폐열을 이용한 열공급 실증 연구 (An Application Study on the Actual Site for Using Waste Heat)

  • 산업단지와 같은 공장이 많이 밀집되어 있는 곳에서 열은 많이 버려지고 있다. 본 연구는 폐열을 신속하게 이용하기 위하여 폐열을 발굴하여 실재 사업 실행에 이르기 전까지의 내용을 단계적으로 나타내었으며 사업에 직접 적용할 수 있는 폐열 이용방안을 제시하였다. 특히, 열공급처와 수요처의 열공급 및 수요조사를 통하여 상호간의 열 이용을 분석하였으며 열공급 수송의 기본설계를 하였고 열 수요처에 공급하는 열에 대하여 경제성 및 타당성을 검토하였다. 이에 따른 실증분석에 수요처 열사용 투자회수기간은 1,909년으로 비교적 짧은 것으로 나타났다.

불확실한 탐험을 촉진하는 방법 : 사례연구 (Promoting Uncertain Exploration : A Case Study)

  • This study empirically explored what promotes exploration, through a case analysis of a Korean SME (small and medium sized enterprise), based on the research framework which focuses on the identification and the selection of exploratory NPD (new product development) alternatives, and the accumulation of novel capabilities in new technology domains. The learning process of the exploratory NPD project described is as follows. The identification barrier of exploratory NPD project is relatively low. Constructive crisis is germane to selecting exploratory NPD alternatives and to enduring the long payback period. New separated R&D unit is likely to implement the exploratory NPD project. The length of the gestation period of the exploratory NPD project is related with the level of the conflict between old members and new members. This study identified several antecedents of the exploratory NPD project. Prior success promotes the identification process of the exploratory NPD projects. Constructive crisis is related with CEO's personal characteristics such as future oriented and proactive personality. The proactive involvement and persuasion of CEO are germane to reducing the conflict between old and new members and to the success of the exploratory NPD project. Based on the results, this study discusses several implications and future research directions.

바이오에너지의 탄소부채 최소화를 위한 수학적 계획법 (A Mathematical Programming Method for Minimization of Carbon Debt of Bioenergy)

  • 바이오에너지는 탄소중립을 추구하는 방안 중 하나로 간주되고 있다. 그러나 수확된 식물 바이오매스를 연소하면 필연적으로 대기 중 이산화탄소는 일정기간 동안 화석을 연소할 때보다 더 많아진다. 본 논문에서는 이 탄소부채의 총량과 상환기간을 예측하고 최소화하는 방법을 제안한다. 사례연구로는 현재 사용되고 있는 화석연료를 바이오매스로 일시에 전환할 경우에 대한 탄소순환 영향평가를 수행한다. 이를 통해 탄소중립 개념의 근본적인 취약성을 지적한다. 바이오에너지의 지속가능성을 위한 실행방안으로는 숲 면적 감소분에 비례하는 추가식림 및 숲 질량 증가분에 비례하는 추가수확 공식을 제안하였다. 최적화 결과, 탄소부채 상환기간은 약 70년, 대기 중 이산화탄소는 최대 50% 이상, 정상상태에서 3% 증가가 예상된다. 이는 이론적으로 예측한 최상의 결과이며 실제로는 이보다 나쁠 것으로 추정된다. 따라서 바이오매스는 진정으로 탄소 중립적이지 않으며, 화석연료의 대체에너지원으로서 부적합하다. 본 연구에서 제안된 방법은 이미 사용 중인 바이오에너지의 현재 및 미래 탄소부채 최소화를 통해 탄소중립으로의 접근에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 예상된다.

  • In order to research the way to evaluate wind resource without actual Met Mast data, this paper has been carried out on the southeastern region of Jeju island, Korea. Although wind turbine has been an economical alternative energy resource, misjudging the prediction of lifetime or payback period occurs because of the inaccurate assessment of wind resource and the location of wind turbine. Using WindPRO(Ver. 2.7), a software for wind farm design developed by EMD from Denmark, wind resources for the southeastern region of Jeju island was analyzed, and the performance of WindPRO prediction was evaluated in detail. Met Mast data in Su-san 5.5Km far from Samdal wind farm, AWS in Sung-san 4.5km far from Samdal wind farm, and Korea Wind Map data had been collected for this work.

  • When a company makes a decision on an investment for a new product as a source for a new program, it is not easy for them to take a proper decision-making process in this highly volatile market. There could be several ways to make an investment decision on a new program. A company needs to choose the most suitable way of investment which is reflected current corporate circumstances and potential risks. We check up the process of the engineering economic decision in a automotive part manufacturing company. We define the gap between the theory and practice on engineering economic decisions. We present advices to make a decision desirably.

품질보증 이슈 조기감지 시스템의 경제성 평가 (Economic Evaluation of Early Detection System for Warranty Issues)

  • An early detection system for warranty issues periodically collects customers' claim data and automatically reports alarms about emerging issues based on statistical algorithms. It helps companies to reduce an issue definition time and save the handling cost of warranty claims. This paper provides an evaluation framework to validate the economic effect of an early detection system project. For this purpose, we present economical index of a project with explicit formulas such as ROI(return on investment), PP(payback period), NPV(net present value), PI(profitability index) and IRR(internal rate of return) and analyze the sensitivities of the index according to the variation of project input parameters. The proposed analysis framework is expected to be used for evaluating economic values of various system integration projects.

  • When a manufacturing system is designed, various kinds of evaluation methods are used for selecting the best alternative. Net present value, inner rate of return and payback period are popular quantitative measures for the economic assessment, but other qualitative measures should be considered for evaluation. The analytic hierarchy process(AHP) has been used as the popular method for the multi criteria decision making problem that considers both quantitative and qualitative criteria. This paper explains the process of economic assessment, and how to use the AHP for evaluating the designs of the assembly lines for lens module installed in mobile phone.

  • In recent years, geothermal heat pump (GHP) systems have become increasingly popular for heating and cooling in buildings. The Standing Column Well (SCW) method is one of the most efficient GHP system. Because it use groundwater for heat transfer material. In SCW systems, water is re-circulated between the well and the building (heat pump). It is only a short time since this method has been applied in domestic. So we have to refer to the developed countries' guides and manuals of SCW. In this paper, several design and construction points of SCW method are filed. We used real operation data of SCW system at Chong-Ju Univ. site for economical efficiency analysis. As a result, the payback period of Chong-Ju Univ. site is calculated at 7.23 years.

  • Korean government decided to give a subsidy for renewable energy system of green home. This policy will make an appeal to consumers. But For success of this policy, Economic benefit of consumer is essential. In this study, benefit and cost is seperated to consumer part and government part, respectively. consumer's benefit is energy saving and asset value increment. Consumer's cost is real input money except government's subsidy. Government's benefit is consist of energy import reduction, carbon discharge reduction and new production increment, As a result, the government subsidy will not so enough to activate the green home. PV system for the korean general apartment has the payback period of 19 years. So, For the dissemination of renewable energy of green home, more strong subsidy policy and more economic technoloy development is requested.

  • HAPS(High Altitude Platform Station) which is defined as a station located on an object at an altitude of 20 to 50 km and at a specified, nominal, fixed point relative to the earth is promising technology capable of providing broadband multimedia services. In this study, economical aspects of HAPS service are analyzed by estimating the revenue and costs incurred by the service. To evaluate the profitability of HAPS service, the number of subscribers is estimated and then the net present value (NPV), payback period, and the rate of return on investment (ROI) are calculated under various scenarios
