A product labelling is one of key tools in ensuring that a patient uses drugs safely and effectively in self-care without professional support. This study aimed to explore the readability and comprehensibility of the information contained on two package inserts of medicines. Two package inserts were tested with first year college students. Fifty-one potential consumers underlined words they could not understand and answered 10 scenario questions. Any differences among groups with different characteristics were statistically tested. Secondly, the readability of two package inserts was assessed with comparison to the level of the 6th grade Korean textbooks. As results, more than 80% of participants properly replied to straightforward questions concerning indication, dosage, duplication, use in pregnancy and contraindication, and 73% about formulation. Less than half answered correctly in multiple choice questions about pediatric use (41%) and side effects (35%). Little discrepancy was observed in the comprehensibility between participants' characteristics. Drug inserts contained about 20% more professional-level words than 6th grade textbooks. In conclusion, Korean consumers may face challenges to understand drug information due to professional terminology and outdated expressions in the current package inserts. To secure safe and effective use of over-the-counter agents, greater efforts should be made to develop more consumer friendly labels. In the other hand, educational supports are required to prepare consumers in a proper level of knowledge for the safe use of drugs.

Optical transmitter and receiver are the essential components for optical communication. For these components, butterfly type packages are used which are comprised of metal housing, multilayer ceramic inserts, lead and window. In this study, 2.5 Gbps DFB(Distributed -Feedback) LD(Laser Diode) package was fabricated and characterized. Metal housing showed good thermal conductivity (200W/mK) and well matched TCE(6.7ppm/K) with GaAs chip. Ceramic inserts also showed good VSWR(Voltage Standing Wave Ratio) characteristics(<2.0). By brazing technology, all the elements were combined and sealed. RF characteristics of the package mounted on the PWB was also tested.

The use of hexagonal ceramic inserts for copper extrusion dies offers significant technical and economic advantages over other forms of manufacture. In this paper the data on the loading of the tools is determined from a commercial FEM package as the contact stress distribution on the die-workpiece interface and as temperature distributions in the die. This data can be processed as load input data for a finite element die-stress analysis. Process simulation and stress analysis are thus combined during the design and a data exchange program has been developed that enables optimal design of the dies taking into account the elastic deflections generated in shrink fitting the die inserts and that caused by the stresses generated in the process. The stress analysis of the dies is used to determine the stress conditions on the ceramic insert by considering contact and interference effects under both mechanical and thermal loads.

The use of ceramic inserts in steel forging tools offers significant technical and economic advantages over other materi-als of manufacture. These potential benefits can however only be realised by optimal design of the tools so that the ceramic insert are not subjected to stresses that led to their premature failure. In this paper the data on loading of the tools is determined from a commercial forging simulation package as the contact stress distribution on the die-workpiece interface and as temperature distributions in the die. This data can be processed as load input data for a finite-element die-stress analysis. Process simulation and stress analysis are thus combined during the design and a data exchange program has been developed that enables optimal design of the dies taking into account the elastic detections generated in shrink fitting the die inserts and that caused by the stresses generated in the forging process. The stress analysis of the dies is used to determine the stress conditions on the ceramic insert by considering contact and interference effects under both mechanical and thermal loads. Simulation results have been validated as a result of experimental investigation. Laboratory tests on ceramic insert dies have verified the superior performance of the Zirconia and Silicon Nitride ceramic insert in order to prolong maintenance life.

Copper bus-bar is made by drawing process and used in many part of industry. When design drawing die for copper bus-bar, design factor is focused on the deformation of die-land by drawing force and shrink fit. In this paper, to determine shrink fit value is analyzed by automatic shrink fit analysis program, APDL/UIDL language in a commercial FEM package, ANSYS, has been developed that enables optimal design of the dies taking into account the elastic deflections generated in shrink fitting the die inserts and that caused by the stresses generated in the process and by using DEFORM software for drawing process analysis. Purpose: This study aims to investigate consumers' demand of and perspective on drug information domestically available and uncover hurdles that they faced while utilizing information. Methods: We conducted a survey of 101 consumers, face-to-face after obtaining informed consent. Chi-squared, or Fisher's exact tests, and multivariate logistic models were used to investigate the association between participants' perceptions and characteristics. Results: As results, participants showed the highest demand for "Adverse effects >90%"; "Drug interactions/Dosage/Drug-food interactions/Indication >80%", and utilized package inserts (52%), doctors (41%) and pharmacists (36%) most often as information sources. Generally, the most common difficulty consumers suffered with was that "it is hard to understand (51%)". With public sources of drug information, sixty one percent of participants were "unaware of the provision of information", resulting in strikingly low usage rates (5~11%). Subgroup analyses indicated that the older (${\geq}50$ years) and the disadvantaged might have been placed in the blind spot of information mostly developed online (p<0.05).Conclusion: In conclusion, public sources of drug information that have been developed online might fail to meet consumers' demand. Greater efforts should be made to balance the development of the information sources between online and offline, and to increase accessibility of the established information sources.
The severe conditions such as rated voltage of 800kV, gas pressure of $5kg/cm^2$ and rated lighting impulse withstand voltage of 2400kV were adopted for the design of spacers in the 800kV GIS to give a sufficient design margin. The design criteria on the maximum electric field strength of the center conductor and the insulator surface were established by considering the insulator surface characteristics, electrode area and surface effects in the unequal electric field strength of the given gap. The design parameters such as inter/outer envelope degree, thickness, inter/outer inserts, triple junction gap were determined by calculating the electric field using FLUX-2D program package and by referring to the published papers. The mechanical stress analysis was conducted on the feasible model spacers that showed good electric field distributions to confirm the sufficient mechanical design margin. The 800kV spacer designed as described above is now in the process of manufacturing.
