PAHs와 TBT에 대한 동물플랑크톤의 반응

  • 인간이나 환경에 해로운 영향을 주는 지속성 유기오염물질의 독성을 동물플랑크톤 중 요각류를 대상으로 실험하였다. 실험에 사용된 요각류는 장목만에서 주로 가을에 많은 출현을 보인 Acartia erythraea와 늦가을부터 그 다음해 봄까지 우점하는 A. omorli였다. 지속성 유기오염물에 대한 요각류의 독성을 평가하기 위해 3가지의 실험을 실시하였다. 광양만에서 주로 나타나는 5가지 PAHs에 대한 A. omorli 48h-LC50을 구하였고, 온도에 따른 Benzo(a)pyrene과 TBT의 독성의 변화를 Brine shrimp(Artemia)를 이용해 실험하였으며, PAHs 중에서 독성이 강한 Benso(a)Pyrene에 노출된 먹이를 섭취한 Acartia erythraea와 A. omorli의 egg Production, hatching rate, fecal Pellet의 변화를 측정하였다. A. omorli의 48h-LC50으로 조사된 결과 Fluoranthene과 Benzo(a)pyrene의 독성이 강하게 나타난다. 온도실험에서는 동일한 유해물질을 가지고 실험을 하더라도 온도의 변화에 따라 급격한 독성의 차이가 나타날 수 있고, 유해물질간에도 온도에 따라서 나타나는 독성에 대한 특성이 다르게 나타났다. Benzo(a)Pyrene에 노출된 먹이는 요각류의 egg Production, hatching rate, fecal Pellet에 영향을 미치고 있으며, 특히 농도와 실험시간에 따른 부정적 영향들을 보였다.

산림바이오매스 부존 잠재량 및 임목생장량 분석을 통한 미이용 산림바이오매스 활용 국내산 Wood pellet 생산 가능량 예측 연구 (Estimation of the production potential of domestic wood pellets using unused forest biomass by analyzing the potential volume of forest biomass and the growth of forest trees)

  • 본 연구에서는 수입되는 바이오매스를 대체하고 증가하는 국내 RPS의무비율을 보다 효과적으로 대응하기 위해 우드펠릿으로 사용가능한 국내 산림바이오매스 부존자원을 파악하기 위하여 선행연구 방법과 매년 추가로 성장하는 임목생장률을 기준으로 미이용 산림바이오매스의 양을 산정하였다. 그 결과, 임목가공 중 발생하는 부산물 중 20%를 우드펠릿 원료로 사용한다고 가정했을 경우 두 가지 추정 방법으로 도출된 평균값을 기준으로 우드펠릿 생산 가능량을 예측 하였다. 그 결과 미이용 부산물은 2016년 199만 톤, 2020년 228만 톤, 2030년 308만 톤이 발생되고 원목가공 과정에서 발생되는 임목부산물(피죽, 톱밥 등) 중 20%가 우드펠릿 원료로 활용될 경우 2016년 258만 톤/년, 2020년 295만 톤/년 2030년 398만 톤/년의 원재료가 추가되어 미이용 부산물과 원목가공 과정 중 발생되는 부산물로 생산 가능한 우드펠릿 양은 2016년에 274만 톤/년, 2020년 314만 톤/년 2030년 423만 톤/년의 우드펠릿이 생산 가능하다는 결과를 도출 하였다.

Effect of Moisture Content of Sawdust and Length to Diameter Ratio of a Hole in Flat-die Pelletizer on The Fuel Characteristics of Wood Pellets Produced with Quercus mongolica, Pinus densiflora, Pinus rigida and Larix kaempferi

  • This study was conducted to identify the potential of Quercus mongolica (QUM), Pinus densiflora (PID) and Pinus rigida (PIR) as a raw material for pellet production. Larix kaempferi (LAK), which has mostly been used for pellet production in Korea, was also used as a control. All specimens contained very minimal amounts of sulfur and chlorine. Ash content of LAK was the lowest, followed by PID, PIR and QUM. For the size distribution, the mass fraction between 0.42 mm and 0.25 mm was the highest in PIR. Most fuel characteristics of the produced wood pellets improved with the use of 12% moisture content (MC) particles and the increase of the ratio of length to diameter of a hole in flat-die (L/D ratio). When the MC, bulk density and durability of QUM, PID, PIR and LAK pellets was compared with the standards of the KFRI and ISO, the use of wood particles of 12% MC and flat-die with an L/D ratio of 5.00 for PID particles are suitable for high-quality pellets in the aspects of all fuel characteristics. For PIR and QUM, further work is needed to seek the optimum conditions for the production of high-quality and durable pellets.

