여행경험이 직장인의 근로의욕과 행복감에 미치는 영향 (Impact of travel experience on employee's happiness and motivations to work)

  • 본 연구는 여행경험이 직장인의 근로의욕과 행복감에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 대구광역시, 경상남도, 경상북도의 직장인 남녀 405명을 대상으로 SPSS Statistics 18.0 프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였다. 첫째, 연구대상자의 일반적 특성에 따른 여행경험은 성별, 학력, 직업에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었으나 연령, 결혼여부, 평균소득에서는 유의한 차이가 없었다. 둘째, 국내여행 횟수에 따라 여행경험은 차이가 있었으나, 체류기간에는 차이가 없었다. 반면, 국외여행 횟수에 따른 여행경험은 하위요인인 관계적 경험만 유의한 차이가 있었다. 그리고 국외여행은 체류 기간에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었다. 셋째, 여행경험은 직장인의 근로의욕과 행복감에 유의한 정(+)적인 상관관계가 나타났다. 넷째, 여행경험이 직장인의 근로의욕과 행복감에 미치는 영향을 살펴본 결과, 여행경험의 하위요인인 감각적, 행동적, 관계적 경험이 근로의욕에 유의한 영향을 미쳤고, 감성적, 인지적 경험은 유의한 영향을 미치지 않았다. 그리고 여행경험의 하위요인인 감성적, 인지적, 행동적 경험이 행복감에 유의한 영향을 미쳤고, 감각적, 관계적 경험은 무의미하였다. 이상의 연구결과를 보면, 여행경험은 직장인에게 행복감을 주며, 이는 근로에 대한 긍정적인 의식과 의욕을 높여준다고 볼 수 있다.

  • 1989년 국외여행자유화가 시행된 이후 국외여행사수와 국외여행객수는 빠른 속도로 증가하고 있다. 국외여행의 출발부터 도착까지 여행 전 일정에 관여하는 국외여행인솔자의 자질은 여행객의 여행만족에 중요한 요소로서 인식되어지고 있다. 이 연구는 여행객의 여행만족에 영향을 미치는 국외여행인솔자의 자질에 관한 분석에 초점을 두고 있다. 몇몇 자질요인평가에 여행객과 여행업종사자 사이에는 그 중요도 인식에 다소 차이가 있는 것으로 분석결과 나타났지만 여행객만족에 국외여행인솔자의 역할이 중요하다는 인식에는 두 집단 모두 동의하는 것으로 조사되었다. 이러한 분석결과를 근거하여 국외여행인솔자는 여행객과 업계가 요구하는 자질개발이 필요하다.

A Study on the Status and Prospects of Korean Female Travelers in Outbound Travel Market from Service Trade Point of View

  • Services could move over the world where they want to go. Especially, travel services shared 29.4 percent of total world exports, 625 billion dollars in 2004 (WTO, 2005). Tourism is a very important sector in service trade in the world. Of developing countries, Korea has been experiencing remarkable development in female outbound travel market since the complete liberalization on overseas travels in 1989, with about 3.85 million travelers in 2005, 2,000 percent growth rate over 1988. It means woman's social status has been increasing in Korea. Especially, in the study young housekeepers, solely office ladies, and college students were described as very important market segments in Korean woman outbound travel market. They were not only major decision makers, but also executors because of both enough economic power and social status improvement on small sized family. This study indicated that woman outbound travel market gets larger because their buying power and status are going to go improved in Korean social system. It is recommended that marketers be worth watching Korean woman travellers as a major target market through continuos observation and analysis.

