  • Te digital simulation of electric power system is a very important tool that can decide a proper protection systems from the design of the systems. Protection systems base on the wrong simulation results can cause a serious danger in the stability of the power system. So, the power system makes for simulation and the actual power system must be maximumly homologized. In this paper, protection relay models used in actual systems were developed in the PSS/E.

Astrocyte lesions in cerebral cortex and cerebellum of dogs with congenital ortosystemic shunting

  • Background: Congenital portosystemic shunt (cPSS) is one of the most common congenital disorders diagnosed in dogs. Hepatic encephalopathy (HE) is a frequent complication in dogs with a cPSS and is a major cause of morbidity and mortality. Despite HE been a major cause of morbidity in dogs with a cPSS, little is known about the cellular changes that occur in the central nervous system of dogs with a cPSS. Objectives: The objective of this study was to characterise the histological changes in the cerebral cortex and cerebellum of dogs with cPSS with particular emphasis on astrocyte morphology. Methods: Eight dogs with a confirmed cPSS were included in the study. Results: Six dogs had substantial numbers of Alzheimer type II astrocytes and all cases had increased immunoreactivity for glial fibrillary acidic protein in the cerebral cortex, even if there were minimal other morphological changes. Conclusions: This study demonstrates that dogs with a cPSS have marked cellular changes in the cerebral cortex and cerebellum. The cellular changes that occur in the cerebral cortex and cerebellum of dogs with spontaneously arising HE are similar to changes which occur in humans with HE, further validating dogs with a cPSS as a good model for human HE.

전력계통 고장복구 교육 시스템에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Power System Restoration Simulator)

  • This paper presents an operator training simulator for power system restoration against massive black-out. The system is designed especially focused on the generality and convenient setting up for initial condition of simulation. The former is accomplished by using power flow calculation methodology, and PSS/E data is used to define the initial situation. The proposed simulator consists of three major components - the power flow(PF) module, data conversion(COW) module and GU subsystem. PF module calculates power flow, and then checks overvoltage of buses and overflow of lines. COW module composes an Y-Bus array and a data base at each restoration action. The initial Y-Bus array is constructed from PSS/E data. The user friendly GUI subsystem is developed including graphic editor and built-in operation manual. As a result, the maximum processing time for one step operation is 15 seconds, which is adequate for training purpose. Comparison with PSS/E simulation proves the accuracy and reliability of the training system.

  • This paper presents an comparative study on the effect of SSSC and UPFC to the power system static analysis. SSSC is used to control active power flow in transmission lines by controlling the phase angle of the injected voltage source which is in rectangular to the line current. UPFC is used to control the magnitude and phase of the injected voltage sources which are connected both in series and in parallel with the transmission line to control power flow and bus voltage. To compare the effect of SSSC and UPFC in power system static analysis, the PSS/E simulation program is used. As the FACTS device model such as SSSC and UPFC is not provided in PSS/E yet, an equivalent load model is used. This procedure is implemented by IPLAN which is an external macro program of PSS/E. The simulation results show that UPFC is more effective to improve bus voltage than SSSC in power system static analysis.

최적화 기법이 적용된 전력계통 안정화 시스템 개발 (Development of power system stabilization program using optimization method)

  • Various protective equiptments are used for the power system control and protection. Numerous facilities are monitored at the same time in real time and introduction of optimization method and analysis of the method are required for generation control and facility management considering the demand fluctuations. However, the existing system analysis programs are difficult to link with the other sw and there are some problems with user convenience. To solve these problems the present conditions of the system are figured out in real time and the equipment insert method was estimated by optimization method, and the system that showed the system analysis program is developed. PSS/E has been used as system anlysis program for stabilizing system development which applied the optimization. method and Python language is applied in order to link the input and output values with the DB automatically. Lastly, DLL of matlab has been made included in C++ for solving the objective function using opmization method.By linking this to DB, power flow was calculated in PSS/E and the result was represented by Intouch screen.

Stability of ITO/Buffer Layer/TPD/Alq3/Cathode Organic Light-emitting Diode

  • We have studied stability in organic light-emitting diode depending on buffer layer and cathode. A transparent electrode of indium-tin-oxide(ITO) was used as an anode. An electron injection energy barrier into organic material is different depending on a work function of cathodes. Theoretically, the energy barriers for the electron injection are 1.2 eV, -0.1 eV, and 0.0 eV for Al, LiAl, and LiF/Al at 300 K, respectively. We considered the cases that holes are injected to organic light-emitting diode. The hole injection energy barrier is about 0.7 eV between ITO and TPD without buffer layer. For hole-injection buffer layers of CuPc and PEDOT:PSS, the hole injection energy barriers are 0.4 eV and 0.5 eV, respectively. When the buffer layer of CuPc and PEDOT:PSS is existed, we observed the effects of hole injection energy barrier, and a reduction of operating-voltage. However, in case of PVK buffer layer, the hole injection energy barrier becomes high(1.0 eV). Even though the operating voltage becomes high, the efficiency is improved. A device structure for optimal lifetime condition is ITO/PEDOT:PSS/TPD/$Alq_3$/LiAl at an initial luminance of $300cd/m^2$.

