오존산화가 매립지 침출수내 용존성 유기화합물의 생분해도에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Ozone Oxidation on Biodegradability of Dissolved Organic Compounds in the Landfill Leachate)

  • The effect of ozone oxidation on biodegradability of leachate was studied. Ozone oxidation process was used as pre-treatment process to enhance performance of biological process in treating landfill leachate. Optimum ozone dosing rate and contact time in this experiment was $160mg\;O_3/L$ hr and 45 minutes, respectively. Biodegradability was enhanced 5.08% by ozone oxidation. The ratio of ozone demand/DOC concentration was $0.049{\sim}0.091mg\;O_3/mg$ DOC. The increase of biodegradability depending on ozone dosing rate(D) and contact time(T) can be expressed as follows ; ${\Delta}E=0.00479{\cdot}D^{0.773}{\cdot}T^{0.800}$ The biodegradation rate of DOC was increased proportionally with the increase of ozone dosing rate and contact time irrespective of landfill site age. The increase of biodegradability by ozone addition was not satisfactory. It is hard to expect significant increase in biodegradability by ozone treatment only. Thus, it is evaluated that ozone oxidation can not increase biodegradability significantly in concentrated wastewater composed of complex organic compound such as leachate.

오존/활성탄 공정을 이용한 용존 오존 및 페놀의 분해에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Decomposition of Dissolved Ozone and Phenol using Ozone/Activated Carbon Process)

  • 오존/활성탄 공정을 이용하여 페놀을 처리 할 경우, 활성탄에 의해 나타나는 촉매효과에 관한 연구를 수행하였다. 오존 단독공정에 활성탄을 추가할 경우, 활성탄 투입량이 증가할수록 용존 오존 및 페놀의 분해효율이 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 활성탄에 의해서 용존 오존이 분해되어 생성된 수산화 라디칼이 페놀 제거에 영향을 미쳤으며, 본 연구에서는 활성탄의 촉매효과([$\Delta$phenol] / $[{\Delta}O_{3}]_{AC}$)로 나타내었다. 활성탄 10~40 g/L 투입 시, 모든 활성탄의 최대 촉매효과 값은 $2.0\;{\pm}\;0.1$로 나타났지만, 10 g/L와 20 g/L를 투입한 경우, 40 min 경과 후 최대 촉매효과에 근접한 반면, 활성탄 30 g/L와 40 g/L를 투입한 경우, 반응 20 min 경과 후 최대 촉매효과에 도달하였다. 또한 Total Organic Carbon (TOC, 총유기탄소)의 제거율은 오존 단독공정에서 0.23으로 나타났으며, 오존/활성탄 공정에서는 0.63으로 나타났다.

  • Contributions of global warming potentials on CFC(Chlorofluorocarbon) and Ozone were calculated by Stefan-Boltzmann's law and environmental effects of its were discussed. As the greenhouse effect on the unit volume of CFC is the most strong in the infrared gases and the destruction of Ozone in stratosphere is also depends on CFC, therefore release of CFC should be prohibited. But the effect of restriction on CFC will be appeared more than 10 years later. Eventhough the Ozone layer is related to global warming, It should be protected because of maitaining food chain mode of life, preventing human disease, for example, cataract, dermatics etc.

오존을 이용한 수조속의 오염물질 제거특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (A study on sanitary emprical for specific property removal of pollution material inter a water tank by ozone)

  • In this study, the initial number of bacteria before ozone sterilizing shows 290 per $1m{\ell}$ in RUN 1 and RUN 2 equally, but the removal rate shows more than 50% in RUN 1, and 100% in RUN 2 respectively when ozone injection amount is $0.28mg/{\ell}$. It is regarded as a satisfactory result that E-coli concentration without ozone contact is 890, rapid removal effect of E-coli is observed in $0.28mg/{\ell}$ of ozone, and E-coli is removed perfectly in $0.84mg/{\ell}$ of ozone. It is thought that an excellent efficiency is obtained for vibrio alginolyticus because the initial number of bacteria before ozone contact is positive, but it is altered to negative after ozone contact. CODcr shows the tendency which is somewhat reduced as the ozone injection is increased, but the general effect is appeared not so much, and it is thought that the tendency is caused by the reason that sea water contains much salt which is estimated as a component of CODcr, therefore it is regarded that ozone contact has not an important effect on salinity. It is thought that the frequency of changing salt water in the fish preserve of a sliced raw fish restaurant can be reduced to under the standard because NTU of 7 days after sea water injection is 0.70 in the experiment of turbidity, hut more than 50% of turbidity removal efficiency is appeared at $0.28mg/{\ell}$ of ozone injection, and it shows 70% at $0.84mg/{\ell}$ of ozone injection in RUN 1 and RUN 2 commonly.

Effect of Gaseous Ozone Exposure on the Bacteria Counts and Oxidative Properties of Ground Hanwoo Beef at Refrigeration Temperature

  • This study was designed to elucidate the effect of ozone exposure on the bacteria counts and oxidative properties of ground Hanwoo beef contaminated with Escherichia coli O157:H7 at refrigeration temperature. Ground beef was inoculated with 7 Log CFU/g of E. coli O157:H7 isolated from domestic pigs and was then subjected to ozone exposure ($10{\times}10^{-6}kg\;O_3h^{-1}$) at $4^{\circ}C$ for 3 d. E. coli O157:H7, total aerobic and anaerobic bacterial growth and oxidative properties including instrumental color changes, TBARS, catalase (CAT) and glutathione peroxidase (GPx) activity were evaluated. Ozone exposure significantly prohibited (p<0.05) the growths of E. coli O157:H7, total aerobic and anaerobic bacteria in ground beef samples during storage. Ozone exposure reduced (p<0.05) the CIE $a^*$ value of samples over storage time. The CIE $L^*$ and CIE $b^*$ values of the samples fluctuated over storage time, and ozone had no clear effect. Ozone exposure increased the TBARS values during 1 to 3 d of storage (p<0.05). The CAT and GPx enzyme activities were not affected by ozone exposure until 2 and 3 d of storage, respectively. This study provides information about the use of ozone exposure as an antimicrobial agent for meat under refrigerated storage. The results of this study provide a foundation for the further application of ozone exposure by integrating an ozone generator inside a refrigerator. Further studies regarding the ozone concentrations and exposure times are needed.

