ARIA/AES 기반 GCM 인증암호를 지원하는 암호 프로세서 (A Cryptographic Processor Supporting ARIA/AES-based GCM Authenticated Encryption)

  • 블록암호 알고리듬 ARIA, AES를 기반으로 GCM (Galois/Counter Mode) 인증암호를 지원하는 암호 프로세서를 경량화 구현하였다. 설계된 암호 프로세서는 블록암호를 위한 128 비트, 256 비트의 두 가지 키 길이와 5가지의 기밀성 운영모드 (ECB, CBC, OFB, CFB, CTR)도 지원한다. 알고리듬 특성을 기반으로 ARIA와 AES를 단일 하드웨어로 통합하여 구현하였으며, CTR 암호연산과 GHASH 연산의 효율적인 동시 처리를 위해 $128{\times}12$ 비트의 부분 병렬 GF (Galois field) 곱셈기를 적용하여 전체적인 성능 최적화를 이루었다. ARIA/AES-GCM 인증암호 프로세서를 FPGA로 구현하여 하드웨어 동작을 확인하였으며, 180 nm CMOS 셀 라이브러리로 합성한 결과 60,800 GE로 구현되었다. 최대 동작 주파수 95 MHz에서 키 길이에 따라 AES 블록암호는 1,105 Mbps와 810 Mbps, ARIA 블록암호는 935 Mbps와 715 Mbps, 그리고 GCM 인증암호는 138~184 Mbps의 성능을 갖는 것으로 평가되었다.

해외 패션 명품 브랜드의 유통업태별 마케팅 전략 (Marketing Strategies of Imported Fashion Luxury Brands according to the Types of Retailers)

  • The purposes of this paper were to identity the present condition of the imported fashion luxury brands' market arid to analyze the differences of marketing strategies according to the types of retailers. We selected 3 department stores, 5 luxury brands, 5 stores in Dongdeamun Market, and 5 internet luxury shopping malls, and conducted key informant survey to 20 experts. The brands in department stores consisted the goods according to VIPs' pre-orders, sales of the previous year, and fashion trends, and offered the differentiated customer services to VIPs. The stores in Dongdaemun Market bought the products from the parallel importers or imported the goods from the original nations of the brands by themselves. The goods in stock and steady sellers were comprised of the main portion of all products, and leather goods were dominated. The price of goods in stock was about $30\∼50\%$ lower than the normal price of department stores, but the new products' price was only about 10$\%$ lower than that of department stores. Luxury shopping malls could be classified into two types; one conducted both product buying and commission sale, and the other conducted commission sale only. In former case, however, the product buying portion was under 30$\%$. Product assortments and the price strategy were similar to the stores of Dongdeamun Market, and CRM was conducted partially.

긴기저선을 가진 단일층 고온초전도 SQUID 2차미분기 (Long-baseline single-layer 2nd-order $high-T_c$ SQUID gradiometer)

  • We have studied feasibility of single-layer second-order $high-T_c$ SQUID gradiometers in magnetocardiography. We have measured human cardiomagnetic signals using a short-baseline (5.8 mm) single-layer second-order YBCO gradiometer in partially shielded environments. The gradiometer has an overall size of $17.6\;mm{\times}6\;mm$ and contains three parallel-connected pickup coils which are directly coupled to a step-edge junction SQUID. The gradiometer showed an unshielded gradient noise of $0.84\;pT/cm^2/Hz^{1/2}$ at 1 Hz, which corresponds to an equivalent field noise of $280\;fT/Hz^{1/2}$. The balancing factor was $10^3$. Based on the same design rules as the short-baseline devices, we have studied fabrication of 30 mm-long baseline gradiometers. The devices had an overall size of $70.2\;mm{\times}10.6\;mm$ with each pickup coil of $10\;mm{\times}10\;mm$ in outer size. As Josephson elements we made two types of submicron bridges, which are variable thickness bridge (VTB) and constant thickness bridge (CTB), from $3\;{\mu}m-wide$ and 300 nm-thick YBCO lines with a thin layer of Au on top by using a focused ion beam (FIB) patterning method. VTB was 300 nm wide, 200 nm thick, 30 nm long with Au removed and CTB 100 nm wide and 30 nm long. In temperature-dependent critical currents, $I_c(T)$, VTB showed an nonmetallic barrier-type behavior and CTB an SNS behavior. We believe that those characteristics are ascribed to naturally formed grain boundaries crossing the bridges.

