Unlike the case of $Ir(ppy)_3$, various aggregates of PtOEP including dimer are formed in PtOEP-doped films and neat film. Such a difference is due to difference of competition among solid state solvation effect, dipole-dipole interactions between dopant molecules, and intermolecular covalent bonding.
A series of vitamin-containing Pt(II) complexes of the type [Pt (FMN) (L)] (FMN=flavin mononucleotide, L=ethylenediamine, 1,3-propanediamine, 1,4-bu-tanediamine) was synthesizd and characterized by IR, electronic absorption, elemental analysis and FAB=Mass. The coordination sites of FMN to Pt(II) ions were determined to be N(5) and O(6) with resultant chelate ring formation. Theses compounds have much better water solubility (30-35 mg/ml) than cisplatin (1 mg/ml). The anticancer activity of this vitamin-containing Pt(II) series was investigated by MTT assay against mouse and human leukemia cell lines in vitro. Among these compounds, FMN (1,4-butanediamine) Pt(II) having seven-membered ring structure as amine ligand showed moderate anticancer activity.

The electrical properties of PZT thin film capacitor on TiN/W plug structure were investigated for high density ferroelectric memory devices. In order to enhance the ferroelectric properties of PZT capacitor, the process conditions of bottom electrodes were optimized. The fabricated PZT capacitor on TiN/W plug showed good remanent polarization, leakage current, and contact resistance of TiN/W plug, which were $33\;{\mu}C/cm^2$, $1.2{\times}10^{-6}\;A/cm^2$, and 5.3 ohm/contact, respectively.
This study was conducted to investigate the characteristics of CO oxidation by NO poisoning in Pt/TiO2 catalyst prepared by wet impregnation method and calcined at 400 ℃. In order to confirm the NO poisoning effect of the Pt/TiO2 catalyst, the change of reaction activity was observed when NO was injected during the CO+O2 reaction where it was ascertained that the CO conversion rate rapidly decreased below 200 ℃. Also, CO conversion was not observed below 125 ℃. Recovery of initial CO conversion was not verified even if NO injection was blocked at 125 ℃. Accordingly, various analyses were performed according to NO injection. First, as a result of the TPD analysis, it was confirmed that NO pre-adsorption in catalyst inhibited CO adsorption and conversion desorption from adsorbed CO to CO2. When NO was pre-adsorbed, it was confirmed through H2-TPR analysis that the oxygen mobility of the catalyst was reduced. In addition, it was validated through FT-IR analysis that the redox cycle (Pt2+→Pt0→Pt2+) of the catalyst was inhibited. Therefore, the presence of NO in the Pt/TiO2 catalyst was considered to be a poisoning factor in the CO oxidation reaction, and it was determined that the oxygen mobility of the catalyst is required to prevent NO poisoning.
Pt-complexes is currently one of the most compounds used in the treatment of solid tumors. However, its used is limited by severe side effects such as renal toxicity. Our platinum-based drug discovery program is aimed at developing drugs capable of diminishing toxicity and improving antitumor activity. We synthesized new Pt (II) complex analogues containing 1, 2-diaminocyclohexane (dach) as carrier ligand and 1, 3-bis (diphenylphosphino) propane (DPPP)/1,2-bis (diphenylphosphino) ethane (DPPE) as a leaving group. Furthermore, nitrate was added to improve the solubility. A new series of (KHPC-001) [Pt (trans-1-dach)(DPPP)] $2NO_3$ and (KHPC-002) [Pt (trans-1-dach)(DPPE)] $2NO_3$ were synthesized and characterized by their elemental analysis and by various spectroscopic techniques [infrared (IR), $^{13}carbon$ nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)]. KHPC-001 and KHPC-002 demonstrated acceptable antitumor activity aganist P-388, L-1210 lymphocytic leukemia cells and significant activity as compared with that of cisplatin. The toxicity of KHPC-001 and KHPC-002 was found quite less than that of cisplatin using MTT, $[^3H]$ thymidine uptake and glucose consumption tests in rabbit proximal tubule cells and human kidney cortical cells.
This study has carried out a performance of dimensionally stable anode for the purpose of decolorization of Rhodamine B (RhB) in water. Seven kinds of 1, 2 and 3 component electrodes were prepared by plating and thermal deposition, which were coated by the oxides of Pt, Ru, Ir, Sn-Sb, Ir-Sn-Sb, Ru-Sn-Sb and Ru-Sn-Ti on Ti metal surface, respectively. Performance for RhB decolorization of the seven electrodes lay in: Ru-Sn-Ti/Ti ${\fallingdotseq}$ Ru-Sn-Sb/Ti > Ir-Sn-Sb/Ti > Sn-Sb/Ti > Ru/Ti > Ir/Ti > Pt/Ti. The effects of electrode area and distance, electrolyte type and concentration, current density and pH were investigated on the decolorization of RhB using Ru-Sn-Ti/Ti electrode. Decolorization of RhB was not influenced by electrode area and distance largely, however wattage was influenced by them. NaCl was superior to the decolorization of RhB than $Na_2SO_4$. Optimum NaCl dosage and current density were 0.5 g/L and $0.183A/cm^2$, respectively. The pH effect of decolorization of RhB was not significant within the range of 3-7.
