Factors Influencing User Satisfaction with University Library Websites in Myanmar

  • This study aims to develop a comprehensive technological framework anchored in a theoretical model to assess user satisfaction with university library websites (ULWs) in Myanmar. Adopting a quantitative approach, data were obtained via convenience sampling and subsequent inferential analysis. The target population for this study investigated users of various ULWs in Myanmar who were utilizing six university libraries. Of the collected responses, 273 valid surveys were analyzed using SPSS (version 25) and AMOS. Tools such as structural equation modeling and confirmatory factor analysis played pivotal roles in data interpretation and hypothesis validation. The proposed model highlights the significance of information quality, system quality, and librarian services in influencing both perceived usefulness (PU) and perceived ease of use (PEOU), culminating in user satisfaction. Notably, information quality and librarian services primarily impact PU, while system quality is more influential on PEOU. Interestingly, while PU has a direct bearing on user satisfaction, PEOU does not. Moreover, demographic elements such as age, gender, and education level introduce considerable differences in the utilization of ULW services. Drawing from the study's findings, recommendations are made for ULW managers in Myanmar to bolster services, aligning with user preferences. The resulting framework offers tangible benefits to Myanmar's educational sector, including academia, government entities, librarians, and policy framers. This pioneering research delves into the realm of ULWs in Myanmar's higher education sector. Practically, the research underscores the necessity for stakeholders, encompassing Myanmar's library experts and governing bodies, to elevate the standard of ULWs. Theoretically, a salient takeaway is the direct linkage between heightened usefulness and increased user satisfaction.

공공기관의 지식관리시스템 수용모형에 관한 실증적 연구 (An Empirical Study on the Acceptance of Knowledge Management Systems in Public Institutions : Using Technology Acceptance Model)

  • Information systems that are not used cannot be useful. In order to increase user acceptance, it is necessary to understand why people accept or reject information systems. Technology Acceptance Model(TAM) is one of the most influential research models for studying determinants how users accept information systems. Recently, Knowledge Management Systems(KMS) have become important components of corporate systems as the foundation of industrialized economics has shifted from natural resources to knowledge assets. This paper applies TAM to investigate users' acceptance of KMS in public administration institutions. It sampled 182 users who had experience in using KMS. Many empirical researches have suggested that TAM can be integrated with other organizational theories to improve its predictive and explanatory ower. We extended the basic TAM by the integration of appraisal and reward satisfaction theory. There are many external variables that influence the perception and the belief of system users. We introduced two external variables(job characteristics, IT self-efficacy) and one additional perception variable, perceived appraisal and reward(PAR) in the basic TAM model. The LISREL model analysis is used for finding out the causality among variables and testing the model fitness. As result, The IT self-efficacy influences to the perceived ease of use(PEOU) and the PAR, and the PEOU influences directly to the perceived usefulness(PU), the PAR, and the attitude toward KMS. The KMS participation intention(PI) was influenced by the PAR and the attitude directly,andbythePEOUindirectly. Finally, this paper suggests some guidelines for the adoption of KMS in public sectors on the basis of the study results.

웹기반 협동학습시스템의 활용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Web Based Collaborative Learning Systems)

  • 본 연구는 학생들이 온라인 환경에서 정보시스템을 활용하여 효율적인 협동학습을 수행하는 방법을 이해하고자 한다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 분해된 계획 행동 이론(Decomposed TPB)을 기반으로 하여, 학생들의 웹기반 협동학습시스템의 사용의도에 영향을 미치는 5개의 중요한 요인을 도출하였다: 명시적 사회적 영향, 암시적 사회적 영향, 지각된 유용성, 지각된 용이성, 지각된 흥미성. 본 연구모형은 2개 대학의 대학생 254명을 대상으로 TOEIC콘텐츠를 공부하는 온/오프라인의 가상적인 스터다그룹을 구성하여 협동학습을 수행하도록 하고, 이에 대한 자료를 세 차례의 설문을 통하여 수집하여 분석하였다. 연구결과는 다차원으로 분해된 변수들 중 태도적 믿음 변수인 지각된 용이성을 제외하고 분해된 모든 변수가 사용의도에 긍정적 강한 영향을 미치고 있음을 알 수 있었고, 특히, 웹기반 협동학습지원시스템의 다양한 기능(협동학습을 통한 화상토론, 게시판활동, 오프라인 정기 모임, 동영상 동시 시청)을 통하여 팀장과 팀원들의 상호작용과 함께 사용의도에도 직접적 영향을 줄 수 있기 때문에 명시적 사회적 영향, 암시적 사회적 영향 변수는 준거집단을 통해서 웹기반 협동학습 시스템에 대한 행동의도나 인지에 영향을 줄 수 있는 중요 변수로 나타났다.

