마이크로핀관 증발기내 전열 성능에 미치는 냉동기유의 영향 (Effect of refrigeration lubricants on the heat transfer performance in the microfin tube evaporator)

  • The present study experimentally investigated the effect of refrigeration lubricant on the heat transfer performance in the straight sections and U-bend of a microfin tube evaporator by using R-22/mineral oil and R-407C/POE oil. The apparatus consisted of test section with U-bend, preheater, condenser, oil injection and sampling devices, magnetic pump, mass flow meter etc. The experimental parameters were oil concentration of 0 to 5 wt%, inlet quality of 0.1 to 0.5, mass flux of 219 and $400kg/m^2s$ and heat flux of 10 and $20kW/m^2$. The effects of parameters on the heat transfer coefficients were large in the order of inlet quality, mass flux and heat flux as oil concentration got increased. As oil concentration was increased, heat transfer coefficients were continuously decreased for R-22 and increased by 3% up to the concentration of 1% and then decreased for R-407C under the condition of large inlet quality, and small mass flux and heat flux. But, the heat transfer coefficients were increased up to the concentration of 3% and then decreased for both R-22 and R-407C refrigerants under the opposite conditions. The variation of enhancement factors for R-407C was under 50% of that for R-22 and the variation with respect to the positions in the test section was small. The pressure drops were increased for both R-22 and R-407C refrigerants as oil concentration was increased. The pressure drops for R-407C were smaller by the maximum of 18% than those for R-22.

Emulsion Properties of Pseudo-Ceramide PC104/Water/Polyoxyethylene Cholesteryl Ether and Polyoxyethylene Cetyl Ether Mixtures.

  • The formation of emulsions and micelles in water/ceramide PC104/CholE $O_{20}$/C$_{16}$E $O_{20}$ and water/ceramide PC104/CholE $O_{20}$ mixtures was investigated through the phase behavior studies. The phase diagrams showed the existence of micelle and emulsion regions in both systems. The mixed surfactant system (CholE $O_{20}$/C$_{16}$E $O_{20}$) showed the wider micellar and emulsion regions than the single surfactant system (CholE $O_{20}$). From FT-IR measurements, it was found that the polyoxyethylene (POE) groups of surfactants formed the hydrogen bonds with amido carbonyl group in ceramide PC104. This result indicated that the hydrophilic part (EO) of surfactants could stabilize the lamellar structure and emulsion of ceramide PC104. The mixed surfactant system (CholE $O_{20}$/C$_{16}$E $O_{20}$) resulted in the smaller emulsion droplet size due to the effect of curvature at the interface, thus further increasing emulsion stability. With the penetration of $C_{16}$E $O_{20}$into the interfacial layer of surfactants in emulsion, the curvature of the interface might be altered for the formation of smaller emulsion droplets. The mixed surfactant system could incorporate up to 4 wt. % of ceramide PC104 into emulsion more than single surfactant system.ystem.m.

바닥공조 시스템이 적용된 사무공간의 거주후 성능평가 (Post Occupancy Evaluation for Office Building with An Underfloor Air Distribution System)

  • In this study, an underfloor air distribution(UFAD) system installed on the S. office building was evaluated for its indoor environmental quality performance. Field measurement and survey were conducted for the overall POE(Post Occupied Evaluation). PMV(including temperature, humidity, air velocity and globe temperature) and several environmental components were measured while thermal comfort, thermal sensation, acoustical environment and others. were investigated through survey. Except for the direct upper part of the air supply diffuser on the floor, the indoor velocity was less than 0.25m/s, which has been suggested by ASHRAES tandard 55 as the limit for thermal comfort. MRT of the perimeter zone of the room showed a higher value than that in the interior because of the introduced solar radiation through the building envelope. PMV was generally maintained in the range of thermal comfort (from -0.5 to +0.5), though it weighted to the warm side. It was reported to have 61% positive response on thermal comfort and 55% on neutral thermal sensation. The results of each survey item showed some gender-based differences. Specifically, female respondents had higher degree of dissatisfaction with indoor air cleanness and acoustical privacy. The working surface showed more than 400 lux and the equivalent noise level showed less than 50 dB(A). In conclusion, the results of the measurement and survey showed good agreement. Indoor environmental quality of the subject office room where the UFAD system was installed showed an overall excellent performance.

