The Changes in the Electrical Stimulation Induced Pain Threshold and Skin Temperatures According to Methods of Cold Application (냉(cold)적용 방법에 따른 동통 역치 및 피부 온도의 변화)

  • The purpose of this experimental study was conducted to examine the most effective modality between two methods of cold application(ice pack and cold spray), the most effective length of time for the application and the continuing effect after each type of cold application. Sixty students were assigned randomly to each of two cold application methods; (a) ice pack, (2) cold spray. Each methods was applied to the posterior surface of right forearm with subject in the sitting position. Skin temperature and the electrical stimulation induced pain threshold were measured before each application and every five degree ($^{\circ}C$) decline point after ice pack application. They were also measured point of minimum skin temperature after cold spray application. The results of this study are as follows; 1. Skin temperatures according to the cold spray application decreased to a range of $4.2^{\circ}C{\sim}9.2^{\circ}C$(male, p<0.001), $3.6^{\circ}C{\sim}7.6^{\circ}C$(female, p<0.001). 2. Pain threshold according to the cold spray application increased to a range of $0.6mA{\sim}1.9mA$(male, p<0.01), $1.2mA{\sim}3.86mA$(female, p>0.05).

Effect of Different Fertilizers on Growth and Fiber Yield in Ramie Plant (모시풀의 생육과 섬유수량에 미치는 비료의 영향)

  • To determine the optimal application level of fertilizers, nitrogen, phosphate, potassium and lime in ramie(Beohmeria nivia Hooker et Arnot), the experiments were conducted for four years from seedling stage propagated by suckers to fully-grown stage under various comibinations of $N, P_2O_5, O$ and lime. Increasing in application rate of N and $K_2$O enhanced stem growth of ramie greatly, and it appeared that lime application also had large effect on increase of stem growth. Yield increased greatly by increasing of application rate with two or three times in N and two times in $K_2$O as much as the standard application rate of fertilizers N-$P_2O_5$-$K_2$O =9-3-9kg/l0a. Especially, treatment with 18kg N, 3kg $P_2O_5, $, 18kg $K_2$O and 200kg lime per l0a showed higher percentage of productive culm and increased yield of crude fiber about 33%. The variation among treatments was relatively small in stem length but larger in fresh weight of shoot and stem. The variation was large at early stage of experiment, that is, from one to two years after planting, but decreased progressively from three years after planting. There was no large difference in number of stems among application rates of fertilizers from three years after planting which was fully-grown stage. However, increasing in application rate of Nand $K_2$O twice as much as the standard rate had large effect on increasing the percentage of productive culm, and hence increased yield greatly.

Impact of phosphorus application on the indigenous arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi, soybean growth and yield in a 5-year phosphorus-unfertilized crop rotation

  • Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) are particular soil fungi that benefit many crops and require a symbiosis with plant roots to survive. In our previous study, there was a positive correlation between AMF root colonization and soybean grain yield in a four-year consecutive winter cover crop-soybean rotational system without phosphorus fertilizer. It is suggested that higher AMF root colonization can be a better solution for improving soybean growth and grain yield in P-limited soil. Our purpose in this study was to test the hypothesis that a P application is the main factor improving soybean growth, P nutrition and grain yield, and the benefit from AMF to soybean P uptake and growth in a P-limited soil. Impact of a P application on AMF root colonization and communities in soybean roots and their potential contribution to soybean growth and P nutrition under a five-year P-unfertilized crop rotational system were investigated over two-years. In this study, four cover crop treatments included 1) wheat (Triticum aestivum); 2) red clover (Trifolium pratense); 3) rapeseed (Brassica napus); and 4) fallow in the crop rotation. The amount of triple superphosphate as a P fertilizer applied rate after cultivation of cover crops was 120 and $360k\;ha^{-1}$ in 2014 and 2015, respectively. Soybean roots were sampled at full-flowering and analyzed for AMF communities using polymerase chain reaction-denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (PCR-DGGE) and quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR) techniques. The AMF root colonization in the soybean roots at full bloom stage was significantly influenced by cover crop and P application throughout the two-year rotation. The two-year rotation of different cover crops or fallow impacted the molecular diversity of AMF communities colonizing roots of soybean. Redundancy analysis (RDA) indicated that AMF communities colonizing roots of soybean were significantly different among cover crop rotations. The AMF communities colonizing roots of soybean were clearly influenced by a P application in the two-year trial. Moreover, a P application may have positively impacts on the AMF communities under P-deficit soil due to the continuous cover crop-soybean rotational system without a P fertilizer.

