  • 3D 모델링 기술은 가상현실, 실감형 인터랙티브 등에서 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 실시간 3D 모델을 생성하는 연구는 많은 계산량으로 인해서 여러 대의 PC를 통합한 PC클러스터를 사용하고 있다. PC클러스터는 여러 대의 PC를 하나의 고성능 컴퓨터로 처리가 가능하지만, 여러 대의 PC를 효율적으로 제어 하는 문제와 고비용의 문제를 안고 있다. 본 논문은 한 대의 PC에서 멀티 코어를 동시에 수행하는 병렬처리 방법과 높은 계산 능력을 자랑하는 GPU와 CPU의 병렬처리 방법을 사용하여 한 대의 컴퓨터로 실시간 3D 모델 생성방법을 제안한다.

  • PDA(Personal Digital Assistant)와 같은 Mobile 이동통신기기를 사용한 인터넷 쇼핑은 향후 E-Commerce 시장에서 가장 크게 확산되어질 한 분야로 부상되고 있다. 그러나 현재 인터넷상에 혼재 되어있는 수많은 정보에 대하여 Pocket PC 환경상의 제한된 Screen Size와 느린 통신 속도, 무선 인터넷 접속시의 높은 비용, 저장능력의 한계 등의 문제로 웹 브라우징을 통한 다량의 웹 데이터에 대한 확인과 검색이 어렵고, 사용자가 원하지 않는 정보 또한 산재되어 있어 개인화된 검색 서비스의 요구가 대두되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 PDA 및 Pocket PC를 이용하는 사용자의 관심도를 기준으로 보다 편리하고 효율적인 개인화 Interface의 제공 및 이를 이용한 손쉬운 웹 브라우징 방식을 제시한다. 또한 User 인터랙션 정보를 통해 피드백 함으로써 보다 완벽하게 사용자 개인별 취향에 접근할 수 있는 브라우징 기법을 제시한다.

A Convergence Study on the Relationship between Empathy Abilities and Job Satisfaction of Speech and Language Rehabilitation in Daegu and Gyeongbuk (대구·경북지역 언어재활사의 공감능력과 직무만족도 간의 관련성에 대한 융합 연구)

  • The purpose of the convergence study is to provide basic data for improving job satisfaction of speech and language therapists by identifying the relationship between personal characteristics, empathy ability, and job satisfaction of speech and language therapists, especially between cognitive and emotional empathy ability and job satisfaction. The subjects of the study were 111 people of speech and language therapists working in Daegu and Gyeongbuk. For data analysis, t-test, ANOVA, and correlation analysis were performed using the SPSS/PC 21.0 statistical program according to the purpose of the study. As a result of the study, the relationship between empathy ability and job satisfaction was found to be high, and there was a high correlation between cognitive and emotional empathy ability, which is a sub-factor of empathy ability, and job satisfaction. Therefore, follow-up research is needed to identify the empathy and job satisfaction about nationwide speech and language therapists for implementing various education programs and improving empathy skills in the future.

Fast Hologram Generating of 3D Object with Super Multi-Light Source using Parallel Distributed Computing (병렬 분산 컴퓨팅을 이용한 초다광원 3차원 물체의 홀로그램 고속 생성)

  • The computer generated hologram (CGH) method is the technology which can generate a hologram by using only a personal computer (PC) commonly used. However, the CGH method requires a huge amount of calculational time for the 3D object with a super multi-light source or a high-definition hologram. Hence, some solutions are obviously necessary for reducing the computational complexity of a CGH algorithm or increasing the computing performance of hardware. In this paper, we propose a method which can generate a digital hologram of the 3D object with a super multi-light source using parallel distributed computing. The traditional methods has the limitation of improving CGH performance by using a single PC. However, the proposed method where a server PC efficiently uses the computing power of client PCs can quickly calculate the CGH method for 3D object with super multi-light source. In the experimental result, we verified that the proposed method can generate the digital hologram with 1,5361,536 resolution size of 3D object with 157,771 light source in 121 ms. In addition, in the proposed method, we verify that the proposed method can reduce generation time of a digital hologram in proportion to the number of client PCs.

  • Matrix multiplication is widely used in scientific and engineering field. Locality can improve the execution performance of matrix multiplication. A method for accelerating matrix multiplication is presented. This method uses both CPU and GPU computing power in PC. The presented method improved execution time about %15~30% than the method which uses only GPU.

  • In this paper, we present the results of educational innovation case study using U-Learning Box and Ubiquitous-based Test(UBT) system for 6 sample primary schools in Nepal. As Nepal is considered to be a developing country with electricity problem to the school, the U-Learning Box, consisting of a small and easy-to-use tablet PC for teacher and a small smart beam with its own battery was evaluated as the optimum solution to support continuous basic English and hygiene education for these schools. And UBT technology using tablet PC was used to evaluate and analyze basic English learning ability of the students, which helped us realized that it is necessary to improve the educational environment and develop suitable educational contents. We hope that the global educational innovation using U-Learning Box and UBT technology will become a successful model for global equality of educational opportunity project for developing countries including Nepal.

