PV power generation, which directly converts solar radiation into electricity, contains numerous significant advantages. It is inexhaustible and pollution-free, silent, contains no rotating parts, and has size-independent electricity conversion efficiency. The positive environmental effect of photovoltaics is that it replaces the more polluting methods of electricity generation or that it provides electricity where none was available before. This paper highlights a novel simple method to abstract the entire parameters of the solar cell. In development, design and operation of PV power generation systems, a technique for constructing V-I curves under different levels of solar irradiance and cell temperature conditions using basic characteristic values of the PV module is required. Everyone who has performed manual acquisition and analysis of solar cell I versus V data would agree that the job is tedious and time-consuming. A better alternative is to use an automated curve tracer to print out the I versus V curves and compute the four major parameters; $V_{oc}$, $I_{sc}$, FF, and . Generally, the V-I curve tracer indicates only the commonly used solar cell parameters. However, with the conventional V-I curve tracer it is almost impossible to abstract the more detailed parameters of the solar cell; A, $R_{s}$ and $R_{sh}$ , which satisfies the user, who aims at the analysis of the development of the PV power generation system, that being advanced simulation. In this paper, the proposed method provides us with satisfactory results to enable us to abstract the detailed parameters of the solar cell; A, $R_s$ and $R_{sh}$.>.
In this paper, we analyze the electrical characteristics of PV depending on distance among solar cells before and after lamination process. From the result, the PV module's maximum power increases about 3.37% when solar cells's distance is 10mm. And the maximum power increases up to 8.42% when solar cells's maximum distance is 50mm. It is assumed that PV module's surface temperature decreases because of increasing distance between solar cells that would give high power generation. Also, short distance between solar cell and frame result in contamination on glass. When considering reduced maximum power caused by contaminant, from that. we can fabricated PV module of lower cost with high performance.

PV cell modeling is necessary both for software and hardware simulators in analyzing and testing the performance of PV generation systems. Unique I-V curve of a PV cell identifies its own characteristics by electrical equivalent model that is composed of diode constants ($I_o$, $v_t$), photo-generated current ($I_{ph}$), series resistance ($R_s$), and shunt resistance ($R_{sh}$). Photo-generated current can be easily estimated since it is proportional to irradiation level. However, other electrical parameters should be solved from the manufacturer's data sheet that is consisted with three remarkable operating points such as open circuit voltage ($V_{oc}$), short circuit current ($I_{sc}$), and maximum power voltage/current ($V_{MPP}/I_{MPP}$). This paper explains and analyzes mathematical process of a novel PV cell modeling algorithm that was proposed by the authors with the name of "K-algorithm".
Solar PV(photovoltaic) is paid great attention to as a possible renewable energy source to overcome recent global energy crisis. However to be a viable alternative energy source compared with fossil fuel, its market competitiveness should be attained. Grid parity is one of effective measure of market competitiveness of renewable energy. In this paper, we forecast the grid parity timing of solar PV energy in Korea using two factor learning curve model. Two factors considered in the present model are production capacity and technological improvement. As a result, it is forecasted that the grid parity will be achieved in 2019 in Korea.

With the opening of the small power brokerage business market in December 2018, the small power trading market has started in Korea. Operators must submit the day-ahead estimates of power output and receive incentives based on its accuracy. Therefore, the accuracy of power generation forecasts is directly affects profits of the operators. The forecasting process for power generation can be divided into two procedure. The first is to forecast solar irradiation and the second is to transform forecasted solar irradiation into power generation. There are two methods for transformation. One is to simulate with physical model, and another is to use regression model. In this study, we found the best-fit regression model by analyzing hourly data of PV output and solar irradiation data during three years for 242 PV plants in Korea. The best model was not a linear model, but a sigmoidal model and specifically a Gompertz model. The combined linear regression and Gompertz curve was proposed because a the curve has non-zero y-intercept. As the result, R2 and RMSE between observed data and the curve was significantly reduced.

A great deal of study for loss reduction of photovoltaic system is conducted currently. It is hard to distinct the fault of photovoltaic system with the naked eye. For that reason, it is essential to repair and maintain the PV system by monitoring the system. The fault of individual modules can cause the huge loss of the entire system because of the mismatch. Therefore, the method of diagnosing the PV array is necessary by measuring the multi-channel arrays simultaneously. In this paper, it is presented the method of measuring I-V curve of multi-channel arrays simultaneously by using the charge and discharge characteristics of capacitor. Generated DC power at PV arrays is charged and discharged at the capacitors in a moment. By measuring the charged voltage and current, it is possible to diagnose of performance of PV arrays.
Under the current policies and compensation rules in South Korea, Photovoltaic (PV) generation supplier can maximize the profit by combining PV generation with Energy Storage System (ESS). However, the existing operational strategy of ESS is not able to maximize the profit due to the limitation of ESS capacity. In this paper, new ESS scheduling algorithm is introduced by utilizing the System Marginal Price (SMP) and PV generation forecasting to maximize the profits of PV generation supplier. The proposed algorithm determines the charging time of ESS by ranking the charging schedule from low to high SMP when PV generation is more than enough to charge ESS. The discharging time of ESS is determined by ranking the discharging schedule from high to low SMP when ESS energy is not enough to maintain the discharging. To compensate forecasting error, the algorithm is updated every hour to apply the up-to-date information. The simulation is performed to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm by using actual PV generation and ESS information.
This system can predict the maximum output about all illumination levels so that the PV system designer can design the system having the best efficiency. For the output prediction exact about the solar cell, that is the device the basis most in the PV system, the basis has to be in order to try this way. The solution based on Lambert W-function are presented to express the transcendental current-voltage characteristic containing parasitic power consuming parameters like series and shunt resistances. A simple and efficient method for the extraction of a single current-voltage (I-V) curve under the constant illumination level is proposed. With the help of the Lambert W function, the explicit analytic expression for I is obtained. And the explicit analytic expression for V is obtained. This analytic expression is directly used to fit the experimental data and extract the device parameters. The I-V curve of the solar cell was expressed through the modeling using Lambert W-function and the numerical formula where there is the difficulty could be logarithmically expressed This method expresses with the I-V curve through the modeling using Lambert W-function which adds other loss ingredients to the equation2 as to the research afterward. And the solar cell goes as small and this I-V curve can predict the power penalty in the system unit.
The paper presents a method of assessing the adequate tapaclty of photovoltaic generation systems for public buildings based on analysis of load variation patterns of customers. When PV systems are installed for supplying power for the customer load, reverse power relay is required by the guideline to be installed at the point of common coupling with the power network. The suggested method analyzes daily, weekly and monthly load demand of the customer that Irishes PV system installation, and determines the appropriate rating of the PV system for preventing PV generation from exceeding the customer demand. This work is expected to support renewable energy dissemination projects of public organizations.