O/W형 microemulsion의 생성영역과 입자크기 및 안정성에 관한 연구 (A study on the formation region, droplet size and stability of O/W microemulsion)

  • 본 연구에서는 ME의 각 성분의 구조가 그들의 생성영역, 입자의 크기 및 안정성에 미치는 영향을 고찰하고자 surfactant로서 POE sorbitan fatty acid 계를 사용하였고, oil로는 포화탄화수소계인 liquid paraffin, squalane, 방향족계열인 alkyl benzoate, Isostearyl benzoate를 그리고 cosurfactant로는 glycerine, propylene glycol, sorbitol, 1, 3-butanediol을 사용하여 4성분계 ME을 제조하고, 이 계에서 cosurfactant의 구조적 특성이 ME 생성영역에 미치는 영향과 그리고 oil과 surfactant의 구조 특성이 제조된 ME 입자크기 및 안정성에 미치는 영향을 고찰한 결과, cosurfactant로 polyol류를 사용했을 때, polyol 분자 중 탄소가 같은 경우 OH수가 많을 때, OH기 수가 같을 경우 탄소수가 적을 때 ME생성영역이 크게 나타남을 알 수 있었으며 제조된 ME의 입자 크기를 비교했을 때 oil의 극성이 클수록, surfactant 소수부분의 alkyl chain의 탄소수가 클수록 입자크기가 작게 나타났다. 또한 분산상으로 사용된 oil 중 alkyl benzoate나 Isostearyl benzoatbenzoate 에 비해서 포화탄수소계인 liquid paraffin, squalane으로 구성된 ME의 경시 안정성이 더 양호하였다.

액화석유가스를 이용한 파우더 함유 화장품의 분사안정성에 관한 연구 (Study on the sprayability of the skincare product with powders using LPG as propellant)

  • 고압가스나 액화석유가스를 분사제로 사용하는 화장품에서는 원액의 안정성 및 용기의 안정성 뿐만 아니라 원액이 완전히 소진될 때까지 분사가 이루어져야 하며 특히 내용물에 파우더나 고분자 물질이 함유되어있을 경우 노즐이 막히게 될 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 액화석유가스를 분사제로 활용하는 화장품에 파우더가 함유되어있을 경우 분사안정성에 관해 제형 설계를 이용하여 노즐의 막힘 현상을 없애는 연구를 수행하였으며 또한 완전분사가 가능한지 여부를 실제 실험으로 확인하였다. 노즐의 막힘 현상을 없애기 위해서는 원액과 액화석유가스가 적어도 분사하는 시간동안은 균일하게 섞여있는 상태인 유화상태로 존재하여야 함을 알 수 있었으며 이러한 상태는 폴리올의 양 및 계면활성제의 양 등에 의해 결정되었다. 사용감 및 자극 등의 화장품적 특성을 고려할 때 계면활성제의 양을 조절함으로써 효과적으로 원액과 액화석유가스의 균일한 유화상태를 얻을 수 있었으며 이때 파우더가 가장 균일하게 분산되며 따라서 노즐의 막힘 현상이 최소화됨을 알 수 있었다.

  • Purpose: Korean society has already entered an aged society but there aren't many evidence-based studies on the elderly-friendly design elements in the apartment environment, which is the main residential type in Korea. The main purpose of this study is to verify the necessity and expandability of the outdoor environment design in the public rental apartment complex through the evaluation of the effectiveness and satisfaction of SMG(Seoul Metropolitan Government) Cognitive Health Design Project in GR 1 apartment complex. Methods: The research subjects were GR 1-complex as experimental group and the nearby Wolgye Deer 1-complex as control group, both public rental apartment and located in Seoul. As a research method, the survey was conducted before and after the implementation of SMG project for residents of the apartment. A total of 200 preliminary surveys and 203 post surveys were conducted. Results: As a result of this study, residents' accidents related safety have decreased, and both the frequency of use and satisfaction of most facilities have increased. It is noteworthy that the increase in cognitive items in the post-survey. Also, 74.5% of the residents evaluated that the complex was better to live after the project was implement. Implications: The fact that the preliminary surveys were not conducted for the same person is considered as the limitation of the study, but it is meaningful in that it systematically assesses the effectiveness of the project on the cognitive health of the outdoor residential environment towards age-friendly city.

