Fluoroquinolones are the most common group of antibacterial agents currently used in the Korean aquaculture industry, and use of these agents has been increasing steadily. High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with fluorescence detection was used for the simultaneous determination of five fluoroquinolones in fish and shellfish: ofloxacin (OFL), pefloxacin (PEF), norfloxacin (NOR), ciprofloxacin (CIP), and enrofloxacin (ENRO). Fish and shellfish muscle was homogenized, and protein, lipid, and low molecular weight pigments were then excluded from the homogenate. The final eluates were analyzed by HPLC equipped with a Shiseido UG-120 type C18 reverse-phase column ($4.6{\times}250 mm$, $5{\mu}m$) and a fluorescence detector (excitation at 280 nm, emission at 450 nm). The mobile phase was 0.1 M phosphoric acid and acetonitrile solution (91:9, v/v) and tetrahydrofuran (THF) was added to it at a rate of 5 mL per a liter of the mobile phase. Adequate chromatography separation was obtained using the above method. Average recoveries of fortified samples at levels from 0.05 to 0.5 mg/kg were $72.3{\pm}2.5-84.5{\pm}1.2%$ for OFL, $82.7{\pm}3.3- 109.3{\pm}7.5%$ for NOR, $85.3{\pm}6.6-116.0{\pm}7.9%$ for PEF, $76.0{\pm}4.3-109.3{\pm}12.4%$ for CIP, and $78.7{\pm}5.9-100.0{\pm}9.8%$ for ENRO. The limit of detection of OFL was $5{\mu}g/L$, the others were $1{\mu}g/L$. We concluded that the new analytical method was suitable for the determination of fluoroquinolones in fish and shellfish.
In the present studies, we have intended to compare the EDS (20% EG + 20% DMSO + 0.4 M sucrose + 10% FCS) and EDT (20% EG + 20% DMSO + 0.3 M trehalose 10% FCS) methods for vitrification of canine oocytes, in order to improve the vitrification methods. The survival rate of vitrified-thawed oocytes using the EDS method was $15.1{\pm}1.8%$ (p<0.05), which was lower than that of the control group $(66.7{\pm}2.5%)$. About $45{\sim}55%$ of the vitrified-warmed oocytes showed normal morphology, as assessed by PI staining. However, the ratio of survival rate of oocytes showed lower than that of normal morphology in comparison between EDS method and control group. The survival and developmental rates of vitrified-warmed oocytes by the EDS and EDT methods were $16.7{\pm}1.4%\;and\;11.1{\pm}0.8%$ and $8.3{\pm}1.4%\;and\;4.4{\pm}1.8%$, respectively (p<0.05). The results were significantly lower than the control group $(66.7{\pm}2.5%\;and\;16.7{\pm}3.7%)$. However, the survival rate of vitrified-warmed oocytes using EDS method showed higher than that in the ETS group.
Although it is rapidly increasing the number of day-care centers in Korea, the quality of food and nutrition services is not improved sufficiently. The purpose of this study was to investigate the nutrition and health status of children in day-care center. Menus for lunch of 253 centers were collected and the content of nutrients was analyzed. Nutrient intakes from lunch and snacks of 90 children were investigated using weighing method and those from breakfast and dinner by 24-hour recall method surrogated from their mothers. Anthropometric indices of height, weight, skinfold thickness, the ratio of fat were measured. The lunch menus for children contained $437.0{\pm}138.9\;Kcal$, $17.6{\pm}6.7gr$ protein, $153.9{\pm}87.7mg\;Ca$, $3.63{\pm}1.6mg\;Fe$, $164.5{\pm}158.2RE\;Vit\;A$. and $4.46{\pm}3.04mg\;Vit\;B_1$. Energy, Ca and Fe supplied were below one third of RDAs. Mean daily calorie intake of children aged 3 years was $1303.0{\pm}474.0Kcal/day$, $1322.3{\pm}442.4Kcal$ in aged four, $1307.0{\pm}545.9Kcal$ in aged five and $1497.1{\pm}93.5kcal$ in six year of age. Intake of iron, vitamin A and vitamin $B_1$ were below RDAs.

