메탄개질에서의 아크젯 플라즈마의 역할 (Investigation on The Role of Arc-jet Plasma in Methane Reforming)

  • A reaction mechanism of methane partial oxidation, which consists of thermal and plasma chemistry reaction pathways, has been investigated using with an arc-jet reactor. The reaction zone of the arc-jet reactor is spatially separated into thermal and non-thermal plasma zone. Methane conversion rates, selectivity of $H_2$ and $C_2$ chemicals in each zone are obtained, which reveals clearly different characteristics of reaction pathways depending on the temperature conditions. The conversion rates obtained in thermal plasma zone is higher than those in non-thermal plasma zone. The selectivity, however, obtained in non-thermal plasma zone is significantly higher than those in thermal plasma zone. Further parametric study on $O_2/C$ ratio, arc length and SED shows that the present process is mainly governed by thermal chemistry pathways.

구룡광산 광미층의 심도변화에 따른 물리.화학적 및 광물학적 특성 (Physio-chemical and Mineralogical Characterization of the Tailings in the Guryoung Mining Area)

  • 본 연구에서는 구룡광산에 적치된 광미층으로 부터 채취된 대표 비교란 코어시료를 대상으로 체계적인 물리 화학적 및 광물학적 특성을 심도별로 정량적으로 파악, 중금속 거동 핵심 영향요소를 기준으로 광미층 수직분대를 시도하고, 이를 기초로 광미층 비포화대-포화대에 걸친 원소 거동과 지화학적 조건과의 상관모델을 제시하고자 한다. 구룡광산의 대상 광미층은 화학적으로 지하수면을 경계로 상부층 구간에서의 낮은 pH(4)와 20wt.% 이상의 높은 $Fe_2O_3$$SO_3$ 함량에 의해 특징지어진다. 물리 화학적 및 광물학적 분석 자료를 고려하여 구룡광산 광미층을 심도증가에 따라 복토층, jarosite zone, Fe-sulfate zone, Fe-oxyhydroxide zone, gypsum-bearing pyrite zone, calcite-bearing pyrite zone, soil zone(광미층 집적 이전 토양층), weathered zone 등 7개분대로 구분할 수 있으며, 새로 생성된 이차광물상의 특성을 고려할 때 지하수면을 기준으로 상부층을 산화대(oxidation zone)로, 하부층을 비산화대(unoxidation zone), 혹은 carbonate-rich primary zone으로 크게 대분할 수 있다. 본 연구결과를 기초로 구룡광산 광미층의 물리 화학적 및 광물학적 변화를 지하수면 상부층에서의 황화광물, 특히 황철석의 산화반응이 핵심요소가 되어, 이로 인한 pH 값의 감소, 일차광물의 용해반응 및 원소 용출, 이차광물상 생성, 그리고 생성된 산의 탄산염 및 규산염광물에 의한 산-중화반응 등 일련의 지화학적 반응으로 설명할 수 있다.

  • This study has been performed to investigate into the internal oxidation characteristics of low carbon steel with respect to the added amount of air in nitrogen-propane atmosphere after gas carburizing for various times at $930^{\circ}C$. The results obtained from the experiment are as follows ; (1) Optical micrographs have shown that the internal oxidation is unlikely to occur in the gas atmosphere without air and that oxidized zone in the outer surface layer is formed in the gas atmosphere with air revealing that the depth of oxidized zone increases with increasing the added amount of air. (2) The formation of internally oxidized zone in the outer surface layer has been found to be inhibited as Ni content increases, i. e, the amount of alloying element increases. (3) The depth of oxidation has been measured to increase with almost parabolically gas carburizing time of up to 6 hours.

