We report an analysis on the stability properties of external cavity semiconductor lasers exposed to strong feedback from an external grating. The frequency range of stable single mode oscillation is found to depend on the offset between the resonance frequency of the solitary laser and the frequency of maximum reflection from the grating.

Overproduction of Escherichia coli thiol peroxidase in the periplasmic space was achieved by locating the appropriate gene on a downstream region of the strong T7 promoter. E. coli strain BL21 carrying the recombinant plasmid pSK-TPX was induced by IPTG, lysed, and analyzed by SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. A large amount of the overexpressed thiol peroxidase was located in the periplasmic space. A homogeneous thiol peroxidase was obtained from E. coli osmotic shock fluid by simple one-step gel permeation chromatography.

In humans, an immediate allergic response to an allergen snay appear as either bronchial asthma unaccompanied by anaphylaxis or a severe bronchial constriction and spasm accompanied by anaphylaxis. Much experimental evidence with isolated asthmatic tissues has shown that histamine is released during the allergic reaction. Paradoxically, antihistamine treatment is ineffective in reversing bronchial asthma or anapllylaxis in a man. The present study objective is to search for protective agents(In-Sam-Yun-Pai-San-Ga-Gam-Bang) against bronchial constriction in treating a anaphylaxis. The result from this study is as follows. A single dose of In-Sam-Yun-Pai-San-Ga-Gam-Bang extract(3ml/kg body weight) 2 hrs prior to histamine-induced bronchial constriction test demonstrated significant protection. Based on the above result, It is considered that In-Sam-Yun-Pai-San-Ga-Gam-Bang can be used in bronchial asthma.

An and hoc network is a collection of wireless mobile nodes forming a temporary network without the centralized administration. Due to the limited transmission range of wireless work interface, multiple networks "hops" maybe needed for one node to exchange data with adjacent node. In recent years, a variety of new routing protocol about ad hoc network was developed. This paper presents a new routing protocol based on the Dynamic Source Routing which is not suitable for the high mobility ad hoc network. The Enhanced DR adapts quickly to routing changes when node movement is frequent. When a trunk route is broken, this protocol will utilize the alternative route saved in the route to discovery quickly the new route. It improves the performance of the existing DSR algorithm, so that the negative impacts from weakness of DSR are reduced.

비디오 데이터의 효율적인 저장, 관리를 위해서는 장면전환 검출을 통한 비디오 분할 기술에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 기존의 장면전환 검출 알고리즘은 복호화에 의한 연산량 및 프레임들간의 비교에 의한 연산량이 많고 잡음에 의한 오검출 및 미검출이 발생하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 MPEG 압축 비디오에서 압축 영역에서의 타른 장면전환 검출을 위한 최적의 검색 간격을 유도하였고, 검색간격 내의 B 프레임의 방향성을 직접 추출하여 장면전환검출에 이용하므로 빠르고 정확한 장면전환 검출 알고리즘을 제안한다.

The AC insulation breakdown voltage was investigated for seven types of winding coils made of polyamideimide (PAI), flexural PAI (nanosilica 5 wt%) and anti-corona PAI (nanosilica 15 wt%) wires with various winding coil diameters of φ5, φ15 and φ25 mm. The winding coil was made of enameled wire with an enamel thickness of 30~50 μm, and the rectangular copper wire had a thickness of 0.77~ to 0.83 mm and width of 1.17~ to 1.23 mm, respectively. The insulation breakdown voltages of the original PAI coils with diameters of φ5, φ15 and φ25 mm were 7.30, 6.58, and 5.95 kV, respectively, and those values decreased as the winding coil diameter increased, regardless of the wire types.
