외부탄소원을 사용한 SBBR의 공정 특성 및 질소제거 (Evaluation of SBBR Process Performance Focused on Nitrogen Removal with External Carbon Addition)

  • A sequencing batch biofilm reactor (SBBR) operated with a cycle of anaerobic - aerobic - anoxic - aerobic has been evaluated for the nutrient removal characteristics. The sponge-like moving media was filled to about 10% of reactor volume. The sewage was the major substrate while external synthetic carbon substrate was added to the anoxic stage to enhance the nitrogen removal. The operational results indicated that maximum T-N and T-P removal efficiencies were 97% and 94%, respectively were achieved, while COD removal of 92%. The observations of significant nitrogen removal in the first aerobic stage indicated that nitrogen removal behaviour in this SBBR was different to conventional SBR. Although the reasons for aerobic nitrogen removal has speculated to either simultaneous nitrification and denitrification or anoxic denitrification inside of the media, further researches are required to confirm the observation. The specific oxygen uptake rate (SOUR) test with biofilm and suspended growth sludge indicated that biofilm in SBBR played a major role to remove substrates.

이유체 벤츄리형 선회 노즐이 장착된 제트 루프 반응기에서 합성폐수 중의 암모니아 제거특성 (Characteristics of Ammonia Removal from a Synthetic Wastewater in a Jet Loop Reactor with a Two-fluid Venturi-type Swirl Nozzle)

  • 본 연구에서는 합성폐수로부터 암모니아 탈기 시 이유체 벤츄리형 선회 노즐이 장착된 제트 루프 반응기의 성능을 평가하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 이유체 벤츄리형 선회 노즐과 일반 노즐이 장착된 각각의 제트 루프 반응기를 이용하여 조업조건 변화에 따른 암모니아 제거효율과 총괄물질전달계수($K_La$)를 각각 얻은 후, 이를 통해 성능을 비교하였다. 운전변수로는 pH(pH = 10-12), 액체순환유량($Q_L=25-35L\;min^{-1}$), 공기유입량($Q_G=5-20L\;min^{-1}$)을 변화시키며 실험하였다. 실험결과, 동일한 조업조건에서 이유체 벤츄리형 선회 노즐(two-fluid venturi-type swirl nozzle, TVSN)이 장착된 제트 루프 반응기가 이유체 벤츄리형 일반 노즐(two-fluid venturi-type conventional nozzle, TVCN)이 장착된 제트 루프 반응기보다 암모니아 제거효율과 $K_La$가 높게 나타났다. 이와 같은 결과는 이유체 벤츄리형 선회 노즐이 장착된 제트 루프 반응기에서 형성된 선회류 흐름에 의해 난류강도가 이유체 벤츄리형 일반 노즐이 장착된 제트 루프 반응기에 비해 높기 때문이라 판단된다. 또한, 실험조건 범위에서 $K_La$는 pH, 공기유입량 및 액체순환유량이 증가할수록 증가하는 경향을 보였으며, 특히, 실험변수 중 공기유입량이 pH나 액체순환유량에 비해 $K_La$에 미치는 영향이 큰 것으로 나타났다.

  • Samples from the L, F, H and $A_1$ horizons of the Phragmites longivalvis grassland were collected in a delta of the Nakdong River and the removal rates of N, P, K, Ca and Na were investigated. The results obtained in this study can be abstracted as follows; The removal fractions of N, P, K, Ca and Na of the litter were 0.56, 1.22, 1.95, 0.65 and 0.53, respectively. The half times of N, P, K, Ca and Na required for the remove or accumulation of the litter on the grassland floor were 1.23, 0.57, 0.36, 1.06 and 1.32 years, respectively. The increasing order of the turnover parameters of the elements was Na, N, Ca, P and K.

폐수처리에 있어 질산화 공정 인자의 영향 (Effect of Factors of Nitrification Process in Wastewater Treatment)

  • 질산화 미생물은 환경조건에 대단히 민감하여 질산화 영향인자의 변화에 의하여 미생물의 성장과 활동이 좌우되고, 이에 의해 질산화 공정의 성공여부가 좌우된다. 질산화에 영향을 미치는 인자로는 배양온도, pH, 용존산소, 기질량, C/N비, 미생물량 등이 있다. 본 연구에서는 폐수처리장의 활성슬러지를 이용하여 합성폐수의 질산화 공정에 미치는 인자들에 대한 연구를 수행하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 고농도의 암모니아성 질소(100 mg/L 이상)를 함유한 경우에 있어서는 합성폐수의 pH가 초기 8에서 pH 6.8까지 감소하였다. 이는 질산화 과정을 통하여 아질산성 질소와 질산성 질소가 생성되어 합성폐수 중의 pH 변화를 가져온 것으로 판단된다. 질산화 공정에서 각각 초기 암모니아성 질소 농도, 공급공기량, 접종한 활성슬러지 양에 비례해서 일정구간에서는 암모니아성 질소의 제거속도가 증가하였다. 질산화 공정에서 C/N 비의 영향은 일정 C/N 비 범위에서는 탄소원이 존재할수록 초기에 암모니아성 질소의 제거율이 증진되는 결과를 얻었다.