쇼핑정보원 활용에 따른 해외여행자 시장세분화 및 세분시장 특성 연구 (Tourism Market Segmentation Based on Shopping Information Sources)

  • This study confirmed the types of shopping information sources during travel abroad, and developed a profile of tourists in terms of demographics, travel, and shopping behavior. Shopping information sources and characteristics of shopping products were identified first. Thereafter, travelers were segmented by their information-seeking behavior. An online survey method was used to get data from Korean vacationers in their 20s-50s, while factor analysis, cluster analysis, ${\chi}^2$ test and ANOVA were applied to analyze data. The results were as follows. First, the shopping information sources of overseas tourists were composed of four factors including sources from travel agents/media, information from travel books and local sources, and word-of-mouth sources. Also, four factors in product types and four product attributes were identified. Second, tourists were clustered into two groups, active and passive shopping information seekers, based on shopping source behavior. Third, two groups differed in terms of demographics, showing an older age and higher income for active shopping source seekers. Active shopping information users tended to join package trips with family members, and they were more satisfied with the trip. With regard to shopping, active shopping source seekers spent more money for shopping and preferred all kinds of shopping goods with an emphasis on travel shopping. In conclusion, shopping information sources seemed to be a meaningful tool for segmenting tourists. Rich, older, family tourists would be an major target market for local retailers.

Sources of Infection Among Confirmed Cases of COVID-19 in Jeju Province, Korea

  • Objectives: Jeju Province in Korea reported 627 coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases between January 20, 2020, and March 31, 2021. This study analyzed the sources of infection among confirmed cases in Jeju Province, a self-governed island. Methods: The sources of infection were broadly categorized as follows: (1) infections from overseas (confirmed patients who reported travel overseas or contact with overseas travelers); (2) infections from outside Jeju Province (confirmed patients who had visited other provinces or had contact with individuals who had traveled to other provinces in Korea); and (3) unknown sources of infection (confirmed patients who were infected following contact with an infected person whose source of infection was unknown). The chi-square test was used to analyze the differences in the distributions of related variables for each source of infection. Results: Of the 627 confirmed cases, 38 (6.1%) were infections from overseas sources, 199 (31.7%) were from outside of Jeju Province, and 390 (62.2%) were from unknown sources. Jeju Province had no cases with an unknown source of infection during the first and second waves of the nationwide outbreak. Conclusions: Infections from overseas sources could be blocked from spreading to local communities in Jeju Province by conducting screening at the airport, along with the preemptive suspension of visa-free entry. In addition, considering the scale of the nationwide outbreak, measures must be established to delay outbreaks from unknown sources of infection caused by sources outside Jeju Province.

  • 현대는 국내여행 뿐만 아니라 국외여행도 쉽고 빠르게 다닐 수 있는 시대가 되었다. 그로인해 점점 여행을 즐기는 사람들이 늘어났다. 하지만 처음 가본 장소에서는 길을 잃기 쉽고 해외의 경우 현지 언어를 구사할 능력이 되지 못하면 도움을 받는 것 또한 어렵기 때문에 처음 가본 장소에서 쉽게 길을 찾을 수 있는 도구를 개발하려고 한다. 이전에는 군사용으로 사용되던 드론이 현재는 일반인들도 쉽고 조작이 간편하여 안전하게 즐길 수 있게 되었다. 드론은 활용분야 또한 폭 넓기 때문에 이번에 드론을 사용하여 길을 찾아주는 드론 네비게이션을 개발하려고 한다. 구글맵을 이용하여 사용자가 가고 싶은 목적지를 설정하면 사용자와 일정 거리를 유지한 채로 목적지를 향하여 날아가도록 만드는 것이 목적이다.

문화차이가 해외여행 시장에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구: 한·중·미·일 비교를 중심으로 (The Study on the Effect of Cultural Difference on Overseas Travel Market: A Comparison among Korea, China, U.S. and Japan)

