  • The investigation of cure kinetics and morphology studies on DGEBA/PEI/Anhydride system were performed by differential scanning calorimetry and scanning electron microscopy. Autocatalystic kinetics model was applied by isothermal scan test. Ozawa method and Kissinger method was applied by temperature scan. Activation energy was 95kJ/mol for neat DGEBA/NMA, 120kJ/mol for DGEBA/PEI(10p.h.r.)/NMA. The generation of secondary phase of PEI was observed and its size was grown up by increasing contents of PEI.

  • A high performance liquid chromatographic procedure is described for the direct determination of the picomole amount of palmitoyl-Coenzyme A and stearoyl-Coenzyme A, using a stainless steel column packed with C-18 derivatized porous silica ($5{\mu}m$), an isocratic elution with a mixture of 33 mM $KH_2PO_4$/acetonitrile as a mobile phase and a UV detector. The long-chain acyl-Coenzyme A esters were determined in incubated microsomal fractions of a bovine liver to demonstrate the utility of this method for monitoring acyl-CoA synthesis in biological samples. The reaction rate of palmitate was higher than that of stearate. After a 60 minute incubation period, the generated amount of palmitoyl-Coenzyme A and stearoyl-Coenzyme A were approximately 70 and 20 n mol/mg micresomal protein, respectively. The advantage of this method are in that no decomposition of the CoA esters is involved, while the constituent molecular species is detected.

  • I introduce the Flexible Dam Operation (FDO) and some of sediment control techniques In dams which are implemented as trials to avoid or reduce environmental impact of dams on the downstream reaches. The FDO is a dam management method to improve river environment in the downstream reaches by means of the flushing flow, the maintenance flow and so on utilizing a vacant portion of capacity for flood control without interrupting prime flood control function during the rainy/typhoon season. It Is suggested by the guideline of the FDO that EDO should be implemented regularly after the trial for about three years. The basic conception of the FDO is described here. The example of excavation of deposited sediments in check dams and placement of sand ana gravel immediately downstream of the dams and the example of coordinated sediment flushing are described as some of sediment control techniques in dams. Now they are at the stage of experiment and trial. Therefore, it is important to increase examples and establish the technical methodology and the environmental evaluation method for them.

  • This study proposed a rapid method to quantify the colonization rate of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) in plant roots. The method involved the use of an image analysis software (WinRHIZO Pro). The colonization rate is defined as the ratio of the fungal body to the plant root area in a micrograph. Three seedlings of Chengiopanax sciadophylloides, a woody species that accumulates radiocesium, were collected from a secondary forest in the Yamakiya district of Kawamata, Fukushima Prefecture during May-September 2014. The colonization of AMF structures was examined under a light microscope, and the percentage of colonization was determined using the WinRHIZO method. The superiority of the new method was verified by comparing with a modified grid-line intersect method. The colonization of AMF was confirmed in all the seedlings, and a significant coefficient of determination ($R^2=0.94$) was found with both the methods. The results suggested that the WinRHIZO method is reliable for estimating the colonization of AMF in C. sciadophylloides.

  • Recently, a great deal of research and development of a fuel cell have been carried out to solve problems on the drain of fossil fuel, air pollution and global warning. In order to improve the efficiency of a fuel cell, it is necessary to clarify the flow in separator. In this study, distributions of velocity flow rate and pressure, and streamlines are examined in detail from numerical analysis with CFD code. In the experiment the distribution of flow rate is measured and flow in the each grooves of the separator is visualized by dye method changing Reynolds number. Furthermore, effects of size of the inlet and outlet manifolds and shape of ribs near the inlet outlet on the distributions of flow and pressure are examined.

  • Ethylammonium-layered aluminosilicates intercalates were prepared by ion exchange reaction between the layered silicates with different layer changes density of 0.32∼0.41 e per unit formula and ethylammonium chloride. A kinetic study on the thermal deintercalation of the ethylammonium-layered silicate intercalates was carried out by range of 350℃ to 480℃ (heating rate of 10℃/min). Based on the Ozawa's method, the activation energies of the thermal deintercalation reaction were estimated as 171.2∼133.0 kJ/mol, which increase linearly with the layer charge densities.

  • In this studies, curing behavior and mechanical properties of tetrafunctional epoxy resin (4EP)/ fluorine-containing epoxy resin (FEP) blend systems was investigated with 4, 4'-diaminodiphenol methane (DDM) as a curing agent. The cure activation energies $(E_a)$) were studied by Flynn-Wall-Ozawa's equation with dynamic DSC method. For the fracture toughness of the casting specimens, the critical stress intensity factor ($K_{IC}$) and the specific fracture energy ($G_{IC}$) were determined by fracture toughness test.

  • In the current research, the curing kinetics of a mixture system consisting of a Bisphenol-A type vinyl ester resin and styrene monomer was studied. Methylethylketone peroxide and cobalt octoate were used as the polymerization initiator and accelerator respectively. Thermograms with several different heating rates were obtained using non-isothermal differential scanning calorimetry. Activation energy values analyzed by the Flynn-Wall-Ozawa isoconversional method showed a three-step change with conversion ${\alpha}$: a slight decrease initially for ${\alpha}$ < 0.1, a constant value of 47.9 kJ/mol in the range 0.1 < ${\alpha}$ < 0.7, and a slow increase for 0.7 < ${\alpha}$. When assuming a constant activation energy of 47.9 kJ/mol, an autocatalytic model of the Sestak-Berggren equation was considered as the proper mathematical model of the conversion function, indicating an overall order of 1.2.
