Polymer concrete shows excellent mechanical properties and chemical resistance compared with conventional normal cement concrete. The polymer concrete Is drawing a strong interest as high-performance materials in the construction industry Resins using recycled PET offer the possibility of a lower source cost of materials for making useful polymer concrete products. Also the recycling of PET in polymer concrete would help solve some of the solid waste problems Posed by plastics and save energy. An objective of this paper is to estimate the damage of sulfuric acid, through investigating recycled PET polymer concrete, immersed at sulfuric acid solution for 84 days. As a result of testing, recycled PET PC, used $CaCO_3$ as filler, makes a problem of appearance and strength if they are exposed for long term at corrosion environment. On the other hand, recycled PET PC, used fly-ash as filler, had less effect on decrease in weight and strength. Recycled PET PC is excellent chemical resistance, resulting in the role of unsaturated polyester resin which consists of polymer chain structure accomplishes bond of aggregates and filler strongly. Also, recycled PET PC, used fly-ash as filler, is stronger resistance of sulfuric acid corrosion than $CaCO_3$, because it is composed of $SiO_2$ and very strong glassy crystal structure. Therefore, recycled PET PC, used fly-ash as filler, is available under corrosion circumstances like sewer pipe or waste disposal plant.

The polymer concrete is drawing a strong interest as high-performance materials in the construction industry. Resins using recycled PET offer the possibility of a lower source cost of materials for making useful polymer concrete products. Also the recycling of PET in polymer concrete would help solve some of the solid waste problems posed by plastics and save energy. Polymer concrete beams using unsaturated polyester resins based on recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic waste were used in our study for grasping its structural behavior of static and fatigue. As a result of static test, Compression stress distribution of Polymer concrete indicates linear behavior such as triangles. Although polymer concrete is high strength materials, its ductility capacity is excellent. From the fatigue test results, There was almost no difference on flexural characteristics between before and after fatigue loading. Therefore, recycled PET polymer concrete remains excellent structural ability after fatigue loading.
Polymer concrete shows excellent mechanical properties and chemical resistance compared with conventional normal cement concrete. The purposed of this paper is to propose the model for the stress-strain relation of recycled-PET polymer concrete at monotonic uniaxial compression and is to investigate for the stress-strain behavior characteristics of recycled-PET polymer concrete with different variables(strength, resin contents, curing conditions, addition of silane and ages). The maximum stress and strain of recycled-PET polymer concrete was found to increase with an increase in resin content, however, it decreased beyond a particular level of resin content. A ascending and descending branch of stress-strain curve represented more sharply at high temperature curing more than normal temperature curing. Addition of silane increases compressive strength and postpeak ductility. In addition, results show that the proposed model accurately predicts the stress-strain relation of recycled-PET polymer concrete

This study evaluated a mechanical performance of recycled polyethylene terephthalate(PET) fiber reinforced concrete on chemical environment. This study applied to three types of environmental condition including alkaline, salt, $CaCl_2$ in water solution and measured a reduction of mechanical performance of recycled PET fiber reinforced concrete for 30, 60, 90 days under chemical solutions. The mechanical performance of recycled PET fiber reinforced concrete evaluated to carried out a compressive strength test. As the result of test, it was found that the mechanical performance decreased as the exposure time to alkaline environment and indicated a excellence performance under salt, $CaCl_2$ environment conditions.

The extended use of polyester nowadays has increased the amount of waste polyester (PET) released into the environment. Although these materials don't directly harm living things or the ecosystem, their inability to biodegrade remains one of the major global threats, driving up the amount of solid waste made up of PET. Environmental concerns have approved an increasing interest in recycled PET however the production of recycled PET with sufficient mechanical properties is still a challenge. Recycled Polyester (rPET) yarns are inexpensive and have the potential to acquire better mechanical characteristics through physical treatments, particularly by using technically simple method like uniaxial drawing. This study inspected the drawn behavior of virgin PET yarns and rPET yarns under various drawing parameters by first analyzing the initial material characteristics of both yarn. The impact of stretching on mechanical and morphological properties was also investigated. The results showed that virgin PET has better properties than rPET yarn; however, mechanical properties resembling virgin PET are achieved after optimizing the draw ratio.
Currently, since carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRPs) are lightweight and have excellent physical properties, their demand has increased dramatically. Many works have studied the CFRPs based on recycled thermoplastics. In this study, the applicability of recycled composite was evaluated using recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET). PET was collected from waste materials used in beverage bottles and processed to produce PET films. Optimal thermoforming temperature and time were analyzed by comparing the mechanical properties with forming temperature and time difference for producing PET films. CF mat and PET film were used to determine the suitable parameters for the optimum thermoforming of CF/PET composites. The mechanical properties of each thermoforming condition were verified by bending test. The degree of impregnation of the PET film into the CF mat was evaluated by cross-sectional photographs, whereas the interfacial properties were evaluated by interlaminar shear strength (ILSS). Ultimately, it was confirmed that the thermoforming condition for forming the CF/recycled PET composites yielding the optimal mechanical and interfacial properties was at $270^{\circ}C$ for 5 minutes.

