  • This paper introduces the development of imaging luminance meter which measures the luminances of external/internal road tunnel. The developed imaging luminance meter complies with both L20 method and Veiling luminance method of the international standards, CIE88. In this paper the L20 method is mainly presented because most of tunnels currently adapt L20 method. The developed system has an embedded computer to operate at stand-alone. The system has a ethernet port, a heater, a fan, a defroster, a wiper and sun shielder. Compensation algorithm is applied for correcting non-linear responses to the luminance and integration time. The accuracy of measurement is less than 1% when it calibrated at the public certification institute. The developed system was also tested at the real field, road tunnel. The test results were very similar with the reference luminance meter and showed that the developed system operates well at the real field. Partial sensor saturations were happened to show the less luminance, because there were the high reflecting objects in the real field. Further study should be followed for high luminance measurement.

  • Background: Lung cancer is the most common cause of cancer-related death worldwide and in Korea, and small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is the most deadly tumor type in the different lung cancer histology. Chemotherapy is the main strategy of the treatment for SCLC, and etoposide and platinum regimen has been the only standard chemotherapy for about 30 years. To test feasibility of weekly divided dose irinotecan and carboplatin for Korean patients is the aim of this study. Methods: Patients with histologically or cytologically confirmed extensive stage SCLC were included. Patients with limited stage (LD), who could not tolerate concurrent chemoradiotherapy were also included. All the patients received irinotecan $60mg/m^2$, carboplatin 2 area under the curve at day 1, 8, and 15 every 4 weeks. Study regimen was discontinued when the disease progressed or intolerable side effects occurred. No more than 6 cycles of chemotherapy were given. Results: Total 47 patients were enrolled, among them 9 patients were LD. Overall response rate was 74.5% (complete response, 14.9%; partial response, 59.6%). Side effects greater than grade 3 were neutropenia (25.5%), fatigue (12.8%), thrombocytopenia (8.5%), sepsis (4.3%), and pancytopenia (2.1%). There was no treatment related death. Conclusion: Weekly divided irinotecan and carboplatin regimen is effective, and safe as a first line therapy for both stage of SCLC. Large scaled, controlled study is feasible.

  • The symptoms such as weaken shape, partial and full death in nurse- and old- trees have been mostly caused by the occurrence of cavity. In general, the adaption of poly-urethane has been practised routinely in the way of treatment in cavity. However, the use of poly-urethane was not an effective, but it was related to pollution materials. Here, the experiment was conducted to identify the effects of the treatments of loess or micro-organisms for the alternatives of poly-urethane. The cavities which occurred in Zelkova serrata, Prunus yedoensis and Quercus myrsinaefolia were treated by poly-urethane, loess, mixtured loess and micro-organism (Rhadobacter), and mixtured loess and micro-organism (Rhodobacter + bacillus). As the results of this experiment, it was shown that the treatment of mixtured loess and micro-organism (Rhodobacter + bacillus) induced to develop greater callus formation in the cavity up to 97% in Zelkova serrata, up to 87% in Prunus yedoensis, and by 73% in Quercus myrsinaefolia than the treatment of poly-urethane. But the only loess and mixtured loess and micro-organism (Rhadobacter) was a similar or lower callus formation ratio than poly-urethane.

  • In March of 2004, gray snow mold (Typhula blight) caused by Typhula spp. occurred on perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.) and Kentucky bluegrass (Poo pratensis L.) at MuJu golf courses in Jeonbuk Province. Leaves in the affected areas were matted together and frequently covered with white to grayish mycelia. Sclerotia were formed on the leaf blade, leaf sheath, or crown regions. The fungus isolated from the diseased leaf formed whitish mycelium, clamp connections, and light pink to brown, irregular-shaped small sclerotia of less than 1.4 mm in diameter, which are characteristic to Typhula incarnata. Optimum temperature ranges for mycelial growth were $5^{\circ}C$ to $15^{\circ}C$. The causal organism was confirmed to be T. incarnata as the partial sequence of its ribosomal RNA ITS1 (internal transcribed spacer) region was 91% homologous to those of T. incarnata in GenBank database. Out of the 14 fungicides tested fur antifungal activity in vitro, 10 fungicides including iprodione, tebuconazole, polyoxin D, flutolanil, hexaconazole, tolclofos-methyl, fosetyl-Al, mepronil, pencycuron+tebuconazole, and fenarimol completely inhibited fungal growth at their recommended concentrations. In the field test, these fungicides and others such as thifluzamide and thiram effectively controlled the gray snow mold of turfgrass with some variable degrees of control efficacies.

  • Pelagic larval dispersal habits influence the population genetic structure of marine mollusk organisms via gene flow. The genetic information of the clam Gomphina aequilatera (short larval stage, 10 days) which is ecologically and economically important in the China coast is unknown. To determine the influence of planktonic larval duration on the genetic structure of G. aequilatera. Mitochondrial markers, cytochrome oxidase subunit i (COI) and 12S ribosomal RNA (12S rRNA), were used to investigate the population structure of wild G. aequilatera specimens from four China Sea coastal locations (Zhoushan, Nanji Island, Zhangpu and Beihai). Partial COI (685 bp) and 12S rRNA (350 bp) sequences were determined. High level and significant $F_{ST}$ values were obtained among the different localities, based on either COI ($F_{ST}=0.100-0.444$, P<0.05) or 12S rRNA ($F_{ST}=0.193-0.742$, P<0.05), indicating a high degree of genetic differentiation among the populations. The pairwise $N_m$ between Beihai and Zhoushan for COI was 0.626 and the other four pairwise $N_m$ values were >1, indicating extensive gene flow among them. The 12S rRNA showed the same pattern. AMOVA test results for COI and 12S rRNA indicated major genetic variation within the populations: 77.96% within and 22.04% among the populations for COI, 55.73% within and 44.27% among the populations for 12S rRNA. A median-joining network suggested obvious genetic differentiation between the Zhoushan and Beihai populations. This study revealed the extant population genetic structure of G. aequilatera and showed a strong population structure in a species with a short planktonic larval stage.