In this paper, we suggest a new method for the prediction of sharp changes in particulate matter (PM10) using quantile mapping. To predict the current PM10 density in Seoul, we consider PM10 and precipitation in Baengnyeong and Ganghwa monitoring stations observed a few hours before. For the PM10 distribution estimation, we use the extreme value mixture model, which is a combination of conventional probability distributions and the generalized Pareto distribution. Furthermore, we also consider a quantile generalized additive model (QGAM) for the relationship modeling between precipitation and PM10. To prove the validity of our proposed model, we conducted a simulation study and showed that the proposed method gives lower mean absolute differences. Real data analysis shows that the proposed method could give a more accurate prediction when there are sharp changes in PM10 in Seoul.
The purpose of this study was to compare the specific binding ratio method with model-based methods in estimating the transporter parameter $k_3/k_4$ in normal controls and Parkinson's patients with [I-123]IPT SPECT and to evaluate the usefulness of [I-123]IPT SPECT. $6.5{\pm}1.1$ mCi ($239.0{\pm}40.3$ MBq) of [$^{123}I$]IPT was intravenouly injected as a bolus into six normal controls(age:$45{\pm}13$) and seventeen patients(age:$55{\pm}8$) with Pakinson's disease(PD). The transporter parameter $k_3/k_4$ was derived using the Ichise's graphical method($R_v$) and Lassen's area ratio method($R_A$) for the dynamic IPT SPECT data without blood samples. Then, the relationships between the transporter parameter $R-v,\;R_A$ and the ratio of (BG-OCC)/OCC at 115 minutes were evaluated by linear regression analysis. $R_vs$ by Ichise's graphical method for NC and PD were $2.08{\pm}0.29$ and $0.78{\pm}0.31$, respectively. $R_As$ by Lassen's area ratio method for NC and PD were $1.48{\pm}0.16$ and $0.65{\pm}0.24$, respectively. The correlation coefficients between (BG-OCC)/OCC and $R_v$, (BG-OCC)/OCC and $R_A$, and $R_v$ and $R_A$ were 0.93, 0.90, 0.99 and their corresponding slopes were 0.54, 0.34, and 0.65, respectively. The $R_v$ and $R_A$ of NC were significantly higher than the ones of PD. That is, the $k_3/k_4$ of NC was clearly separated from the one of PD. $k_3/k_4$ showed a good correlation with the ratio of (BG-OCC)/OCC. The results indicate that the noninvasive simplified quantitative methods may be useful to measure the transporter parameter $k_3/k_4$ and the specific binding ratio method can be used for quantitative studies of dopamine transporter with [I-123]IPT SPECT in humans brains.
The simplified cumulant method was applied to diffraction data of $CClF_3$ to study the equilibrium molecular parameters over a range of temperatures. The molecular parameters of $CClF_3$ by the simplified cumulant method were compared with those from the traditional method. Also the instrumentation of picosecond time resolved electron diffraction (TRED) and the experimental details are described. The total experimental temporal resolution was discussed in terms of the electron pulse width. The TRED system was applied to study the molecular structures for $CClF_3$ at room temperature. The molecular structural parameters $CClF_3$ from TRED are compared with those from GED/RT. The molecular parameters ($r_e$)of bonded C-F and C-Cl for $CClF_3$ by simplified CA are 132.00(2) pm and 175.20(3) pm, respectively, by using GED/RT. From the results of TRED experiments $r_a$ for bonded C-F and C-Cl are 132.23(13) pm and 177.23(19) pm.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine satisfaction and dissatisfaction factors with the method of testing practice in Fundamentals of Nursing with the students using checklists. Method: Subjects were 251 students doing three month practice. Checklists by K Publishing were used to assess skill in measuring blood pressure and sterilized. Measure for satisfaction and dissatisfaction factors were developed by researcher through a literature review. Collected data were processed using SAS. Results: 1. Average score for satisfaction was $3.49{\pm}0.68$ for theoretical subjects of basic nursing, $3.44{\pm}0.72$ for practical subjects and $3.29{\pm}0.74$ for practice. Average score for interest was $3.71{\pm}0.73$, 2. Average score for general satisfaction was $3.52{\pm}0.56$, and the satisfaction factor with the highest score was 'It was helpful in improving practical skills after the test'(average $3.78{\pm}0.78$). Average Score for general dissatisfaction was $3.13{\pm}0.59$, and dissatisfaction factor With the highest score was 'As I did not think deeply, I don't know exactly what mistakes I made'(average $3.41{\pm}0.94$). 3. Students who wanted to study further in the future appeared to be satisfied with practical tests using checklists(F=2.04, p=.038), and students appeared to be dissatisfied with them when they didn't have enough time for practice(F=3.38, p=.010). Conclusion: Students' satisfaction was relatively high, particularly as the tests were seen as helpful in improving practical skills after tests.
