  • KEPCO constructed the first 765kV 2 circuit transmission line in the world with its home grown technologies. Through this 765kV transmission system project, KEPCO accumulated experience and technologies related to the 765 kV power system. Based on the successful completion of the 765kV transmission project, KEPCO is conducting overseas business by using its abundant experience and know-how. In particular, KEPCO developed the training course for power system, called the ATT (Advanced Transmission Technology) training courses for overseas business, especially for developing countries. Therefore, KEPCO developed the "Transmission line design system for overseas projects". This system supports the calculation of wind pressure load, tower design, wire selection, insulation design, etc. by applying the meteorological data of foreign countries and design standards. And this system is applied to the training program so that the trainees can design the optimal transmission line for their own countries.

  • PURPOSES: Used in transportation planning and traffic engineering, almost traffic simulation tools have input variable values optimized by overseas traffic flow attribution because they are almost developed in overseas country. Thus, model calibration appropriated for internal traffic flow attribution is needed to improve reliability of simulation method. METHODS : In this study, the traffic flow model calibration is based on expressways. For model calibration, it needs to define each expressway link according to attribution, thus it is classified by design speed, geometric conditions and number of lanes. And modified greenshield model is used as traffic flow model. RESULTS : The result of the traffic model calibration indicates that internal congested density is lower than overseas. And the result of analysis according to the link attribution indicates that the more design speed and number of lanes increase, the lower the minimum speed, the higher the congested density. CONCLUSIONS: In the traffic simulation tool developed in overseas, the traffic flow is different as design speed and number of lanes, but road segment don't affect traffic flow. Therefore, these results need to apply reasonably to internal traffic simulation method.

  • This study investigated the general trends and differences in the working life of overseas Korean women. The subjects were 872 working Korean women over 20 years of age living abroad in America, China, and Russia Central Asia. The subjects completed a questionnaire on working life and the data were analyzed using SPSS. The working environment of Korean-American women was not stable. Many Korean-American women worked to help the home economy. They were paid by the hour, day and week. On the other hand, many Korean-Chinese women worked for self-achievement and usually for 8 hours a day. The working life of Korean women in Russia Central Asia was not good. They had a small income and worked to help the home economy. The first variables for changing their occupation were income and bonus. Despite their unstable working environment, overseas Korean women estimated their working life positively. They rated scores higher than the median on job satisfaction, business importance, duty ability, duty adaptation and family support. Job stress showed lower scores than the median. Korean women in Russia Central Asia showed lower scores on job satisfaction, family support, and work time flexibility than the other two groups.

  • The purpose of this study is to survey of Korean costume cultural assets in overseas museum collections. Cultural Assets represent the cultural heritage. Also costume is one of cultural assets. In 1980's the Korean government and scholars surveyed Korean cultural assets. One of their finding was that Korean objects exists some countries. Unesco delared that cultural assets illegally taken a way to foreign countries should be returned to their nations. However, few objects had been returned to korea. Today museum professional designing their exhibited and collections try to both enlighten experts and instruct and please amateur enthusiasts. Exhibitions are one of the most effective means of stimulating interest in cultural objects and ideas : they reflect prevailing cultural , intellectural and political trends. The 1893 Chicageo Exposition was the first international exhibition in which Korea has ever taken part. Overseas museum held many Asian exhibitions however Korean exhibitions have been held much less frequently than those of most other Asian countries. (China, and Japan). Some of Korean art Collection have historical and artistic valuable , most overseas museum' collection are of low value and non-informative . Several museums in United States that have Korean costume : some of these museums have highly valuable historical and contextural objects. It is my hope that the information in this paper will be of use for those interested in learning more about Korean culture.

  • This paper studies the influence of the bilateral expansion of Korean and Chinese banks on performance. To conduct the empirical analysis, we select eleven Banks in South Korea and thirteen Banks in China over the 2000-2014 time frame. The main regression results are as followed. First, the sample bank's overseas subsidiaries have a significant effect on profitability and the profitability is somewhat deteriorates. Second, the sample bank's overseas branch and subsidiaries have a significant effect on the bank's risk. That is, the loan loss provision ratio is slightly increased but impaired loan ratio is highly decreased. Third, the sample banks' overseas branch and subsidiaries also have a significant effect on bank efficiency. The ratio of customer deposits per employee worsens somewhat but the gross loan per employee are increased. In conclusion, as time passes, bank profitability or efficiency from mutual expansion of Korean banks and Chinese banks seem to be improving somewhat, and this phenomenon is more prominent at Korean banks than at Chinese banks.