In this study, we successfully prepared CNT/$TiO_2$, Pt/CNT and Pt/CNT/$TiO_2$ composites and investigated their photocatalytic activity in MB solution by irradiation under UV light. Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy was used to characterize the functional group on the surface of MWCNTs, which oxidized by MCPBA. Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface area, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) were used to analyze the prepared composites. The results of the decomposition of the MB solution indicated that the Pt/CNT/$TiO_2$ composite had the best photocatalytic activity among the three kinds of composites.

Nafion/Pt/Polypyrrole composite membranes were fabricated by chemical in-situ polymerization of pyrrole monomers with Pt precursors in Nafion matrix for DMFC. We demonstrated that positively charged pyrrolinum groups of polypyrrole particles were co-interacted with sulfonic groups of Nafion as verified by FT-IR results. Mutual interaction between $Nafion-SO_3^-$ (or negatively charged Pt precursors) and Polypyrrole$-NH_2^+$ influenced the physical properties of pristine Nafion. Thermal property proton conductivity, methanol permeability, and cell performance of pristine and modified Nafion were analyzed for an application of DMFC membrane. Thermal stabilities of sulfonic groups and side chains in Nafion/Pt/polypyrrole composite membranes were higher than those of Nafion due to mutual interaction between sulfonic groups of Nafion and pyrrolinum groups of polypyrrole. Methanol permeabilities of Nafion/Pt/Polypyrrole composite were reduced more proton conductivities with the increase in the content of Pt particles. As a result of that, the enhancement of cell performance by Nafion/Pt/Polypyrole O2 relative to Nafion was more pronounced under the specific experimental condition such as high temperature and more concentrated methanol solution.
Zeolite HY is wet impregnated with Ni (0.1, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5 wt%), Pt (0.1 wt%) and reduced in presence of hydrogen to form nanosized particles of Ni and Pt. All the catalysts were characterized by XRD, TEM, ESCA, NH3-TPD, Pyridine adsorbed FT-IR and BET. Characterization results confirm that the Ni and Pt fractions effectively rehabilitated the physio-chemical properties of the zeolite HY catalysts. Further, all the reduced catalyst were screened with hydroisomerization of m-xylene at LHSV = 2.0 h-1 in the temperature range 250-400 ℃ in steps of 50 ℃ in hydrogen atmosphere (20 ml/g). The addition of Ni to Pt catalyst increases hydroisomerization conversion, as well as maximizes p-xylene selectivity by restricting the pore size. The increasing trend in activity continues up to 0.3 wt% of Ni and 0.1 wt% Pt addition over zeolite HY. The increasing addition of Ni increases the total number of active metallic sites to exposed, which increases the metallic sites/acid sites ratio towards the optimum value for these reactions by better balance of synergic effect for stable activity. The rate of deactivation is pronounced on monometallic catalysts. The results confirm the threshold Ni addition is highly suitable for hydroisomerization reaction for product selectivity over Ni-Pt bimetallic/support catalysts.
Personality characteristics of TMJ dysfunction patients was studied by means of MMPI test. 100 TMJ dysfunction patients and 100 healthy controls were subjected at the Department of Oral Diagnosis and Oral Medicine, Pusan National University Hospital, during the period from March 1983 to February 1985. All the patients were divided into 2 groups namely, acute group and chronic group by duration of path and discomfort problems for 6 months or longer. The obtained results were as follows : 1. Mean value of T-scores on each clinical scale was within normal range in both patient and control group. 2. There was significant difference in scales of Hs, D. Hy, Pt, Sc and IR between patient and control group. 3. As compared with control group by sexual subclass, scales of Hs, Hy and Pt of both sex, scales of Sc and M-DI of male and scales of D of female in patient group were significantly higher than those in control group 4. The longer was duration of TMJ problems, i.e., in increasing order of control, acute and chronic group, the higher was mean value of T-scores on scales of Hs, D, Hy, Pt, Sc, IR and M-DI. 5. Mean values of T-scores on scales of Hs, D and Hy were the highest in all the clinical scales of total class and subclasses(i. e. male group, female group, acute group and chronic group) with TMJ dysfunction and showed 1-:i-2 (Hs, -Hy, -D. ) profile pattern, conversion "V.ot;V.