  • 본 연구는 한 중 미 일 참가자를 대상으로 해외여행과 관련한 오프라인-온라인 설문을 실시 총 707개의 유효한 표본을 수집하고 이를 분석하였다. 이를 통해, 아시아 국가의 경우, 권력거리와 유인동기간 유의한 인과관계와 전체주의와 추진동기 사이에 유의한 인과 관계가 존재함을 밝혀냈다. 즉, 아시아 국가의 관광 전략은 다양한 이벤트와 볼거리를 제공하고 친목 단체 간 유대를 강화하는 상품을 개발하는 것이 유리한 반면, 미국인의 경우, 과시적 상품보다는 실질적 여행 계획을 통한 개인 맞춤형 상품으로 자기만족을 극대화시키는 것이 더욱 효과적이라는 결론을 내렸다. 본 연구는 설문조사를 통한 전형적인 탐색적 분석 방식을 취하여 설문 참가자의 다양한 의견을 제약하는 한계점이 있지만, 홉스테드의 문화차원지수, 동기이론, 고객만족과 재방문 의도에 관한 이론을 활용한 학제적 공헌과 함께 각 국가 간 문화 성향을 동시 비교함으로써 해외여행 상품에 대한 최적의 마케팅 전략을 제시한 실질적 시사점이 있다.

  • In commemoration of Vol. 30, Issue 1, our journal prepares four review articles and two original papers. The first review article provides guidelines for medical treatment for emergencies in an aircraft furing flight. This guideline addresses the resources and medical equipment available to physicians on board, common medical conditions, how to deal with them, including legal issues. The second review article covers historically meaningful animals that have contributed to aerospace research and the role of a veterinarian. The third one describes cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, and vestibular physiological effects of microgravity on the human body. As we are about to enter an aging society, the fourth review article introduces guidelines for safe overseas travel for senior passengers. The role of the aviation medical examiner is to maintain aircrew's health and to help them work long and healthy. In this regard, Choi et al. analyzed the physical examination data and sick leave data of an airline. Han et al. investigated the aerospace medical examination data of the Republic of Korea and suggested a solution to some common health problems of the crew.

인천국제공항 이용 중국여객의 권역별 서비스 인식 및 행동특성에 관한 연구 (Study of Regional Differences Between Attitudes Toward Service and Behavior of Chinese Passengers Using Incheon International Airport)

  • Ever since the permission of overseas travel by the Chinese government in 1983, the Chinese outbound travel market has been growing at an expanding rate. The Republic of Korea has been able to reap great benefits from this growth, and this has been noticeable especially in the aviation market. Chinese passengers count for 23.9% of the total passengers at Incheon International Airport (IIA), and it is no doubt Chinese passengers will remain important customers for IIA. Given the fact that China has such a huge territory and possesses a population of more than 1.3 billion, there rises the need to divide China into smaller regions. By doing so, the different thoughts Chinese passengers have, and the actions they show in terms of travel and airport service consumption according to differing regions can be figured out. With knowledge of the differences, IIA can provide different services to fit Chinese passengers from differing regions, hence increasing the total consumer value and satisfaction rate of IIA. This study has divided China into 5 different regions according to official regional recognition of China, and difference of economical, social factors, etc... With the results obtained from this study, different strategies can be implemented for the 5 regions.

해외투자 한인기업 노사관계의 현지화: 미원인도네시아 사례연구 (Localization of Labor Relations in Overseas Korean Company: A Case Study of PT. Miwon Indonesia)

  • Localization of overseas Korean companies has been regarded as one of vital tasks or strategies for decades. However, labor relations have not been the main object of Korean academic researchers. In this paper, I attempt to analyze strategies of localization in labor relations adopted by overseas Korean companies through a qualitative case study of PT. Miwon Indonesia, which has run business successfully for 40 years with recently achieved industrial peace. The company minimized Korean staffs and maximized Indonesian staffs. It pays more than minimum wage, and observes labor law when using outsourcing workers. The managers of the company recognize their labor union as management partner and support union activities through paying bonus for the union head and travel allowances for solidarity gatherings. There is no discrimination between plural unions. Furthermore, collective bargaining is led by indigenous managers according to the musyawarah, a local principle of bargaining. Therefore, PT. Miwon Indonesia could be regarded as a forerunner of localization in labor management among Korean companies in Indonesia. Miwon's case will serve a useful reference when discussing localization of labor management strategies.