Nursing Protocols of Cold Application in Different Medical Institutions in Korea (전국 의료기관의 냉 요법 실무지침 및 임상간호사의 냉 요법 실무 현황)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate nursing protocols for superficial cryotherapy in different medical institutions. Methods: The study was conducted with a cross-sectional descriptive design. The medical institutions including general hospitals, hospitals, and geriatric hospitals were randomly selected. A total of 435 nurses from 126 institutions completed a questionnaire. Data were collected from December 2014 to June 2015. Results: Forty-two institutions (39.5%) had nursing protocol for cryotherapy. The nurses reported that durations of cold application were 2 minutes to 5 hours. Frequently used cold therapy devices in order of frequency were frozen gel packs, ice packs, and frozen IV fluid bags. There were variances in the duration of cold application according to the types of institution ($x^2=7.78$, p=.020) and nursing units ($x^2=26.42$, p<.001). In addition, intervals of cold application were different according to the nursing units (x=12.23, p=.032). There were differences in cold application instruments by regional groups (x=70.38, p<.001). Most of the nurses (95.6%) responded that national nursing protocol for superficial cryotherapy were needed. Conclusion: There were difficulties in providing consistent nursing interventions because of the practical differences and absence of evidence-based guidelines for cryotherapy. The researchers recommend that basic studies with various instruments be conducted and proper nursing protocols be developed for cryotherapy.

Phosphorus Significance in Alleviating Oxidative Stress Induced by Drought in Kentucky Bluegrass (Poa pratensis L.)

  • The objective of this study was to determine phosphorus effects on drought stress-induced oxidative stress in Kentucky bluegrass. Drought stress was induced by reducing of water to plants in pots. Two types of phosphorus were applied as potassium phosphate (P) or potassium phosphonate (PA). Application of phosphorus was efficient to ameliorate the adverse effects of drought. Osmotic potential, total chlorophyll and carotenoid content were significantly decreased by drought stress, but was relieved by P or PA application. Superoxide (O2•-) concentration was significantly increased more than 14-fold under drought-stressed plants, was accompanied with increase of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and lipid peroxidation (MDA). However, malondialdehyde (MDA) was much less in P or PA applied plants under drought stress condition. Activities of catalase (CAT), ascorbate peroxidase (APX) and guaiacol-peroxidase (GPX) were largely increased by drought stress and its increase rate was much higher in P or PA applied plants except APX. These results indicate that drought stress-induced oxidative stress is alleviated by P or PA application due to the increase of activities of antioxidant enzymes.

Growth of Lettuce and Young Radish and Changes of Soil Chemical Properties after Application of Soldier Fly Compost (동애등에분 처리 시 상추와 무의 생육 및 토양화학성 변화)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the effects on soil chemical properties and plant growth after applying soldier fly compost (SFC). Treatments were as follows. No fertilizer (NF), control, SFC1 (SFC 250 kg/10a), SFC2 (SFC 500 kg/10a) and SFC3 (SFC 1,000 kg/10a). As compared to control in the pot test, organic matter (OM) and exchangeable sodium (Ex-Na) of SFC3 treatment were increased, and growth and nutrient uptake of young radish were not significantly different. Correlation coefficient between soil chemical factors like total nitrogen (T-N), OM, and CEC and uptake of nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) was significantly positive (p≤0.05). Compared to control in the field test, electrical conductivity, T-N, OM, Av.-P2O5, and CEC was increased, and lettuce growth was not significantly different. Correlation coefficient between application amount of SFC and T-N, OM, and Av.-P2O5 was significant positively (p≤0.05). These results indicated that the application of SFC improved nutrient availability of soil by increasing OM and CEC.

