In recent years, the research and development for the photovoltaic(PV) energy system are making rapidly progress around the world and specially this country, too due the deregulation law for the renewable energy system seems to be born sooner or later. In PV generation system, the partially shaded PV array is the one of the worst case which reduces the efficiency of the total PV generation system. The partial shaded condition is the result of shadowing by cloud and dust building of on the surface of the panel. Some structural elements, such as antennas, booms etc. is also the reason of the shadowing. Even if only a small part of PV is shaded, the overall generation power of PV is significantly decreased. Therefore, several researchers who are focusing on the PV generation system take a time for the research related with the shadowing problem of PV array. In this paper, authors have developed the method which users can achieved the modeling of partially shaded PV array with. With several papers authors have already announced the availability of the EMTDC/PSCAD PV panel model component. This research result is the developed version of the previous papers.

Increasing cost of electricity due to rising price of fuel is one of the local community's main issues. In this research, switching of grid dependent system to the grid-tied Photovoltaic (PV) system with net metering for a residential building is proposed. The system is designed by considering the maximum energy demand of the building. The designed system is analyzed using RETScreen on technical, economic and environmental grounds. It is found that the system is able to produce 12,000 kWh/year. The system is capable to fulfill the electricity demand of the building during day time and is also capable to sell the energy to the local grid causing the electric meter to run in reverse direction. During night time, electricity will be purchased from grid, and electric meter will run in the forward direction. The system is economically justified with a payback period of only 3 years with net present value of PKR. 4,758,132. Also, the system is able to reduce 7.2 tons of CO2 not produced in the entire life of the project.
Recently, finishing materials at spandrel area, a part of curtain-wall system, are gradually forced to improve thermal insulation performance in order to enhance the building energy efficiency. Also, Building Integrated Photovoltaics(BIPV) systems have been installed in the exterior side of the spandrel area, which is generally composed of windows. Those BIPVs aim to achieve high building energy efficiency and supply the electricity to building. However, if transparent BIPV module is combined with high insulated spandrel, it would reduce the PV efficiency for two major reasons. First, temperature in the air space, located between window layer and finishing layer of the spandrel area, can significantly increase by solar heat gain, because the space has a few air density relative to other spaces in building. Secondly, PV has a characteristics of decreased Voltage(Voc and Vmp) with the increased temperature on the PV cell. For these reasons, this research analyzed a direct interrelation between PV Cell temperature and electricity generation performance under different insulation conditions in the spandrel area. The different insulation conditions under consideration are 1) high insulated spandrel(HIS) 2) low insulated spandrel(LIS) 3) PV stand alone on the ground(SAG). As a result, in case of 1) HIS, PV temperature was increased and thus electricity generation efficiency was decreased more than other cases. To be specific, each cases' maximum temperature indicated that 1) HIS is $83.8^{\circ}C$, 2) LIS is $74.2^{\circ}C$, and 3) SAG is $66.3^{\circ}C$. Also, each cases yield electricity generation like that 1) HIS is 913.3kWh/kWp, 2) LIS is 942.8kWh/kWp, and 3) SAG is 981.3kWh/kWp. These result showed that it is needed for us to seek to the way how the PV Cell temperature would be decreased.

In this paper a new kind of unit-prefabricated building is shown. The unit-prefabricated buildings are made up living unit, energy unit, water unit. The design trend implemented the energy insulation, solar PV panels, energy storage system which are maintained for zero energy buildings. We made a prototype for zero energy flexible residential unit. The first step, we was evaluated the physical performance, insulation, airtightness. The second step, we was evaluated energy performance building to design heating and cooling system to combined PV system. As a results, the insulation performance wall was $0.18W/(m^2{\cdot}K)$. The results of air-tightness was 12.13 ACH@50 (1/h). The building energy demand ratings and solar energy generation has the possible to be ballanced.

During the initial design stage of apartment complex, the photovoltaic(PV) system has been considered as an alternative of renewable energy system and planned to install at the rooftop floor level in general. The electric power generation characteristics can be influenced by the block layout, building orientation and roof top structure because of azimuth angle, tilt angle, and partial shading. This study aims to investigate power generation characteristics of photovoltaic system in apartment buildings by considering the partial shading conditions due to the block layout, building orientation and roof-top structures. For the photovoltaic module arrangement planning in rooftop floor level, shading areas were firstly analyzed due to the adjacent building structure. And the annual and seasonal power generation of PV system were analyzed through the PVsyst simulation results. The results show that shading period at the roof top surface can be increased due to the parapet and water tank. Initial design power capacity can be decreased by considering the daily insolation period and distance between PV modules through the shading simulation. As the number of PV modules decreases, the annual power generation can be decreased. However annual power generation per unit area of PV modules can be increased and performance ratio can be increased above 80%. Also the power generation of PV system can be critically affected by building orientation and the performance ratio can be drastically decreased in east-oriented buildings due to the shading problems caused by adjacent structures at roof top level such as parapet and water tank.

