An Effective Feature Generation Method for Distributed Denial of Service Attack Detection using Entropy (엔트로피를 이용한 분산 서비스 거부 공격 탐지에 효과적인 특징 생성 방법 연구)

  • Malicious bot programs, the source of distributed denial of service attack, are widespread and the number of PCs which were infected by malicious bot program are increasing geometrically thesedays. The continuous distributed denial of service attacks are happened constantly through these bot PCs and some financial incident cases have found lately. Therefore researches to response distributed denial of service attack are necessary so we propose an effective feature generation method for distributed denial of service attack detection using entropy. In this paper, we apply our method to both the DARPA 2000 datasets and also the distributed denial of service attack datasets that we composed and generated ourself in general university. And then we evaluate how the proposed method is useful through classification using bayesian network classifier.

Study of DRM Application for the Portable Digital Audio Device (휴대용 디지털 오디오 기기에서의 DRM 적용에 관한 연구)

  • With the introduction of sound source sharing over the high speed internet and portable digital audio, the digitalization of sound source has been rapidly expanded and the sales and distribution of sound sources of the former offline markets are stagnant. Also, the problem of infringement of copyright is being issued seriously through illegal reproduction and distribution of digitalized sound sources. To solve these problems, the DRM technology for protecting contents and copyrights in portable digital audio device began to be introduced. However, since the existing DRM was designed based on the fast processing CPU and network environment, there were many problems in directly applying to the devices with small screen resolution, low processing speed and network function such as digital portable audio devices which the contents are downloadable through the PC. In this study, the DRM structural model which maintains similar security level as PC environment in the limited hardware conditions such as portable digital audio devices is proposed and analyzed. The proposed model chose portable digital audio exclusive device as a target platform which showed much better result in the aspect of security and usability compared to the DRM structure of exiting portable digital audio device.

  • Development of Internet technology and the spread of various smart devices provide a convenient computing environment for people, which is becoming common thanks to the Internet of Things (IoT). However, attacks by hackers have caused various problems, such as leaking personal information or violating privacy. In the IoT environment, various smart devices are connected, and network attacks that are used in the PC environment are occurring frequently in the IoT. In fact, security incidents such as conducting DDoS attacks by hacking IP cameras, leaking personal information, and monitoring unspecified numbers of personal files without consent are occurring. Although attacks in the existing Internet environment are PC-oriented, we can now confirm that smart devices such as IP cameras and tablets can be targets of network attacks. Through performance evaluation, the proposed protocol shows 11% more energy efficiency on servers than RSA, eight times greater energy efficiency on clients than Kerberos, and increased efficiency as the number of devices increases. In addition, it is possible to respond to a variety of security threats that might occur against the network. It is expected that efficient operations will be possible if the proposed protocol is applied to the IoT environment.

  • This paper is presented a model of management and application of PC, one of the most important computer resources and software and a model for optimal speed of network to organize information budget of University. I propose strategies to promote utilization degree of existing PCs, problems and strategies to maintain PC, effective strategies to expand PC and change into new models, and strategies to utilize effectively and purchase softwares. Also, I propose an optimal model for network environment and management, which is core to establish master plan of information system. Network is divided into internal and external network and formula model is proposed to calculate optimal speed of these. And strategy is proposed to maintain security of University preserving its characteristics.

User Privacy Security Scheme using Double Replication Key in the Cloud Environment (클라우드 환경에서 이중 복제 키를 사용한 사용자 프라이버시 보호 기법)

  • Recently, as the internet speed is getting faster, in the cloud environment, the service receiving device is changing from a general PC to a compact device such as a mobile phone or a tablet PC. Since handheld devices such as mobile phones or tablet PCs are often used in wireless rather than wired, there are many problems that personal information may be exposed maliciously from a third party. In this paper, we propose a user privacy protection scheme through a duplicate duplicate key generation process which can safely protect user 's privacy from third party among cloud services being served through various wireless media. The proposed scheme is used to synchronize the duplicated key between the server and the intermediary device, and aims at shortening the time of the authentication process protecting the user 's privacy. In this case, the proposed scheme uses Interleave() function and random number to synchronize the server and the intermediary device, so it can safely prevent the malicious attack of the third party.

