  • Concrete has a different fracture mechanism from the other materials, with the existing of FPZ at the ahead of its cracks, and represents the softening curves at the post-peak load in the load-displacement diagrams. So, it can transmit the stress at the post-peak load. This can not be understood with the traditional concept of strength, but with the theory based energy approach. For the purpose of this study is mainly used RILEM(1990 TC89-FMT) and TPM, and the concrete fracture properties have been evaluated according to the its compressive strength. The evaluated fracture properties is $G_{F}$, $a_{c}$, $K_{IC}$ , CTODc, Q etc.c.c.

  • In this paper, we present a study on the 50kW class power station development using lithium-polymer battery. The 50kW class power station purposes to compensate for peak load using 326[V] lithium-polymer battery bank. The output voltage is 380[V] in three-phase, peak load compensation is controlled based on load power. Finally, a 50kW power station system is built to verify the experiment.

  • This paper present the characteristics of the internal induced voltage and arc phenomena in liquid helium at the energy transfer from a superconducting magnet to a load resistor. Especially generation mechanism of the oscillated wave from of the coil terminal voltage is analyzed by considering circuit constant of the superconducting magnet, load condition and arc resistance of the mechanical opening switch. The wavefront and peak portion of the voltage are strongly influenced by arc discharge triggered by the switch separation in liquid helium. Abrupt arc extinction leads to voltage oscillation with an enormous peak. It is suggested that the superconducting magnet should be designed to ensure the internal surge when arc is possibly formed by switch opening or coil short circuit between turns or layers. Finally, a suppression method of the oscillating surge is proposed based on the load condition.

  • It is very important for electric utility to expand generating facilities and transmission equipments in accordance with the increase of electricity demand. Regional electricity demand forecasting is among the most important step for long-term investment and power supply planning. The main objectives of this paper are to develop the methodologies for forecasting regional load demand. The Model consists of four models, regional economy, regional electricity energy demand, areal electricity energy demand. and areal peak load demand. This paper mainly suggests regional electricity energy demand model and areal peak load demand. A case study is also presented.

  • This paper presents frequency modulation method of zero-voltage-transition interleaved DC/DC converter using auxiliary coupled-inductor. In conventional ZVT interlaved converter without semi-conductor devices in auxiliary circuit, the peak-to-peak value of coupled-inductor current has fixed value despite the change of load current. Then, as the load is reduced, the efficiency is reduced because of the conduction loss. The proposed frequency modulation method can reduce the conduction loss by controlling the current of coupled-inductor as the load condition using frequency modulation. The proposed method is verified by experimental results.

A Comparative Study of Maintenance Scheduling Methods for Small Utilities

  • This paper presents a comparative study of a few commonly used maintenance scheduling methods for small utilities that consists solely of thermal generating plants. Two deterministic methods and a stochastic method are examined. The deterministic methods employ the leveling of reserve capacity criterion, of which one uses a heuristic rule to level the deterministic equivalent load obtained by using the product of the unit capacity and its corresponding forced outage rate. The stochastic method simulates the leveling of risk criterion by using the peak load carry capacity of available units. The results indicate that for the size and type of the maintenance scheduling problem described In this study, the stochastic method does not produce a schedule which is significantly better than the deterministic methods.

  • Recently, distribution load analysis using AMR (Automatic Meter Reading) data is researched in electric utilities. Load analysis method based on AMR system generates the typical load profile using load data of AMR customers, estimates the load profile of non-AMR customers, and analyzes the peak load and load profile of the distribution circuits and sectors per every 15 minutes/hour/day/week/month. Typical load profile is generated by the algorithm calculating the average amount of power consumption of each groups having similar load patterns. Traditional customer clustering mechanism uses only contract type code as a key. This mechanism has low accuracy because many customers having same contract code have different load patterns. In this research, We propose a customer clustring mechanism using k-means algorithm with contract type code and AMR data.

  • 일별 최대전력 수요 예측은 국가의 전력 수급운영에 중요한 과제로서 과거부터 다양한 방법들이 끊임없이 연구되어 왔다. 일별 최대전력 수요를 정확히 예측함으로써 발전설비에 대한 일일 운용계획을 작성하고 효율적인 설비 운용을 통해 불필요한 에너지 자원의 소비를 감소하는데 기여할 수 있으며 여름 겨울철 냉난방수요로 인해 발생하는 전력소비 과다로 인한 전력예비율 감소 문제 등에 선제적으로 대비할 수 있는 장점을 가진다. 이러한 일별 최대전력수요 예측을 위하여 본 논문에서는 Seasonal ARIMA, TBATS, Seasonal Reg-ARIMA, NNETAR 모형에 평일, 주말, 특수일에 대한 효과와 온도에 대한 영향을 함께 고려하여 다음날의 일별 최대전력을 예측하는 모형을 연구하였다. 본 논문을 통한 모형들의 예측 성능 평가 결과 요일, 온도를 고려할 수 있는 Seasonal Reg-ARIMA 모형과 NNETAR 모형이 이를 고려할 수 없는 다른 시계열 모형보다 우수한 예측 성능을 나타내었고 그 중 인공신경망을 활용한 NNETAR 모형의 예측 성능이 가장 우수하였다.

  • This paper presents a improved algorithm for the generating capacity reliability evaluation using the frequency and duration approach. One of the specific feature of this algorithm is that propose the cumulative state load model via analytic expression of load duration curve and cumulative load frequency characteristic in conside ration of daily peak load. The paper illustrates the utilization of the proposed algorithm in actual system studies using the generating system of KEPCO. The results presented will provide a valuable reference for maintaining and planing the generating system.

  • 본 연구는 신 재생전원설비가 전력공급설비로서의 역할을 키워감에 따라 나타날 수 있는 공급상의 문제를 신 재생에너지원별로 확률적인 분석을 통하여 제기하였다. 각 원별 패턴은 풍속, 일사량, 그리고 월력에 근거한 조수간만의 차이 등에 의해 영향을 받으며 이들은 확률적 분포를 갖는다는 점에 주목하여 피크공급에 대한 각 원별 기여도에 대한 확률적 분석을 시도하였다. 분석의 결과, 통상적인 전력수급계획에서 각 에너지원별 혹 발전원별 설비이용률만을 고려하여 설비계획에 반영하는 기존의 방법론이 갖는 한계를 보여준다.