CMC 모델 기반 수치해석을 사용한 순산소 난류확산화염 구조 연구 (A Study on the Structure of Turbulent non-Premixed Oxy-fuel Flame Using CMC Model-based Simulation)

  • Oxy-fuel flame has a significantly different structure from that of air-fuel flame because of its high temperature. This study is aimed to find out the difference of the oxy-fuel flame structure in order to understand reaction mechanism closely, which is crucial to design real-scale oxy-fuel combustion system. By examining pictures of counterflow flame and LIF images, we found that oxy-fuel flame had two-zone structure: fuel decomposition region and distributed CO oxidation region. In the oxy-fuel flame, OH radical was distributed intensely through the whole flame due to its higher flame temperature than crossover temperature. For showing those features of the oxy-fuel flame, 1 MW scale IFRF oxy-natural gas burner was simulated by conditional moment closure(CMC) model. Calculation results were compared with experimental data, and showed agreements in trend. In the simulated distributions of fuel decomposition/CO oxidation rates, CO oxidation region was also separated from fuel decomposition zone considerably, which showed the two-zone structure in the oxy-fuel flame.

일방향 응고 CM247LC 초내열합금의 크리프 조건에서 표면 산화와 연계된 γ'-석출 고갈 지역 및 γ' 조대화 (γ'-Precipitation Free Zone and γ' Rafting Related to Surface Oxidation in Creep Condition of Directionally Solidified CM247LC Superalloy)

  • This study used optical and scanning electron microscopy to analyze the surface oxidation phenomenon that accompanies a γ'-precipitate free zone in a directional solidified CM247LC high temperature creep specimen. Surface oxidation occurs on nickel-based superalloy gas turbine blades due to high temperature during use. Among the superalloy components, Al and Cr are greatly affected by diffusion and movement, and Al is a major component of the surface oxidation products. This out-diffusion of Al was accompanied by γ' (Ni3Al) deficiency in the matrix, and formed a γ'-precipitate free zone at the boundary of the surface oxide layer. Among the components of CM247LC, Cr and Al related to surface oxidation consist of 8 % and 5.6 %, respectively. When Al, the main component of the γ' precipitation phase, diffused out to the surface, a high content of Cr was observed in these PFZs. This is because the PFZ is made of a high Cr γ phase. Surface oxidation of DS CM247LC was observed in high temperature creep specimens, and γ'-rafting occurred due to stress applied to the creep specimens. However, the stress states applied to the grip and gauge length of the creep specimen were different, and accordingly, different γ'-rafting patterns were observed. Such surface oxidation and PFZ and γ'-rafting are shown to affect CM247LC creep lifetime. Mapping the microstructure and composition of major components such as Al and Cr and their role in surface oxidation, revealed in this study, will be utilized in the development of alloys to improve creep life.

STS 304, 316강의 열처리에 따른 산화거동 (An Oxidation Behavior with Heat-treatment in STS 304 and 316)

  • An oxidation behavior of 304 and 316 stainless steels were studied in dry air. After solution treatment, specimens were polished up to $1{\mu}m$ $A1_2O_3$ grade and then subjected to oxidation treatment in dry air at $800^{\circ}C{\sim}1200^{\circ}C$. The oxidation behavior between matrix and oxide scale was analyzed with SEM, EDS and XRD. When oxidation treatment was conducted at $1200^{\circ}C$, large thickness of Fe oxide scale was formed on top of surface and fine $(Cr,Fe)_2O_3$ oxide film was formed below it. Cr rich zone existed at interface between metal and $(Cr,Fe)_2O_3$ oxide layer, and it was believed that this zone acted as obstacle to oxidation. Most of Ni was detected at the interface between metal and $(Cr,Fe)_2O_3$ and also detected at the interface between $Fe_2O_3$ and $(Cr,Fe)_2O_3$.

  • With the rapid growth of the die and mold, the new die making method has been developed. Especially, the laser is very useful, because it has a very fast cutting speed and is possible to manufacture complicated geometry. The quality of the laser cut is to be evaluated with respect to some characteristic quality parameters such as kerf width geometry, roughness and heat affected zone. This paper describes the laser cut characteristic(heat-affected zone) of the alloy tool steels(STD11) and the prediction of the kerf width genmetry by the FEM. On using the oxidation heat and laser beam, the prediction of kerf geometry is more accurate than that only by the laser beam. After laser cutting, the heat-affected zone is generated on the cutting cross section. The magnitude of hardness on the cutting cross section was similar to that of the heat treatment. It was possible to predict heat-affected zone by using the FEM program.