오존 기상처리방법에 의한 비스코스 레이온의 탈색효과 (Decoloring Effect of Viscose Rayon by Using Vapor Type Ozone Processing)

  • 본 연구는 오존의 강한 산화력을 이용하여 기상의 처리방법에 따른 비스코스 레이온의 탈색효과를 연구하였다. 오존이 발생할 때는 기체상태로 고농도이지만, 수용액 상태로 물에 녹이는 과정에서 기화요인에 의하여 오존의 손실이 많았다. 따라서 기존의 오존처리방법인 수용액상태의 처리방법이 아니라 기상의 오존을 직접 직물에 처리하므로 고농도의 오존을 단시간동안 처리하여 직물에 존재하는 색소를 산화시켜 탈색하는 방법을 사용하였다. 기상의 오존은 직접 유기색소와 반응하지 않기 때문에 물을 매개체로 하여 pick up ratio를 60%, 50%, 40%, 30%, 20%로 변화시키면서 비스코스 레이온의 탈색에 대하여 연구하였다. Pick up ratio가 40%일 때가 유기색소를 분해하는데 필요한 최적의 수산기가 발생하므로 처리포의 탈색효과가 가장 좋았다. 그러나 처리기간이 길수록 너무 과다하게 오존에 의해 산화되므로 강도와 신도의 저하를 초래하였다. 따라서 최적의 기상오존 처리시간은 60분정도에서 처리하는 것이 강도와 신도의 저하를 가장 적게 할 수 있고 백도도 향상시킬 수 있는 것으로 사료된다.

기상 오존처리법을 이용한 견직물의 표백성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Bleaching Properties of Silk Fabric Using Vapor Type Ozone Treatment)

  • We studied on the bleaching properties of silk fabric by vapor type ozone processing using ozone's strong oxidation instead of 28% $H_2O_2$ chemical treatment. When vapor type ozone processing was directly treated to fabrics retaining water to 50~70% pick up ratio, high concentration ozone was generated 14,000ppm(168 mg/h) approximately and finally its bleaching improved. The fabric's bleaching effect was improved because vapor type ozone generated the highest decomposition to oxidation of surface and inter molecules. The experiment revealed that fabric's bleaching was improved by change of the pick-up ratio of vapor type ozone processing. However, tensile strength and elongation were reduced by increase of time, and the time that was assumed as the most optimized time to minimize the reduction of fabric's tensile strength and elongation as well as maximizing the fabric's bleaching was 30 minutes.

오존 농도에 영향을 미치는 주 기상요소의 도출 및 예측모형 수립 (Statistical Analysis of the Meteorological Elements for Ozone and Development of the Simplified Model for Ozone Concentration)

  • In order to analyze the effect of meteorological elements on ozone concentration, we carried out cross-correlation of the elements with ozone concentraton, and time series analysis on them. As a result, it revealed that temperature, wind speed and humidity are not independent variables with ozone concentrations, and also, solar radiation and mixing height are the major elements that affect them. We developed models for ozone with solar radiation and mixing height as dependent variables to verify the effect of major meteorological elements. The predicted ozone concentration has strong correlation coefficients, So, We could conclude that we can predict ozone concentreation only with solar raidation and mixing height as dependents.

오존과 초음파를 이용한 실리콘 웨이퍼의 Post Sliced Cleaning (Post Sliced Cleaning of Silicon Wafers using Ozone and Ultrasound)

  • The effect of ozone and/or ultrasound treatments on the efficiency of slurry removal in post sliced cleaning (PSC) of silicon ingot was studied. Efficiency of slurry removal was evaluated as functions of time, temperature and surfactant with DOE (Design of Experiment) method. Residual slurries were observed on the wafer surface in case of cleaning by ozone or ultrasound separately. However, a clean wafer surface was appeared when cleaned with ozone and ultrasound simultaneously. It has found that cleaning time was the main effect among temperature, time and surfactant. Elevated temperature, addition of surfactant and high ozone concentration helped to accelerate efficient removal of slurry. The improvement of removal efficiency seems to be related to the formation of more active OH radicals. The highly cleaned surface was achieved at 10 wt% ozone, 1 min and 10 vol% surfactant with ultrasound. Application of ozone and ultrasound might be a useful method for PSC process in wafer cleaning.

항공기 객실 내 오존농도의 규제와 적합성 입증방안에 대한 연구 (A study on the regulation and means of compliance for the ozone concentration in the cabin)

  • This study is to identify the hazard of ozone and to evaluate ozone effect that is flowed into the cabin when the airplane is flying at high altitude. For this purpose, it is studied that how ozone is generated in the air, what the effect on human body is due to the cabin ozone and what the design criteria is considering or preventing the ozone hazard. And, finally the regulations and means of compliance are studied and introduced to assure that the aircraft satisfies the design criteria related to ozone.
