Product-service system (PSS) is a system of products and service, supporting networks and infrastructure that is designed to be competitive. PSSs satisfy customers' needs more effectively and have a lower environmental impact than traditional business models. Therefore, many companies and governmental institutes are eager to implement the PSSs as a new business model. In this paper, we focus on industrial practices as new business models for the company. PSS, especially, is popular in electronic industry, so one can often observe such examples as iPod, iPhone, e-Book and etc in the field. We first thoroughly investigate the current practices of PSS in Korean electronic industry. The examples are surveyed and projected directions are given. Then, non-electronic PSSs are surveyed. Especially mechanical PSSs are intensively discussed. Based on the survey results, we propose several major development strategies of Sustainable PSS (SPSS). SPSS will bring a competitive edge for company as realization of sustainable development of PSS considering economy, society, and environment.

In this paper a Hybrid Real Time HVDC Simulator fur both operator Training and Researching in the Cheju-Haenam HVDC System is proposed and its performance is studied by means of RTDS (Real Time Digital Simulator), EMTDC (Electro-Magnetic Transients system for DC), PSS/E (Power System Simulator for Engineering), and experienced scenarios. The objective of this paper is to represent the strategy in development for KEPCO's hybrid HVDC simulator for the Cheju-Haenam HVDC system. This simulator consists of two DC stations, DC cables, external digital/analog controllers, monitoring systems and control desk for education, and AC networks. Its suitability for operator's education is tested during startup/shutdown and normal state operations. Dynamic performances of it are also verified.

최근 새로운 도시개발의 패러다임으로 지속가능 한 개발에 대한 관심이 고조되고 있다. 지속가능 한 도시개발을 위해 통행량과 통행거리를 줄이는 교통정책과 혼합 고밀의 토지이용을 유도할 수 있는 정책을 수립해야 한다는 점에 대해서는 공감대가 형성되어 있다. 그러나 실증적 차원에서 과연 어떤 정책들이 에너지 소비와 대기가스 방출량을 저감시킴으로서 지속가능 한 도시개발을 도모하는데 효과적인가에 대한 경험적 연구는 매우 부족한 편이다. 본 연구는 지속가능 한 도시개발을 위해 수립한 정책들의 효과나 영향력을 평가할 수 있는 계획지원시스템의 구축과 활용성을 모색하는데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 정책대안에 따른 시나리오를 구축하고 이를 시뮬레이션 하여 그 결과를 비교 평가하는 전 과정을 처리할 수 있는 시스템을 개념적으로 설계하였다. 이 시스템은 크게 투입-모델링-산출의 세 구성요소로 되어 있으며, 가장 핵심적 요소는 토지이용과 교통체계, 환경모델을 통합화하는 모델링이다. 토지이용-교통-환경모델을 통합화하는 접근방법에 대한 장점은 잘 알려져 있으나, 실제로 통합모델을 운용할 수 있도록 개발된 소프트웨어는 매우 적다. 본 연구에서는 지속가능 한 도시개발을 위해 토지이용-교통 통합모델로 알려진 TRANUS의 활용 가능성을 검토하였다. 용인시를 사례로 하여 초기화시점에서 TRANUS를 작동시킨 결과 토지소비량, 총 통행량과 통행거리 및 비용, 에너지 소비량, 대중교통수단 분담율 등 지속가능성 수준을 측정, 평가할 수 있는 결과물들이 산출되었다. 따라서 TRANUS는 우리나라에서도 지속가능 한 도시개발을 위해 효과적인 정책대안을 선정하는데 활용 가능성이 높은 시스템이라고 볼 수 있다.