암모니아 용출에 의한 산화대 금 광석으로부터 Fe 제거 효율에 관한 연구 (The Efficiency of Fe Removal Rate from Gold Ore in the Oxidation Zone by Ammonia Leaching)

  • 산화대 금 광석에 존재하는 적철석을 암모니아 용액을 이용하여 제거하여 금과 은의 회수율을 향상시키고자 하였다. 산화대에는 석영, 적철석, 백운모가 존재하고 있으며, 적철석은 수성기원으로 형성되었다. 다양한 변수에 대하여 암모니아 용출실험을 수행한 결과, Fe 최대 용출 인자는 $-45{\mu}m$ 입도 크기, 1.0 M의 황산 농도, 5.0 g/l의 황산암모늄 농도 그리고 2.0 M의 과산화수소 농도일 때였다. 이 암모니아 용출용액으로부터 침철석이 침전-형성되는 것을 확인하였으며, 고체-잔류물에서 Fe-제거량이 증가할수록 Au와 Ag 회수율이 증가하였다.

${CO}_2$ gas및 공기중에서 피치계 탄소섬유의 산화거동 (The Oxidation Behavior of Pitch based Carbon Fibers in ${CO}_2$ Gas and Air)

  • 이방성과 등방성을 갖는 두 종류의 피치계 탄소섬유를 TGA장치를 이용하여 $CO_{2}$gas와 공기중에서 등온산화반응을 실시하였다. $CO_{2}$ gas보다 공기중에서의 산화가 훨씬 빠르게 일어났으며, $600^{\circ}C$공기중에서 등방성 T-10IS섬유는 이방성 HM-60섬유보다 23.9배나 빠른 산화속도를 보였다. 실험적으로 구한 활성화에너지를 저온에서 36-56Kcal/mole의 값을 가지며, 고온에서는 6-13Kcal/mole의 값을 나타내었다. 반응기구(zone 1,2,3)의 천이도는 T-10IS섬유보다 HM-60 섬유가 높았으며, 공기중에서보다 $CO_{2}$ gas분위기에서 더 높게 나타났다. SEM으로 관찰된 표면상변화로부터 탄소섬유의 산화반응은 섬유의 결함을 따라 진행된다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

고온 노출 니켈기 초내열합금 터빈 블레이드의 Cr/Ti/Al 성분이 고온 산화에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Cr/Ti/Al Elements on High Temperature Oxidation Behavior of a Ni-Based Superalloy with Thermal Exposure)

  • High-temperature oxidation of a Ni-based superalloy was analyzed with samples taken from gas turbine blades, where the samples were heat-treated and thermally exposed. The effect of Cr/Ti/Al elements in the alloy on high temperature oxidation was investigated using an optical microscope, SEM/EDS, and TEM. A high-Cr/high-Ti oxide layer was formed on the blade surface under the heat-treated state considered to be the initial stage of high-temperature oxidation. In addition, a PFZ (γ' precipitate free zone) accompanied by Cr carbide of Cr23C6 and high Cr-Co phase as a kind of TCP precipitation was formed under the surface layer. Pits of several ㎛ depth containing high-Al content oxide was observed at the boundary between the oxide layer and PFZ. However, high temperature oxidation formed on the thermally exposed blade surface consisted of the following steps: ① Ti-oxide formation in the center of the oxide layer, ② Cr-oxide formation surrounding the inner oxide layer, and ③ Al-oxide formation in the pits directly under the Cr oxide layer. It is estimated that the Cr content of Ni-based superalloys improves the oxidation resistance of the alloy by forming dense oxide layer, but produced the σ or µ phase of TCP precipitation with the high-Cr component resulting in material brittleness.