양식업 배합사료 직접지불제의 적정 지원수준 결정에 관한 연구 : 직접지불제의 생산 및 소득효과 분석을 중심으로 (A Study on the Determination of Optimum Level of Payments in the Direct Payment Program for Aquaculture Extruded Pellets)

  • This study is aimed at investigating optimum level of payments in the direct payment program for aquaculture extruded pellets both theoretically and practically by analyzing the effects on production and income in accordance with Green Box conditions of WTO Agreement on Agriculture. In particular, by analyzing both effects on production and income, it evaluates and compares payments affecting to the level of production and income, respectively. Analysis results indicate that the optimum level of payments in the direct payment program for aquaculture extruded pellets is determined by the growth rate of farmed fish, farming period, price and volume of extruded pellets, and additional amount of cost increase and decrease. Suppose that growth rates of farmed fish by extruded pellets(EP) and raw fish - based moist pellets(MP) are the same, it reveals the optimum level of payment should be lowered from the current level of payment. However, when the growth rate of farmed fish by EP is lower than that by MP, the optimum level of payment should be raised from the current level and total amount of payments by area should be increased as well.

Effect of Cassoy-urea Pellet as a Protein Source in Concentrate on Ruminal Fementation and Digestibility in Cattle

  • Four male crossbred native beef cattle (average body weight of 427.7 kg) were randomly allocated to four types of cassoy-urea pellet as a source of protein in concentrate according to a $4{\times}4$ Latin square design to determine effect of diets on ruminal fermentation and nutrient digestibility. The four types of cassoy-urea pellets contained cassava hay, soybean meal, urea and binding agent at 79.2:19.8:0:1 (27.9% CP dry matter), 78.4:19.6:1:1 (30.4% CP), 77.6:19.4:2:1 (33.0% CP) and 99:0:0:1 (23.8% CP) for dietary treatments; 1, 2, 3 and 4, respectively. All four concentrate mixtures contained similar crude protein levels (11% CP) and were fed to animals in two equal parts (0.5% of body weight per day) while urea-treated rice straw (5% urea) was given ad libitum. The experiment revealed that dietary concentrate treatments had no effect on dry matter intake while digestibilities of neutral-detergent fiber and crude protein were higher (p<0.05) in cattle fed dietary treatments 1, 2 and 3 than in cattle fed dietary treatment 4. Ruminal ammonia-nitrogen ($NH_3$-N), was higher and acetic acid concentration (C2) and ratio of C2 to propionic acid (C3) were lower (p<0.05) in cattle fed dietary treatments 1, 2 and 3 than in those on treatment 4. It is concluded that use of cassoy-urea pellet as a protein source in concentrates for cattle resulted in improvement of digestibility, ruminal fermentation and rumen ecology. Further research using cassoy-urea pellet in feeding trials with milking cows and fattening beef should be undertaken.

외인성 호르몬 처리가 강도다리 (Platichthys stellatus)의 배정에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Exogenous Hormones on Spermiation in the Starry Flounder Platichthys stellatus)

  • Two experiments were designed to examine short-term effects of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), and long-term effects of gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist (GnRHa), $17{\alpha}-hydroxyprogesterone$ (17P), and $17{\alpha},20{\beta}-dihydroxy-4-pregnen-3-one\;(17,20{\beta}P)$, alone or in combination, on milt production of the starry flounder Platichthys stellatus. In the first experiment, fish were injected with either 200 IU hCG/kg body weight or the same volume of marine fish Ringer's solution (MFRS). In the second experiment, each fish was implanted with a blank cholesterol pellet (control), $200\;{\mu}g$ GnRHa, $500\;{\mu}g$ 17P, or $100\;{\mu}g\;17,20{\beta}P/kg$ body weight alone or in combination. In the first experiment, hCG injection resulted in an increase in the expressible milt volume and a decrease in the spermatocrit (Sct). After pellet implantation in the second experiment, the milt volume was increased in males treated with GnRHa, GnRHa+17P, or $GnRHa+17,20{\beta}P$. On day 7 after hormone pellet implantation, the milt volume began to increase, and on day 14, the milt volume in the $GnRHa+500\;{\mu}g$ 17P group was significantly higher than that in the control group. Compared with the control group, the hormone pellet-treated groups had a significant reduction in the mean Sct and sperm concentration (Sc) at day 7 after pellet implantation, while there were no differences in total sperm number. The results suggest that increases in milt volume are generally associated with decreases in Sct and SC, suggesting that the main mechanism for the increase in milt volume was milt hydration.

