In medium voltage electrical distribution networks, reforming the loss reduction is important, and in line with this, the issue of system engineering and use of proper equipment Expansion of distribution systems results in higher system losses and poor voltage regulation. Therefore, an efficient and effective distribution system has become more important. So, proper selection of conductors in the distribution system is crucial as it determines the current density and the resistance of the line. Evaluation of aging conductors for losses and costs imposed in addition to the careful planning of technical and economic networks can be identified in the network design. In this paper the use of imperialist competitive algorithm; genetic algorithm; is proposed to optimal branch conductor selection and reconstruction in radial distribution systems planning. The objective is to minimize the overall cost of annual energy losses and depreciation on the cost of conductors to improve productivity given the maximum current carrying capacity and acceptable voltage levels. Simulations are carried out on 69-bus radial distribution network using genetic algorithm approaches to show the accuracy as well as the efficiency of the proposed solution technique.

The natural high productivity of temperate coastal waters in Korea can be used in advantage to reduce the feed costs for the cage-cultured marine carnivorous fish species. By using the night-lights methods an alternative of supplementary feeding strategy can be offered to the cage farmers and maintain sound environmental conditions that could enhance maximum sustainable yields. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of night-lights which shown positive results on feeding and growth in sea cage cultured rockfish, Sebastes schlegeli. The study showed that for the water around overhead illuminated sea cage, higher zooplankton density was observed at night than during the daytime. Increased amounts of for-age, evidenced by stomach content analyses were observed in the early evening, but decreased amounts were observed in the morning and afternoon. That is, feeding activities of the fish were most intensive from midnight to dawn. In a three month feeding experiment, the results showed that night-lighted groups were superior to groups with the highest feeding efficient. This study suggested that the evidence that night-lights superimposed on only day-lights enhance growth of rockfish in sea cages during summer and winter, with timing of exposure affecting growth of juvenile fish. The capability to control the feeding behavior of marine life via manipulation and external stimuli could considerably benefit the advancement of sea cage aquaculture in coastal areas.
A Smartphone has an ability accessing Internet by URL stored in NFC(Near Field Communication) Tag for storing the information of items, blogs and web pages. Because the system works through the Internet with URL, however, it needs to pay some costs like communication fee and time. If we can store the web page on the tags, we can save the communication overhead. But they have too small memory to store it. In this paper, we introduce the Micro-Webpage technology which can be stored in NFC tag or QR(Quick Response) code. To make a Micro-Webpage, we remove control tags from the web page to leave a user original content. The removed control tags are stored in our smartphone application as a template. The user content is also compressed to a smaller one by an lossless compression algorithm. When a tag is read, the stored content is decompressed and, it is combined with the template to make the original web page. We have implemented a prototype of Micro-Webpage system on Android platform and confirmed that the prototype has reasonable performance improvements in saving memory and loading web page time.
There are continuos tendencies toward that foreign tourists increase. Since 55% of them visit Korea without data communication for saving the communication costs, they can not utilize a variety of O2O services through QR/NFC/Beacon. There have been some researches to provide a smart map service based on the micro webpage technology even without data communication. But, they do not suggest how the templates are retrieved into their smart-phones. In this paper, we describe a mobile tourist information system for those who have no data communication. We utilize the micro webpage technology to develop a system for market promotion, shopping goods, and tourist maps. What matters in the micro webpage techniques is that the templates should be already downloaded to the users' smart phones before using it. The preceeded research did not mention the problem. We suggest a scheme that tourists obtain the tremplates in the information offices on the spot through Wi-Fi. We describe the details of the system, and evaluate the data overhead of templates and the time to be downloaded. We show that the overheads are endurable, which means that the system would be working well.
Freight management systems require a new business model for rapid decision making to improve their business processes by dynamically analyzing the previous experience data. Moreover, the amount of data generated by daily business activities to be analyzed for making better decisions is enormous. Online-to-offline or offline-to-online (O2O) is an electronic commerce (e-commerce) model used to combine the online and physical services. Data analysis is usually performed offline. In the present paper, to extend its benefits to online and to efficiently apply the big data analysis to the freight management system, we suggested a system architecture based on O2O services. We analyzed and extracted the useful knowledge from the real-time freight data for the period 2014-2017 aiming at further business development. The proposed system was deemed useful for truck management companies as it allowed dynamically obtaining the big data analysis results based on O2O services, which were used to optimize logistic freight, improve customer services, predict customer expectation, reduce costs and overhead by improving profit margins, and perform load balancing.

