For reporting national greenhouse gas inventory in forest sector, the forest growing stock from the National Forest Inventory (NFI) system has used as activity data sources. The National Forest Inventory system was changed from rotation system by province to annual system by 5 years across the country. The forest growing stocks based on the new inventory system produced a different trend compared to the previous estimations. This study was implemented to recalculate previous forest growing stocks for time series consistency at a national level. The recalculation of forest growing stock was conducted in an overlap approach by the IPCC guideline. In order to support the more consistency data, we used calibration factors between applied stand volumes in 1985 and 2012, respectively. As a result, the time series of recalculated forest growing stock was to be consistency using the overlap approach and the calibration factor with the lower middle/middle site index. According to the applied overlap period, however, we will recalculate activity data using more complete data from national forest inventory system.

Overlap Maximization is a sampling technique to reduce survey costs and costs associated with the survey. It was first studied by Keyfitz(1951). Ernst(1998) presented a remarkable procedure for maximizing the overlap when the sampling units can be selected for two identical stratified designs simultaneously, But the approach involves mimicking the behaviour of nonlinear function by linear function and so it is less direct, even though the stratification problem for the overlap corresponds directly to the linear programming problem. furthermore, it uses the controlled selection algorithm that repeatedly needs zero-restricted controlled roundings, which are solutions of capacitated transportation problems. In this paper we suggest a comparatively simple procedure to use linear programming in order to maximize the overlap. We show how this procedure can be implemented practically.
For the last twenty years fragment assembly in DNA sequencing followed the "overlap - layout - consensus"paradigm that is used in all currently available assembly tools. Although this approach proved to be useful in assembling clones, it faces difficulties in genomic shotgun assembly: the existing algorithms make assembly errors and are often unable to resolve repeats even in prokaryotic genomes. Biologists are well-aware of these errors and are forced to carry additional experiments to verify the assembled contigs. We abandon the classical “overlap - layout - consensus”approach in favor of a new Eulerian Superpath approach that, for the first time, resolves the problem of repeats in fragment assembly. Our main result is the reduction of the fragment assembly to a variation of the classical Eulerian path problem. This reduction opens new possibilities for repeat resolution and allows one to generate error-free solutions of the large-scale fragment assemble problems. The major improvement of EULER over other algorithms is that it resolves all repeats except long perfect repeats that are theoretically impossible to resolve without additional experiments.
Purpose Online platform companies can increase the spread of content by communicating with users who have diverse preferences through social networks. Previous studies show the mixed effect on the network overlap, and there was a limited examinations for the underlying mechanism. This study expects high academic and practical implications that can be provided by studying on the user's viewership network. The purpose of this research is to examine the effects of network overlap on the users' viewership for creators of user-generated content in YouTube. We explain the direct and in-direct effects through the content sharing and the valence of user ratings. Design/methodology/approach The data contains 45 channels and 4,085 video clips from YouTube. We control the effect of the categories, channel characteristics, and vide clip characteristics on the viewership. PROCESS macro were used to analyze the direct and in-direct effects of network overlap. Findings The analysis results showed that the network overlap directly affect on the users' viewership. The variable decreases the moderators (i.e., content sharing and the valence of user ratings). This result implies that the users can not satisfy their need for uniqueness which is achieved by content sharing and rating in the overlapped network.
We introduce an understanding of silver (Ag) inkjet overlap-printing characteristics from the viewpoints of cohesion between ink droplets and adhesion between an ink droplet and a surface. The printing characteristics were closely monitored by changing the surface energy to elucidate the effect of adhesion and cohesion on printing instability, such as droplet merging and line bulging. The surface energy of the substrate was changed through the hydrophilization of a hydrophobic fluorocarbon-coated surface. The surface energy and ink wettability of the prepared surfaces were characterized using sessile drop contact angle analysis, and printing instability was observed using an optical microscope after drop-on-demand inkjet printing with a 50% overlap in diameter of deposited singlet patterns. We found that the surface energy is not an appropriate indicator based on the experimental results of Ag ink printing on a hydrofluoric-treated silicon surface. The analytical approach using adhesion and cohesion was helpful in understanding the instability of the inkjet overlap-printing, as adhesion and cohesion represent the direct interfacial relationship between the Ag inks used and the substrate.

A study on the interference effects of overlapping tandem rotors in forward flight is conducted using the time-marching free-wake panel method which adopts field velocity boundary integral formulation. The conventional boundary integral formulation is numerically unstable for the cases when the blade and the wake are in close proximity to each other. In order to avoid this problem, this study applies the field velocity method and modifies the boundary integration formulation. The improved method is used for the parametric study on the advance ratio and the distance between the rotors. These are the parameters that most affect the interference of the tandem rotor in forward flight. Comparison of the aerodynamic performance shows that the horizontal distance between the rotors negligibly influences the overlap-induced power factor for high advance ratio. In addition, it shows that the overlap-induced power factor is inversely proportional to the squared vertical distance between the rotors, and that the overlap-induced power factor increases to a certain extent and decrease back as the advance ratio increases.
Speech unit concatenation with a large database is presently the most popular method for speech synthesis. In this approach, the mismatches at the unit boundaries are unavoidable and become one of the reasons for quality degradation. This paper proposes an algorithm to reduce undesired discontinuities between the subsequent units. Optimal matching points are calculated in two steps. Firstly, the fullback-Leibler distance measurement is utilized for the spectral matching, then the unit sliding and the overlap windowing are used for the waveform matching. The proposed algorithm is implemented for the corpus-based unit concatenating Korean text-to-speech system that has an automatically labeled database. Experimental results show that our algorithm is fairly better than the raw concatenation or the overlap smoothing method.
Recombinant Lactobacillus strains have been constructed using gene splicing by overlap extension (SOE). Primers were designed of which one end of an amplified product contained complementary sequences for an end of other amplified fragment. For efficient matching, we used an asymmetric PCR step that was effective at generating an excess of strands that would anneal in the final PCR. CP12, a recombinant fragment consisting of the integrase gene and attachment site of the bacteriophage A2, was constructed and inserted into the genome of Lactobacillus casei ATCC 393, yielding Lb. casei ATCC 393::XCP12. Another recombinant Lb. casei strain was constructed, where the egfp gene was a part of the construction. The EGFP produced from Lb. casei ATCC 393::XCEGFP14 was detected by Western blot hybridization. This simple and widely applicable approach has significant advantages over standard recombinant DNA techniques for Lactobacillus species.
The vehicle development process (VDP) is iterative in nature with numerous interactions and information flows between design groups and between development phases. The VDP has been changed from a sequential-functional development to a concurrent-team based approach. Concurrent execution of design activities may reduce the development lead-time, but it increases the managerial complexity in the VDP. A system dynamics model was developed to understand the transient behavior of parallel, overlap, and sequential processes in the VDP and to determine the optimal level of overlapping considering the development lead-time and total number of reworks. The simulation results showed that different execution processes should be used, depending upon the intensity of reworks.
