Factors Influencing the Purchase Intention of EVs Among Korean and Chinese Consumers

  • Purpose - Using the Model of Goal-Directed Behavior (MGB), this study identifies the critical factors that influence consumer intention to purchase an electric vehicle (EV). This study also provides differentiated policy implications to the Korean and Chinese governments and EV-related companies for the expansion of the EV market in both countries by comparing consumers' perceptions of EV purchase intentions. Design/methodology - Our extended MGB model adds to the standard model consideration of financial incentives, perceived risks, and environmental concerns. An online survey was conducted of Korean and Chinese consumers. Based on the collected responses, all tested hypotheses were verified using PLS-SEM (Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling). Differences in the path analysis results between Korea and China were compared and verified using Henseler's MGA (multi-group analysis), the parametric test, and the Welch-Satterthwaite test. Findings - The most critical factor that influences the intent to purchase an EV in consumers from both countries is personal desire. PBC and SN were identified as the critical factors that respectively increase personal desire in Korea and China. In addition, in Korea, among the three factors EC, FIP, and PR, environmental concerns were found to have the most significant impact on attitudes and purchase intention. In contrast, in China, economic factors (specifically financial incentives) had greater importance than environmental issues. Originality/value - This study has academic contributions in that it presents a new research model that includes financial incentive policies, environmental concerns, and perceived risk variables based on the MGB to explore consumers' purchase intentions. This study can also make a practical contribution in that it provides some meaningful implications to the governments and EV-related companies of both countries based on the differences in the analysis results of the Korean and Chinese markets.

Factors affecting the safe sexual behaviors of Korean young adults by gender: a structural equation model

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the factors that influence safe sexual behaviors of Korean young adults and identify differences by gender. Methods: This study aimed to determine which factors affected safe sexual behaviors based on the Theory of Planned Behavior. Data from 437 Korean young adults (in their 20s and 30s) were collected via online survey between January 3 and January 28, 2022. The questionnaire included items on sexual body image, sexual role perception, sexual attitudes, sexual socialization, sexual communication, and safe sexual behaviors. Structural equation modeling was performed. Results: According to the overall model fit of the hypothetical model, the final model was acceptable and explained 49% of safe sexual behaviors. Sexual attitudes (β=h-.70, p<.001) and sexual communication (β=.53, p<.001) directly affected safe sexual behaviors, and sexual role perception (β=.42, p<.001) indirectly affected safe sexual behaviors in a combined model. There were gender differences in the path from sexual attitudes (β=-.94, p<.001) and sexual communication (β=.66, p<.001) to safe sexual behaviors and from sexual body image (β=.27, p<.001) to sexual communication. Conclusion: Sexual attitudes and sexual communication were predictors of safe sexual behaviors, which differed by gender. Strategies that consider sexual attitudes, sexual communication, sexual role perception, and differences between men and women should be developed to improve the safe sexual behaviors of young adults.

조직 기업가 정신이 구성원의 조직몰입과 성과에 미치는 영향: 한국 외식 프랜차이즈 산업 (The Impact of Corporate Entrepreneurship on Employee Commitment and Performance: Evidence from the Korean Food Franchising Sector)

  • Purpose - Competitive industry structure and recent economic depression challenge a survival of Korean small- and medium-sized food franchising companies (SMFCs), albeit the explosive growth of the Korean food service industry for last few decades. Against this backdrop, it examines how these SMFCs overcome liabilities of smallness and resource scarcity to strengthen competitive advantage in the market. To tackle this, in this article we focus on corporate entrepreneurship and human resources as a knowledge-based asset for these SMFCs. Furthermore, the ratio of employee turnover is high in SMFCs. We view that such brain-drain may result in poor performance of the Korean SMFCs. As such, we pay attention to the role of organizational commitment to an organization as a solution for enhancing individual-level employees' loyalty toward their organization. Research design, data, and methodology - Our research question is to what extent corporate entrepreneurship (i.e., innovative organizational culture, organizational autonomy, and administrative innovation) affects an individual-level attitude toward the organization and, in turn, employee creativity and satisfaction in the Korean SMFCs context. We collected data from employees in SMFCs for three months. A total of 126 valid questionnaires were collected, and analyzed the data using partial least squares path modeling. Results - The reliable and valid measurement model feed into testing the structural model. Our findings suggest that innovative organizational culture and organizational autonomy positively affect employee commitment. Particularly, organizational autonomy has a greater effect than innovative culture on employee commitment. However, the relationship between administrative innovation and employee commitment is not significant. We also find that employee commitment positively affects both employee creativity and satisfaction. Conclusions - Our contribution to the existing franchising business and management literature is twofold. First, the conceptual model includes three antecedents in the organizational entrepreneurship dimension to organizational commitment. Second, we conceptualize organizational commitment as employee commitment, and validate its impact on employee creativity and job satisfaction at an individual performance level. Overall, this article suggests that it is critically important for the Korean SMFCs to develop corporate entrepreneurship in order to facilitate employees' positive attitudes toward their organizations.

