New higher-order triangular shell finite elements based on the partition of unity

  • Finite elements based on the partition of unity (PU) approximation have powerful capabilities for p-adaptivity and solutions with high smoothness without remeshing of the domain. Recently, the PU approximation was successfully applied to the three-node shell finite element, properly eliminating transverse shear locking and showing excellent convergence properties and solution accuracy. However, the enrichment with the PU approximation results in a significant increase in the number of degrees of freedom; therefore, it requires greater computational cost, thus making it less suitable for practical engineering. To circumvent this disadvantage, we propose a new strategy to decrease the total number of degrees of freedom in the existing PU-based shell element, without loss of optimal convergence and accuracy. To alleviate the locking phenomenon, we use the method of mixed interpolation of tensorial components and perform convergence studies to show the accuracy and capability of the proposed shell element. The excellent performances of the new shell elements are illustrated in three benchmark problems.

창상치료용 폴리우레탄 폼의 제조 및 특성연구 (Fabrication and Characterization of Polyurethane Foam for Wound Dressing)

  • 본 연구에서는 hard segment 함량(%)별로 친수성의 폴리우레탄 프리폴리머를 합성한 후 다양한 발포 혼합 조성액을 이용하여 폴리우레탄 폼을 제조하였다. 그 결과 사슬연장제를 도입한 폴리우레탄 프리폴리머가 도입하지 않은 것에 비해 기계적 물성이 우수하였다. 또한 폴리우레탄 구조에 hard segment 함량(%)을 높임으로써 폴리우레탄의 기계적 물성을 향상시킬 수 있었다. 한편 발포 혼합조성액에서도 F-68, 글리세린, CMC 등의 원료 배합비를 조정함으로써 최종적으로 제조된 폴리우레탄 폼의 기계적 물성과 흡수도, 흡수속도, 모폴로지 등을 조절할 수 있었다. 제조된 폴리우레탄 폼은 세포배양 결과 세포적합성이 우수하였고, 동물실험 결과 대조군인 거즈에 비하여 월등한 창상치유 효과를 보였으므로 창상치료용 소재로서의 적용 가능성이 높음을 알 수 있었다.

열잠재성 개시제에 의한 에폭시/폴리우레탄 블렌드의 경화거동 및 파괴인성 (Cure Behaviors and Mechanical Interfacial Properties of Epoxy/Polyurethane Blends Initiated by Latent Thermal Catalyst)

  • 본 연구는 열잠재성 개시제인 N-benzylpyrazinium hexafluoroantimonate (BPH)로 개시되어진 이관능성 에폭시인 diglycidylether of bisphenol A (DGEBA)와 변성 polyurethane (PU) 블렌드의 PU의 함량에 따른 경화거동과 파괴인성을 연구하였다. 블렌드의 경화거동은 시차주사 열량계(DSC)와 near-IR 을 통해 관찰하였고, 파괴인성은 임계응력 세기인자($K_{IC}$)와 임계 변형에너지 방출속도($G_{IC}$)를 측정하였다. 실험 결과, 경화 활성화에너지($E_a$)와 전환율(${\alpha}$)은 PU의 함량이 10 phr에서 최고값을 나타냈으며, $K_{IC}$는 전환율과 유사한 경향을 나타냄을 확인하였다. 이는 PU의 이소시아네이트기와 DGEBA의 하이드록실기 사이의 수소 결합이 증가함에 따라 블렌드의 가교밀도가 증가했기 때문으로 판단되어 진다.

Factors Influencing Users' Word-of-Mouth Intention Regarding Mobile Apps : An Empirical Study

  • Purpose - This paper aims to identify factors that influence the users' word-of-mouth intention (WOMI) regarding mobile apps, focussing on the impacts of technology acceptance model (TAM) and social network theory. Research design, data and methodology - Based on TAM, this study integrates social network theory into the research model. The 317 sets of data collected in a survey were tested against the model using SmartPLS. Results - Our findings suggest the following: 1) Personal innovativeness positively influences perceived usefulness (PU), perceived ease of use (PEU) and perceived enjoyment (PE); 2) PEU affects PU and PE; 3) Both PU and Satisfaction are directly correlated with WOMI. Although PEU and PE has no direct impact on WOMI, they may indirectly affect WOMI via Satisfaction, as PU, PEU and PE all positively influence satisfaction; 4) Network density and network centrality both play a mediating role in the relation between PEU and WOMI. Referral Reward Program have a positive moderating effect on the relation between PU and WOMI. Conclusions - The findings of this study illustrate the traits of Apps that can promote users' WOMI, as well as the characteristics of people who are more likely to participate in the word-of-mouth process. The findings provide a theoretical basis for app developers to make word-of-mouth a marketing strategy.

