RSM 방법에 의한 리튬이온 배터리 팩의 최적 설계 (Study on Optimization of Li-ion Battery Pack Design by RSM)

  • This paper is to derive information about the optimal shape of the pack has a minimum temperature range of a Li-ion battery equipped with a module. We selected the shape of the pack in order to reduce the temperature deviation between the batteries as a variable. And we derived the experimental points with a minimum of DOE by D-optimal. We analyzed the temperature and the flow within the battery pack by using a numerical analysis verified in previous studies. We derive the equation for the temperature variation in the objective function using the RSM and performed optimization. As a result, it was confirmed that with the variation in the $1.706e-4^{\circ}C$ when to apply an optimized shape.

팩 세멘테이션에 의한 알루미나이드 코팅의 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션 (Computer simulation of aluminide coating by pack cementation)

  • A theoretical model which combines gaseous transport and solid state diffusion was used to study aluminide coating process by pack cementation. The aluminide coatings were applied in the high activity pack containing $NH_4Cl$ activator with Ni substrate under argon atmosphere. On the basis of the process conditions, the suggested model allows the surface composition, the growth rate of coating layers and the aluminium concentration profiles in coatings to be calculated. In the case of $NH_4Cl$ activator, careful consideration was required in the analysis, because activator contains nitrogen and hydrogen as well as halogen element to activate the pack. A good agreement is obtained between the theoretical predictions and the experimental results.

국내 선박용 도료의 VOCs 함량분포 및 오존생성기여도에 관한 연구 (The Analysis on the VOCs Contents and Ozone Production Contribution of A Marine Paint in Korea)

  • In this research, a few paints in the shipyard were selected and analyzed for the component and ozone production in marine paint using TVOC and GC/FID, ozone generation index (MIR, POCP) to establish measures of $VOC_s$ effectively. The concentrations of TVOC ranged between approximately 300~400 g/L and 400~500 g/L, respectively and these showed 37% of whole. Our results indicated that the main constituents of marine paints were m,p,oxylene (49%), ethyl benzene (10%), toluene (8%) and 2-propanol (5%). It was also found that xylene concentration have relatively higher impact on ozone generation. The types of paints were also investigated for their potentials. The biggest contributor was the 1 Pack Finish paint. The rest is, in their contributing order, 1 Pack Finish paint, 2 pack Finish paint, Anti-fouling paint, 2 Pack A/C paint, Ballast paint and 1 Pack A/C paint.

Analysis of Ring Pack Lubrication

  • This paper describes a method developed for the simulation of ring pack lubrication characteristic in an internal combustion engine. In general, the quantity of oil supply for piston ring lubrication may be insufficient in filling the entire volume formed at the interference between the piston ring and the cylinder liner. Thus the oil starvation condition should be considered in analyzing piston ring lubrication. In order to reasonably estimate the amount of oil left over on the cylinder liner, the flow rate at the posterior portion of the interface should be calculated with an adequate boundary condition that confirms flow continuity condition. In this analysis, oil starvation and open-end boundary conditions are considered at the inlet and outlet of the piston rings. The lubrication characteristic of each piston ring is obtained by an iterative method with sequential steps. It is revealed that piston rings are operated under oil starvation in most operating cycles and the result under these conditions are quite different from that with the fully-flooded assumption.

  • An energy storage system is composed of lithium-ion batteries in modern applications. Batteries are regarded as storage devices for renewable and residual energy. The failure of batteries can cause the performance reduction and explosion of battery systems. High maintenance cost is essential when dealing with the problem of battery safety. Therefore an accurate health diagnosis is required to ensure the high reliability of battery systems. A battery pack is a combination of single cells in series and parallel connections. A battery pack has to consider various factors to assess battery health. Battery health involves conventional factors and additional factors, such as cell-to-cell imbalance. For large applications, state-of-health (SOH) can be inaccurate because of the lack of factors that indicate the state of the battery pack. In this study, six characterization factors are proposed for improving the SOH estimation of battery packs. The six proposed characterization factors can be regarded as health indicators (HIs). The six HIs are applied to the principal component analysis (PCA) algorithm. To reflect information regarding capacity, voltage, and temperature, the PCA algorithm extracts new degradation factors by using the six HIs. The new degradation factors are applied to a multiple regression model. Results show the advancement and improvement of SOH estimation.