실내모형시험과 수치해석을 통한 SVE의 효율성 평가 (Evaluation of Efficiency of SVE from Lab-scale Model Tests and Numerical Analysis)

  • SVE 공법은 휘발성 유기물로 오염된 불포화대의 정화 공법으로 널리 적용되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 SVE 적용시 오염물 제거 기작을 관찰하기 위해 모형조 시험을 수행하였으며, 이로부터 SVE의 주요 특징인 tailing 현상, 즉 후반부로 갈수록 제거 속도가 급격히 느려지는 꼬리 효과를 확인하였다. 본 연구에서는 액상 막에서의 확산 제약 현상을 고려할 수 있는 수치 모델을 적용하였으며, 모형조 시험 결과와 구축된 수치 모델링을 통해 SVE의 전형적인 특징이 꼬리 현상을 적절하게 모사할 수 있었다. 또한 4가지 변수에 대한 민감도 분석을 수행하여, 총토양농도의 백분율은 액상확산계수가 클수록, 가스상 확산계수가 클수록, 실제확산경로가 짧을수록, 물포화도가 작을수록 빠르게 감소함을 확인하였다.

한국 관광기업의 경쟁우위 요인이 경영성과에 미치는 영향 (The Management Performances originated from the Competitive Advantages of Korean Tourism Firms)

  • 본 논문은 한국 관광기업의 경쟁우위요인이 과연 해당기업들의 경영성과에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 가에 대한 실증연구이다. 즉, 한국의 수도권 및 경남권에서 경영활동을 수행하고 있는 관광기업들의 기본적인 현황과 문제점을 파악하고, 이어 FTA환경이라는 기회와 위협의 요인을 어떻게 적응하여 경쟁우위를 강화시키며 그들 자신의 경영성과를 제고할 것인가에 대한 연구인 것이다. 한국 관광기업의 경쟁우위는 일반적으로 중요하게 인식되고 있는 마케팅, 제품개발, 서비스 공급, 재무, 그리고 조직문화 등의 요인 등으로 분류하였으며 이들의 요인들이 경영성과에 미치는 영향력을 살펴보기로 한다. 종속변수인 경영성과는 매출, 이윤, 경영만족도로 분류하였다. 이들 간의 원인 관계를 실증적으로 분석하기 위해 구조방정식모델링 기법을 사용하였다. 분석 절차를 요약하면, 선행연구를 통해 문헌분석을 실행하고 이를 토대로 연구가설을 설립한 후 이를 검증하기 위한 실증분석을 실시하는 것이다. SPSS를 이용하여 상관분석, 신뢰성과 타당성 분석을 실행하였고, 가설검정을 위한 최종 추리통계분석인 구조 방정식 모델링을 통한 경로분석은 AMOS 통계프로그램을 활용하였다. 분석결과, 경영성과 변수들인 매출, 이윤과 경영만족도에 영향을 미치는 경쟁우위요인들은 다양하게 나타났으며 공통적으로 영향을 미치는 요인은 마케팅인 것으로 확인되었다.

A Study on the Role of Locomotion Orientation as an Antecedent of Salespeople' Selling Behavior

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of the locomotion orientation on salespeople' sales performance with the mediating effect of selling behavior(adaptive selling behavior, SOCO). And we figure out the relationship between customer-oriented selling behavior and adaptive selling behavior because those relationships are not clear. The authors infer research hypotheses based on literature review. We have confirmed the reliability and validity test and those results can be acceptable. Hypotheses test were conducted with structural equation modeling, AMOS. All paths in the research model reasoned by authors have been supported statistically at the significant level. This study with the theoretical implications is as follows. First, this study is the first attempt to investigate the path between locomotion orientation and adaptive selling behavior and SOCO. Secondly, there is an empirical conflict between our study and Franke and Park(2006)'s study. Our study was contradictory to Franke and Park(2006)'s consequences. And so, figuring out clearly those causal paths remains. This study with practical implications are as follows. First of all, the salespeople' selling performance was affected by adaptive selling behavior, customer-oriented selling behavior, and sales-oriented activities, such as the importance of selling behavior once again proven. It is necessary to enhance the capabilities that can be transformed into action appropriate to the needs of customers each sales step-by-step in the process of salespeople for various system through education and incentives, and to interact with customers and understand their customers relative to salespeople will. In order to enhance adaptive selling behavior, the company needs to do educational program and monitoring system with the positional promotion when salespeople get the high adaptive selling behavior. Secondly, the locomotion orientation of the salespeople is to cause this selling behavior. Management style to increase locomotion orientation is needed, which means, salespeople' superior about something should be conducted. In order to stimulate the selling behavior of the salespeople, most supervisors should use some managerial tools such as feedback, engagement, and rewards.