Solar Thermal-Electric Integrated system can be used to generate heat and electricity simultaneously and can improve indoor all qualify. So, it can save heating and electricity cost as it operates at relatively lower temperatures. In this study, one pv module was fixed on a normal wall and a pv module was mounted on a solarwall. And a ventilation fan in the solar energy cogeneration panel was operated from 12:00 to 17:00 hours. Experimental results are recorded and anaysized. The comparison of results show that the temperature of PV on solar energy cogeneration panel was decreased by $7{\sim}9^{\circ}C$ and the electrical output was improved by $2{\sim}3W$ compared with a PV system without solarwall.

Increasing energy prices and growing concerns about global warming address the need to improve energy self-sufficiency in many industrial and municipal sectors. Wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) are representative of energy-consuming facilities in Korea, accounting for 5% of national energy consumption. We present renewable energy technologies and energy self-sufficiency scenarios in a municipal WWTP ($30,000m^3d^{-1}$) located in Yongin, South Korea. By employing photovoltaics (PV, 135 kW), small hydropower turbine (10 kW), and thermal energy from treated effluent (25 RT: refrigeration ton) within the WWTP, a total of 142 tonne of oil equivalent (toe) of energy was estimated to be generated, accounting for $365ton\;CO_2\;yr^{-1}$ of greenhouse gas emission reduction. Core renewable technologies under consideration include 1) hybrid solar PV system consisting of fixed PV, dual-axis PV, and building integrated PV, 2) low-head small hydropower plant specifically designed for treated effluent, 3) effluent heat recovery system for heating and air conditioning. In addition to these core technologies, smart operation and management scheme will be presented for enhancing overall energy savings and distribution within the WWTP.
In this study, the energy and economic analysis of KIER Zero Energy Solar House (KIER ZeSH) was carried out. KIER ZeSH was designed and constructed in the end of 2009 for the purpose of more than 70% energy self-sufficiency in total load as well as less than 20% of additional construction cost. The several building energy conservation technologies like as super insulation, high performance window, wast heat recovery system, etc and renewable energy system. The renewable heating and cooling system is a kind of solar thermal system combined with geo-source heat pump as a back-up device. The capacity of 3.15kW solar BIPV system was also installed on the roof. The measurement by monitering system of ZeSH was conducted for one year from November 2009 to October 2010. The energy self-sufficiency and economic analysis were conducted based on the this monitering result. As a result, the energy self sufficiency is about 83% which is higher than that of the target and the payback period is 11 years.
The application of photovoltaics into building as integrated building components has been paid more attention worldwide. Photovoltaics or solar electric modules are solid state devices, directly converting solar radiation into electricity; the process does not require fuel and any moving parts, and produce no pollutants. And the prefab building method is very effective because the pre-manufactured building components is simply assembled to making up buildings in the construction fields especially the sandwich panel. So, the purpose of this research is to integrated prefab building materials depending on the cooling type of PV modules. It is concluded that the prediction of BIPV system's performance should be based on the more accurate PV module temperature. From the basis of these results on the correlation of temperature and irradiation were obtained.

BIPV(Building Integrated PV) system can expect dual effects that reduce expenses for establishment of PV system by adding new function as outer covering material of building expect producing the electricity. In case of PV(photovoltaic system) there are many generation differences according to the exterior environmental facts(solar cell array, design and installation condition of interactive inverter system). In this paper, we compared constitute factors of 3kW BIPV(solar cell module, inverter), operating characteristic and total system characteristic(utilization, generation efficiency, loss fact) and found out long time operating data using a watch instrumentations. By use of long time operating result, compare a totally operating characteristics, and we proposed a next building application of BIPV. BIPV system that is proposed in this paper, was established in Solar Energy research center of Chosun University, composed with system. The objective of this paper, is to provide a efficient BIPV design method through the considerations for the integration of PV system.