High-quality industrial control is critical to ensuring production quality, reducing production costs, improving management levels and stabilizing equipment and long-term operations. WiFi-based Long Distance (WiLD) networks have been used as remote industrial control networks. Real-time performance is essential to industrial control. However, the original mechanism of WiLD networks does not minimize end-to-end delay and restricts improvement of real-time performance. In this paper, we propose two algorithms to obtain the transmitting/receiving phase cycle length for each node such that real time constraints can be satisfied and phase switching overhead can be minimized. The first algorithm is based on the branch and bound method, which identifies an optimal solution. The second is a fast heuristic algorithm. The experimental results show that the execution time of the algorithm based on branch and bound is less than that of the heuristic algorithm when the network is complex and that the performance of the heuristic algorithm is close to the optimal solution.
The conventional non-dig underground structure building method which made an appearance to reduce the social and environmental costs and maximize the efficiency of the social overhead capital facilities could not help being uneconomical because of many problems such as unnecessary excessive excavation, water leakage, obstacle interference, difficulty of curvilinear application and connection complexity between propelled and injected bodies due to indiscriminate application of small and large circular steel pipes without consideration of the site conditions. The T.S.T.M, in which a protruded square tube is applied as a propulsion and injection body in a design that considered site conditions such as ground condition, depth of soil and live load, was able to be economical as it solved the problems of water resistance, minimization of obstacle interference and curvilinearity, and we can see that it can be applied to all grounds by utilizing or complementing the target ground in terms of engineering. Also in configuring the transverse section, it is possible to not only secure excellent structural safety but also implement all of the above engineering characteristics not only in the square cross section but also in the arch cross section, so it was possible to build structures on any section or ground, and we could confirm the LCC reduction effect and the VE effect.

The preservation of temporal dependencies among a group of processes that exchange continuous media at runtime is a key issue for emerging mobile distributed systems (MDS), such as monitoring of biosignals and interactive multiuser games. Although several works are oriented to satisfy temporal dependencies, most of them are not suitable for MDSs. In general, an MDS is characterized by the absence of global references (e.g. shared memory and wall clock), host mobility, limited processing and storage capabilities in mobile hosts, and limited bandwidth on wireless communication channels. This paper proposes an asymmetric synchronization protocol to be used at runtime in an MDS without using a common reference. One main aspect of our synchronization protocol is that it translates temporal constraints to causal dependencies of the continuous media data as seen by the mobile hosts. We simulate the protocol by considering a cellular network environment and by using MPEG-4 encoders. The simulation results show that our protocol is effective in reducing the synchronization error. In addition, the protocol is efficient in terms of processing and storage costs at the mobile devices, as well as in the overhead attached per message across the wired and wireless channels.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of nursing units in a hospital using DEA. Methods: Data were collected using the medical information system of a general hospital in a city. Input variables were number of nurses, number of nurse-aides, number of beds, and overhead costs. Output variables included number of admitted patients, rate of bed utilization, satisfaction of discharged patients, and prevention rate of safety accidents and sores. EMS Window version 3.1 was used to measure the efficiency score and descriptive statistics were applied to analyze the general characteristics of variables. Results: The average efficiency score of 18 general nursing units was approximately .99. Nine nursing units had a 1.00 efficiency score. Conclusion: Our findings reveal that nursing units operated very efficiently. To increase efficiency of inefficient nursing units, we recommend results of the DEA slack analysis as a benchmark of the most efficient nursing unit.