고객시민행동과 고객불량행동이 서비스품질지각과 고객만족 및 재구매의도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Customer Citizenship Behavior and Badness Behavior on Perceived Service Quality, Customer Satisfaction, and Repurchase Intention)

  • 본 연구는 서비스 고객의 두 가지 유형의 역할외행동(extra-role behavior)인 시민행동과 불량행동이 서비스 품질지각, 고객만족 및 재구매의도에 미치는 영향을 실증 조사하였다. 스포츠센터 강습프로그램 이용고객을 대상으로 한 구조방정식 분석 결과 고객시민행동과 불량행동은 실증적으로 별개의 개념임을 확인할 수 있었고 구조모델 분석결과 5개의 경로계수가 모두 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 하지만, 고객시민행동과 고객불량행동이 서비스품질지각에 미치는 차별적 영향력은 통계적으로 유의하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 서비스품질지각은 고객시민행동과 고객만족 및 재구매의도간을 완전 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 분석결과를 통해서 서비스 조직이 고객의 두 가지 유형의 역할외행동에 모두 관심을 기울여야 함을 이해할 수 있었다. 그리고 고객의 역할외행동과 기존 마케팅 문헌에서 연구되었던 고객만족 및 재구매의도와의 유의한 관계를 새롭게 이해할 수 있었다.

Object Detection Based on Deep Learning Model for Two Stage Tracking with Pest Behavior Patterns in Soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.)

  • Soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) is a representative food resource. To preserve the integrity of soybean, it is necessary to protect soybean yield and seed quality from threats of various pests and diseases. Riptortus pedestris is a well-known insect pest that causes the greatest loss of soybean yield in South Korea. This pest not only directly reduces yields but also causes disorders and diseases in plant growth. Unfortunately, no resistant soybean resources have been reported. Therefore, it is necessary to identify the distribution and movement of Riptortus pedestris at an early stage to reduce the damage caused by insect pests. Conventionally, the human eye has performed the diagnosis of agronomic traits related to pest outbreaks. However, due to human vision's subjectivity and impermanence, it is time-consuming, requires the assistance of specialists, and is labor-intensive. Therefore, the responses and behavior patterns of Riptortus pedestris to the scent of mixture R were visualized with a 3D model through the perspective of artificial intelligence. The movement patterns of Riptortus pedestris was analyzed by using time-series image data. In addition, classification was performed through visual analysis based on a deep learning model. In the object tracking, implemented using the YOLO series model, the path of the movement of pests shows a negative reaction to a mixture Rina video scene. As a result of 3D modeling using the x, y, and z-axis of the tracked objects, 80% of the subjects showed behavioral patterns consistent with the treatment of mixture R. In addition, these studies are being conducted in the soybean field and it will be possible to preserve the yield of soybeans through the application of a pest control platform to the early stage of soybeans.

Solar concentrator optimization against wind effect

  • A solar concentrator is a reflective surface in the shape of a parabola that collects solar rays in a focal area. This concentrator follows the path of the sun during the day with the help of a tracking system. One of the most important issues in the design and construction of these reflectors is the force exerted by the wind. This force can sometimes disrupt the stability of the concentrator and overturn the entire system. One of the ways to estimate the force is to use the numerical solution of the air flow in three dimensions around the dish. Ansys Fluent simulation software has been used for modeling several angles of attack between 0 and 180 with respect to the horizon. From the comparison of the velocity vector lines on the dish at angles of 90 to - 90 degrees, it was found that the flow lines are more concentrated inside the dish and there is a tendency for the flow to escape around in the radial direction, which indicates the presence of more pressure distribution inside the dish. It was observed that the pressure on the concave surface was higher than the convex one. Then, the effect of adding a hole with various diameter of 200, 300, 400, 500, and 600 mm on the dish was investigated. By increasing the diameter up to the optimized size of 400 mm, a decrease in the maximum pressure value in the pressure distribution was shown inside the dish. This pressure drop decreased the drag coefficient. The effect of the hole on the dish was also investigated for the 30-degree angled dish, and it was found that the results of the 90-degree case should be considered as the basis of the design.

아스팔트 혼합물의 골재 간극률 예측을 위한 기계학습 프레임워크 (Machine Learning Framework for Predicting Voids in the Mineral Aggregation in Asphalt Mixtures)

  • 골재 간극률은 구조적 강도, 내구성, 배수 및 투수성 등 다양한 아스팔트의 특성에 직접적인 영향을 미친다. 따라서 아스팔트 포장이 사용되는 위치, 기후, 환경 등에 적절하도록 골재 간극률이 설계되어야한다. 하지만 골재 간극률은 다양한 요인들에 의해 영향을 받으므로 그 설계가 쉽지 않다. 예를 들어 골재 입자의 크기 분포, 구성이나 아스팔트 바인더의 양, 다짐 수준 등 다양한 영향인자가 존재한다. 본 연구에서는 골재 간극률에 영향을 미치는 요인들로부터 골재 간극률을 예측하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 다양한 기계학습 모델 방법을 적용하였고 단일 기계학습 모델을 적용했을 때보다 높은 정확도로 골재 간극률을 예측할 수 있음을 보였다. 본 연구의 결과는 경험과 노동집약적인 실험에 의존하는 골재 간극률 예측에 데이터 기반의 접근방법을 적용할 수 있음을 보였으며 향후 최적 골재 간극률 설계 등에 활용 가능할 것으로 기대된다.