차량용 에어컨에 사용되는 냉매 및 냉동기유의 기술 동향 (Development Trends of Refrigerant and Refrigerant Oil for Automotive Air-conditioner)

  • This study investigates alternative refrigerants and refrigerant oils as well as the tendency of protecting the global environment in view of automobile air-conditioning systems. Since decades, the R12 refrigerant is not used in automobile air-conditioners because of the ozone depletion potential (ODP) problem, and for the last 20 years, the ODP-free R134a refrigerant is leading the new automotive air-conditioning market. However, owing to its high global warming potential (GWP), the R134a refrigerant use in automobile air-conditioning system is also prohibited by law, and alternative refrigerants with a low GWP need to be proposed. Therefore, recently, the application of R1234yf, R152a, or other alternative refrigerants has started worldwide. By contrast, natural refrigerant R744 was introduced in the market several years ago by VDA (Verband Der Automobilindustrie), which is a German association in the automotive industry. This study also deals with refrigerant oils. For a long time, polyalkylene glycol (PAG) oil has been traditionally used with automobile air-conditioners, and polyolester (POE) oil is suitable for HEV, PHEV, and EV air-conditioning systems, where it is used by the electrically driven compressor owing to its excellent electrical insulation properties. Finally, PAG is an excellent lubricant for all the R134a, R152a, R1234yf, and R744 refrigerants, and has the advantage that it can be applied rapidly to alternative refrigerant air-conditioning systems.

Backsheet 반사율에 따른 Shingled Mini Module 출력변화에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Output Power of Shingled Mini Module Depending on Reflectance of Backsheets)

  • It is very important to optimize the reflectance of incident light in solar modules for improving output power and reducing loss of cell-to-module (CTM). It is assumed that a higher reflectance backsheet may improve optical efficiency. However how much output power is related to optical properties by reflectance property of backsheets have not been revealed clearly yet. A total of 3 types of industrial backsheets with 3 type of industrial encapsulants (EVA or POE) were analyzed as fabricated mini modules used shingled cells. According to the type of backsheets, the difference between the highest and lowest average reflectance in the range of 400 nm to 1200 nm was found to be 13.08% by UV-visible spectroscopy. Also, when using the same encapsulant, the maximum gap value of the output power increase was measured by about 3.755 mW% (166.02 mW). The correlation between reflectance and output power was experimentally found by measuring the output property of the fabricated shingled mini modules.

  • Global warming is accelerating due to the use of fossil fuels that have been used continuously for centuries. Now, humankind recognizes its seriousness, and is conducting research on searching for eco-friendly and sustainable energy. In the field of solar energy, which is a kind of eco-friendly and sustainable, many studies are being conducted to enhance the output performance of the module. In this study, the output improvement for the shingled module structure was studied. In order to improve the output performance of the module, the thickness of the encapsulant was increased, and the lamination process conditions have been improved accordingly. After that, the crosslinking rate was analyzed, and the suitability of the lamination process conditions was judged using this. In addition, a peeling test was conducted to analyze the correlation between the adhesion of the encapsulant and the output performance of the module. Finally, the optimization for the encapsulant material and the lamination process conditions for high-power shingled modules was established, and accordingly, the market share of high-power shingled modules in the solar module market can be expected to rise.

문학과 유전체 내러티브 -리차드 파워스의 생명의 책 (Literature and Genomic Narrative: Richard Powers' The Book of Life)

  • This article explores how Richard Powers' The Gold Bug Variations, an interdisciplinary novel through the new concepts of biocriticism and bioliterature is connected with literature/art and science/technology. Powers uses Edgar Allen Poe's "The Gold Bug" and Johann Sebastian Bach's "The Goldberg Variations" for decoding DNA in order to analogize a genomic metaphor. He imagines literature as "the book of life" genome, written by DNA code due to the complexity and multiplicity of the genome. His novel, as 'genomic narrative,' shows the articulation of the genomic reading, and expression in the life language through the discourses of the information technology and the rhetorical tropes in biology. New biological ideas are continually required to articulate these processes. In the present tendency of the Human Genome Project, such advanced devices as biocybernetics offer the potential to open up new possibilities to researching the complexity of the genome. This can only happen if the following two ideas are followed: One is to comply with advanced technologies for processing the rapidly increasing data of the genome sequence; The other is to admit the necessary paradigm shift in biology. As shown above, the complexity and multiplicity of the genomic reality is not so simple. We must go beyond determinism, even if representation of a biological reality reveals the possibility of expressing its constituent elements by the advanced biotechnology. Consequently, in the unstoppable advances of the art of decoding the genome, The Gold Bug Variations interrelates to the interdisciplinary approaches through the rhetorical tropes that unfold the complex discursive world of the genome. Powers shows that the complex mechanisms of the genome in the microworld of every cell as the plot of "the book of life" can be designed and written using DNA language. At the same time, his genomic reading and writing demonstrate the historical processes of the shifting center of new genomic development and polysemous interpretation.
