Development of Error Compensation Algorithm for Image based Measurement System (미세부품 영상 측정시 진동에 의한 오차 보상 알고리즘 개발)

  • In this paper, we studied a vibration problem that is critical and common to most precision measurement systems. For micro mechanical part measurements, results obtained from the vision-based precision measurement system may contain errors due to the vibration. In order to defeat this generic problem, for the current study, a PC based image processing technique was used first, to assess the effect of the vibration to the precision measurement and second, to develop an in-situ calibration algorithm that automatically compensate the measurement results in real time. We used a set of stereoscopic CCD cameras to acquire the images for the dimensional measurement and the reference measurement. The mapping function was obtained through the in-situ calibration to compensate the measurement results and the statistical analysis for the actual results is provided in the paper. Based on the current statistical study, it is expected to obtain high precision results for the micro measurement systems.

Development of Shaft Straightening Machine with Springback Observer (스프링백 관측기를 이용한 축교정기 개발)

  • In order to compensate for out-of-straightness of shafts, an automatic straightening process composed of an automatic measuring module, an automatic control unit and operating softwares was developed with a hydraulic press. The out-of-sraightness of each shaft was measured automatically in the measuring stage. An optimal pressure point was determined to minimize TIR value of the shaft according to press count of 3-points bending process. In the geometric adaptive control procedure, punch stroke and springback of the shaft were predicted by an observer using on-line measured values of press force and deflection amount I each press count. An automatic straightening machine was realized with the measuring module, the GAC module, PLD, IBM-PC and the operating software on the hydraulic press. the validity of the proposed straightening process was confirmed through a series of experiments with cam shafts.

Development and Performance of Automated Calibration System of Sound Level Meters (소음계 교정 자동화 시스템 개발 및 성능평가)

  • An automated calibration system of sound level meters was developed and tested. As a standard sound source, the speaker unit(Forstex FE208) cabineted by 440$\times$390$\times$490 $\textrm{mm}^3$(LHW) volume wood box was adopted. Including this source, the driving part was found out to have a good linearity of sound pressure output vs AC voltage input. The Hybrid-Bisect/Newton-Raphson method modified by the linearity was adopted as a searching algorithm. Uisng GPIB interface, the console PC make the control, measurements, and calculations and finally make the accumulation of useful data and results automatically by the instructon in the program coded by C languate. Several trials of automatic calibration using this developed system give the reliable results.

  • Human face recognition and 3D human face reconstruction has been studied in this paper. To find the facial feature points, find edge from input image and analysis the accumulated histogram of edge information. This paper use a Generic Face Model to display the 3D human face model which was implement with OpenGL and generated with 500 polygons. For reality of 3D human face model, we propose Group matching mapping method between facial feature points and the one of Generic Face Model. The personalized 3D human face model which resembles real human face can be generated automatically in less than 5 seconds on Pentium PC.

  • A PC window-based computer code, CONPAS(CONtainment Performance Analysis System), has been developed to integrate the numerical, graphical and results-operation aspects of Level 2 probabilistic safety assessments (PSA) for nuclear power plants automatically. As a main logic for accident progression analysis, it employs a concept of the small containment phenomenological event tree(CPET) helpful to trace out visually individual accident progressions and of the large supporting event tree(LSET) for its detailed quantification. Compared with other existing computer codes for Level 2 PSA, the CONPAS code provides several advanced features: computational aspects including systematic uncertainty analysis, importance analysis, and sensitivity analysis, reporting aspects including tabling and graphic, and user-friend interface.

  • Recently, the Track Control System which was separated from the Course Control System so-called Auto-Pilot has been developed for track-keeping in coastal area. From this year, the NAV Sub-committee in IMO commenced to consider the Performance Standard for the Track Control System vigorously. This system will be integrated with ECDIS and IBS so that captain/officers should analysis ship's motion characteristics accurately in the route planning using the electronic nautical charts. In this paper, a new Route Analysis Algorithm using fuzzy reasoning in route planning was proposed for 2, 700 TEU container ship. In order to verify the track-keeping, the author established a ship mathematical model and executed the simulation of the Route Analysis Algorithm at on-line condition with Pentium PC. The results of ship trajectories of the Route Analysis Algorithm were found to be effective to get track control automatically.

  • Recent mechatronics technology is the most appropriate high technology in the agricultural application to save repetitious labor. Cow's body parameters were measured by traditional several measurer. Image processing technology was used to measure automatically their parameters to reduce lots of labor and time. The parameters were measured form a small model cow, which is easily measured, instead to a real cow. The image processing system designed and built for this project was composed of a Pentium PC, and TV frame card two cameras which were located on side and top of model cow. 11 parameters of cow's body were measured and the error between real data and the data by image processing was less than 10%. Based on the results of this research the parameters of a real cow could be measured in the future.

  • This paper deals with development of expert process planning system which automatically generates process plan for manufacturing parts of injection mold. The specific domain of study is two-plate injection mold without support plate. Decision making rules for selection of machining processes machine tools, cutting tools and for determination of sequence of machining operations are acquired by interview of skilled process planner. The developed expert process planning system is programmed by using expert system shell CLIPS on the IBM PC/AT. The proposed system works well to real problems.

  • We design the local oscillator system of the 100 GHz band radio receiving system for a cosmic radio observation. We use the YIG oscillator with digital driver which is the main oscillator. This oscillator has a good frequency and phase stability at some temperature variation, and the easy computer aided control characteristics. This total system designed to two subsystem, first is the oscillator system include YIG oscillator, tripler, harmonic mixer and triplexer etc., second is the PLL system to supply the precise and stable local oscillator frequency to mixer. The proposed local oscillator system in this paper can be use a single or multi pixel receiver because this system can be lock the local oscillator frequency automatically using PC.

  • 정보통신용 소프트웨어 개발은 대용량, 고신뢰도, 고복잡도, 이질성 및 분산 환경이라는 특징을 가지고 있다. 이러한 시스템을 개발함에 있어서 개발 품질 및 적정 비용을 유지하기 위해서는 향상된 정형명세 기법과 이러한 기법을 지원하는 도구가 필수적이다. ISO 표준 정형 명세 언어인 LOTOS는 사용자의 요구사항이나 시스템 모형을 추상적이고 정형적으로 작성할수 있도록 한다. 반면, 명세로부터 구현을 직접 도출하기는 쉽지 않다. 본 연구는 LOTOS 명세 언어로 작성된 명세로부터 C++ 코드를 자동 생성하여, 이를 PC 플랫폼상에서 실행하는 동작 모형을 통하여 시스템의 기능적 요구사항의 오류를 초기에 검출할 수 있는 프로토타이핑을 지원하는 LOTOS/C++ 코드 생성기(code generator)를 개발하는 것이다.