Measurement of cardiac blood flow using the magnetic resonance imaging has been limited due to breathing and involuntary movements of the heart. The present study attempted to improve the accuracy of cardiac blood flow testing through phase contrast magnetic resonance imaging by presenting the adequate breathing method and imaging variables by comparing the measurement values of cardiac blood flow. Each was evaluated by comparing the breath hold retrospective 1NEX and non breath hold retrospective 1-3NEX in the ascending aorta and descending aorta. As a result, the average blood flow amount/velocity of the breath hold retrosepctive 1NEX method in the ascending aorta were $96.17{\pm}19.12ml/sec$, $17.04{\pm}4.12cm/sec$ respectively, which demonstrates a statistically significant difference(p<0.05) with the non-breath hold retrospective method 1NEX of $72.31{\pm}13.27ml$ and $12.32{\pm}3.85$. On the other hand, the average 2NEX blood flow and mean flow velocity is $101.90{\pm}24.09$, $16.84{\pm}4.32$, 3NEX $103.06{\pm}25.49$, $16.88{\pm}4.19$ did not show statistically significant differences(p>0.05).The average blood flow amount/ velocity of the breath hold retrospective 1NEX method in the descending aorta were $76.68{\pm}19.72ml/s$, and $22.23{\pm}4.8$, which did not demonstrate a significant difference in comparison to non-breath hold retrospective method 1-3 NEX. Therefore, the non breath hold retrospective method does not significantly differ in terms of cardiac blood flow in comparison with the breath hold retrospective method in accordance with the increase of NEX, so pediatric patients or patients who are not able to breathe well must have the diagnostic value of their cardiac blood flow tests improved.
High temperature sterilization method (30min. at $40^{\circ}C$longrightarrow30 min. at $70^{\circ}C$longrightarrow30 min. cooling at $20^{\circ}C$) was evaluated better than that of chloride, ion water, $O_3$ water, and salt water for the controling of micro-organisms at the early stage of sprout culture. Due to the improved germination rate and effective control of micro-organisms at early stage, the method resulted in much lower in the number of micro-organisms, higher in sprout yield, and 2 days longer in quality keeping at market than sprouts prepared by conventional method. There are two methods related with water temperature; constant temperature method (18.5$\pm$$0.5^{\circ}C$) which keeps the same water temperature during the culture and 3-stage temperature method which changes the water temperature depending on the days after culture. Three-stage temperature method set the temperature at 21$\pm$$1^{\circ}C$) in the second and third days after the initial acceleration of germination (about 4 hours), at 18.5$\pm$0.5$^{\circ}C$ in the fourth and fifth days, and at 17.0$\pm$$0.5^{\circ}C$) in the sixth and seventh days. Three-stage temperature method could enhance the resistance power to diseases at the early growth stage, control the growth to standard goods (8-9cm in length and 2.15-2.30mm in width), and keep good body color at the middle or final stage. This method also increased the sprout yield by 6% compared with the conventional method, constant temperature method.
In order to analyze trace metals by Atomic absorption spectrophotometer in infant formula milk powder, Wet digestion method using nitric acid, perchloric acid mainly and D.D.T.C.-M.I.B.K. extraction method were done. The r-value of calibration curve were more than 0.999 in Cu, Mn, Zn. Recovery test showed high recovery rate of $97-104\%$. The results were as follows: Averages of total samples were Cu $1.92\pm1.24 ppm,\;Mn\;1.18\pm1.01ppm,\;Zn\;22.43\pm8.88ppm.$ Averages of Common Infant formula were Cu1.96\pm1.26ppm,\;Mn\;1.0\pm0.57ppm,\;Zn\;21.52\pm9.72ppm.$ Averages of follow-up infant formula were Cu$1.89\pm1.26ppm,\;Mn\;1.36\pm1.31ppm,\;Zn\;23.34\pm8.7 ppm$.