CLSR: Cognitive Link State Routing for CR-based Tactical Ad Hoc Networks

  • The Cognitive Radio (CR) paradigm in tactical ad hoc networks is an important element of future military communications for network-centric warfare. This paper presents a novel Cognitive Link State Routing protocol for CR-based tactical ad hoc networks. The proposed scheme provides prompt and reliable routes for Primary User (PU) activity through procedures that incorporate two main functions: PU-aware power adaptation and channel switching. For the PU-aware power adaptation, closer multipoint relay nodes are selected to prevent network partition and ensure successful PU communication. The PU-aware channel switching is proactively conducted using control messages to switch to a new available channel based on a common channel list. Our simulation study based on the ns-3 simulator demonstrates that the proposed routing scheme delivers significantly improved performance in terms of average end-to-end delay, jitter, and packet delivery ratio.

Chitosan-polyurethane 혼합 용액으로 처리된 직물의 태 연구 - 면, 폴리에스터, 나일론 직물의 열 Curing - (A Study on the Hand of the Fabrics Treated with Chitosan-polyurethane Mixture Solution -Thermal Curing of Cotton, Polyester, and Nylon Fabrics-)

  • The textile finishing methods utilizing chitosan have been mostly focused on the applications in the improvement of the dyeing of cotton fabrics, or the improvement of hand of the cotton or wool fabrics. On the other hand, it Is difficult to find the application examples in the synthetic fiber fabrics including polyester and nylon fabrics. The aim of this study is to improve the stiffness and the poor wash fastness of the fabrics treated only with chitosan. We tried to improve the softness by employing chitosan and polyurethane mixture solution and to prevent the detachment of the chitosan from the fabric. The treatment was applied to cotton, polyester, and nylon fabrics. The change of the properties of the treated fabrics were investigated. The optimum finishing condition was sought by changing the mixture ratio of the chitosan/PU(polyurethane) solutions. The adjusted ratios of the chitosan/PU solutions were 1 : 0, 1 : 0.25, 1 : 0.5, and 1 : 2 during the mixture solution preparation. Using the KES(Kawabata Evaluation System), the physical and mechanical properties of the finished fabric specimens were analyzed, and hand values of the specimens were calculated through the use of translational formulas. According to the chemical composition of the fibers, chitosan solution or chitosan/PU mixture exhibited wide range of coating effect. Since the chitosan acid solution has high polarity, the bonding force with the cotton fibers is high. By the appropriate addition of PU in the chitosan treatment of cotton, KOSHI and HARI values of the fabric improved. The air permeability of the chitosan/PU treated cotton fabric specimen improved, resulting in the highest value at the mixture of chitosan : PU=1:0.25.

전기방사를 이용한 향나무 추출물 함유 PU 나노웹 제조 (Electrospinning Fabrication of Juniperus Chinensis Extracts Loaded PU Nanoweb)

  • 전기방사법을 이용하여 향나무 추출물을 함유하는 폴리우레탄 나노섬유를 제조하였다. 폴리우레탄은 적절한 성분 배합 제조가 가능하므로 다양한 산업 분야, 의료 분야에서 널리 이용되고 있는 소재이다. 향나무는 항암, 항균, 항곰팡이, 항바이러스성을 가진 것으로 알려져 있다. 향나무 추출물의 다양한 농도(0.25, 0.5, 1, 1.5wt.%)를 포함하는 폴리우레탄 복합 나노섬유를 제조하였다. 나노섬유를 제조하기 위한 다양한 공정변수(방사용액의 농도, TCD, 인가전압)의 변화를 살펴보았다. 실험을 통해 얻어진 PU방사용액의 적정 전기방사 조건은, 방사용액의 농도가 12wt%, 인가전압은 8kV, TCD는 15cm로 나타났다. SEM을 통한 향나무 추출물을 함유하는 나노섬유의 직경은 435nm~547nm였으며, 향나무 추출물의 함량이 증가함에 따라 나노섬유의 평균직경은 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 개발된 나노웹은 의료 소재, 보호복 소재, 항균필터 소재 등으로의 활용이 기대된다.