  • To examine the possibility of biomonitoring of heavy metal removal ability and soil, a study was performed to investigate the heavy metal removal ability and metal-binding protein (MBP) as detoxification process using Oenanthe stolonifera. After O. stolonifera was exposed to individuals (cadmium, zinc) and mixture (cadmium+zinc)for 4 days, removal rate of heavy metal and pH in the treatment medium was measured. MBP was assayed by means of ion exchange column chromatography. The exposure to mixture (Cd:76.8%, Zn:75%) rather than individuals (Cd:82.9%, Zn:90.4%) showed a synergism raising the toxic effect. Initial removal rate was different for each heavy metal : in case of exposure to cadmium it was over 60% on day 1, while for zinc it was 75~90% on day 4. Throughout the experimental period, pH value of treatment medium continuously decreased, since cortex in the roots may secret organic acid to adjust and prevent toxicity of metals. The existence or MBP in the 70~80 fraction and the presence of Zn-enzyme pool was ascertained with the column chromatography. This study demonstrated a possibility that heavy utilized as a biomarker of heavy metal pollution.

오존수를 이용한 프로시미돈의 제거 (Removal of Procymidone by Ozonated Water)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effect of ozonated water and ozonated water+hydrogen peroxide treatment of residual procymidone in perilla leaf containing 20 mg/L procymidone. Samples was treated with ozonated water containing 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 mg $O_3/L$ ozone and hydrogen peroxide water containing 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 mg $H_2O_2/L$ hydrogen peroxide in pH 5, 7 and 9, respectively, at $15^{\circ}C$. Procymidone removal rate was 26.5% in 7 days at $15^{\circ}C$ and optimum condition of procymidone removal was the case of treating with ozonated water containing 2.0 mg $O_3/L$ and pH 9. As the result procymidone removal rate was about 96.5%. In this case of adding hydrogen peroxide, optimum condition of procymidone removal was $1:0.5{\sim}1(O_3:H_2O_2)$. However, procymidone was nearly removed with the treatment of hydrogen peroxide water only.

섬모상담체를 이용한 고도처리공정의 운전인자 도출 (Proposed Operating Parameters for Advanced Treatment Process using a Cilium Media BNR Process)

  • The study were conducted in order to investigate the effect of operating parameters including the internal recycle (nitrification return) rates, hydraulic retention times (HRTs) and temperature when using a cilium media method. The first experiment was for evaluating the effect of HRT (12 hr, 10 hr, 8 hr, 6 hr, 4 hr). The second experiment was for analyzing effect of internal recycle rate (100%, 200%, 300%, 400%). As a result of the first experiment, BOD was removed to 97~98% for 6~8 hr HRT. Effluent water quality was not significantly influenced with HRT within that range. However the nitrogen removal was sensitive to HRT. T-P removal efficiency was invariable at various HRTs. The average BOD removal efficiency was about 97% in spite of change of internal recycle rate while T-N removal efficiency was increased at the internal recycle rate of 100~200%, but invariable at the internal recycle rate of 200~300%.

  • Anaerobic Digestion Process is evaluated as efficient wastewater treatment process with the removal of high concentrations of organic waste and production of biogas. This study was performed using hybrid anaerobic hybrid reactor (AHR) which consists of anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) and biofilm-coated filter media was applied for Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) for 80 days to know optimum removal efficiency and production of biogas by comparing each part which divided changing Organic Loading Rate (OLR). As a result of this study, the removal efficiency was 90.4 % when the organic loading rate of influent was 15 kg COD/$m^3$/day. Since organic loading rate was up to 20 kg COD/$m^3$/day, the removal rate declined 80.7%. Over loading of influent caused sludge expansion and overproduction of microorganism. Amount of biogas was collected 82.3 L/day and pH was remained 6.9 constantly with balance of alkalinity.

충진제의 종류에 따른 습식 스크러버의 가스상 물질 제거특성 (Removal Characteristics of Gaseous Contaminants by a Wet Scrubber with Different Packing Materials)

  • Wet scrubber is widely used to remove toxic gaseous contaminants in various industries such as semi-conductor industry, display manufacturing industry and so on. In this study, to optimize a packed bed scrubber as one of typical wet scrubber size while keeping its performance, four different packing materials were investigated at different air flow rates, liquid-gas ratios and pH values. Ammonia, hydrochloric acid and hydrofluoric acid were used as test gases to characterize the scrubber performance. Gas removal efficiency increased as the packing size decreased, which resulted in the increase of specific surface area. The increase of air flow rate led to the decrease of gas removal efficiency, while the increase of liquid-gas ratio led to the increase of gas removal efficiency. For the case of $NH_3$ gas, lower pH, and for the cases of HCl and HF, higher pH contributed to higher gas removal efficiency. Gas removal efficiency of a wet scrubber increased in the order of HCl < $NH_3$ < HF according to its water solubility.

  • This study was designed to investigate the influence of the clasp arm length on the change of retentive force with repeated placement or removal. The author measured the retentive force of Akers clasp and I-bar clasp in the depth of undercut 0.5mm, 0.25mm, respectively, varying the length of clasp arm, that is, 10mm, 14mm, 17mm in Akers clasp and 16mm, 18mm, 20mm in I-bar clasp. The retentive force was measured just before the placement of removal, after 100 times repeated placement or removal, after 300 times repeated placement or removal. The obtained results were as follows : 1. The shorter the clasp arm, the greater retention in Akers clasp and I-bar clasp(p<0.05). 2. There was decreased retentive force of Akers clasp and I-bar clasp after 300 times repeated placement or removal(p.<0.005). 3. The decreasing rate of retentive force in Akers clasp with 10mm was higher than that with 17mm, after 300 times repeated placement or removal, but there was no statistica difference(p>0.05).
