A prototype semiconductor switch for the command resonant charging system has been developed for a line type modulator, which charges parallel pulse forming network(PFN) up to voltage of 5 kV at repetition rates of 60 Hz. A phase controlled power supply provides charging of the 4.7 ${\mu}s$ filter capacitor bank to voltage up to 5 kV. A solid state module of series stack array of sixe matched SCRs(1.6 kV, 50 A) is used as a command charging switch to initiate the resonant charging cycle. Both resistive and RC snubber network are used across each stage of the switch assembly in order to ensure proper voltage division during both steady state and transient condition. A master trigger signal is generated to trigger circuits which are transmitted through pulse transformer to each of the 6 series switch stages. A pulse transformer is required for high voltage trigger or power isolation. This paper will discuss trigger method, protection scheme, circuit simulation, and test result.

The flux-coupling type superconducting fault current limiter(SFCL) is composed of a series transformer and superconducting unit of the YBCO thin films. The primary and secondary coils in the transformer were wound in series each other through an iron core and the YBCO thin film was connected with secondary coil in parallel. In a normal condition, the flux generated from a primary coil is cancelled out by its structure and the zero resistance of the YBCO thin films. When a fault occurs, the resistance of the YBCO thin films was generated and the fault current was limited by the SFCL. In this paper, we investigated the fault current limiting characteristics according to fault current level in the flux-coupling type SFCL. The experiment results that the fault current limiting characteristics was improved according to increase of the fault current level.

This paper proposes an improved feed-forward controller that calculates the gain value by estimating the changed boost inductance in practical operating condition of transformer. The boost inductance is estimated by the measurement of input current and voltage. The estimated boost inductance is optimized by the least square method. The proposed feed-forward controller can be achieved the robust control through the gain value calculating the estimated boost inductance despite of the changed condition of transformer and can minimize the interference phenomenon by reducing the harmonics of input current. The validity of proposed technique is verified through the simulation and experiment.

LCD needs a backlight that is a light source as a photodetector that has a light modulation function and CCFL is used usually. Inverter that composes using existent winding transformer operates multi lamps, however, this efficiency falls by losses of core or winding and volume or weight increases or there is danger of fire by overheating. In order to solve these problems, a multi lamp driving Inverter using PT is composed according to the design guideline in this paper. We conformed whether the multi lamp drive method using EEFL that a current burden is less in applicable to piezoelectric inverter, and used the method that connect two piezoelectric transformers by parallel to an inverter.
In this paper, a novel zero-voltage and zero-current switching (ZVZCS) interleaved two switch forward converter is proposed. By using a coupled-inductor-type smoothing filter, a snubber capacitor, the parallel capacitance of the leading switches and the transformer parasitic inductance, the proposed converter can realize soft-switching for the main power switches. This converter can effectively reduce the primary circulating current loss by using the coupled inductor and the snubber capacitor. Furthermore, this converter can reduce the reverse recovery loss, parasitic ringing and transient voltage stress in the secondary rectifier diodes caused by the leakage inductors of the transformer and the coupled inductance. The operation principle and steady state characteristics of the converter are analyzed according to the equivalent circuits in different operation modes. The practical effectiveness of the proposed converter was is illustrated by simulation and experimental results via a 500W, 100 kHz prototype using the power MOSFET.
Recently, in the field of computer animation, a method for generating motion using deep learning has been studied away from conventional finite-state machines or graph-based methods. The expressiveness of the network required for learning motions is more influenced by the diversity of motion contained in it than by the simple length of motion to be learned. This study aims to find an efficient network structure when the types of motions to be learned are diverse. In this paper, we train and compare three types of networks: basic fully-connected structure, mixture of experts structure that uses multiple fully-connected layers in parallel, recurrent neural network which is widely used to deal with seq2seq, and transformer structure used for sequence-type data processing in the natural language processing field.
In the power plant using high temperature fuel cells such as Molten Carbonate Fuel Cell(MCFC), and Solid Oxide Fuel Cell(SOFC), the generated electric power per area of power generation facilities is much higher than any other renewable energy sources. - High temperature fuel cell systems are capable of operating at MW rated power output. - It also has a feature that is short for length of the line for connecting the interior of the generation facilities. In normal condition, these points are advantages for voltage drops or power losses. However, in abnormal condition such as fault occurrence in electrical system, the fault currents are increased, because of the small impedance of the short length of power cable. Commonly, to minimize the thermal-mechanical stresses on the stack and increase the systems reliability, we divided the power plant configuration to several banks for parallel operation. However, when a fault occurs in the parallel operation system of power main transformer, the fault currents might exceed the interruption capacity of protective devices. In fact, although the internal voltage level of the fuel cell power plant is the voltage level of distribution systems, we should install the circuit breakers for transmission systems due to fault current. To resolve these problems, the SFCL has been studied as one of the noticeable devices. Therefore, we analyzed the effect of application of the SFCL on bus tie in a fuel cell power plants system using PSCAD/EMTDC.