생물학적 방법에 의한 하수 중계펌프장의 악취제거 (Removal of Malodorous Gases Emitted from a Wastewater Pumping Stations by Biological Methods)

  • 하수 중계펌프장에서 발생되는 악취를 효율적으로 저감할 수 있는 기술로 4가지 기술(활성탄 흡착법, 약액세정법, 지렁이 분변로를 이용한 탈취법, 바이오필터법)의 탈취 효율과 경제성을 조사하였다. PU 바이오필터와 활성탄 흡착법의 평균탈취 효율은 98% 이상이었으나, 지렁이 분변토 바이오필터와 약액세정법은 60-80%의 탈취율을 보였다. PU 바이오필터 탈취 성능은 악취가스의 체류시간이 4-36초에서 체류시간과 무관하게 약 98-99%로 매우 안정적이었고, 최대 탈취능은 으로 평가되었다. $1.6${\times}$10^{ 7}$ $OUm^{-3}$$h^{-1}$ PU 바이오필터와 활성탄 흡착법의 탈취비용을 조사하였다. 악취 강도가 증가함에 따라 활성탄 흡탁법의 운전비는 선형적으로 증가하였지만 바이오필터법은 약간 증가하였다. 바이오필터의 초기 시설비의 비용이 활성탄 흡탁법의 2배 이상이었지만 운전비가 활성탄 보다 아주 저렴한 것으로 평가되었다. 결론적으로 탈취효율과 경제성이 우수한 생물여과법이 가장 유망한 기술로 평가되었다.

한방재활의학과학회지에 수록된 무작위대조임상연구의 양적, 질적 분석(1) (Randomized Controlled Clinical Trials in the Journal of Oriental Rehabilitation Medicine : A Quantitative and Qualitative Analysis(1))

  • Objectives : The aim of this study is to assess the quantity and quality of randomized controlled clinical trials(RCTs) published in the journal of oriental rehabilitation medicine(JORM). Methods : After searching RCTs from all the articles published in the JORM from the inception(1991) to Oct, 2012, quantity assessment were made on the study design, sample size, main intervention, intervention versus control design and medical condition. Quality assessment were made on the cochrane risk of bias(RoB) check list. Assessment was performed by 2 independent reviewers and disagreement was discussed based on concensus of all authors. Results : Among the 1013 articles, total 59 RCTs were published. First RCT was published in 1994. 49 RCTs were parallel 2-arm designed. Average sample size was 35.1 per study and 16.3 per arm. The most common medical condition is musculoskeletal disease(30.5%). Quality from cochrane RoB was generally low. Conclusions : Though RCTs published in JORM were increasing, the quality remains low. Researchers should make a effort to follow the RoB checklists and improve the quantity and quality of studies.

Benzene Biodegradation Using the Polyurethane Biofilter Immobilized with Stenotrophomonas maltophilia T3-c

  • The benzene removal characteritics of the polyurethane (PU) biofilter immobilized with S. maltophilia T3-c, that could efficiently degrade benzene, was investigated. Maximum capacity to eliminate benzene was maintained at $100-110g{\cdot}m^-3{\cdot}h^-1$ when space velocity (SV) ranged from 100 to $300 h^-1$ -1/, however, it decreased sharply to $55 g{\cdot}m^-3{\cdot}h^-1^$ as SV increased to $400 h^-1$. The critical elimination capacities that guaranteed $90\%$ removal of inlet loading of the PU biofilter were determined to be 70,30, and $15 g{\cdot}m^-3{\cdot}h^-1$ at SV 100,200, and $300 h^-1$, respectively. Based on the result of a kinetic analysis of the PU biofilter, maximum benzene elimination velocity ($V_m$) was $125 g{\cdot}m^-3^\;of\;PU{\cdot}h^-1$ and saturation constant ($K_m$) was $0.22 g{\cdot}m^-3^$ of benzene ($65{\mu}{\cdot}I^-1$). This study suggests that the biofilter utilizing S. maltophilia T3-c and polyurethane is a very promising technology for effectively degrading benzene.