구조적 LDPC 부호의 저복잡도 및 고속 부호화기 설계 (Design of Low Complexity and High Throughput Encoder for Structured LDPC Codes)

  • 본 논문은 저 복잡도와 높은 throughput을 지원하는 LDPC 부호화기의 구조에 대하여 제안한다. LDPC 부호화기가 갖는 높은 복잡도 문제를 해결하기 위하여 기존의 복잡도가 높은 행렬 곱셈 연산기 대신에 간소화된 행렬 곱셈 연산기가 제안되었다. 또한 높은 throughput을 지원하기 위하여 행렬 곱셈 연산시 행 방향 연산 및 부분 병렬처리 연산을 적용하였다. 제안된 부호화기 구조의 로직 게이트와 메모리 사용량은 기존의 5단 파이프라인 부호화기의 구조에 비하여 각각 37.4%와 56.7%씩 감소하였다. 또한 40MHz 클럭 주파수에 대해 기존의 부호화기에 비하여 3배 이상의 throughput인 최대 800Mbps의 throughput을 지원한다.

Comparison of changes in retentive force of three stud attachments for implant overdentures

  • PURPOSE. The aim of this study was to compare the changes in retentive force of stud attachments for implant overdentures by in vitro 2-year-wear simulation. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Three commercially available attachment systems were investigated: Kerator blue, O-ring red, and EZ lock. Two implant fixtures were embedded in parallel in each custom base mounting. Five pairs of each attachment system were tested. A universal testing machine was used to measure the retentive force during 2500 insertion and removal cycles. Surface changes on the components were evaluated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). A Kruskal-Wallis test, followed by Pairwise comparison, was used to compare the retentive force between the groups, and to determine groups that were significantly different (${\alpha}$<.05). RESULTS. A comparison of the initial retentive force revealed the highest value for Kerator, followed by the O-ring and EZ lock attachments. However, no significant difference was detected between Kerator and O-ring (P>.05). After 2500 insertion and removal cycles, the highest retention loss was recorded for O-ring, and no significant difference between Kerator and EZ lock (P>.05). Also, Kerator showed the highest retentive force, followed by EZ lock and O-ring, after 2500 cycles (P<.05). Based on SEM analysis, the polymeric components in O-ring and Kerator were observed to exhibit surface wear and deformation. CONCLUSION. After 2500 insertion and removal cycles, all attachments exhibited significant loss in retention. Mechanism of retention loss can only be partially explained by surface changes.

INMS 복호 알고리듬을 적용한 WiMAX용 LDPC 복호기의 성능분석 및 하드웨어 설계 (Performance analysis and hardware design of LDPC Decoder for WiMAX using INMS algorithm)

  • 본 논문에서는 Improved Normalized Min-Sum(INMS) 복호 알고리듬을 적용한 LDPC 복호기의 복호성능 및 복호 수렴속도를 고정소수점 Matlab 모델링과 시뮬레이션을 통해 분석한 후, Verilog-HDL로 하드웨어를 설계하였다. 설계된 LDPC 복호기는 IEEE 802.16e 모바일 WiMAX 표준의 19가지 블록길이(576~2304)에 따른 6가지 부호율(1/2, 2/3A, 2/3B, 3/4A, 3/4B, 5/6)을 지원한다. 하드웨어 복잡도를 고려하여 layered 복호방식의 블록-시리얼(부분병렬) 구조로 설계하였으며, SM(sign-magnitude) 수체계 연산을 기반으로 하는 DFU(Decoding Function Unit)를 적용하여 면적을 최소화하였다. 기존의 DFU에 적용된 min-sum 복호 알고리듬 보다 복호성능이 좋은 INMS 복호 알고리듬을 적용함으로써 LLR 비트 수를 1-비트 감소시켜 하드웨어를 최적화시켰다.

Methylmercury Toxicity Is Induced by Elevation of Intracellular $Ca^{2+}$ through Activation of Phosphatidylcholine-Specific Phospholipase C

  • Methylmercury (MeHg) is a ubiquitous environmental toxicant that can be exposed to humans by ingestion of contaminated food including fish and bread. MeHg has been suggested to exert its toxicity through its high reactivity to thiols, generation of arachidonic acid and reactive oxygen species (ROS), and elevation of intracellular $Ca^{2+}$ levels ([$Ca^{2+}$$_{i}$). However, the precise mechanism has not been fully defined. Here we show that phosphatidylcholine-specific phospholipase C (PC-PLC) is a critical pathway for MeHg-induced toxicity. MeHg activated the acidic form of sphingomyelinase (A-SMase) and group IV cytosolic phospholipase $A_2$ ($cPLA_2$) downstream of PC-PLC, but these enzymes as well as protein kinase C were not linked to MeHg's toxicity. Furthermore, MeHg produced ROS, which did not cause the toxicity. However, D6O9, an inhibitor of PC-PLC, significantly reversed the toxicity in a time- and dose-dependent manner in MDCK and SH-5YSY cells. Addition of EGTA to culture media resulted in partial decrease of [$Ca^{2+}$$_{i}$ and partially blocked cell death. In contrast, D609 completely prevented cell death with parallel decreases in diacylglycerol and [$Ca^{2+}$$_{i}$. Together, our findings indicated that MeHg-induced toxicity was caused by elevation of [$Ca^{2+}$]$_{i}$ through activation of PC-PLC. The toxicity was not attributable to the signaling pathways such as $cPLA_2$, A-SMase, and PKC, or to the generation of ROS.