5G NR 시스템에서 PSS/SSS를 이용한 Cell ID 검출 방법 (Cell ID Detection Schemes Using PSS/SSS for 5G NR System)

  • 본 논문에서는 5G NR (new radio) 시스템에서 PSS/SSS (primary synchronization signal/secondary synchronization signal)를 이용한 cell ID (cell identity) 검출 방법들을 제시하고 성능을 평가한다. 시간 영역에서 PSS를 먼저 검출한 후 검출된 PSS 정보를 이용하여 채널 추정 및 SSS의 시퀀스 검출에 사용하는 2단계(2-stage) 검출 방법과 PSS와 SSS 시퀀스를 결합하여 동시에 검출하는 결합 검출(joint detection) 방법을 사용한다. 또한, 추정한 채널 이득을 이용하여 주어진 PSS 및 SSS의 전체 시퀀스 길이의 상관(correlation) 값을 계산하는 coherent 방법과 시퀀스의 전체 길이를 여러 개의 그룹으로 나누어 각 그룹 내에서는 coherent 상관을 계산하고, 이들을 결합하여 전체 그룹의 상관 값을 계산하는 non-coherent combining 방법을 제시한다. 본 논문에서 고려한 검출 방법들에 대해 전산 실험을 통하여 PSS 및 SSS의 개별 검출 에러율과 전체 cell ID 검출 에러율 성능을 비교한다. 전산 실험 결과는 가산 백색 가우시안 잡음환경과 고정 및 이동 환경에서 non-coherent combining 방법이 coherent 방법에 비해 우수한 검출 성능을 보이며, 결합 검출 방법은 2단계 검출 방법에 비해 우수한 성능을 보이나 계산 복잡도 측면에서는 2단계 검출 방법이 보다 낮은 복잡도를 갖는다는 것을 보여준다.

  • 신규 발전소 부지 및 송전선 경과지 확보의 어려움 때문에 신규 발전기들은 기존의 발전단지에 건설되고 송전망은 더 복잡한 망의 형태로 구성되고 있다. 이러한 구조적인 특징은 전력계통의 운용의 신뢰성에 제약을 발생시킨다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해서 전력계통의 해석의 고도화와 적절한 대책이 요구된다. 또한 현재 진행중인 전력산업의 구조 개편 이후, 신뢰성과 경제성을 동시에 추구하여야하는 경쟁적 전력시장에서의 계통해석 결과에 따른 비용 발생시에 책임소재의 투명성과 해석결과에 대한 검증이 필요하게 되어 계통해석 기술의 고도_화와 이를 구현하기 위한 해석 프로그램의 다변화가 절실하게 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 대규모 전력계통 해석 프로그램인 EUROSTAG의 발전기 제어계 계통 의 모델을 개발하였고, 성능을 입증하기 위해서 현재 전력회사에서 사용되는 PSS/E와 시뮬레이션 결과를 비교하였다.

Glass Transition Behavior of Dendritic Polymers Containing Mobile Aliphatic Polyether Cores and Glassy Peripheral Polystyrenes

  • We investigated the glass transition temperatures ($T_g$) of dendrons consisting of conformationally mobile aliphatic polyether dendritic cores plus glassy peripheral polystyrenes (PSs), and linear PSs in the molecular weight range of 1000-8500 g/mol. We compared their $T_g$ behavior depending on their polymeric architecture. The linear PSs show a typical growth of $T_g$ up to 92.5 ${^{\circ}C}$ as the molecular weight increases to 8300 g/mol, while the dendrons display nearly constant $T_g$ values of 58-61 ${^{\circ}C}$, despite the increase of molecular weight with each generation. The striking contrast of Tg behavior would be mainly attributed to the fact that the dendrons keep the ratio of $N_e$/M ($N_e$: number of peripheral chain ends, M: molecular weight) over all the generations. Additionally, for the influence of dendritic spacers on glass transition temperature we prepared dimeric PSs with different linkage groups such as aliphatic ether, ester and amide bonds. We found that the dimer with the ether spacer exhibited the lowest glass transition at 55.4 ${^{\circ}C}$, while the amide linked dimer showed the highest glass transition temperature at 74.2 ${^{\circ}C}$. This indicates that the peripheral PS chains are effectively decoupled by the conformationally flexible ether spacer. The results from this study demonstrated that polymeric architecture and dendritic core structures play a crucial role in the determination of glass transition behavior, providing a strategy for the systematic engineering of polymer chain mobility.
