The underlying changes in biological processes that are associated with reported changes in mental and physical health in response to yoga breathing ($pr{\bar{a}}n{\bar{a}}y{\bar{a}}ma$) have not been systematically explored yet. In this study, the effects of a yoga breathing program on prefrontal EEG were tested with middle-aged women. Participants were collected as volunteers and controlled into two groups. Two channel EEG was recorded in the prefrontal region (Fp1, Fp2) from the yoga breathing group (n=17) and control group (n=17). QEEG quotients were transformed from the EEGs and analyzed by the ANOVAs on gain scores. As a result, ${\alpha}/{\delta}$ (left, right) and CQ (correlation quotient) for yoga breathing participants were significantly decreased compared to control group (p<.05). ${\alpha}/{\beta}_H+{\alpha}/{\delta}$ (left, right) were increased significantly (p<.05). For those significantly changed QEEG quotients, the interaction effects of Group x prefrontal alpha (${\alpha}$) and beta (${\beta}$) asymmetry were tested. Only the ${\alpha}$ asymmetry showed main effect on the gain score of ${\alpha}/{\beta}_H+{\alpha}/{\delta}$ (right) with F (1, 34)=5.694 (p<.05). Pearson's correlation coefficient between ${\alpha}$ asymmetry and gain score of ${\alpha}/{\beta}_H+{\alpha}/{\delta}$ (right) was .374 (p<.05). The gain score of ${\alpha}/{\beta}_H+{\alpha}/{\delta}$ (right) was increased for the right ${\alpha}$ dominance of yoga breathing group. On the contrary it was decreased for the left ${\alpha}$ dominance of yoga breathing group as well as the control regardless of the dominance. The result of this study implies that yoga breathing increases stress resistance and is effective in the management of physical stress. Emotionally relaxed people may have greater instantaneous stress reduction after yoga breathing. Moreover, yoga breathing could be also beneficial for depressed who may be more vulnerable to stress.

In this paper a nonlinear analysis of three-dimensional steel frames is developed. This analysis accounts for material and geometric nonlinearities. The material nonlinearity includes gradual yielding associated with flexural behaviors. The geometric nonlinearity includes the second-order effects associated with $P-{\delta}\;and\;P-{\Delta}$ effects. The material nonlinearity at the node is considered using the concept of P-M hinge consisting of many fibers. The geometric nonlinearity is considered by the use of stability function. The nonlinearity caused by shear and torsional interaction effects is neglected. The modified incremental displacement method is used as the solution technique. The load-displacements predicted by the proposed analysis compare well with those given by other approaches.
The interaction of benzenesulfonate anion and its derivatives ($C_6H_5SO_3^-, p-$CH_3C_6H_4SO_3^-, and $p-C_2H_5C_6H_4SO_3^-$) with the micellar system of cationic surfactant TTAB(tetradecyltrimethylammonium bromide) was studied by UV/Vis spectrophotometric method. The solubilization constants($K_s$) of benzenesulfonate anions into the micellar phase of this surfactant have been measured with the change of temperature. The effects of additives(n-pentanol and NaBr) on the solubilization of benzenesulfonate anions by this surfactant system have been also measured. There was a great decrease on the values of $K_s$ and CMC simultaneously with these additives so that the measured values of ln$K_s$ were linear relationships with the values of lnCMC. For the thermodynamic study, various thermodynamic parameters(${\Delta}G^0_s$, ${\Delta}H^0_s$ and ${\Delta}S^0_s$) have been calculated and analyzed from the dependence of Ks values on temperature.
The effects of pH and temperature on the removal of two dyes (neutral red; NR and malachite green oxalates; MG) from aqueous effluents using Maghnia montmorillonite clay in a batch adsorption process were investigated. The results showed the stability of the optical properties of MG in aqueous solution and adsorbed onto clay under wide range of pH 3-9. However, the interaction of NR dye with clay is accompanied by a red shift of the main absorption bands of monomer cations under pH range of 3-5, whereas, those of neutral form remains nearly constant over the pH range of 8-12. The optimal pH for favorable adsorption of the dyes, i.e. ${\geq}$90% has been achieved in aqueous solutions at 6 and 7 for NR and VM respectively. The most suitable adsorption temperatures were 298 and 318 K with maximum adsorption capacities of 465.13mg/g for NR and 459.89 mg/g for MG. The adsorption equilibrium results for both dyes follow Langmuir, Freundlich isotherms. The numerical values of the mean free energy $E_a$ of 4.472-5.559 kj/mol and 2.000-2.886 kj/mol for NR and MG respectively indicated physical adsorption. Various thermodynamic parameters, such as ${\Delta}H^{\circ}$, ${\Delta}S^{\circ}$, ${\Delta}G^{\circ}$ and Ea have been calculated. The data showed that the adsorption process is spontaneous and endothermic. The sticking probability model was further used to assess the potential feasibility of the clay mineral as an alternative adsorbent for organic ion pollutants in aqueous solution.
