamined for the changes in attachment level and probing depth. Comparison of the ultrastuctural findings and clinical outcome revealed that extent of membrane exposure and bacterial contamination of the membrane was inversely associated with clinical attachment gain. From this finding, the extent of membrane exposure and the bacterial contamination on the apical portion of the e-PTFE membrane at the time of removal seemed to be a critical determinant on the clinical outcome of GTR and the membrane exposure needs to be controlled for optimal results.

A novel retentive type of dental implant prosthesis: marginal fitness of the cementless double crown type implant prosthesis evaluated by bacterial penetration and viability

  • PURPOSE. This study aims to compare the marginal fitness of two types of implant-supported fixed dental prosthesis, i.e., cementless fixation (CL.F) system and cement-retained type. MATERIALS AND METHODS. In each group, ten specimens were assessed. Each specimen comprised implant lab analog, titanium abutment fabricated with a 2-degree tapered axial wall, and zirconia crown. The crown of the CL.F system was retained by frictional force between abutment and relined composite resin. In the cement-retained type, zinc oxide eugenol cement was used to set crown and abutment. All specimens were sterilized with ethylene oxide, immersed in Prevotella intermedia culture in a 50 mL tube, and incubated with rotation. After 48 h, the specimens were washed thoroughly before separating the crown and abutment. The bacteria that penetrated into the crown-abutment interface were collected by washing with 500 µL of sterile saline. The bacterial cell number was quantified using the agar plate count technique. The BacTiter-Glo Microbial Cell Viability Assay Kit was used to measure bacterial adenosine triphosphate (ATP)-bioluminescence, which reflects the bacterial viability. The t-test was performed, and the significance level was set at 5%. RESULTS. The number of penetrating bacterial cells assessed by colony-forming units was approximately 33% lower in the CL.F system than in the cement-retained type (P<.05). ATP-bioluminescence was approximately 41% lower in the CL.F system than in the cement-retained type (P<.05). CONCLUSION. The CL.F system is more resistant to bacterial penetration into the abutment-crown interface than the cement-retained type, thereby indicating a precise marginal fit.

  • The laser welding in the automotive industries has been used widely for the butt joint of blank sheets rather than the lap joint of automotive body panels. But as a substitute far the spot welding of automotive body panels, the so called three dimensional laser welding will be important far the body panel engineers. Specially the laser welding of body panels with a smooth weld line is applied increasingly, for example, to the side panels. So far, some criteria of the laser weld quality was suggested by in-house regulations or national standards from experiences and/or rule of thumbs. In the manufacturing places, a go or no-go criterion is adopted because of the simplicity or a lack of rational criteria. It is true specially for the selection of the process parameters, which gives the basic causes for the good quality of laser welds. In this study, the effects of joint combination, gap and welding speed on the lap joint $CO_2$ laser welding of two mild steel sheets with different thicknesses are obtained through a $2{\times}3{\times}7$ factorial experiment. The results of the weld quality are statistically analysed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and compared between two characteristic zones, which are separated by the type of sectional shapes and the level of input energy per volume. The thickness combinations are 0.8mm/1.2mm, 1.2mm/0.8mm of mild steel sheets. The welding speed covers from the deep penetration to the partial penetration. The gap size has three levels of no-gap, 0.16m, and 0.26mm. The bead width, penetration depth and input energy per volume are measured and used as the weld quality criteria.

근관확대 및 세척 주사바늘의 근관 내 위치가 치근단 3 mm 부위의 근관 세정에 미치는 영향 (Effects of canal enlargement and irrigation needle depth on the cleaning of the root canal system at 3 mm from the apex)

  • Objectives: The aim of this study was to test the hypothesis, that the effectiveness of irrigation in removing smear layer in the apical third of root canal system is dependent on the depth of placement of the irrigation needle into the root canal and the enlargement size of the canal. Materials and Methods: Eighty sound human lower incisors were divided into eight groups according to the enlargement size (#25, #30, #35 and #40) and the needle penetration depth (3 mm from working length, WL-3 mm and 9 mm from working length, WL-9 mm). Each canal was enlarged to working length with Profile.06 Rotary Ni-Ti files and irrigated with 5.25% NaOCl. Then, each canal received a final irrigation with 3 mL of 3% EDTA for 4 min, followed by 5 mL of 5.25% NaOCl at different level (WL-3 mm and WL-9 mm) from working length. Each specimen was prepared for the scanning electron microscope (SEM). Photographs of the 3mm area from the apical constriction of each canal with a magnification of ${\times}250$, ${\times}500$, ${\times}1,000$, ${\times}2,500$ were taken for the final evaluation. Results: Removal of smear layer in WL-3 mm group showed a significantly different effect when the canal was enlarged to larger than #30. There was a significant difference in removing apical smear layer between the needle penetration depth of WL-3 mm and WL-9 mm. Conclusions: Removal of smear layer from the apical portion of root canals was effectively accomplished with apical instrumentation to #35/40 06 taper file and 3 mm needle penetration from the working length.