  • The objective of this study is to develop the existing drainage system for catching the partial leakage of tunnel structures operating in cold region. The drainage system consists of drainage board, Hotty-gel as a waterproofing material, cover for preventing protrusion of Hotty-gel, air nailer, fixed nail, pipe for collecting ground leak, pipe for conveying ground leak, wire-mesh, and sprayed cement mortar. The drainage systems were installed in conventional concrete lining tunnels to evaluate the site applicability and constructability. The performances of waterproof and the drainage in the drainage system were evaluated by injecting 1,000 ml of red water in the back of the drainage system at 7 days, 14 days, 21 days, 28 days, 2 months, 3 months, 4 months, 5 months, 6 months, 7 months and 8 months. During 8 months of field test, the average daily temperature of the tunnel site was measured from $-16.0^{\circ}C$ to $25.6^{\circ}C$. The daily minimum temperature was $-21.3^{\circ}C$ and the daily maximum temperature was $30.8^{\circ}C$. There was no problem in waterproof and drainage performance of the drainage board in the drainage system. However, the pipe for conveying ground leak had the leakage problem from 14 days. It is considered that the leakage of the pipe for conveying ground leak was caused by the deformation of the pipe of the flexible plastic material having a thickness of 0.2 cm by using the high pressure air nailer and the fixing pin and the insufficient thickness and width of the hotty-gel for preventing the leakage.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the mediating effects of career preparation behavior on nursing professionalism related factors of nursing students. The subjects were 265 students in the first, second, third, and fourth grades of nursing schools in the Gyeongbuk area. Data were collected from May 7, 2018 to May 25, 2018 using structured questionnaires. Data were analyzed by t-tests, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression analysis based on descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation) using the SPSS 22.0 program. The results of this study showed that career identity and career attitude maturity have a partial mediation effect on career preparation behavior in relation to nursing professionalism. Career attitude maturity (${\beta}=.38$), career identity (${\beta}=.17$), and career preparation behavior (${\beta}=.14$) were significant factors affecting nursing professionalism and the explanatory power of these variables was 19%. Therefore, it is necessary to develop and apply educational methods to improve career preparation behaviors and enhance professionalism of nursing students. In addition, there is a need for follow-up research on the structural relationship between career preparation behaviors, which are concrete and practical actions related to nurse's careers, and how they affect other career-related variables.

  • The study conducted an experiment in which residual aggregate and polypropylene fibers are mixed in concrete, and an experiment in which granite and polypropylene fibers are mixed. Two types of experiments, in particular, changed the amount of polypropylene fibers, and examined the mechanical properties of slump, compressive strength, tensile strength and the like. To establish a light and easy-to-use material for landscape construction and packaging material development by comparing two kinds of experimental results, comparing and analyzing residual aggregate as experimental materials and materials using granite soil to prevent partial destruction due to cracks in drying shrinkage. The more the amount of the PP fibers increases in concrete, the more the volume of the PP fibers increases, the less the slump is determined. As a result of the compressive strength, the cast-down earth concrete is measured to be about 59% to 71% of the concrete strength. As the amount of PP fibers mixed in increased, the compression strength showed a relative decrease. As a result of tensile strength, it is found that the granite concrete is about 68-67% of concrete tensile strength. It was found that the compression strength decreased as the amount of PP fibers mixed in concrete or fire-gant concrete was increased. Then, when polypropylene fibers are mixed in the concrete and the concrete, it is found that tensile strength is increased. By analyzing these results, a fixed amount of PP fiber is mixed in the concrete mixed with the granite soil and utilized for various structures in the field of landscape construction or materials related to packaging, the prevention and improvement effect of the structure is determined.

  • A self-report evaluation is used to prevent driving accidents by elderly drivers. The majority of normal older adults may have mild cognitive impairment with reduced cognitive function. These depressed cognitive functions may be variables that affect the performance of elderly drivers. This study confirmed the cognitive functions that affect the self-reported evaluation for elderly drivers with mild cognitive impairment. Based on the results of the Korean Version of the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, 103 elderly drivers were classified into mild cognitive impairment and normal groups of elderly drivers. The Korean-Drivers 65 plus scores used in the self-reported evaluation of the two groups were compared, and the cognitive functions affecting the evaluation were analyzed. Results found the mild cognitive impairment group showed a significantly lower evaluation performance compared to the normal group, and the self-reported evaluation results of the elderly driver with mild cognitive impairment showed a significant correlation between visuoconstructional skills and delayed recall. As a result of regression analysis, the visuoconstructional skill was identified as the cognitive function with the strongest influence on the self-reported evaluation performance. Delayed recall was also found to have a partial effect but not at the level of altering the self-reported evaluation results of the elderly driver with mild cognitive impairment.