This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of dietary delta-aminolevulinic acid (ALA) on egg production and egg quality in laying hens. A total of 114 (30-wk age) ISA brown commercial hens were used in current trial for 28 days. Dietary treatments included 1) CON (basal diet), 2) 0.05 (basal diet + ALA 0.05%), 3) 0.1 (basal diet + ALA 0.1%) and 4) 0.2 (basal diet + ALA 0.2%). There were four dietary treatments with four replication per treatment and twelve laying hens per replication. During the overall period, egg production was quadratically affected (P=0.01) by ALA supplementation compared with control treatment. Egg weight increased (linear effect, P=0.01; quadratic effect, P=0.01) as the level of delta-aminolevulinic acid supplementation increased in the diets. Yolk color was increased quadratically (P=0.03). The difference of hemoglobin concentration was increased (quadratic effect, P=0.01) as the level of delta-aminolevulinic acid supplementation increased in the diets. In conclusion, the results of the experiment suggest that dietary delta-aminolevulinic acid could affect egg weight, yolk color and hemoglobin concentration in laying hens.

The paper discusses the general behavior of fire-damaged slender reinforced concrete columns on the basis of results obtained from parametric studies. Effects of slenderness ratio, concrete strength, cover thickness, reinforcement ratios, exposed time to fire, and eccentricity on the ultimate capacity of fire-damaged column are theoretically observed. With the increase of slenderness ratio, similar tendency of relative strength reduction was observed between fire-damaged columns and columns at room temperature.
Effects of anodization voltage on frequency characteristics of anodic oxide films on tantalum were analyzed based on the following impedance equatious : (equation omitted) Here $R_{f}$, $C_{f}$ and tan $\delta$$_{f}$ are equivalent series resistance in ohm, equivalent Belies capacitance in farad and dielectric loss, of anodic oxide films respectively Parameters P, $\tau$$_{ο}$, $\tau$$_{\omega}$, and Co are defined as follows: P=(d-w)/w, $\tau$$_{ο}$=$textsc{k}$$\rho$$_{ο}$, $\tau$$_{\omega}$=$textsc{k}$$\rho$$_{\omega}$, $C_{ο}$=$textsc{k}$A/d where d is the thickness of oxide film, $\omega$ is the diffusion layer thickness. $\rho$$_{ο}$ is the resistivity of oxide film at the interface of metal and the oxide, $\rho$$_{\omega}$ is the resistivity of oxide film at intrinsic region and A is the area of the film and $textsc{k}$=0.0885$\times$10$^{-12}$$\times$dielectric constant, (in farad/cm). It was shown that dielectric loss and frequency dependence of equivalent series capacitance decrease as anodization voltage increases. This is a consequence of the fact that the thickness of diffusion layer increases a little with increasing anodization voltage whereas the total oxide thickness is proportional to the anodization voltage. The ngative deviation of measured values from tile relation, tan $\delta$$_{f}$=0.682 $\Delta$$C_{f}$, was also discussed based on the Impedance equations given above. Here $\Delta$$C_{f}$ is the change in capacitance between 0.1 and 1 KHZ.KHZ.Z.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the cellular characterization of phospholipase C-${\delta}1$ in olive flounders (Paralichthys olivaceus). In general, phospholipase C signaling pathways are distributed in nuclei at plasma membranes and in cytoplasms, although the pathways' nuclear localization mechanisms are unclear. P. olivaceus duplicates type-A PoPLC-${\delta}1$ (PoPLC-${\delta}1A$), which has a high similarity to the human isoform PLC-${\delta}$; type-B PoPLC-${\delta}1$ (PoPLC-${\delta}1B$ [Sf]), which has a low similarity to the human isoform PLC-${\delta}$ and the alternative splice variant PoPLC-${\delta}1B$ (Lf), which has a nuclear localization signal (NLS) and a nuclear export signal (NES) for nuclear imports and exports, respectively. This