  • In order to publicly notify the information security (Internet or Cyber) threat level, the security companies have developed the Threat Meters. As the physical security devices are getting more intelligent and can be monitored and managed through networks, we propose a physical security threat meter (PSTM) to determine the current threat level of physical security; that is a very similar compared with the one of information security. For this purpose, we investigate and prioritize the physical security events, and consider the impact of temporal correlation among multiple security events. We also present how to determine the threshold values of threat levels, and then propose a practical PSTM using the threshold based decision. In particular, we show that the proposed scheme is fully implementable through showing the block diagram in detail and the whole implementation processes with the access controller and CCTV+video analyzer system. Finally the simulation results show that the proposed PSTM works perfectly under some test scenarios.

  • We have carried out a basic experiment in order to develope a super high-resolution optical microscope which transcend the limitation of diffraction and the wavelength of lightwave. The image of this scope is composed by measuring the evanescent wave which is localized on the surface of the testing materials. A detecting probe was fabricated with a single mode optical fiber to be sharpened by the chemical etching, and drived by PZT. The standing wave of $0.33\mu\textrm{m}$ wavelength evanescent wave which was generated from the $0.78\mu\textrm{m}$-wavelength semiconductor laser was detected by the $0.5\mu\textrm{m}$-thickness optical fiber probe.

  • A variety of techniques has been employed in order to reduce problems caused by the crystallization of paraffin and saturated fatty acid esters in diesel fuel containing biodiesels. Methacrylate copolymers are known as additives which reduce the pour point and cold filtering plugging point (CFPP) of diesel fuels. This paper describes the synthesis, characterization and low temperature properties, having as an initial step the synthesis of the alkyl methacrylate monomers by esterification of methacrylic acid with C12, C18, and C22 fatty alcohols. The copolymerization of these monomers with styrene was then performed, with molar ratios of 30:70, 50:50 and 70:30 for styrene:alkyl methacrylate. All copolymers were characterized by $^1H-NMR$, FT-IR, and gel permeation chromatography (GPC). The poly(styrene-co-alkyl methacrylate)s (PStmSMAn) leads to a large reduction in the pour point and CFPP of poly(styrene-co-alkyl methacrylate) in ultra low sulfur diesel (ULSD) and BD5 with treated 100~5000 ppm of poly(styrene-co-alkyl methacrylate). BD5 fuel containing 5000 ppm of the copolymer (PSt82SMA18) showed a $25^{\circ}C$ and $9^{\circ}C$ reduction in their pour points and CFPP, respectively.

  • We made sharp optical fiber tips with less than 100 nm diameter by using the heating and pulling method with a good repetition and fabricated the photon scanning tunneling microscope (PSTM) using constant intensity mode. The 3-dimensional PZT (Piezoelctric transducer) scanner made of a long PZT tube is consisted of three divided parts, that is, a pair of $\pm$ x and a pair of $\pm$y scanning parts and a z scanning part for the fine approach and scanning. The scanning dimension is 1.43 $\mu\textrm{m}$$\times$1.76 $\mu\textrm{m}$. The height of a optical tip to maintain a constant height within $1/{\lambda}_0$ (${\lambda}_0$ is the incident wavelength) from surface of a specimen to a optical tip is controlled automatically by using the electric feedback circuit. The 3-dimensional shape of standing evanescent waves generated on the surface of a dove prism was measured successfully by using the constant intensity mode PSTM.

  • For interconnecting PSTN and IP Networks, We made a comparative analysis of signaling interworking and also studied SS7 Signaling process as a method for signaling interworking for using the establishment of PATN/IP network and seting up a phone call. As a methode of signalning interworking for linking an intelligent net-service between PSTN/IP Networks, we made researches of the merits and demerits about the access of INAP/SS7 using PSTN SCP and the call-routing of intelligent net-service using PSTM SSP in an IP network. We made a study of the protocol stack in IETF SIGTRAN as the realization for this