Parallelization of Raster GIS Operations Using PC Clusters (PC 클러스터를 이용한 래스터 GIS 연산의 병렬화)

  • With the increasing demand of processing massive geographic data, conventional GISs based on the single processor architecture appear to be problematic. Especially, performing complex GIS operations on the massive geographic data is very time consuming and even impossible. This is due to the processor speed development does not keep up with the data volume to be processed. In the field of GIS, this PC clustering is one of the emerging technology for handling massive geographic data effectively. In this study, a MPI(Message Passing Interface)-based parallel processing approach was conducted to implement the existing raster GIS operations that typically requires massive geographic data sets in order to improve the processing capabilities and performance. Specially for this research, four types of raster CIS operations that Tomlin(1990) has introduced for systematic analysis of raster GIS operation. A data decomposition method was designed and implemented for selected raster GIS operations.

  • 컴퓨터 생성 홀로그램(CGH: computer generated hologram) 기법은 기존의 광학계 장치와 변수들을 수학적으로 모델링하여 일반 범용 컴퓨터(PC: personal computer)로도 디지털 홀로그램을 생성할 수 있는 기술이다. 이 기술은 디지털 홀로그램의 해상도와 3D 물체의 광원 수에 따라 알고리즘의 연산량이 좌우되기 때문에, 실용적인 사용을 위해서 알고리즘의 연산량을 낮추거나 하드웨어의 연산 속도를 높이는 연구가 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 초다광원 3D 물체의 디지털 홀로그램을 고속으로 생성할 수 있는 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 한 개의 서버 PC와 다수의 클라이언트 PC들로 구성되어 있으며, 이들은 일반적으로 사용되는 범용 GPU (graphic processing unit)가 장착되어 있다. 서버에서 3D 물체의 광원을 스캔하여 데이터화 하고, 클라이언트 PC들의 연산 능력에 따라 광원 데이터를 분할하여 클라이언트들에게 각각 전송한다. 각각의 클라이언트들은 전송받은 데이터를 이용해 다중 GPU 기반의 CGH 연산을 수행하여 간섭 패턴들을 생성하고, 생성된 패턴들은 다시 서버 PC로 재전송된다. 서버 PC로 재전송 된 패턴들이 하나로 누적되면 디지털 홀로그램이 생성된다. 본 실험에서, 기존의 방법으로는 139,655개의 광원에 대해 $1,024{\times}1,024$ 해상도의 홀로그램을 생성하는데 약 2,250 ms가 걸린 반면, 제안하는 방법은 약 478 ms의 속도로 생성할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

Evaluation of Probiotics as an Alternative to Antibiotic on Growth Performance, Nutrient Digestibility, Occurrence of Diarrhea and Immune Response in Weaning Pigs (항생제 대체제로서 생균제가 이유자돈의 성장능력 및 영양소 이용률, 설사 빈도, 면역 반응에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to determine the effects of probiotics supplementation on growth performance, nutrient digestibility, occurrence of diarrhea and immune response in weaning pigs. Treatments were 1) NC (basal diet), 2) PC (basal diet + 0.12% avilamycin) and 3) A (basal diet + 0.2% Aspergillus oryzae), 4) B (basal diet + 0.2% Lactobacillus casei), 5) C (basal diet + 0.2% Bacillus subtilis), 6) D (basal diet + 0.2% Lactobacillus crispatus). A total of 120 pigs ($7.16\pm0.01$ kg average body weight, weaned at $23\pm3$days of age) were assigned to 6 treatments, 5 replicates and 4 pigs per pen in a randomized complete block (RCB) design. During the whole experimental period, body weight (P<0.01), average daily gain (ADG; P<0.01), and average daily feed intake (ADFI; P<0.05) of treatment PC were higher than other treatments. However, the probiotics treatments tended to increase ADG and G:F ratio compared to treatment NC. The G:F ratio in treatment A (Aspergillus oryzae) was similar to treatment PC during the whole experimental period (P<0.05). The supplementation of probiotics in the diet of weaning pig did not change nutrient digestibility (dry matter, crude protein, crude fat and ash) and nitrogen retention of weaning pigs. In blood urea nitrogen (BUN) concentration, treatment B had lower value than other treatments at 2 and 4 weeks (P<0.05). Treatments PC and C tended to decrease diarrhea score than other treatments (P=0.18). At 3h after lipopolysaccharide (LPS) injection, treatments NC and PC had higher count of $CD^{4+}$ T-cells than probiotics treatments, and treatment C showed the lowest value (P<0.01). There were no differences on count of $CD^{8+}$ T-cells and $CD^{4+}:CD^{8+}$ ratio among all treatments (P>0.10). These results suggest that the dietary probiotics are likely able to improve the growth performance, occurrence of diarrhea and immune response although they do not have similar effects like antibiotics in weaning pigs.
