  • In this paper a new series-parallel compensated uninterruptible power supply is proposed. Its series compensator shapes input current to sinusoid. The power handled by series compensator is only a quarter of ratings. And parallel compensator delivers sinusoidal voltage to nonlinear load. The parallel compensator is backedup with battery. This system has capabilities of power line conditioner and backup power with reduced size.

A Compensator for Lateral Current Reduction Applied to Autonomously Controlled UPSs Connected in Parallel

  • This paper presents a compensator for reduction of the reactive lateral current in multiple autonomously controlled uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) connected in parallel. This compensator acts directly on the control equation for voltage amplitude and it provides an improved current distribution especially in the case of parallel connection of UPSs with different output power ratings. Observations show that the original control equation for output voltage amplitude is efficient for voltage regulation but it causes great variation of voltage levels. A compensator with the same structure is added to counterbalance the variation caused by the original control equation. Simulations show promising results with the employment of the proposed compensator. Our simulations are confirmed by experimental results using three UPSs with different output ratings and voltage limiters ($1\%$) connected in parallel under various conditions.

선형 시스템 수동화를 위한 병렬 앞먹임 보상기 설계방법 연구 (Design Method of a Parallel Feedforward Compensator for Passivation of Linear Systems)

  • A passivity-based dynamic output feedback controller design is considered for a finite collection of non-square linear systems. Design of a single controller for a set of plants i.e. simultaneous stabilization is an important issue in the area of robust control design. We first determine a squaring gain matrix and an additional dynamics that is connected to the systems in a feedforward way, then a static passivating control law is designed. Consequently, the actual feedback controller will be the static control law combined with the feedforward dynamics. A necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of the parallel feedforward compensator is given by the static output feedback formulation. In contrast to the previous result [1], a technical condition for constructing the parallel feedforward compensator is removed by proposing a new type of the parallel compensator.

  • This paper proposes a sliding mode controller with fuzzy adaptive perturbation compensator(FAPC) to get a good control performance and reduce the chatter, The proposed algorithm can reduce the chattering because the proposed fuzzy adaptive perturbation compensator compensates the perturbation terms. The compensator computes the control input for compensating unmodeled dynamic terms and disturbance by using the observer-based fuzzy adaptive network(FAN) The weighting parameters of the compensate. are updated by on-line adaptive scheme in order to minimize the estimation error and the estimation velocity error of each actuator. Therefore, the combination of sliding mode control and fuzzy adaptive network gives the robust and intelligent routine to get a good control performance. To evaluate the control performance of the proposed approach, tracking control is experimentally carried out for the hydraulic motion platform which consists of a 6-DOF parallel manipulator.

  • This paper presents a three-phase Line-Interactive uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system with series-parallel active power-line conditioning capabilities, using synchronous reference frame (SRF) based controller, which allows an effective power factor correction, source harmonic voltage compensation, load harmonic current suppression, and output voltage regulation. The three-phase UPS system consists of two active power compensator topologies. One is a series active compensator, which works as a voltage source in phase with the source voltage to have the sinusoidal source current and high power factor under the deviation and distortion of the source voltage. The other is a parallel active compensator which works as a conventional sinusoidal voltage source in phase with the source voltage, providing to the load a regulated and sinusoidal voltage with low THD (total harmonic distortion). The control algorithm using SRF method and the active power flow through the Line-interactive UPS systems are described and studied. The simulation and experimental results are depicted in this paper to show the effect of the proposed algorithm.

