  • This paper suggests methods to drive motor and dsPIC30F2010 microprocessor software design for the Wheel Hub Motor that is incorporated into a hub of the wheel and drives it directly. The minimum function of dsPIC30F2010, system clock, PWM, I/O, communication, applicable to hub motor control are explained and tested. The algorithm including PI control method was implemented to the system by using dsPIC30F2010 microprocessor functions.

  • In order to utilize renewal energy such as solar power and wind power, high performance battery charge-discharge controller is essentially needed. In this paper, a PIC microprocessor-based battery charge-discharge controller for solar power system is designed and implemented. The PIC16C711 microprocessor and CCS-C compiler are used to realize stable and accurate operation of the battery controller. The proposed controller is designed to utilize the charged battery power during daytime to provide convenience to user. Current control function is included in proposed controller to cope with various type of new material energy system coming in the near future.

  • The present paper designed a weight measuring instrumentation system in which data conversion and a series of signal processing were totally equipped. 16 loadcell are incoming sensors and each output of the loadcell was amplified and filtered for proper analog signal processing. Several measuring instrumentation OP amps and general purposed OP amps were used. 12 bits AID converters converted analog signals to digital bits and a PIC microprocessor controlled the 16 channels of loadcell. RF RS232 modules were used for wireless communication between the PIC microprocessor and an ethernet host for a remote sensor monitoring system development.

  • This paper presents the development or a keypad test system for the improvement or the working environment and productivity improvement using the microprocessor PIC16F877 Chip. In order to detect the fault of keypad products, the design of hardware and software is performed in this system. All controls of the system is implemented by the 8 bit one chip micro-controller PIC. This keypad test system can also recognizes the work process, the work result and the fault position of the keypad which is made by the method of a flexible printed circuit (FPC) and construct the database about test results using personal computer. The experimental results show the effective performance of the keypad test system.

  • This paper presents the development of a keypad test system for the improvement of working environment and productivity using PTC 16F877 microprocessor. In order to detect the fault of keypad products, hardware and software design is performed in this system. Keypad fault detection system is controlled by the 8 bit one chip PIC microcontroller for the exactness and speed. Developed panel of the keypad test system is comprised of the sub-panel for selecting in the inspected keypad types and the main panel f3r displaying the working order and fault position. Furthermore, all data from keypad inspection are stored in main memory of personal computer for the database. All these functions lead to the improvement of working speed and environment.

  • In this paper, implementation of obstacle avoidance of a nonholonomic mobile robot in unstructured environment is introduced. To avoid obstacles, first, a reference collision-free path for the MR is generated off-line using HJB-based optimal path planning method. A controller is designed using integrator backstepping method for tracking the generated reference path. To implement the designed controller, a control system are needed and composed of camera system and PIC-based controller. The workspace is observed by a ceiling-mounted USB camera as part of an un-calibrated camera system. Thus the positional information of the MR is updated frequently and the MR can get the useful inputs for its tracking controller. The whole control system is realized by integrating a computer with PIC-based microprocessor using wireless communication: the image processing control module and path planning module serve as high level computer control while the device control serves as low level PIC microprocessor control. The simulation and experimental results show the effectiveness of the designed control system.

  • Gear train in the automobile to be used for controlling gas flow in automobiles consists of spur gears with involute tooth type in multiple stages. This spur gear is designed considering to the high power transfer efficiency, bending stress and contact stress in the static and dynamic analysis. The torque has been increased simultaneously the angular velocity has been decreased through the stages after being supplied by AC synchronous motor. This apparatus is controlled by electrical devices such as the PIC microprocessor, hall sensor and other electric components. By comparing the preset data of PIC microcomputer which is supplied by external DC electric power with the value set of hall sensor which detects the rotation angle position, PIC microcomputer thus controls AC motor and gear train according to the program algorithm which includes the on-off control and PWM motor driving method. As the result of the experiment such as performance, fatigue, torque test, we can conclude that this system is superior to the same and familiar foreign systems.

  • Throughout manufacturing processes, pulse shaping is required for material processing and it is regarded as an important (actor according to the specific characteristics of materials. Therefore, this study suggests a highly appropriate pulse shaping technique using a multi-switching method. This is a pulse superposition method in which one flash lamp can consecutively turn on by the double switching of the discharging system. It is possible to construct a variety of pulse shapes and pulse widths by the consecutive trigger of the silicon-controlled rectifiers (SCR) of a PIC (program integrated circuit) one-chip microprocessor. The use of this technique can provide a number of advantages to people who require suitable pulse shaping for particular applications such as welding, cutting, and drilling.