  • 탄소/탄소 복합재는 고온에서의 우수한 물성에도 불구하고, 산화에 대한 취약한 성질로 인하여 많은 분야에서 사용에 제약을 받고 있다. 그러므로 탄소/탄소 복합재의 산화안정성을 향상시키기 위해서 수많은 연구가 수행되어지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 고온에서 보다 개선된 물성과 높은 산화안정성을 부여하고, 타 도포물질과 비교해서 낮은 열팽창계수의 차이를 보이는 탄화규소를 Pack-Cementation 방법으로 4방향성 탄소/탄소 복합재에 도포하였다. 제작된 탄화규소로 도포된 탄소/탄소 복합재는 광학현미경의 관찰을 통하여 도포기구를 추정하였으며, 산화시험을 통하여 개선된 산화안정성을 조사하였다. 그리고 여러 시험을 종합 ·분석하여 도포공정의 최적의 반응조건을 연구하였다.

  • Like composite material. the coil winding pack of the KSTAR (Korea Superconducting Tokamak Advanced Research) consist of multiphase element such as metallic jacket material for protecting superconducting cable, vacuum pressurized imprepregnated (VPI) insulation, and corner roving filler. For jacket material, four CS (Central Solenoid) Coils, $5^{th}$ PF (Poloidal Field) Coil, and TF (Toroidal Field Coil) use Incoloy 908 and $6-7^{th}$ PF coil, Cold worked 316LN. In order to analyze the global behavior of large coil support structure with coil winding pack, it is required to replace the winding pack to monolithic matter with the equivalent mechanical properties, i.e. Young's moduli, shear moduli due to constraint of total nodes number and element numbers. In this study, Equivalent Young's moduli, shear moduli, Poisson's ratio, and thermal expansion coefficient were calculated for all coil winding pack using Finite Element Method.

Surface Roughness Effects on the Lubrication Characteristics of the Engine Piston Ring Pack

  • The surface roughness between a piston ring pack and a cylinder liner directly affects the fuel economy, the oil consumption, and the emission of the engine so that it is very important to clarify the surface roughness effects on the lubrication characteristics. The friction characteristics of the piston ring during engine operations are known to as mixed lubrication experimentally. In this study to simulate the effects of the surface roughness of the piston ring pack on the lubrication characteristics, the mixed lubrication analysis of piston rings was performed using the simplified average Reynolds equation. From the results the surface roughness was found be considerably affects minimum oil film thickness as well as FMEP(Friction Mean Effective Pressure). Especially, the oil ring was the most sensitive on the surface roughness.

당뇨병이 없는 남성 근로자의 건강행태 특성이 당화혈색소에 미치는 영향 (The Impact of Health Behaviors of Male Workers without Diabetes on HbA1c)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of health behaviors of male workers without diabetes such as smoking, drinking and physical activities on HbA1c using 2015 and 2016 data from Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES). Methods: The final study subjects of KNHANES were a total of 1,703 male workers in their 30s-50s who had normal levels of fasting blood sugar level, HbA1c, and hemoglobin. For the study variables, age, household income, educational level and occupation were included as socio-demographic characteristics; smoking behavior, drinking behavior, and physical activity behavior as characteristics of health behavior; and waist circumference, body mass index, systolic and diastolic blood pressures, total cholesterol, triglyceride and HDL cholesterol as medical examination characteristics were included. The analysis was conducted using independent variables t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. Results: Socio-demographic factors that affect HbA1c were age, educational level, and occupation. As for HbA1c according to the status of current smoking, it was higher in order of the present, past and nonsmoking and HbA1c according to smoking amount pack-year increased linearly in between less than 1 pack-year and over 30 pack-year (p<0.001). Muscular exercises affected the reduction of HbA1c (p<0.05). In the multiple regression analysis with independent variables of the socio-demographic characteristics and health behavior, factors affecting HbA1c were age, occupation and smoking amount pack-year (p<0.05). In the multiple regression analysis where the characteristics of physical examination were added, factors affecting HbA1c were age, occupation, smoking amount pack-year, waist circumference and total cholesterol (p<0.001). Conclusions: As a result, the health behavior that had the most effect on HbA1c management for male workers without diabetes was the total lifetime smoking amount. Therefore, it is essential to prevent smoking as well as control, cholesterol to prevent diabetes for male workers.

  • Compaction Grouting Pack (CGP) Anchor which is composite anchor of bearing plus friction-type was chosen and executed for the open-cuts in soft ground. This paper presents an analysis of data from tests on composite-anchor by jacking force. The properties of composite-anchor was presented to be as follows , the maximum plastic displacement was 60 mm in abandoned coal fill deposit, the shear stress($\tau$) is expressed as $\tau$ = (equation omitted) kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ in clayey silt.
