한국산 박새속 4종의 미토콘드리아 DNA 분석 (Mitochondrial DNA analysis on 4 species of the genus Parus (Passeriformes: Paridae) in Korea)

  • 한국산 조류 중 박새속(genus Parus)에 속하는 4종 Parus major wladiwostokensis (박새), P. ater amurensis(진박새), P. palustrius hellmayri(쇠박새) 및 P. varius varius(곤줄 박이)를 대상으로 이들의 계통적 유연관계를 구명하기 위하여 mtDNA분석을 실시하였다. 6 base를 인지하는 10개의 제한효소를 처리하여 얻어진 mtDNA의 크기는 16.6~17.0Kb였으며 Pst I과 Pvu II는 종간 차이가 뚜렷하였다. 각 종간의 절편양상을 비교하여 Parus속의 종 간 분화정도를 비교한 결과 P. m. wladiwostokensis와 P. a. amurensis의 유전적 근연관계 가 가장 가까웠고(p=0.073, F=0.294) P. a. amurensis와 P. v. varius는 비교적 현저한 유전 적 차이를 보였다.(p=0.119, F=0.143). Brown 등 (1979)의 공식을 이용하여 박새속 4종의 분 화시기를 추정한 결과 이들은 후기 선신세(Pliocene)와 초기 홍적세(Pleistocene) 사이에 분 화된 것으로 추정되었다.

  • 한국산 박새속 조류 Porus maior(박새), Parus ater(진박새), Parus palustris(쇠박새), Parus varius(곤줄박이)의 핵형을 C-banding 방법으로 분석한 결과 ZZ-ZW 염색체를 동정, 확인할 수 있었으며, 구조적 이질염색질의 부위가 일반염색 방법에 의한 핵형 비교에서 보다 종간에 더 많은 차이를 나타냈다. 그러나 일반염색 방법과 C-banding 방법 만으로는 4종간의 종분화 기작을 추측할 수 없었다. The chromosomal analysis of Paws motor, Paws ater, Pahs palustris and Pows varius of the genus Paws in Korea were performed by C-handing method. The identification of sex chromosones was ascertained and the part of constitutive heterochromatin was more different between interspecies than by conventional Giemsa staining method. However, conventional Giemsa staining and C-banding methods could not explain mechanisms of speciation between four species.

한국산 박새속(참새목, 박새과) 조류의 계통진화 (Systematic and Evolutionary Study on the Genus Parus(Passeriformes : Paridae) in Korea)

  • 한국산 박새속(Parus) 6종 및 아종 11개 집단 159개체를 재료로 전기영동을 실시, 이들의 계통분류 및 종분화를 조사하였다. 박새(P. major) 3아종의 평균 유전적 변이정도는 일반적인 조류의 유전적 변이정도와 대체로 유사하였으나 나머지 좋은 변이정도가 낮았다. 박새 3아종의 집단 간 및 아종 간 유전적 근연치는 공히 S=0.95 이상으로 높았으며 이들은 집단간 근연치와 아종 간 근연치가 유사하였다. 종간에는 박새(P. major)와 곤줄박이(P. varius varius)의 유전적 근연치가 S=0.80으로 제일 높았고 쇠박새(P. palustrius hellmayri)와 진박새(P. ater amurensis)가 S=0.67로 제일 낮았다. 4종 평균 유전적 근연치는 S=0.72로 일반적인 조류의 근연치와 유사하였다. 이들의 분화연대를 추정한 결과 쇠박새는 약 180만년 전에 박새속 조류의 공통조상에서 분화되었다고 추정되며 그후 진박새는 약 160만년전, 곤줄박이는 약 100만년 전에 각각 분화되었고 박새 3아종은 약 10만년 전후에 분화되었을 것으로 추정된다.

Vertical Distribution of Foraging Tits in Mixed Species Flocks in Urban Forests

  • In December-January of 1996-1997 and 1997-1998, information was gathered about vertical distribution of foraging sites of tits in 34 flocks in coniferous and deciduous forests. There was a significant effect of forest type on the distribution of foraging sites of each species. Habitat was classified into 5 height layers vertically: ground, bushes (usually<1.5 m, up to 3 m), tree layer 1 (up to 1/3 of tree height), tree layer 2 (1/3-2/3 tree height). and tree layer 3 (>2/3 tree height). There were differences among species: great tit (Parus major) foraged mostly on the ground, coal tit (P. ater) and long-tailed tit (Acrocephalus caudatus) - on the highest tree layer, marsh tit (P. palustris) was often seen on bushes, and varied tit (P. varius) - in tree layer 2. Smaller species used upper and outer parts of trees. suggesting that, like in most other similar studies. larger dominant species prevented smaller species from using inner parts of trees.

생태네트워크 구축을 위한 목표종 선정에 관한 연구 - 판교신도시를 사례로 - (Selecting Target Species for Urban Ecological Network Construction - Focus on Pangyo New Town -)

  • With recent emphasis on the creation of environment-friendly new towns, introduction of ecological facilities for habitation and migration of wild animal's species is requested when developing new towns. In order to introduce such facilities, building an eco-network within the site based on the connectivity of the source area and habitats is essential in new town development. Therefore, this study mainly aimed at selecting species targeted for building an eco-network in Pangyo new town, which is intended to be an environment-friendly city. Therefore, criteria for selecting target species were generated. Then, species observed within the site through field surveys and literature review was evaluated based on the selection criteria and items. By totaling the score, a list of appropriate targeted species was finalized. Among species surveyed and observed in the site, appropriate target species that may be selected for Pangyo new town's eco-network include Falco tinnunculus interstinctus, Accipiter soloensis, Picus canus, Paradoxornis webbiana, Parus palustris, Parus ater, Parus major and Passer montanus Egretta in birds, Asiatic chipmunk, Nyctereutes procyonoides in mammals. For Pangyo new town, it is essential to create living environment and build a network for major wild animal species within the site based on target species. This will play a crucial role in building a reasonable ecological network enabling harmonious co-existence between mankind and nature. In order to build an ecological network successfully, follow-up studies need to be conducted on restoration technology and methods required for creating habitats appropriate to target species.