우리나라 소비자의 핀테크 수용 모형의 탐색: 기술수용모형의 분해계획행동이론을 중심으로 (Understanding Acceptance of Fintech Service in Korea: Focused on Decomposed TPB into TAM)

  • 이 연구는 최근 우리나라에 도입되고 있는 새로운 금융서비스인 핀테크의 확산을 설명하고 예측하기 위한 연구모형을 탐색하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 인간행동과 새로운 기술수용을 설명하는데 각각 자주 인용되고 있는 이론인 계획행동이론(TPB)과 기술수용모형(TAM)을 검토하여 이를 융합한 분해계획행동이론(DTPB, Decomposed theory of planned behavior)을 연구모형으로 제안하고 PLS 경로모형분석을 통해 검정하였다. 연구결과, TAM 경로 중 하나인 인지한 용이성-태도(PEOU-ATT) 경로를 제외한 모든 경로가 유의하였고, 모형의 설명력은 57.3%로 유의하게 나타났다. 따라서 우리나라의 핀테크 확산을 설명하는데 본 연구가 제안한 DTPB가 적절한 것으로 입증되었다. 마지막으로 후속 연구를 위한 제안을 제시하였다.

개인화된 썸네일 큐레이션 사용성 평가 -넷플릭스 사례를 통한 UX study- (An Empirical Study of Personalized Thumbnail Curation of Netflix)

  • 본 연구는 기술수용모델을 기반으로 넷플릭스 썸네일 큐레이션에 대한 사용자 경험에 대해 실증적으로 접근했다. 상관관계 분석 결과를 살펴보면, 썸네일에 대한 의존도가 높을수록 썸네일 큐레이션에 대한 만족도가 높았고, 썸네일 정보 유용성과 썸네일 이용 용이성은 썸네일 큐레이션 만족도에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 특히 썸네일 이용 용이성의 경우, 세부 변인 가운데 썸네일 적합성에 대한 영향력이 가장 높게 제시되었으며, 이 변인은 썸네일 큐레이션 만족도에 유의미한 영향을 미친다는 사실도 입증되었다. 또한 넷플릭스 썸네일 큐레이션의 만족도는 넷플릭스 전체 만족도와 행동적 이용 의사에 긍정적 영향을 미쳤으며, 본 연구를 통해 넷플릭스 썸네일 큐레이션 사용성 평가도구로써 기술수용모델의 적합성이 입증되었다.

ATCIS-II의 사용이 의무적인 사용자의 인식이 심적 채택과 사용에 미치는 영향 (Effects of the User Perception on Symbolic Adoption and Usage in Mandatory ATCIS-II Use)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to propose useful suggestions by analyzing causal effect relationship between perceived usefulness (PU), perceived ease-of-use (PEOU), symbolic adoption (SA) which have four constructs, and ATCIS-II usage in mandatory context. Methods: Based on prior research, a research model was constructed using the variables of Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), the symbolic adoption theory, and the post-adoptive behavior variables. A structured questionnaire was conducted for those who use ATCIS-II in Republic of Korea Army (ROKA), and a total of 183 usable responses were collected and empirically analyzed using SmartPLS 3.3.9. Results: The results of this study are as follows; PEOU have a significant effect on PU and two constructs of SA (heightened enthusiasm, effort worthiness). PU have a significant effect on every construct of SA (heightened enthusiasm, mental acceptance, effort worthiness, use commitment). In addition, it was found that heightened enthusiasm have a significant effect on both expanded usage and exploratory usage. Also, mental acceptance and use commitment have a significant effect on exploratory usage. Conclusion: The findings of this empirical study have implications for proposing SA can explain mandated user's behavior and giving possible way that improve organization performance which adopt Information System (IS) by motivating end-user to extend IS's feature and explore new ways of using IS at work.