study confirmed the effects of the cellular localization and translocation of GFP-tagged PoPLC-${\delta}1A$, PoPLC-${\delta}1B$ (Sf) and PoPLC-${\delta}1B$ (Lf). It administered treatments of $Ca^{2+}$ ionophore ionomycin and endoplasmic reticulum (ER)-$Ca^{2+}$ pump inhibitor thapsigargin to hirame natural-embryo (HINAE) cells. A laser-scanning confocal microscope was used. GFP-tagged PoPLC-${\delta}1A$ was distributed to the cellular organelles, rather than to the cytoplasms and cytomembranes, when PoPLC-${\delta}1B$ (Lf) and PoPLC-${\delta}1B$ (Sf) were localized at the plasma membranes. The treatments of ionomycin and thapsigargin showed the accumulation of PoPLC-${\delta}1A$ in the nuclei when PoPLC-${\delta}1B$ (Lf) nucleocytoplasmic shuttling and PoPLC-${\delta}1B$ (Sf) nucleocytoplasmic shuttling were not observed. The results were the first evidence that PoPLC-${\delta}1A$, which contains functional, intact NES sequences, has a main role in nucleocytoplasmic shuttling and translocation in fish.
Ab initio calculation is performed to estimate the substituent effects for Para-substituted pyridines. Electrostatic potentials are obtained from ab initio molecular orbital wavefunctions of optimized structures for substituted pyridines. Electrostatic potentials are computed to be minimum at nitrogen atom of pyridines. The potential minima are good correlated with the substituent constants, ${\sigma}_p$ and with the ${\Delta}pKa$. It is shown that the electrostatic potential minima can be used as a measure of substituent effects.
Purpose: We intended to observe the relations between Chiljehyangbuhwan and abdominal & palmar temperature according to primary dysmenorrhea severity. Methods: We selected the 100 primary dysmenorrhea patients by the screening tests (first screening test-inquiry, second screening test-clinical test. additionally WHR (Waist-to-Hip ratio) by Inbody 2.0). By the fixed blocked randomization and double blind method, Chiljehyangbuhwan or placebo was administered for 1 menstration period. Finally, 69 patients remainded. Before and after administration, we measured 4 points abdominal temperature (Chon-jung (CV17), Chung-wan(CV12), Kwan-won(CV4). Chung-guk(CV3)) by DITI(DOREX Inc., USA). And then we checked the difference of temperature $({\Delta}T)$ between CV17 and CV12/CV17 and CV4/CV17 and CV3/CV12 and CV4/CV12 and CV3. Also, we measured 2 points (palmar region, upper front of forearm) for the difference of palmar temperature $({\Delta}T)$. Then, we checked palmar temperature minus upper front of forearm temperature and took an average of right and left ${\Delta}T.$ After that. we compared ${\Delta}T$ with primary dysmenorrhea severity evaluated by VRS (verbal rating scale) and MVRS (multidimensional verbal rating scale). In dysmenorrhea severity. we standardized scale score and 3-group-severity by score (mild, moderate. severe). Besides, we compared palmar ${\Delta}T$ with abdominal ${\Delta}T$. For statistics, we used ANOVA and Spearman's rho correlations. SPSS 13.0 for windows. Results: In case of MVRS, though Chiljehyangbuhwan was correlated to abdominal ${\Delta}T$(CV12 and CV3/CV12 and CV4). it was not correlated to palmar ${\Delta}T$. In case of VRS, though Chiljehyangbuhwan was not correlated to abdominal ${\Delta}T$. it was correlated to palmar ${\Delta}T$. However. palmar ${\Delta}T$ was not correlated to abdominal ${\Delta}T$. Statistically they showed significant result (p<0.05). Conclusion: The primary dysmenorrhea patients showed that severity by MVRS was connected with abdominal ${\Delta}T$ (CV12 and CV3/CV12 and CV4) and severity by VRS was connected with palmar ${\Delta}T$ after Chiljehyangbuhwan administration. So we can consider Chiljehyangbuhwan partially effects the abdominal & palmar temperature according primary dysmenorrhea severity. However, palmar temperature was not correlated to abdominal temperature. Therefore, we need further study.