Tree Species Preference and Inter-specific Difference of Foraging Maneuver, Trees and Location among Four Canopy-dwelling Birds at High-elevation Temperate Deciduous Forest in Mt. Jumbongsan

  • This study was conducted to reveal tree species preference and inter-specific difference of foraging behavior among four canopy-dwelling birds at forest dominated by Quercus mongolica, Acer pseudosieboldian and Carpinus cordata at 1,000 meters above sea level during breeding season of birds from 1995 to 1997 in Mt. Jumbongsan. Breeding birds were about 25 species and dominant birds were Erithacus cyane, Parus ater and Parus palustris. A relatively high number of bush-nesters can be a characteristic of breeding bird community at study area. Three gleaners (Tits, P. varius, P. palustris and P. ater) selectively preferred the trees irrespective of dominant tree species, whereas bark foragers (Nuthatch, Sitta europaea) utilized the dominant trees. The four birds showed significant inter-specific difference in use of foraging location, but the three tits did not show significant inter-specific difference in use of foraging maneuver and trees. Closely related tits may coexist with each other by inter-specific different use of foraging location determined by foliage structure and leaf arrangement.

박새(Parus major)의 Partial Song(1 phrase)의 신호적 가치 (Signal Value of Partial Song (Composed of 1 Phrase Unit) in Great Tits, Parus major: Evidence from Playback Experiments)

  • Playback experiments were excecuted with seven threat Tit males inhabited in Gsngnae Myeon, Darak Ri, Chungbuk province to investigate the signal value of partial song (one unit phrase composed of two notes) as a species recognition releaser. Territorial males responded strongly to their own natural, synthetic and partial songs played in the field. However, thew showed weak or no responses to the playback songs of other species: Coal Tit (Porus ate4 and Yellow-throated Bunting (EmberiEa elegansl.6reat Tits distinguished conspecific partial songs readily from songs of other species. The results demonstrated that one unit phrase which is a basic arrangement of the Great Tit song, containes information on species recognition.

Maxent 모형을 활용한 인왕산-안산 서식지 분포 예측 (Prediction on Habitat Distribution in Mt. Inwang and Mt. An Using Maxent)

  • 본 연구에서는 도심 내 단절되어 있는 서식지의 연결성을 고려하여 생태통로를 구축하고자 하는 선행연구로 서울시의 인왕산과 안산의 생물 종 분포를 예측하였다. 연구대상지역인 인왕산과 안산의 생물 종 분포는 출현자료만으로도 결과를 예측할 수 있는 Maxent(Maximum Entropy Approach) 모형을 이용하여 분석하였다. Maxent 모형을 활용하여 종 분포를 예측하기 위해, 출현자료는 포유류 23개 지점과 박새류(Parus major, P. palustris, P. varius) 3종 15개 지점을 활용하였다. Maxent 모형의 환경변수로는 지형인자 4가지, 식생인자 4가지와 거리인자 2가지를 대상으로 구축하였다. 이 변수들을 활용하여 종 분포를 예측한 결과, 포유류의 경우에는 수치표고자료(DEM)가 34%, 산림지역의 경계로부터 산림내부의 거리가 24.8%, 수종이 10% 순으로 종 분포 모형에 기여도가 높았다. 반면 박새류의 경우에는 수치표고자료가 39.6%, 도로로부터의 거리가 35.4%, 나무의 밀도가 8.2% 순으로 모형에 기여도가 높았다. 따라서 조류 및 포유류는 산림 내부지역을 선호하는 것으로 나타났으며, 이 지역 보전이 필요한 것으로 판단된다.

서울시 강서구 조성녹지축의 야생조류 서식처 특성 연구 (Characteristics of Wildbirds Habitat of Artificial Green Corridor in Gangseo-gu, Seoul)

  • This study was to examine the characteristics of wirdbirds habitat for improvement plan in green corridor. The target site, Gangseo-gu artificial green corridor was set up with the structure in which small scale of core green space with Goongsan and Yeomchang neighborhood parks in urbanized city was connected with the artificial green space with Gongamnaru, Hwanggeumnae neighborhood parks with 28~42.5 m in width. Wild birds six~eleven species; Dendrocopos spp, Paradoxornis webbiana, Parus major, Phasianus colchicus, etc. were observed in core green, but wild birds of two~five species: Columba livuia, Passer montanus, Pica pica, Hypsipetes amaurotis, etc. were observed in artificial green space. Thus wild birds of artificial and generalist species only moved in artificial green space. The artificial green space where vegetation structure was consisted of single-layer with poorness chose target species laying stress on generalist species and edge species of Parus major, P. palustris, Paradoxornis webbiana etc. for short-term and interior species of Dendrocopos major, Picus canus, etc. for long-term. The result suggested enhancement methods for target species's habitat in green corridor: to secure at least a corridor 30 meters in artificial corridor, to secure ecological pond, to offer the various shelterer and environment of prey-resources through the multi-layer structure.