무효전력 보상 용량 증대 및 DC 링크 전압 저감을 위한 SVC 결합형 UPQC (SVC coupled UPQC for reactive power compensation capacity increase and DC link voltage reduction)

  • 본 논문에서는 UPQC 시스템과 SVC를 결합한 새로운 형태의 보상장치를 제안하고자 한다. 기존의 UPQC는 직렬형 인버터, 병렬형 인버터, DC 링크로 구성되어 있어있으며 우수한 전력품질 보상 성능을 보이지만 높은 인버터 정격을 요구한다. 제안된 방식은 직렬형 인버터, 병렬형 인버터와 DC 링크 그리고 병렬형 인버터의 출력단에 결합된 SVC로 구성되어 있으며, 기존 UPQC에 비해 넓은 무효전력 보상 범위와 낮은 DC 링크 전압의 장점을 가지고 있다. 또한, SVC가 결합된 새로운 UPQC의 구성은 Matlab 시뮬레이션을 통해 성능을 검증하였다.

  • We present a state-space approach to make non-square linear systems strictly passive by using an input-dimensional parallel feedforward compensator. A necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of the parallel feedforward compensator is given by the static output feedback formulation, which enables to utilize linear matrix inequality. By modifying the structure of the compensator the additional technical assumption in the previous result [1] is removed. The effectiveness of the proposed method is illustrated by some numerical examples which can be stabilized by the proportional-derivative (PD) and proportional-derivative-integral (PID) control laws. The proposed control scheme can successfully replace the measurements of derivative terms in the control laws.

  • An electro-hydraulic manipulator using hydraulic actuators has many nonlinear abetments, and its parameter fluctuations are greater than those of an electrically driven manipulator. So it is relatively difficult to realize not only stable but also accurate trajectory control for the autonomous assembly tasks using hydraulic manipulators. In this report, we propose a two-degree-of-freedom control including parallel feedforward compensator (PFC) where PFC plays a very important role in the stability of a proposed control system. In the experimental results of the 6-link electro hydraulic manipulator, it is verified that the stability and the model matching performance are improved by using the proposed control method.

2중 컨버터 구조를 갖는 계통 연계형 UPS의 DC 충전 알고리듬에 관한 연구 (A Study on DC Changing Algorithm of the Line-Interactive UPS with Dual Converter Structure)

  • 본 논문에서는 2개의 컨버터 구조를 갖는 삼상 계통 연계형 UPS에 대하여 연구한다. 삼상UPS시스템은 2개의 능동 전력 보상기 구조로 이루어져 있다. 하나는 직렬형으로 .전원전압과 동상의 전압원으로 동작하여 전원전압의 변동, 왜곡시에도 정현파 전원전류와 고역률을 갖도록 동작한다. 병렬형은 전원전압과 위상을 맞춘 종전의 정현파 전압원으로 동작하여 부하에 안정되고 낮은 THD를 갖는 정현파 전압을 공급한다. 본 논문에서는 직렬형, 병렬형 능동보상기에서 전원전압의 크기에 따라 충전 방법에 대하여 제시한다. 종전의 계통 연계형 UPS는 DC 충전과 출력전압을 동시에 제어하였는데, 2개의 컨버터 구조를 갖는 UPS 시스템에서는 직렬형 보상기도 DC 충전을 할 수 있어 직렬형과 병렬형을 사용한 충전 알고리듬을 연구할 필요가 있다. 따라서 DC link단의 전압을 안정시켜 본래의 직렬형, 병렬형 구조의 보상기의 안정성 향상에 기여할 수가 있다. 제안된 방법의 타당성은 시뮬레이션과 실험 결과를 통하여 입증된다.

Performance Analysis of a Three-Phase Parallel Active Power Filter which Compensates PCC Voltage and the Unbalanced Loads

  • The performance analysis of a three-phase parallel active power filter that compensates PCC voltage and the unbalanced loads is presented in this paper. The proposed scheme in this paper employs a PWM voltage-source inverter and has two operation modes. Firstly, it operates as a conventional active filter with reactive power compensation when PCC voltage is within the 15% voltage drop range. Secondly, it operates as a voltage compensator when PCC voltage is not within the 15% voltage drop range. And both APF and voltage compensator compensate asymmetries caused by nonlinear loads. Finally, two methods of detecting the negative sequence are reviewed, and the validity of this scheme is investigated through analysis of simulation and experimental results for a prototype active power filter system rate at 10KVA.
