  • The purpose of study on the PAS release therapy used by myofascial release was to Introduce for clinical therapists whose want to relict pain on myofascia or soft tissue lesion patients by pas. According to review the earlier studies for a myofascial pain syndrome, myofascial release is not only to decrease muscle tone but also the effect of pas therapy has to facilitate a circulation of the human energy called Ki, so PAS release which was combined therapy pattern would be Possible relief Pain in the musculoskeletal lesion's Patients. Therefore I would be suggested to physical therapists in domestic the PAS release therapy used by myofascial release.

  • PURPOSE; The main purpose of physical therapy is to minimize patient's pain. So this study aimed at evaluating the effect of PAS release applied to tender points in reducing pain of musculoskeletal lesion persons. METHOD; The PAS (capsicum plaster) Release applied at 48 tender points to relieve and assessment pain threshold by Harold Gottlieb's pain scale that was composed of Negligible sensation 4.00, Mild sensation 3.00, Moderate sensation 2.00, Severe sensation 1.00. RESULT; Results show that PAS release was 84.6% effect in achieving a gradual decrease of pain sensitivity at the tender points where it was applied, suggestion a cumulative analgesic effect through sessions. CONCLUSION; This study suggests that PAS release applied to tender points can be effective in relieving soft tissue pain through theses have not become asymptomatic, all referred significant pain relief(p <0.05) after study and at the end of PAS release therapy.

  • The Applicability of chitin or chitosan microsphere as means to achieve sustained release of p-aminosalicylic acid(PAS) has been examined. The microsphere of chitin or chitosan containing PAS were prepared by coacervation in acidic aqueous system in range of pH 2.0-4.0. The dissolution test of PAS from polymeric drug system was carried out in vitro test. The dissolution rate of PAS from the microsphere with chitin was significanthly lower than that from the microsphere with chitosan. The dissolution rate of PAS from the microsphere was decreased with increasing of concentration of chitin and chitosan. The sustained release of PAS from the microsphere was more effective at pH 1.2 than pH 6.8.

  • Objectives : In this study, we investigated the effects of Agastachis Herba water (AH-W) extract on compound 48/80-induced mast cell degranulation and histamine release in human mast cells and also anti-asthmatic effect of AH-W extract on ovalbumin (OVA)-induced asthma in mice. Methods : Human mast cells, HMC-1 were treated with AH-W extract in the presence or absence of compound 48/80 (C48/80). Mast cell degranulation was observed by microscope, and the histamine release was measured in culture medium by ELISA. For preparation of asthmatic in vivo model, mice were sensitized (0, 7, and 14 days) with OVA and airway challenged (21, 23, 25, 27, and 29 days). AH-W extract at doses of 100 and 300 mg/kg/body weight was orally administered during OVA challenge once per a day. The levels of immunoglobulin (Ig) E, and Th1/Th2 cytokines, IFN-$\gamma$ and IL-4 were measured in the sera of mice by ELISA. The histopathological change of lung tissues was observed by hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) and Periodic Acid Schiff (PAS) staining. Results : The treatment of AH-W extract significantly decreased the mast cell degranulation and histamine release in C48/80-stimulated HMC-1 cells. In addition, The administration of AH-W extract at does of 100 and 300 mg/kg significantly decreased the serum levels of OVA-specific IgE compared with those of OVA control group. In H&E and PAS staining, AH-W extract inhibited OVA-induced airway inflammation, and inflammatory cells infiltration, and also histopathological damages on lung tissues such as bronchiole epithelial desquamation, goblet cells hyperplasia, and mucin releasing. Conclusions : These results indicate that AH-W extract may improve asthmatic symptoms through mast cell stabilization and inhibiting the lung inflammation in bronchial asthma.

  • Objectives : In this study, we investigated the effect of Cassia obtusifolia Linne (Cassiae Semen; CS) extract on ovalbumin (OVA)-induced allergic asthma in mice. Methods : CR was extracted with 70% ethanol. For in vitro study, HMC-1, human mast cells were treated with CS extract at 0.2 and $0.5mg/m{\ell}$ for 1 h, and then stimulated with compound (C) 48/80 for 30 min. Primary spleenocytes were isolated from the spleen of mice, treated with CS extract for 1 h, and then stimulated with ConA for 24 h. For in vivo study, mice were sensitized at day 0, 7 and 14 with 0.2% OVA and then airway challenged using neublizer at day 21, 23, 25, and 27 to induced allergic asthma. CS extract at doses of 100 and 300 mg/kg body weight was orally administered during OVA challenge once per a day. The levels of allergic mediators such as histamine, OVA-specific IgE, IL-4, and $IFN-{\gamma}$ were measured in the sera of mice or culture supernatants by EIA and ELISA, respectively. The expression of IL-4 and $IFN-{\gamma}$ gene was determined by RT-PCR. The histopathological change of lung tissues was observed with hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) and Periodic acid Schiff (PAS) staining. Results : The treatment of CS extract in HMC-1 cells significantly inhibited C48/80-induced degranulation, and histamine release. The treatment of CS extract in spleenocytes suppressed the expression of IL-4 and $IFN-{\gamma}$ mRNA. The administration of CS extract in OVA-induced asthmatic mice significantly decreased the levels of OVA-specific IgE, and IL-4 in a dose-dependent manner with OVA-control group. In addition, CS extract inhibited the infiltration of inflammatory cells and bronchiolar damage with epithelial thickening in lung tissues of OVA-induced asthma mice, and also mucin accumulation. Conclusions : These results indicate that CS extract prevents asthmatic damage through regulating the allergic immune response.