There have been numerous studies to develop eco-friendly concrete. The attempt to reduce the amount of cement used is suggested as one of the solutions for eco-friendly concrete. To decrease the usage of cement, the pozzolan reaction materials are used as a mineral admixture. Hwang-toh, which is broadly deposited in Korea is a well known environment friendly material and the activated hwang-toh, which has the property of pozzolan reaction, is alternatively used as a mineral admixture of concrete. The purpose of this study is to investigate the drying shrinkage of hwang-toh concrete mixed with recycled PET fiber. Therefore, drying shrinkage experiments are performed to analyze mechanical property of hwang-toh concrete mixed with recycled PET fiber. Test results showed that the drying shrinkage is controlled by hwang-toh admixture and PET fiber.
In this paper the behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) beam-column connections under cyclic loading was analyzed. The specimens, manufactured in a reduced-scale were made of (a) recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) by replacing 30% of natural coarse aggregate (NCA) with recycled coarse aggregate (RCA) and (b) RAC incorporating Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) fiber i.e., PET fiber-reinforced concrete (PFRC) at the joint region. PET fiber (aspect ratio=25) of 0.5% by weight of concrete used in the PFRC mix was obtained by hand cutting of post-consumer PET bottles. A reference specimen was also prepared using 100% of NCA and subjected to similar loading sequence. Comparing the results the structural behavior under cyclic loading of RAC specimens are quite similar to the reference specimens. Damage tolerance, load resisting capacity, stiffness degradation, ductility, and energy dissipation of the RAC specimens enhanced due to addition of PET fibers at the joint region. PFRC specimens also presented a lower damage indices and higher principal tensile stresses as compared to the RAC specimens. The results obtained gave experimental evidence on the feasibility of RAC for structural use. Using PET fibers as a discrete reinforcement is recommended for improving the seismic performance of RAC specimens.

There have been numerous studies to develop eco-friendly concrete. The attempt to reduce the amount of cement usage is suggested as one of the solutions for eco-friendly concrete. To reduce the amount of cement usage, the pozzolan-reaction materials such as ground granulated blast furnace slag, fly ash, and meta kaolin are widely used as the mineral admixture. Hwangtoh which deposited broadly in Korea is a well known eco-friendly material and the activated Hwangtoh with pozzolan-reaction can be practically used as a mineral admixture of concrete. Meanwhile, PET fiber made of recycled PET bottle is a type of recycled material, which can be used to control micro cracks in concrete. But the study about concrete mixed with recycled PET fiber is insufficient and the research of Hwangtoh concrete mixed with PET fiber is urgently needed presently. In this study, experiment and analysis flexural behavior of Hwangtoh concrete blended with recycled PET fiber are carried out. The results are discussed in detail.

Recently fiber-reinforced thermoplastic composites have attracted great interest from industry and study because they offer unique properties such as high strength, modulus, impact resistance, corrosion resistance, and damping reduction which are difficult to obtain in single-component materials. The demand for plastics is steadily increasing not only in household goods, packaging materials, but also in high-performance engineering plastic and recycling. As a result, the technology of recycling plastic is also attracting attention. In particular, many paper have studied recycling systems based on recycled thermoplastics. In this paper, properties of Glass Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastic(GFRTP) materials were evaluated using recycled PET for injection molding bicycle frame. The effect on thermal and mechanical properties of recycled PET reinforced glass chop fiber according to fiber cross section and fiber content ratio were studied. And it was compared void volume and torque energy by glass fiber cross section, which is round section and flat section. Mechanical characteristics of resulting in GF/rPET has been increased by increasing fiber contents, than above a certain level did not longer increased. And mechanical properties of flat glass fiber reinforced rPET with low void volume were most excellent.