Effects of the application of Sewage Sludge on the Growth of Chinese Cabbage(Brassica campestris L.) and Changes in Soil Chemical Properties. (불수 sludge 시용이 배추의 생육과 토양의 화학성 변화에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effect of sewage sludge application on the growth of chinese cabbage and the changes of chemical properties of soil. The experiment were set up with two different place and cultivated from Feb. 10 to June. 20 of 2000. Treatments are 0, 1.25, 2.5, 5, 10 and 20kg/3.3$\m^2$ of sewage sludge applicated into the soil and recorded the growth characteristics. Chemical properties of soil were also analysed before and after treatment. The application of the sewage sludge resulted in increasing the content of EC, cations exchange capacity, available phosphate and organic matter. And increased the growth characteristics in terms of the number of leaves, leaf area, fresh and dry weight regardless of crops experiments. Optimum amount of the sewage sludge depended on chemical properties of soil used. This results demonstrated that application of sewage sludge in the soil attribute to have play an important both improving soil chemical properties and promoting the crop growth. As lowering the soil pH(pH 6) heavy metal content increased compared with higher pH(pH 7). Feasibility was recognized in the application of sewage sludge as a fertilizer for the growth of chinese cabbage. Detrimental effects such as heavy metal in the soil and crop followed by the application of sewage sludge was not observed.

  • 스마트기기 간 파일을 공유할 경우, 사용자는 파일 공유 프로그램을 설치해 이를 이용하거나 외부저장장치를 이용해 파일을 공유한다. 클라우드 저장소에 파일을 저장해 이를 공유하는 웹 애플리케이션을 사용할 경우, 클라우드 저장소의 제한된 크기로 인해 파일의 크기가 제한되는 경우가 있다. 본 논문에서는 기존 파일 공유 방법의 단점을 해결하기 위해 P2P 파일 공유 웹 애플리케이션을 제시한다. P2P 파일 공유 웹 애플리케이션을 이용하면 기존에 설치된 브라우저만을 이용해 파일 용량 제한 없는 파일 공유가 가능하다. HTML5 표준의 WebRTC를 이용하면 브라우저만을 이용해 연결지향 양방향 P2P 통신이 가능하다. 본 논문에서는 P2P 파일 공유 웹 애플리케이션 구현에 앞서 P2P 파일 공유 프로토콜을 제시한다. 본 논문에서 제시하는 P2P 파일 공유 프로토콜은 JSON 메시지와 메시지 핸들러를 이용한 브라우저 간 비동기적 RPC(Remote Procedure Call) 형태로 설계되었다. 본 논문에서 설계한 프로토콜을 이용해 P2P 파일 공유 웹 애플리케이션을 구현하였다.

The Comparison of Various Shampoos on Skin pH in Normal Dogs (상용샴푸가 정상견의 피부 pH에 미치는 영향)

  • Shampoos are used routinely by a large number of veterinarians to treat skin diseases. Skin pH is affected by shampoos, however, known to occur. In order to evaluate the effect of shampoos on skin surface pH, we performed the measurement of skin pH using skin pH meter PH900 in five healthy mixed breed dogs. The seven commercial shampoos: Humilac, Sebocalm, Sebolytics, Etiderm, PEroxyderm, HyLyt and Zn-7 Derm were included in this study. The anatomical sites, right thorax was the highest pH (7.66$\pm$0.10), and the lowest pH (6.20$\pm$0.23) was left pinna. A statiscally significant decrease in skin pH was found 7 minutes after application of Humilac, Sebocalm, Etiderm, Peroxyderm (p<0.01) and Sebolytics (p<0.05). After 17 minutes of application skin surface pH was inclined to increase in every shampoos but the degree of increase was slight at 77 minutes. No statiscally significant differences were found in HyLy-T and Zn-7 Derm, but skin pH was normal range (6.2-7.8) after application. Throughout the experiment skin surface pH was maintained above pH 7.0 in detergent. The commercial shampoos, Humilac, Sebocalm, Etiderm, had the decreasing effect on skin surface pH in dogs. The other four shampoos maintain the skin pH normal range. The skin pH meter PH 900 was found simple and useful for skin pH measurement.

  • In this paper we obtain the closed forms of some hypergeometric functions. As an application, we obtain the explicit forms of the Bergman kernel functions for intersection of two complex ellipsoids {$z{\in}\mathbb{C}^3:{\mid}z_1{\mid}^p+{\mid}z_2{\mid}^q$ < 1, ${\mid}z_1{\mid}^p+{\mid}z_3{\mid}^r$ < 1}. We consider cases p = 6, q = r = 2 and p = q = r = 2. We also investigate the Lu Qi-Keng problem for p = q = r = 2.
