  • Recently, there have been discussions among national observatories in East Asia about the possibility of EAO and the Subaru observatory forming a partnership. The official EAO-Subaru partnership can make the powerful wide-field observation capabilities of Subaru available to Korean astronomers through EAO, and also can serve as an excellent platform to gather astronomers in East Asia together for flourishing regional collaboration activities. A working group has been formed to outline the framework of the EAO-Subaru partnership, and the working group report has been prepared. In this talk, I will explain the proposed partnership framework in the working group report. Inputs are very welcome from KAS members about the proposed framework.

Methods: Participants were 208 nurses working at nine children's hospitals in D and G metropolitan cities in J province. Data were collected using structured self-report questionnaires. Results: Partnership with parents showed a significant positive correlation with emotional labor (r=.43, p<.001) and self-efficacy (r=.47, p<.001). Furthermore, emotional labor and self-efficacy had influence on partnership with parents. The total explanatory power of this model was of 31.4%. Conclusion: Considering that children's parents and other family members usually stay with them in hospitals, a concrete system needs to be developed to manage the emotional labor of nurses. Ultimately, direct and indirect intervention programs, with emotional labor and self-efficacy at the core, should be developed and implemented to enhance the partnership of nurses and parents.

  • London's BID, introduced in the early 2000s, has grown significantly to fill the gap between government services which have been decreased by the global recession and localism, and the demand for better services to strengthen competitiveness on a global level. Based on this background, this study comparatively analysed two BIDs in London with contrasting regional characteristics to find how BID works differently for the regeneration and sustainable development of regional business districts according to regional characteristics. As a result, the two BIDs ultimately had the goal of improving the local business environment and strengthening the competitiveness of local businesses and had a common point of working in close partnership with the public sector such as the local government. However, depending on the local situation and characteristics, it has been observed that there are differences in the strategies of work and the roles and relationships in the partnership with the public sector.