The Effects of Internet Shoppers' Trust on Purchasing Intention in China

  • Recently, owing to the rapid development of Internet and information technology in China, the growth of consumers' purchasing activities in the Internet Shopping Mall has been truly phenomenal. Thus, it is considered essential to understand what affects Chinese consumer's intention to purchase in the Internet Shopping Mall. Based on prior studies, trust is thought as a key factor affecting on Chinese consumers' purchasing intention. Hence, the purpose of the study is to investigate the effects of Chinese consumer's trust on purchasing intention of Internet Shopping Mall. In order to accomplish the purpose of this study, a research model has been established and it suggests that there are significant relationships between trust and purchasing intention, e-commerce knowledge and trust, perceived reputation and trust, perceived risk and trust, perceived ease of use and purchasing intention. The results of the study show that the relationships between these variables are all significant. This research confirms the important effect of Chinese consumer's trust on purchasing intention. Implications of these findings are discussed for researchers and practitioners.

Factors that Influence Mobile Application Usage among undergraduates in USM

  • This study was designed to examine the antecedents of mobile app usage among smart phone users. An extended TAM, which included the additional factors of perceived enjoyment, perceived informative usefulness and perceived social usefulness, was applied to predict people's intention to use mobile apps. Overall, the hypothesized research model did a fairly good job explaining significant associations between the independent variables and the dependent variable. The findings had showed that perceived social usefulness, perceived enjoyment and attitude were significantly affect intention to use mobile apps. Meanwhile, perceived ease of use (PEOU) and perceived informative usefulness were not significantly effects attitude towards intention to use mobile apps. Therefore, mobile apps developers should develop mobile apps that are easier for the users to seek information. For the information available should be more precise and bringing more benefits to the users.

Determinants of the adoption of new equipment at the individual level within an organization

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a new equipment acceptance model in the industrial market and test it empirically using a field survey. To define new equipment acceptance factors of employees in the organization, we used the TAM as a useful model to analyze the acceptance process of new equipment. All of the data for the TAM were collected from the employees. Prior research studied the usage of general information technology using a computer and particular software, while we apply the TAM to the new equipment adoption. In this study, both theoretical review and empirical study were conducted and the model was set through the theoretical study which was tested through the empirical analysis. Management support and training/education were shown to have a positive effect on PU and PEOU. Personal innovativeness, management support, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use were shown to have a positive effect on behavioral intention.

Examining High School Students' BYOD Use under Office of Education-led Policy: Insights from the Technology Acceptance Model

  • Offices of Education in Korea is planning and implementing the BYOD (bring your own device) policy. In particular, the Seoul Metropolitan Education Office promoted the 'Dibud' (digital buddy) policy. Due to the relative newness of the policy, coupled with opposition from the council, it hasn't been fully implemented. This study focuses on a rare example of a high school that experienced BYOD under the Office of Education-led policy in all three grades. This study adapted key variables from the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The regression results showed that both perceived usefulness (PU) and perceived ease of use (PEOU) significantly influenced intention to use Chromebooks and students' perceived learning outcomes. Analysis of the open-ended questionnaires revealed that students perceived positive benefits from using Chromebooks, such as easier data retrieval, improved academic performance, and increased learning productivity. Although the majority of respondents said there were no negative aspects to Chromebooks, negative factors included non-academic use, wireless network inconvenience, and device performance issues. The results of this study can provide data and understanding for future BYOD policies, specifically Chromebooks.