Optimal Power Flow (OPF) is becoming more and more important in the deregulation environment of power pool and there is an urgent need of faster solution technique for on-line application. So this paper presents parallel genetic algorithm-tap search for the solution of the OPF. The control variables modeled unit active power outputs, generator-bus voltage magnitudes and transformer-tap settings. A number of functional operating constraints, such as branch flow limits, load bus boltage magnitude limits and generator reactive capabilities are included as penalties in the fitness function. In parallel GA-TS, GA operators are executed for each process. If best fitness of the GA is not changed for several generations, TS operators are executed for the upper three populations to enhance the local searching capabilities. With migration operation, best string of each node is transferred to the neighboring node after predetermined iterations are executed. For parallel computing, we developed a PC-cluster system consisting of 8 PCs. Each PC employs the 2 GHz Pentium IV CPU and is connected with others through ethernet switch based fast ethernet. To show the usefulness of the proposed method, developed algorithm has been tested and compared on an IEEE 30-bus system in the reference paper. From the simulation results, we can find that the proposed algorithm is efficient for the OPF.
In this paper, we present the Korean menu-ordering Sentence Text-to-Speech (TTS) system using conformer-based FastSpeech2. Conformer is the convolution-augmented transformer, which was originally proposed in Speech Recognition. Combining two different structures, the Conformer extracts better local and global features. It comprises two half Feed Forward module at the front and the end, sandwiching the Multi-Head Self-Attention module and Convolution module. We introduce the Conformer in Korean TTS, as we know it works well in Korean Speech Recognition. For comparison between transformer-based TTS model and Conformer-based one, we train FastSpeech2 and Conformer-based FastSpeech2. We collected a phoneme-balanced data set and used this for training our models. This corpus comprises not only general conversation, but also menu-ordering conversation consisting mainly of loanwords. This data set is the solution to the current Korean TTS model's degradation in loanwords. As a result of generating a synthesized sound using ParallelWave Gan, the Conformer-based FastSpeech2 achieved superior performance of MOS 4.04. We confirm that the model performance improved when the same structure was changed from transformer to Conformer in the Korean TTS.
This paper presents a new circuit topology of DC busline switch and snubbing capacitor-assisted full-bridge soft-switching PWM inverter type DC-DC power converter with a high frequency link for low voltage large current applications as DC feeding systems, telecommunication power plants, automotive DC bus converters, plasma generator, electro plating plants, fuel cell interfaced power conditioner and arc welding power supplies. The proposed power converter circuit is based upon a voltage source-fed H type full-bridge high frequency PWM inverter with a high frequency transformer link. The conventional type high frequency inverter circuit is modified by adding a single power semiconductor switching device in series with DC rail and snubbing lossless capacitor in parallel with the inverter bridge legs. All the active power switches in the full-bridge inverter arms and DC busline can achieve ZVS/ZVT turn-off and ZCS turn-on commutation operation. Therefore, the total switching losses at turn-off and turn-on switching transitions of these power semiconductor devices can be reduced even in the high switching frequency bands ranging from 20 kHz to 100 kHz. The switching frequency of this DC-DC power converter using IGBT power modules is selected to be 60 kHz. It is proved experimentally by the power loss analysis that the more the switching frequency increases, the more the proposed DC-DC converter can achieve high performance, lighter in weight, lower power losses and miniaturization in size as compared to the conventional hard switching one. The principle of operation, operation modes, practical and inherent effectiveness of this novel DC-DC power converter topology is proved for a low voltage and large current DC-DC power supplies of arc welder applications in industry.
