Objective: This clinical study was performed with a female patient to evaluate the effects of combined Eastern-Western medicine treatment on benign paroxysmal positional vertigo after acute vestibular neuritis.Method: We used acupuncture, herbal medication, Western medication, fluid therapy, and the canalith repositioning maneuver to treat a female patient suffering from dizzy spells. The vertigo scale was checked to assess any improvement in symptoms.Results: The patient had originally recovered from acute vestibular neuritis, but after the first discharge, she came down with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo and had to be rehospitalized. She eventually got better, however, and her score on the vertigo scale improved.Conclusion: This study demonstrates that combined Eastern-Western medicine treatment may be an effective option for treating benign paroxysmal positional vertigo after acute vestibular neuritis, despite the difficulty of the treatment in this case.

Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute(KASI) joined the Gemini Observatory as a 'Limited-Term Partner' in 2014, and is providing the Gemini facility for Korean community through K-GMT Science Program starting from 2015. The access to Gemini facility is expected to open a new window of opportunities in the field of optical and infrared observational researches and to help efficient development of science cases for GMT. We will present the short and long-term expectations and possible outcomes of the KASI-Gemini partnership.

K-GMT Science Group (KGSG) is in charge of overall science operations with an aim to promote scientific activities of Korean Astronomical Community for the GMT era in 2020. KGSG is currently running and/or promoting K-GMT Science Program, K-GMT Science White Paper Initiative, and K-GMT Summer School for Young Researchers. KGSG is also planning to join several international survey projects such as SDSS IV and LSST. We will introduce the current status on various operations and the future plan for KGSG to the community members.

Analysis on structural effects which are reduction of friction coefficient and increase of tendon area by HDPE greased and large size strand in post-tensioning system of reactor containment building was carried out. Effective ratio of tendon force increases 67% to 83% by HDPE greased strand and vertical, horizontal internal section forces increased maximum 51%, 41% respectively. Tendon quantity could be reduced 30% by large size and HDPE greased strand that can maintain safety of ultimate internal pressure same as at present.

Acanthopanax senticosus has been used clinically as tonic. anti-rheumatic and prophylactic purpose for chronic bronchitis. hypertension. ischemic heart disease. and gastric ulcer. We investigated the effects of methanol extracts from Acanthopanax senticosus (KS. KR. MS, MR, HS. HR, SS and SR) on catecholamine and cortisol content of serum after immobilization and on the exercise time to exhaustion in chronic swimming stressed rats. (omitted)

Background and Objective : Localized Pustular Psoriasis(LPP) is a rare form of psoriasis characterized by erythematous papules, plaques studded with pustules(usually on palms or soles) However, the pathophysiology of the LPP remains obscure. Treatment at present is symptomatic and supportive. There is no report on LPP treated with oriental medical treatment. Methods : We conducted one patient with LPP seen at Won-Kwang University Ik-San Oriental Medical Hospital in 2003. We treated LPP in a forty-nine years old man by a herbal medicine, acupuncture, moxa, etc Conclusions : We had a significant results. So we report this case to estimate the efficiency of oriental medic at treatment and management on LPP

In general, standard TCP/IP (transmission control protocol-internet protocol), which is called TCP/IP, is using as the communication basis protocol between any collections of networks that is connected. In this paper, using this TCP/IP implementation of remote system and suitable program for long distance communication is proposed. This system can make system, which basic Ethernet and TCP/IP used system, to mini modeling, so all module that is using here can be used. Therefore, intention of this paper is to reduce expenses, to effective manage for plant and to increase of productivity as linking each plant of several factories to TCP/IP and Ethernet, and then many control plant and manager minimize the needed course.

A Bus Trunk System for Wind Tower is introduced. A marine cable has been widely used in wind tower or other offshore structure. However, as the electric load capacity is getting increased, the large number of cable lines should be used to cover such a huge amount of electric capacities, which makes the installation make quite difficult due to the heavy weight and volume of the present cables. On the other hand, by using a single bus trunk system line, the power capacity amount of 16 number of cable can be delivered with significant compactness. However, unlike flexible cable, the bus trunk is relatively stiff which could arise resonance phenomenon in the operating condition of wind tower, therefore, the vibration characteristics of bus trunk should be investigated and verify its long-term reliability during the life time of the wind tower.

A series of thiobarbituric acid derivatives were constructed and evaluated for inhibitory activity on hepatitis C virus NS5B polymerase. In biochemical assays using purified viral polymerase and RNA template, the $IC_{50}$ value was improved to 0.41 ${\mu}M$ from the original compound's 1.7 ${\mu}M$ value. In HCV sub genomic replicon assay, the $EC_{50}$ value was improved to 3.7 ${\mu}M$ from the original compound's 12.3 ${\mu}M$ value. $CC_{50}$ was higher than 77 ${\mu}M$ for all compounds tested, suggesting that they are useful candidates for anti-HCV therapy.