구성 부품의 중요도를 활용한 SES/MB 프레임워크 기반 전차 취약성 분석 (A Vulnerability Analysis for Armored Fighting Vehicle based on SES/MB Framework using Importance of Component)

  • 본 논문에서는 전투 시스템 중 대표적인 지상 공격 수단인 전차를 대상으로 모델링 및 시뮬레이션 기법을 적용한 취약성 분석 방법에 관한 내용을 다룬다. SES/MB(System Entity Structure/ Model Base) 프레임워크는 복잡한 시스템의 구조를 계층적으로 표현할 수 있으며, 다양한 부품으로 구성된 전차를 모델링하기에 용이하다. 전차의 취약성은 전차가 위협탄에 의해 피격되었을 때, 장갑 및 부품이 파손되거나 관통된 것을 기준으로 분석할 수 있으며 관통 여부는 관통 해석식을 통해 위협탄의 관통 성능과 장갑 및 부품의 방호 성능을 비교한 결과에 따라 결정된다. 방호 성능은 일반 부품과 장갑으로 분류한 전차의 부품 종류 및 정의한 속성에 따라 결정되고, 모든 부품은 중요도를 산정하기 위한 가중치를 가진다. 전차의 취약성을 분석하기 위해 개발한 시뮬레이션 프로그램에서는 위협탄에 의해 관통된 부품 및 피해를 입은 부품의 중요도를 기반으로 하여 전체 취약성을 분석하고, 개별 부품이 전차에서 담당하는 기능을 정의하여 기능별 피해 기준에 따라 취약성을 분석한다.

  • 해저터널의 시공은 육상터널의 시공과 몇 가지 다른 부분이 존재하는데 지하수 이외에 해수가 존재하여 고수압을 받으며, 시공 중 지반보강이 육상터널보다 매우 어려운 점 등이 대표적이다. 그러므로 해저터널 시공 시 시공트러블 발생의 예방은 매우 중요하다. 본 고에서는 서해안 해저 약 60 m에 시공한 소형 슬러리 TBM의 굴진 성능을 분석하기 위하여 대상 지반의 지질학적 특성들과 기계적 특성들을 DB로 구축하였다. 구축한 DB 중 추력, 토크 및 RPM 등이 순굴진율에 주는 영향을 확인하고자 각 변수들 간의 상관분석을 실시하였다. 또한 구축된 DB로부터 비에너지와 FPI와의 상관관계를 분석하고 순 굴진율을 예측할 수 있는 경험식을 제시하였다.

Evaluation of structural safety reduction due to water penetration into a major structural crack in a large concrete project

  • Structural damage to an arch dam is often of major concern and must be evaluated for probable rehabilitation to ensure safe, regular, normal operation. This evaluation is crucial to prevent any catastrophic or failure consequences for the life time of the dam. If specific major damage such as a large crack occurs to the dam body, the assessments will be necessary to determine the current level of safety and predict the resistance of the structure to various future loading such as earthquakes, etc. This study investigates the behavior of an arch dam cracked due to water pressure. Safety factors (SFs), of shear and compressive tractions were calculated at the surfaces of the contraction joints and the cracks. The results indicated that for cracking with an extension depth of half the thickness of the dam body, for both cases of penetration and non-penetration of water load into the cracks, SFs only slightly reduces. However, in case of increasing the depth of crack extension into the entire thickness of the dam body, the friction angle of the cracked surface is crucial; however, if it reduces, the normal loading SFs of stresses and joints tractions reduce significantly.

전기로 산화슬래그를 혼입한 초기재령 콘크리트의 역학적 특성 평가 (Evaluation of Mechanical Properties of Early-age Concrete Containing Electric Arc Furnace Oxidizing Slag)

  • 본 연구에서는 전기로 산화슬래그 잔골재를 30%, 50% 치환하여 초기재령 콘크리트의 역학적 특성을 평가하였다. 굳지 않은 콘크리트에서 슬럼프, 공기량, 단위용적질량을 검토하였으며, 경화 콘크리트에서 압축강도와 촉진 염화물 침투 실험을 진행하였다. 전기로 산화슬래그 잔골재 혼입량이 증가함에 따라, 슬럼프 및 공기량이 감소하였으며, 이는 전기로 산화슬래그의 다량의 미립분 및 거친 표면으로 인한 것으로 사료된다. 또한, 압축강도 발현율을 검토한 결과, 재령 7일까지 최대 111% 증가하였지만, 재령 28일에서 약 90%까지 감소하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 전기로 산화슬래그 혼입 콘크리트의 초기재령에서의 촉진 염화물 침투 실험결과 OPC 콘크리트와 큰 차이가 나타나지 않음에 따라 콘크리트 대체 골재로 사용함에 있어 충분한 성능을 갖고 있을 것으로 판단된다.

고령지 개간지 밭의 토양수분과 경도 및 작물수량의 공간변이성 (Spatial Variability of Soil Moisture Content, Soil Penetration Resistance and Crop Yield on the Leveled Upland in the Reclaimed Highland)

  • 고령지 경사지에서 모래성분이 많은 사양토 (석비레) 개간지의 토양특성에 대한 공간변이성과 분포도를 작성하여 공간적 변이를 살펴보고자 각각 $10m{\times}50m$의 면적을 가지는 5개의 포장에서 감자, 양파, 당근, 배추, 무를 재배하여 시험을 수행하였다. 각 포장의 조사지점수는 토양수분 33, 토양경도 11, 작물수량 33이었다. Semivariance 분석 결과, 대부분의 모형은 spherical 모형을 따르고 있었으며, 각 모형에 대해 공간적으로 연속성이 인정되는 거리를 나타내는 범위 (range)는 감자재배구에서 33-35 m로 고르게 큰 값을 보였고, 배추재배지는 5-6 m로 모형에 대한 연속성이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 수분과 경도 및 수량에 대한 변이계수는 14-59%로 다양하였고, 감자수량의 변이계수가 59%로 가장 높았으며, 무재배지의 수분은 14%로 낮았다. 표준편차 5% 유의수준에서 10%의 오차를 가지는 경우를 기준으로 적정시료의 수를 조사한 결과, 필요한 시료수는 수분 8-40개, 경도 7-25개, 수량 424-4,6787개가 필요한 것으로 분석되었다. Variogram과 분포도를 통해 수분과 경도 및 작물수량의 공간적 분포 및 변이성을 쉽게 파악할 수 있으며, 이를 활용한다면 보다 효율적이고 정밀한 토양관리가 가능할 것으로 판단된다.
