  • This paper investigates the multi-pass wet wire drawing process considering the slip between the wire and the capstan. The production of fine wire through multi-pass wet wire drawing process would be impossible without backtension. The backtension is affected by many process parameters, such as slip, dies reduction, coiling number of wire at the capstan, machine reduction, characteristic of lubricant etc. Up to date, die design and dies pass schedule of multi-pass wet wire drawing process have been performed by trial and error of expert in the industrial field. In this study, an analysis program which can perform the analysis and considering the effect of slip at each capstan was developed. The effects of many important parameters (drawing force, backtension force, needed power, slip rate, slip velocity rate etc.) on multi-pass wet wire drawing process can be predicted by this developed program. It is possible to obtain the important basic data which can be used in the pass schedule of multi-pass wet wire drawing process by using this developed program.

  • This paper introduces a way to realize high-pass, band-stop and all-pass transfer functions using Operational Transconductance Amplifiers (OTAs) and grounded capacitors. The basic circuit configuration is constructed with five OTAs and two grounded capacitors. In the circuit with the proportional block, it is shown that the circuit parameters can be independently set and electronically tuned by the transconductance gains. Although the circuit configuration has been Down, it seems that the feature for realizing the high-pass, the band-pass and the all-pass transfer functions makes the structure more attractive and useful. An example is given together with simulated results by PSPICE.

  • The objective of this paper is to compare the site-to-site variability of ISO 10844 pass by the noise test sites. In order to investigate the site-to-site variance of test surfaces, European commercial tires are tested at seven different test sites. Three Korea test sites and four Europe test sites are selected. The pass by noise test is done according to a 2001/43/EC regulation. Although the ISO surface has a very specific track composition, it does not reduce the variation of pass by noise measurements over the surface of test sites. This paper shows that the test results of pass by noise level are different depending on the test sites. The correlation obtained in this work is able to predict the pass by noise level for certain test site using the data measured from another test site. The prediction value is range with an error within 1dB(A).

  • In this paper, we propose a tunable drop/pass filter in the form of composed of Mach-Zehnder interferometer, to which a fiber grating and two PZTs are attached. The proposed drop/pass filter drops a part of signal power at a specific wavelength and pass the remnant of the signal to the next node in WDM network. Our simulation results show that the optical feedback is less than 2% and the drop to pass ratio can be made bigger than 10% if the phase difference between the two arms is within .+-.0.2.pi. from (2m+1).pi.. Also, the output powers at drop prot and pass port are measured to be maximum at the phase difference of .pi./2 and .pi., respectively, as expected.

  • The novel integration method with programmable high-pass filter is suggested in order to solve the problem of integration for stator flux estimation in a stator flux oriented direct vector controlled induction motor drive system. The dc offset in a pure integrator is eliminated using high-pass filter with fixed time constant, and then time constant of programmable high-pass filter is controlled with a inverter frequency for integration in a wide frequency range, considering phase lag and attenuation due to both the hardware low-pass filter and high-pass filter. The proposed method is verified with the experimental results implemented by 32-bit DSP.

  • We have designed a three-channel output multiplexer (OMUX) using a band-pass filter and an ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna. The proposed band-pass filter is composed of an inner rectangular loop, an outer open stub, and a defected ground structure. The outer open stub can be used to control the pass band, and the inner rectangular loop can improve the insertion loss characteristics of the band-pass filter. The proposed band-pass filter, UWB antenna, and OMUX are fabricated and measured. The designed OMUX can cover the band group 1 (3,168-4,752 MHz) of WiX system. The measured radiation patterns are close to those of a conventional dipole antenna and the measured antenna gain varies from 1.8 dBi to 3 dBi over the operating frequency range.

  • There are lots of the narrow pass on alluvial channel of Korea. Most of research about this narrow pass of channel were focused on incremental effect of water level at backwater segment. In the meantime this research showed that it is important to valuate the river-bed variation at backward and forward around narrow pass. The sediment deposit at not only the backward of narrow pass but also the forward affected incremental effect of water level. The sediment deposit at the forward of narrow pass headed by sediment that passed through the narrow passed or scoured right around it.

  • This research proposes a modified version of single pass algorithm specialized for text clustering. Encoding documents into numerical vectors for using the traditional version of single pass algorithm causes the two main problems: huge dimensionality and sparse distribution. Therefore, in order to address the two problems, this research modifies the single pass algorithm into its version where documents are encoded into not numerical vectors but other forms. In the proposed version, documents are mapped into tables and the operation on two tables is defined for using the single pass algorithm. The goal of this research is to improve the performance of single pass algorithm for text clustering by modifying it into the specialized version.

  • Presented in this paper is the process planning for multi-weldline/multi-pass robot welding. First, downhand welding for welding quality and stability for welding productivity, the two concept of process planning for single-weldling/single-pass robot weldling are derived. Next, process planning procedure for single-weldling/single-pass robot weldling is proposed and the procedure is extended for multi-weldling and/or multi-pass robot welding.
