A steam turnine in thermal/nuclear power plant drives generator and maintains it at rated speed using high temperature and high pressure steam energy. After synchronization in parallel with the power system, generator output increases according as the governor, that is the controller, increases steam flow into turbine. By the way, as the steam flow into turbine can not be reduced fast even though the electrical load is lost, the turbine gets into dangerous situation due to the increase of its speed. At this time, the duty of the turbine governor is to limit the speed to its overspeed trip setpoint by stopping the steam flow as soon as possible, the test of which is called load rejection test. It is introduced in this paper for a simulation test of generator load rejection to be implemented on the turbine governor in a 600MW nuclear power plant before its startup.

Fin-tube evaporator for carbon dioxide has been investigated both by experiment and simulation. Inside refrigerant heat transfer and outside heat and mass transfer of a wet surface heat exchanger were modeled using appropriate correlations. The results estimated by the calculation were in good agreement with the experimental results. The simulation errors were less than 7.9% for estimating capacity, 0.6$^{\circ}C$ for air exit temperature, 1.2% for air exit humidity and 17% for $CO_2$ exit pressure. The simulation program was used to study the effect of air flow direction, number of rows and refrigerant circuits. For a 2-row evaporator, parallel flow showed better performance for low air velocity but for high air velocity, counter-flow was better. Refrigerant circuits, however, showed insignificant effect on the performance.

An analysis has been given for the effect of viscous dissipation on the thermal instability of plane Couette flow between two parallel plates maintained at different constant temperatures. Under the assumption that the principle of the exchange of stabilities holds, stationary disturbance quantities in the form of longitudinal vortices are considered. The magnitudes of disturbance quantities are then represented as fast convergent power series so that the eigenvalue problem for determining the onset conditions of the thermal instability may be reduced to a simplified problem of finding the roots of a $4{\times}4$ determinant. It is shown that as the magnitude of the visucous dissipation increases the flow becomes more susceptible to instabilities, which is in very good agreement with previous results obtained in some related researches.
Two- and three-dimensional turbulent airflows in a 9-degrees-bent channel are studied numerically. The inner surfaces of upper and lower walls are parallel to each other upstream and downstream of the bend section. The free stream is supersonic, whereas the flow at the channel exit is either supersonic or subsonic depending on the given backpressure. Solutions of the Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations are obtained with a finite-volume solver ANSYS CFX. The solutions reveal instability of formed shock waves and a flow hysteresis in considerable bands of the free-stream Mach number at zero and negative angles of attack. The instability is caused by an interaction of shocks with the expansion flow formed over the convex bend of lower wall.
An ionization front (IF) surrounding an H II region is a sharp interface through which a cold neutral gas makes transition to a warm ionized phase by absorbing UV photons from central massive stars. We investigate the structure and instability of a plane-parallel D-type IF threaded by magnetic fields parallel to the front. We find that magnetic fields increase the maximum propagation speed of the IFs, while reducing the expansion factor, defined as the density ratio of neutral to ionized phases. IFs become unstable to distortional perturbations due to gas expansion across the fronts, exactly analogous to the Darrieus-Landau instability of ablation fronts in terrestrial flames. The growth rate of the IF instability is proportional linearly to the perturbation wavenumber as well as the upstream flow speed. The IF instability is stabilized by gas compressibility and becomes completely quenched when the front is D-critical. The instability is also stabilized by magnetic pressure when the perturbations propagate in the direction perpendicular to the fields. When the perturbations propagate in the direction parallel to the fields, on the other hand, it is magnetic tension that reduces the growth rate, completely suppressing the instability when ${\beta}$ < 1.5, with ${\beta}$ denoting the square of the ratio of the sound speed to the Alfven speed in the pre-IF region. When the front experiences an acceleration, the IF instability cooperates with the Rayleigh-Taylor instability to make the front more unstable. We discuss potential effects of IF instability on the evolution and dynamics of IFs in the interstellar medium.

This paper is a research for removing the alternators hunting which came about during the par-allel running. The four-pole six-phase alternator is equipped with the converter made out of twelve diodes to rectify all the waves. The hunting came about during the battery charging due to the hunting inducing point existed in r. p. m band 1575[rpm-1690[rpm] To remove the hunting inducing point We modified the four-pole six-phase alternator into the four-pole twevel-phase and increased the short-circuit ratio by decreasing the field coil pitch and increasing the field coil turns. But this method has two defects the first the alternator structure becomes complicating and the second the second the alternator equipped with the converter used in general purpose lately such as the car alternator can not be run in parallel wlthout modifying. To remove the defects the equalizing line was connected between the same phase of the alterna-tor to flow the synchronizing current which syncronize the phases of generator electromotive forces by which the alternator can be run in parallel without reference to the hunting inducing point and without modifying.
Real-time multimedia streaming over the Internet is rapidly increasing with the popularity of user-created contents, Web 2.0 trends, and P2P (peer-to-peer) delivery support. While many homes today are broadband-enabled, the quality of experience (QoE) of a user is still limited due to frequent interruption of media playout. The vulnerability of TCP (transmission control protocol), the popular transport-layer protocol for streaming in practice, to the packet losses, retransmissions, and timeouts makes it hard to deliver a timely and persistent flow of packets for online multimedia contents. This paper presents TCP-real-time online multimedia environment (ROME), a novel transport-layer framework that allows the establishment and coordination of multiple many-to-one TCP connections. Between one client with multiple home addresses and multiple co-located or distributed servers, TCP-ROME increases the total throughput by aggregating the resources of multiple TCP connections. It also overcomes the bandwidth fluctuations of network bottlenecks by dynamically coordinating the streams of contents from multiple servers and by adapting the streaming rate of all connections to match the bandwidth requirement of the target video.
This paper concerns the study of absorption refrigeration and heat pump cycle to use sewage. Simulation analysis on the double-effect absorption refrigeration cycle with parallel and two-stage heat pump cycle has been performed. The working fluid is Lithium Bromide and water solution. The absorption refrigeration cycle use sewage as a cooling water for the absorber and condenser, and absorption refrigeration cycle does that as a chilled water for the evaporator of the first stage cycle. And the two-stage cycle consists of coupling double-effect with parallel and single effect cycle so that the first stage absorber and condenser produces heating water to evaporate refrigerant in the evaporator of the second stage. The effects of operating variables such as a absorber temperature on the coefficient of performance have been studied for absorption refrigeration and heat pump cycle.
In this study a novel cogeneration system driven by low-temperature sources at a temperature level below $190^{\circ}C$ is investigated by first and second laws of thermodynamics. The system consists of Organic Rankine Cycle(ORC) and an additional heat generation as a parallel circuit. Seven working fluids of R143a, R22, R134a, R152a, $iC_4H_{10}$(isobutane), $C_4H_{10}$(butane), and R123a are considered in this work. Maximum mass flow rate of a working fluid relative to that of the source fluid and optimum turbine inlet pressure are considered to extract maximum power from the source. Results show that due to a combined heat and power generation, both the efficiencies by first and second laws can be significantly increased in comparison to a power generation, however, the second law efficiency is more resonable in the investigation of cogeneration systems. Results also show that the working fluid for the maximum system efficiency depends on the source temperature.

A computational study on the enhancement of parallel supersonic-subsonic mixing wakes is conducted and compared with available experimental data. The first aim of the present work is to show a direct comparison between numerical predictions and equivalent experimental data for the baseline case. The Pitot pressure distribution data are in good agreement between computation and experiment, and the results show that Menter's SST model with the compressibility correction gives the best performance. Further we investigate the effects of primary parameters such as the position of the cavity, and the arrangement of the cavity at the given flow condition.
