  • The emerging peer-to-peer (P2P) model has recently gained a significant attention due to its high potential of sharing various resources among networked users. Super-peer unstructured P2P systems have been found very effective by dividing the peers into two layers, super-peer and edge peer. Super peer deal with all Queries instead of edge peers. The existing P2P systems assume all super peers have equal roles and capabilities. However, all super peers don't so that edge peers should select the best super peer in order to handle Queries well. In this paper, we suggest the ISP2P (Intelligent Super-peer based P2P) which allows to select the best super peer to the edge peers. We classify super peers according as the capacity of a edge peer to a super peer. We show that considering the quality of a edge peer to a super peer can improve the performance of the response time and bandwidth.

  • The emerging peer-to-peer (P2P) model has recently gained a significant attention due to its high potential of sharing various resources among networked users. Super-peer based unstructured P2P systems have been found very effective by dividing the peers into two layers, super-peer and ordinary-peer Super-peers deal with all queries instead of ordinary-peers. The existing P2P systems assume all super-peers have equal responsibility and capabilities even if all super-peers have relative advantages and disadvantages. In this paper, we suggest the ISP2P (Intelligent Super-peer based P2P) which allows to select the best super peer to ordinary-peers. We classify super peers according as the capacity of an ordinary-peer a super-peer. We show that these considerations could improve the performance of the response time and Provide higher quality results to all peers in the network.

  • In this paper, we describe the design and implementation of ObjectPeerWork, which is a framework for the development of shared object model-based P2P(Peer-to-Peer) applications. The shared object model can prevent the computing power decrease on the way of resource management by incorporating the resource management function into resources themselves, and raise reliability on shared resources by improving the security problems. Also this model assures expandability by means of distributed component-based request broker manager and module container. The ObjectPeerWork based on this shared object model is a framework which makes the implementation of the enterprise information system possible, and makes distribution of the computing power and efficient resource management possible by improving the weakness in the general P2P model.

  • A peer-to-peer web caching has been studied recently as it can reduce the traffic converged on the server side and can support the traditional web caching model. Although the peer-to-peer web caching has the merit of having additional cache space from the local caches of peers without additional infrastructure, several constraints such as dynamic participation and local caching strategy caused by the autonomy of peers in peer-to-peer networks nay limit the performance of the peer-to-peer web caching. To overcome these limitations, we propose an efficient directory-based peer-to-peer web caching system under dynamic participation of peers. In the proposed caching system, we present new peer selection and replica management schemes by introducing the concept of the object lifetime in P2P networks. We evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed system through trace-driven simulations with a web log dataset. Simulation results show that the proposed system has higher accuracy and fewer redirection failures than the conventional directory-based P2P web caching system in feasible peer-to-peer networks.

  • A peer-to-peer model is very useful in solving the server link bottleneck problem of a client-server model. In this work, we discuss the problems of distributing multimedia content over peer-to-peer network. We focus on two problems in peer-to-peer media content distribution systems. The first is the transmission scheduling of the media data for a multi-source streaming session. We present a sophisticated scheduling scheme called fixed-length slotted scheduling, which results in minimum buffering delay. The second problem is on the fast distribution of media content in the peer-to-peer system that is self-growing. We propose a mechanism accelerating the speed at which the system's streaming ca-pacity increases, called FAST.

  • P2P Systems have grown dramatically in recent years. Now many P2P systems have developed and been confronted by P2P technical challenges. We should consider how to efficiently locate desired resources. In this paper we integrated the existing pure P2P and hybrid P2P model. We try to keep roles of super peer in hybrid and concurrently use pure P2P model for searching resource. In order to improve the existing search mechanism, we present contents-based classification mechanism. Proposed system have the following features. This can forward only query to best peer using RI. Second, it is self-organization. A peer can reconfigure network that it can communicate directly with based on best peer. Third, peers can cluster each other through contents-based classification.

  • In this paper, we have designed the integrated wire and wireless P2P framework using mobile agents to share efficiently resources as media file. Most of the P2P applications are used on the wire network. We propose the integrated wire and wireless P2P framework. Proposed P2P platform is based on JXTA of Sun Microsystems. But JXTA is pure peer-to-peer network model, so it sends message other peers as broadcast style to request resources. In this way, there are some problems as massage overload, bandwidth loss, etc. In order to solve this problem, we propose a hybrid peer-to-peer network model using mobile agent. Proposed scheme also solve existing hybrid pEp model's flaws which have the delay and low rate due to concentrated server. In proposed scheme, mobile agents that have autonomy and mobility are used to search the location of resources. Besides, mobile agents could solve the loss problem of the search result. To improve P2P QoS(Quality of Service), we could monitor peer's state information using PIP(Peer Information Protocol) of JXTA.

  • Peer-to-peer(P2P) has potential strength and possible factors which enable it to develop toward a new business by supplementing the limitation of the existing central server-type network. In various business sectors, various attempts have already been made to apply P2P. The computing power which was possible to be formed through peer-to-peer networking will become a powerful tools for expanding toward new business area depending the utilization methods by sector. Although the technology-centric P2P concept is a major interest now, its development direction will head toward service-centric P2P concept for satisfying desires of end-users(individual peers) for reliable contents and improving their purchasing convenience. But the solution requisites should be solved for the efficient application of P2P to business such as the establishment of and supplement for the industrial standard and legal system for P2P, the enhancement of peers recognition of P2P. Presently e-commerce using P2P is being implemented by a few enterprises locally by means of B2C. But if many enterprises enter this type of e-commerce, and the standardization of peer programmes, goods and documents is made, it will be able to be extended to B2B. Also it seems that it can be utilized in international transactions as well as in domestic transactions. So there is much room for the application of P2P to be extended further. Also there has been presented the necessity for related industries to support their work with theories and for academic studies to be made actively to set the direction of its development. It is hoped that multi-angled and in-depth studies on the utilization of P2P and various attempts to application of it to business be made on the basis of this study. For the development of P2P, continuous study and attempts are needed. The field of P2Ps application is very large and it will become a powerful tool, depending upon its application methods.

  • The growth of Internet technologies and the widespread use of mobile devices have been paving the way for the increasing use of conferencing services. Two types of systems have been designed to provide conferencing services: 1) a conferencing system using session control over a peer-to-peer (P2P) network and 2) an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) conferencing system. The IMS conferencing system was developed to adapt to a server-based centralized system, whereas the benefits of the P2P operational model in providing such conference services are widely acknowledged. However, each system provides conferencing services only to its own users. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an interworking model to support multimedia conferencing service between the P2P environment and IMS networks. We also introduce protocol architecture and some service scenarios. To verify this system model and the design architecture, we perform an actual implementation and show experienced test results.

  • In a super-peer based P2P network, the network is clustered and each cluster is managed by a special peer, which is called a super-peer. A Super-peer has information of all the peers in its cluster. This type of clustered P2P model is known to have efficient information search and less traffic load than unclustered P2P model. In this paper, we compute the message traffic cost incurred by peers' query, join and update actions within a cluster as well as between the clusters. With these values, we estimate the optimal number of super-peers that minimizes the traffic cost for the various size of super-peer based P2P networks.