  • We are now currently facing serious climate changes such as super typhoon, flood, intense heat, severe cold, super hurricane, drought, desertification, destruction of ecosystem, marine pollution, reduction of food production, destruction of tropical forests, exhaustion of water resources, climate refugees, etc. All of the above mainly derive from greenhouse gas exhaustion. Such harmful consequence might directly affect mankind's sustainable development. If we keep using resources that emits greenhouse gases, the global temperature will rise about $3.2^{\circ}C$ by year 2050. In case of $3^{\circ}C$ rise in temperature, it will result in abnormal climate which will bring about severe property damage. Moreover, 20~50% of the ecosystem will become extinct. As Korea's economy increasingly expands, so do our energy consumption rises. And because of the consequences that can be driven by increasing rate of resource use, not just Korea itself, but also the whole world should seriously concern about greenhouse gases. Although agricultural division only takes up about 3.2% of total greenhouse gas emission, the ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs are taking voluntary actions to gradually reduce $CO_2$ and so does each and every related organizations. In order to reduce $CO_2$, introduction of new and renewable energy in farm house warming is crucial. In other words, implementing wood-pellet boiler and geothermal heat boiler can largly reduce $CO_2$ emission compared to diesel boiler. More importantly, not only wood-pellet and geothermal heat is pollution-free but they also have economic advantages some-what. In this thesis, the economic advantage and sustainablity will be introduced and proved through comparing practical analysis of surveyed farm house under structure employing wood-pellet boiler and geothermal heat boiler with Agriculture-Economic Statistic of 2012 who uses diesel boiler.

펠릿 이송용 이젝터의 구동노즐 구성에 따른 유동 및 이송특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (Effect of Primary Nozzle Configuration on the Flow and Transfer Characteristics in an Ejector System for Pellet Transfer)

  • The effects of design parameters on the pellet transport rate in the ejector system which is widely used in the production processes of automotive parts were investigated experimentally. The primary nozzle geometry, the area ratio (R) of nozzle exit cross-sectional area to mixing chamber cross-sectional area and the distance (S) from primary nozzle exit to mixing chamber entrance were considered as the design parameters. The area ratios of the primary nozzle were varied from R=0.10 to R=0.25, 0.30, 0.40 and 0.55. The primary nozzle was positioned at the non-dimensional distance (S/D) of 1.30, 1.87, 2.44, 3.00 and 3.75, normalized using the mixing chamber diameter (D). The design parameters were determined to run with high efficiency by measuring the pellets transport rate. The geometry and the area ratio (R) of the primary nozzle had an effect on the pellet transport rate of the ejector system, and the area ratio of R=0.3 was carefully selected after taking the minimum fluidization velocity and transport rate of applied pellets into account. The higher pellet transport rate with the variation of the distance (S/D) was observed at S/D of 2.44.

열수 주입법에 의한 메탄가스 하이드레이트 펠릿의 해리 특성에 관한 실험 연구 (Experimental Study on the Dissociation Characteristics of Methane Hydrate Pellet by Hot Water Injection)

  • GTS 기술은 천연가스 하이드레이트 생산, 해양수송 및 재기화의 3 단계로 구성되며, 대규모 재기화 플랜트의 효율적 운용을 위해서는 하이드레이트 펠릿의 재기화에 필요한 열수 온도와 유량의 정확한 예측이 필수적이다. 하이드레이트 펠릿이 열수에서 해리할 때 펠릿 표면에서 분출되는 가스는 주변 유동장과 열전달 특성에 영향을 미칠 것이며 본 실험에서는 가압된 용기내의 중저온 열수에서 해리하는 메탄가스 하이드레이트 펠릿의 용해특성을 연구하였다. 해리과정 중 변화하는 펠릿 형상을 관찰하고 해리 완료시간을 측정함으로써 하이드레이트 전환율, 열수 온도 및 유동속도가 해리에 미치는 영향을 파악하였으며, 펠릿 표면에서 분출되어 상승하는 메탄가스 기포류가 유발한 2 차유동이 열전달률을 증가시켜 해리 완료시간이 단축됨을 확인하였다.
