In this paper, approximate solutions of the von Karman equations for the free flexural vibration of a transversely isotropic thin rectangular plate with two simply supported edges and two clamped edges are obtained. Applying one term Ritz-Galerkin procedure, the spatial dependent part of the equation is separated and time dependent function is found to be the Duffing's equation. Then the relation between nonlinear period and amplitude of the vibration is obtained by using averaging method which is a method of the perturbation procedure. It can be seen that averaging method is easy and agrees well with prior results.

As part of a drug discovery program to develope more effective platinum-based anticancer drugs, a series of platinum complexes trans -diaminocyclohexane platinum bi sdiphenylphosphino -ethane (KHPC-002) cis-diaminocyclohexane platinum bisdiphenylphosphino-ethane (KHPC-006) has been evaluated in vitro against 4 human carcinoma cell lines with those of cisplatin using a tetrazolium-based colorimetric assay (MTT assay). The cell lines were two human bladder carcinoma cell lines, HT-1197 and HT-1376, human colon carcinoma cell line, HCT-116, and prostate cancer cell line DU-145.

This report is written for presenting a principal theme of study about. the origin of Sangdong ore deposit in details, being an aid to find new ore bodies, on the basis of mineralogical charactor and geological feature. Main vein in Sandgong mine has characteristic zonal distribution and localization of minerals. 3 kinds of minerals, that are quartz, hornblende, diopside, form systematically their each rich zones. Other minerals like plagioclase, native bismuth, sphene, molybdenite and wolframite are developed locally. According to the zonal distribution and localization of the minerals, the authors presume that mineralizing agents which changed interbedded limestones into ore bodies act and come up from non-exposed igneous body in the direction perpendicular to the platy main vein. That non-exposed igneous body, presumed, might be extended from the exposed igneous bodies in the southern part of Sangdong mine.

This study was conducted in order to determine how reductions in blood pressure during surgery affect intraoperative neuromonitoring. This retrospective study considered a total of 339 patients: 194 patients with normal neuromonitoring findings (57%), 145 (42%) with abnormal neuromonitoring findings, and 34 (10%) with postoperative neurological deficits. Comparisons between the three groups revealed that overall blood pressure during surgery, postoperative blood pressure, and the difference between the maximum and minimum blood pressure could affect the intraoperative neuromonitoring findings. While we indicate that a drop in blood pressure to below 70 mmHg could affect neuromonitoring results, differences in the dosage of anesthetic agents did not significantly affect reductions in blood pressure or neuromonitoring findings. The association of monitoring with blood pressure found in this study is expected to help future examiners. However, this study did not clarify the relationship between anesthesia and blood pressure and how it could affect intraoperative neuromonitoring. Therefore, further research on this part is thought to be necessary.

Over the last several decades, the debates on school sexuality education program have centered on the specific education topics and its in-depth to be taught for different level of students. Many people, on the whole, worried that sexuality education for the adolescents promote irresponsible sexuality activities and that students become more liberal following sex education(in all ways, not just sexually). At the present time, however, most social leaders agree that school sexuality education program should be developed and implemented as an important part of the formal school curriculum. Because they believe that sexuality education programs will be effective to change irresponsible sexual behavior and prevent sexual risk among teenagers. Researches demonstrate that not all school-based sexuality and AIDS education programs are effective, but that some programs are effective. On the basis of previous studies, the present paper reviewed the beliefs and questions which generate discussion and opposition to sexuality education program at the school. The effectiveness of the educational instruction was also evaluated focused on the reducing specific sexual risk behavior and reinforcement of individual values against sexuality activities. Lastly, this paper proposed several ways and means for effective sexuality education program in general.

In this study, we have developed the high resolution multichannel seismic data acquisition system and shallow marine seismic source. It is easy to operate our source system which utilizes piezoelectric transducer of high electrical power. According to water depth, survey condition and purpose, transducer number of source system can be easily changed in order to maximize field applicability. In the recording part, we used 24 bits and 8 channel high speed A/D board in order to achieve the improvement of data quality and the efficiency of data acquisition. The developed system was tested and varied with the data acquisition parameters such as source-receiver offset, and transducer number versus water depth for the field application.

We consider a Direct Input Output Manufacturing System(DIOMS) which has a munber of machine centers placed along a built-in Automated Storage/Retrieval System(AS/RS). The Storage/Retrieval (S/R) machine handles parts placed on pallets for the machine centers located at either one or both sides of the As/Rs. This report studies the operational aspect of DIOMS and determines the optimal operating policy by combining computer simulation and genetic algorithm. The operational problem includes: input sequencing control, dispatching rule of the S/R machine, machine center-based part type selection rule, and storage assignment policy. For each operating policy, several different policies are considered based on the known research results. In this report, using the computer simulation and genetic algorithm we suggest a method which gives the optimal configuration of operating policies within reasonable computation time.

In an attempt to elucidate the anti-inflammatory action of ginseng total saponin, protopanaxadiol and protopanaxatriol, the anti-inflammatory activity of three compounds was investigated under various acute and chronic inflammatory models. The blood vessel permeability was slightly inhibited by total saponin and protopanaxatriol treatments. Granuloma formation induced by 2% carrageenan was inhibited by total saponin and protopanaxatriol. The cotton-pellet granuloma formation was significantly inhibited by intraperitoneal injection of total saponin. Total saponin and protopanaxadiol inhibited leukocyte emigration and protein exudation in CMC-induced pouch but protopanaxauiol increased leukocyte emigration. The swelling of rat hind paw induced by 1% carrageenan was significantly inhibited by total saponin, protopanaxadiol and protopanaxatriol both single and 2 weeks treatments. Total saponin, protopanaxadiol and protopanaxatriol decreased the anti-inflammatory activity in adrenalectomized rat. Our results suggest that total saponin, protopanaxadiol and protopanaxatriol have potent anti-inflammatory activity, this may be mediated in part through stimulation of adrenal glands.

16 APEX floats, autonomous profiling floats deployed as part of the Array for Real-time Geostrophic Oceanography (ARGO) program, are used to understand the currents at 800 m underwater in the southwestern East Sea. The flow penetrates into the Ulleung basin (UB) through two paths： an extension of the southward flowing the North Korean Cold Water along the east coast of Korea and between Ulleung Island and Dok island. Flows at 800 m are observed range 0.2 to 4.29 cm/sec and the variability in the north in the DB is stronger than that in the south. The eddy kinetic energy is found a few $cm^{2}$ $S^{-2}$. In the UB, cyclonic flows from 0.3 - 1.6 cm/see are observed with the bottom topography.