쥐에서 대퇴 동맥 문합술시 투여한 혈관내피성장인자의 효과에 대한 형태학적 연구 (A Morphologic Study on the Effect of the Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor in the Anastomosis of the Rat Femoral Artery)

  • Purpose : This study evaluated the effect of VEGF in the arterial anastomosis by using light and electron microscopy. Marerials and method : Rats underwent femoral arterial end-to-end anastomosis after transection and topical VEGF treatment. The proximal and distal segments of the femoral arteries was drenched with 1 drop of VEGF $(100ng/100{\mu}l/bottle)$. and when half of the repair was finished, the other 1 drop was drenched and then the repair was continued to complete the anastomosis. Gross and histologic characteristics of arterial wall were assessed after 3 days, 1, 3 and 5 weeks. In the control group, normal saline solution instead of VEGF was dropped with the same method in the anastomosis. Results : The histologic findings of the arterial wall were the vascular remodeling with the infiltration of inflammatory cells at early stages and the tissue fibrosis at lately stages in the anastomotic sites of the control and the VEGF-treated groups. The scanning electron microscopic results were; (1) the anastomotic sites were covered by many irregular cells with long cytoplasmic processes at the early stages. (2) After 1 week, endothelial cells started to cover the anastomotic sites. (3) After 3 weeks, the anastomotic sites were partially covered by endothelial cells in the control group. (4) After 5 weeks, the anastomotic sites were completely covered by endothelial cells in the control and VEGF-treated groups. (5) In the VEGF-treated group, the anastomotic site was completely covered by endothelial cells which directed parallel to longitudinal axis of arteries after 3 weeks. Conclusion : Topical VEGF maintained luminal integrity by decreasing fibrosis and increasing re-endothelialization. These findings suggest that topical VEGF may be a promising new strategy to enhance healing and improve the outcome of vascular anastomosis.

Camphene/WO3-NiO 슬러리의 동결건조 및 수소분위기 열처리에 의한 W-Ni 다공체 제조 (Porous W-Ni Alloys Synthesized from Camphene/WO3-NiO Slurry by Freeze Drying and Heat Treatment in Hydrogen Atmosphere)

  • The present study demonstrates the effect of raw powder on the pore structure of porous W-Ni prepared by freeze drying of camphene-based slurries and sintering process. The reduction behavior of $WO_3$ and $WO_3-NiO$ powders is analyzed by a temperature programmed reduction method in Ar-10% H2 atmosphere. After heat treatment in hydrogen atmosphere, $WO_3-NiO$ powder mixture is completely converted to metallic W without any reaction phases. Camphene slurries with oxide powders are frozen at $-30^{\circ}C$, and pores in the frozen specimens are generated by sublimation of the camphene during drying in air. The green bodies are hydrogen-reduced at $800^{\circ}C$ and sintered at $1000^{\circ}C$ for 1 h. The sintered samples show large and aligned parallel pores to the camphene growth direction, and small pores in the internal wall of large pores. The strut between large pores, prepared from pure $WO_3$ powder, consists of very fine particles with partially necking between the particles. In contrast, the strut densification is clearly observed in the Ni-added W sample due to the enhanced mass transport in activation sintering.

금개구리 피부 색소세포의 미세구조 (The Ultrastructure of the Cutaneous Pigment Cells in Rana nigromaculata coreana Okada)

  • 금개구리 (Rana nigromaculata coreana Okada) 배부피부의 색소보유세포를 전자현미경으로 관찰하였다. 3종류의 진피 색소보유세포는 서로 평행으로 위치하였으며, 그들 세포들사이의 intercellular space에 의하여 인접되었다. 각 색소보유세포의 특징은 다음과 같다. 1. 대황세포 : 대황세포들은 서로 밀접하게 접하여 있었다. 그들 세포는 pterinosomes과 carotenoid vesicles로 채워져 있었으며, 그중 pterinosomes은 5가지 형태로 구분되었고 (제1형, 제2형, 제3형, 제4형 및 제5형 pterinosomes), 특히 전형적인 제2형과 제3형 pterinosomes이 발달되었다. 2. Iridophore:들은 위에 위치한 대황세포와 인접하였고, 그들은 iridophore reflective platelets로 채워져 있었으며, 이 reflective platelets는 대개 평행하게 배열되었으나, 일부분은 이 평행면과 다른 방향으로 위치하였다. 3. 멜라닌보유세포:멜라닌보유세포는 멜라닌과립으로 채워져 있었으며, 이 과립들은 같은 전자밀도를 나타내었다. 멜라닌보유세포의 돌기는 iridophore 양 측면으로 뻗어 있었고, 이 돌기속의 멜라닌과립은 드문드문 분산되어 관찰되었다.