  • As many people use internet through the various programs of PC and mobile devices, the possibility of private data leak is increasing. A program should be used after checking security of information flow. Security analysis of information flow is a method that analyzes security of information flow in program. If the information flow is secure, there is no leakage of personal information. If the information flow not secure, there may be a leakage of personal information. This paper proposes a method of analyzing information flow that facilitates SAT solver. The method translates a program that includes variables where security level is set into propositional formula representing control and information flow. The satisfiability of the formula translated is determined by using SAT solver. The security of program is represented through the result. Counter-example is generated if the program is not secure.

  • Recently, security researches have been processed on the method to cover a broader range of hacking attacks at the low level in the perspective of hardware. This system security applies not only to individuals' computer systems but also to cloud environments. "Cloud" concerns operations on the web. Therefore it is exposed to a lot of risks and the security of its spaces where data is stored is vulnerable. Accordingly, in order to reduce threat factors to security, the TCG proposed a highly reliable platform based on a semiconductor-chip, the TPM. However, there have been no technologies up to date that enables a real-time visual monitoring of the security status of a PC that is operated based on the TPM. And the TPB has provided the function in a visual method to monitor system status and resources only for the system behavior of a single host. Therefore, this paper will propose a m-TMS (Mobile Trusted Monitoring System) that monitors the trusted state of a computing environment in which a TPM chip-based TPB is mounted and the current status of its system resources in a mobile device environment resulting from the development of network service technology. The m-TMS is provided to users so that system resources of CPU, RAM, and process, which are the monitoring objects in a computer system, may be monitored. Moreover, converting and detouring single entities like a PC or target addresses, which are attack pattern methods that pose a threat to the computer system security, are combined. The branch instruction trace function is monitored using a BiT Profiling tool through which processes attacked or those suspected of being attacked may be traced, thereby enabling users to actively respond.

  • 스마트카드의 EEPROM은 갱신, 삭제가 가능한 프로그램 및 데이터가 저장되는 저장장치로서, 호스트 환경(PC환경)의 하드디스크와 같은 역할을 한다. 스마트카드의 EEPROM에 데이터를 저장하는 과정은 먼저 EEPROM의 데이터를 지우고, 새로운 데이터를 쓰는 두 단계로 이루어져 있기 때문에 중요 데이터에 대한 무결성을 보장하기 위해서 atomic operation은 하드웨어로서 지원하지 못할 경우 반드시 소프트웨어적으로 지원되어져야한다. 스마트카드 운영체제의 Atomic operation이 수행되는 과정에서 EEPROM의 버퍼 구조의 설계는 스마트카드의 수명과 밀접한 관계가 있으며, 파일에 접근하여 데이터를 처리하는 시간에 대하여 의존도가 매우 높다. 이에 본 논문에서는 스마트카드의 atomic operation 메커니즘에 대하여 알아보고, atomic operations 메커니즘을 지원하는 EEPROM의 Capabilities 증가 구조 제안과 효율적으로 파일의 접근 속도를 최소화하는 구조를 제안 한다.

  • 디지털홈 서비스는 기존 PC에서 제공하던 서비스와 차별화된 서비스를 실용화 하지 못하고 있는 이유 중에 하나는 오프라인에서 제공하던 의료, 법률, 교육 등의 서비스를 가정에 맞게 직접 제공하고 있지 못하기 때문이다. 이를 위하여 본 논문에서는 온라인에서 의사, 변호사와 안전하게 거래할 수 있도록 국가자격 인증기반을 구축하고자 이에 필수적인 검증 가능한 온라인 자격증 발급을 위하여 기존 공인인증서에 자격필드를 추가하거나, 기존 공인인증서를 그대로 사용하거나, 별도의 자격인증서를 발급하는 등 세 가지 발급모델을 제시한다. 또한 이러한 세 가지 발급모델의 장단점을 비교 분석하여 향후 자격인증기반 구축할 때 선택할 수 있는 기준을 제시한다. 마지막으로 기 제시된 세 가지 발급 모델 중에 자격필드가 추가된 공인인증서를 이용하여 의료서비스(E-Health)를 받는 서비스 모델 시나리오를 제안하고자 한다.

A Study on Characteristics of an IR Sensor with Bluetooth (Bluetooth를 이용한 적외선 센서의 특성에 관한 연구)

  • This paper studies the sensitivity analysis of an infrared rays (IR) sensor (SHARP-GD2D12) with bluetooth communication. To evaluate the performance of the IR sensor-bluetooth module, the distance and angle data between the sensor and the fixed object are measured with an IR sensor and the measured data are transferred to PC via bluetooth within 100 meters. This experiment shows that the IR sensor-bluetooth system can be used to measure the distance and angle for a fixed object within 100 meters.
